ESS - my Appraisal

Hi all,
This is about ESS - Career and Job -> my Appraisal.
I have all the configuration on the Homepage Framework done for appraisal -> access using BSP.
I have Portal/Webdynpro configured, where I can access other functions of ESS/MSS.
What I am not able to get right is the configuration to access my Appraisal using the BSP application. I guess the iview need to be adjusted at the Portal end to get this working.
I have seen many threads on this topic, but none gives any indication of this change.
Could someone be kind to let me know the exact configuration needed in Portal to access this service please.
Expect full points for solving.

A follow up question.
It also appears there is no WebDynpro based Appraisal Overview functionality for managers in MSS 60.1.2. It looks like if we implement MSS 60.1.2 appraisal functionality is totally absent. Is this correct? If so we'de have to implement the latest java based MSS appraisal functionality in com.sap.pct.hcm.editappraisaloverview java component or HAP_DOCUMENT correct?
Also still looking to confirm that our options for presenting employees withtheir current or past appraisals are the old ITS based my_appraisals or some other custom development.
Your insights are appreciated!!!

ESS EHP5: Appraisal document not working

Hi,
I am implementing performance appraisal (EHP5 and BP ESS 1.50) and am sorting out the very confusing scenario of EHP4 and EHP5 versions of appraisal documents. I am using the pmp version EHP5 and BP ESS 1.50 (BP ESS 1.41 not installed). I did basic setting in Object Setting and Apprsaisals (repla = X) and created a category and a basic template (Do I need to do this if I use the predefined version?).
But when I run the iViews, I got a system dump from the pmp version ...
Access via 'NULL' object reference not possible
Error Code: ICF-IE-http .....RABAX_STATE -e: OBJECTS_OBJREF_NOT_ASSIGNED_NO
I checked sap note 1319829 but our basis guy said we are ok with sap basis level (level 7)
... and this error from the flexible version:
The Web Dynpro application was called up with the wrong URL parameters
I checked some related notes about OBN configuration but they are only for EHP4. I've very little about EHP5. And from what i found, the EHP5 PMP version already takes care of OBN configuration in the iviews and launchpads.
BF and extension sets are all on as far as I can see.
My questions are: is BP ESS 1.4 needed to run appraisal for EHP5? Is Object setting configuration needed for EHP5 (predefined) which is abap based, since whe I tried the template (web layout), it shows BSP sicf bsp services not activated.

I have following scenario in PMS (not using Talent Management)
I am using Flexible PMS (Objective setting & Appraisals) with setting " HAP00 REPLA as A".
HR is triggering the template through PHAP_CREATE giving Appraisee, Appraiser and Reviewer.
After that, i am logging in through Appraisee id in the ECC and trying to see the document in Infotype 0024, tab (Appraisal where Appraisee / Appraiser)
but i am not able to see the document however i am able to see the document for Appraiser in Infotype 0024, tab (Appraisal where Appraiser) when logging in through appraisers id in ECC
May i request your expert opinion regarding the above mentioned issue.
Note: Status Flow in Appraisal Template is correctly defined.

Hello All,
I have created an copeid the URL from SE80 for Appraisal and created an iview.
Now i want that iview to be displayed under Career and Job.
Can any one assist me in doing this?

we have got certain I-view option under self service where Employee can set there G&O. Not sure if we have got any such in ESS for appraisal. Standard i-views can be used for G&O. Let's wait for a while from our Gurus opinion

LDAP configuration for HR Portal in dual stack EHP4 - Best Practice

Hello Experts,
We are trying to use the JAVA Stack of ECC server for HR Portal i.e Dual Stack and have applied EHP4 package for ESS/MSS Appraisal. When we are trying to configure the LDAP ADS datasource through portal , we are not able to do it since ABAP datasorce file is available by default.This we are doing for HR(ESS/MSS) Portal.This is for access to the object data stored in the Active Directory.
We have already checked note 718383.
Also, for the scenatrio ,LDAP <-> ABAP <-> J2EE
We have already checked sap help doc.here:

What should now be the best practice to follow for configuration ? Should we go for separate Portal server or is it possible to use Java Stack of ECC server for configuration ?

Are the suggestions applicable for load balanced production servers as well?

404 NOT FOUND error

Dear Gurus,
I have configured the WD UI based flexible appraisal process in the SAP Backend and it seems to be working fine when I test it via SE80 -
> PAOC_HAP_DOCUMENT_WD_UI.
Now the problem is from portal end.
I have gone through the SAP provided notes mentioned below..and the portal consultant has configured the EP accordingly.
1408243 - Configuration for object-based navigation
1416756 - OBN Configuration in Performance Management
1468466 - Performance Management Configuration Launchpad
1463821 - Performance Management Portal Configuration
1352104 - OBN action's Business Parameters don't reach AI Target
Now, when I login to ESS and then click on Appraisal Documents, an error page occurs with the following :
404 Not Found
SAP J2EE Engine/7.01
The requested resource does not exist.
Details: Go to main page of this application!
Could you please let me know what can be the problem here?

Please check the below,
1. If you are accessing the Appraisal document page from the career and job , check that the service is mapped to that career and job sub area.
2. Check whether OBN configuration has been done for the Page Appriasal Docuement (WD_UI).
3. Assign the below two pages under your custom ESS role.
Appraisal Document " (ID: com.sap.pct.erp.ess.hap_document) , Appraisal Dcouement (ID :com.sap.pct.erp.ess.14.documents_ee)

1) In the following image , the system display a field iview(enclosed in the box red). In this moment for ESS is [Standar iview] and for MSS[Status]. Where can be configured this?

Hello Juan,
what you are looking at is standard functionality provided by the WD ABAP ALV table view (which is used by the POWL - of which these are examples) - the user themselves can define their own views of the data (and you can I believe - although I have not yet tried - even define them globally and assign them as defaults).
Have a look at the POWL feeder class used by the appraisal status view - I think that it explicitly enhancable through a BAdI - if not then you could always just enhance the feeder class yourself. I'm not sure that you could include an action link column in the POWL, but you can certainly include a new button at the top of the list - and allow actions to be launched on selecting a row of the table and then clicking that button.

Objective setting appraisal (OSA) queries related to ESS/MSS

Hello All,
I am currently working in OSA. I have few queries related to this.
My client wants to implement OSA without linking it to the SAP ESS/MSS. They have their own intranet portal which is not a part of SAP. But they are using it for applying leave etc which has been linked to SAP R/3. So they also want to use the the same portal for appraisal also.
Hence my query is whether is it possible to link OSA with their own inhouse intranet portal ? And if it is possible then how and will I be able to get all those functionalites which are available in standard ESS/MSS for OSA?

In one of my clients they were using MOSS as thier frame work (SAP portal is called inside moss)

Problem in Appraisal Document, in ESS

hi all,
we are getting problem in Appraisal document in career and job service in Employee self service.
when we give the Administration Role to Ess user at portal level i am able to see the appraisal document but when we trying to see the document window is opening with page not found.
if we delete the administrator role at portal side for the Ess user i am not able to see any appraisal document that i am getting the Error

i added Everyone default Group also.

Check 1. Permission of roles 2. Security zone permissions
administrator user will not work as it will be SSO, create proper test user in Portal and R/3 both, and then check whether it is working or not, still if any issue please reply.

Button not visible in ess or mss appraisal portal.

i have implimented custome BADI implimentation for standard BADI " HRHAP00_ADD_HEADER " for my appraisal template for ess and mss. it is showing one additional data button in header section of the template. when i see this template in R/3 system in dev cleint or any cleint in server it is showing the additional data button. but when i go to web browser to open appraisal portal for ess or mss adn check the button is not visible there. please help. if it showing the additional buton in R/3 system adn standard BADI is implimented then it must show it in portal in web browser also. portal is built in web dynpro abap standard only.

I guess HRHAP00_ADD_HEADER badi is for only backend changes

Iam Facing a problem in ESS career and job .
in Appraisal documnets
iam using BP ERP5 ESS1.41 sp6
and updated Common parts
My problem here is when i click the appraisal link the page for appraisal is opening with some records.but when i click on that record the appraisal template must be displayed,but my link is displaying an error in that page as page is not found.
i had done required OBN as of SAP NOTE 1416756 , 1408243.but my issue doesnt soleved

sandeep, im still looking for you to provide the
URL of both pages in your screenshot.
Outside of a weird firewall issue or something, you have 1 of 2 issues.
1. Your OBN Target configuration you did in the notes is wrong. which means the target URL is not pointing to the iview properly.
2. Your iview for the sap page called appraisal_document is not in accessible in the correct content area.
here is the location in the standard SAP portal area, not sure if you copied and already using a custom ESS tab....

also, on the previous post, it was wrong the wrong webdynpro's that were told you. The POWL webdynpro's you already have access to, its when from that application you try to launch the document. You want to launch this webdynrpo, which is configured in the appraisal_document iview:

HAP_MAIN_DOCUMENT- for flexible.

Other consultant is configuring the component of OSA(Objective Setting and Appraisal) in ECC.
The company want that the employee can appraisal to their manager through ESS.
I found that this version work with webdynpro ABAP and use the webdynpro application HAP_START_PAGE_POWL_UI_ESS.
I want know that have that modify for that the employee can appraise to their manager and solve this issue?

(TEM) Appraisal Form not showing in ESS portal

Hallo Experts,
In the ESS portal during appraisal of a certain BE, the Appraisal form does not appear. The Name of the Appraisal model appear on the portal but NOT the form itself where the user input data. (the criteria groups and criterions.)
The Appraisal form is incomplete.
The BET for the BE has correct event appraisal model as shown in its Relationship infotype.
Is this a problem with the SAP or the portal itself?
I'm not sure if the appraisal functionality uses batch job to copy data into the portal. Is there a way to tell? Or is there a SAP standard program used in batch jobs that transfers data from appraisal into the portal?

Appraisal Documents POWL in ESS

Hi all,
I have a query regarding the possibility of creating document through ESS POWL not MSS, in MSS there is a create button to allow creation of document however this button is not available for ESS, in our process the employee will initiate a document and prepare it hence send it to his manager for approval.
Is it possible that this scenarion is not supported within the Flexible Performance Management framewok.

Many customers do not like to leave this responsibility on the user - to create the appraisal themselves. They create it in advance, possibly in a status/substatus that is only editable by the appraisee.
If you want to allow the ess users to create appraisals for themselves, either
create your own POWL query, with own class to implement in POWL the create document button (as the MSS POWL Query has it, you'll need to enhance the standard ABAP WD Application to take other POWL ID)
or
enhance the standard SAP delivered POWL Class (faster but less clean in my opinion).
