ESS : My Bookings iView

Hi,
I have some problem in Portal. There is a Role ESS and in it there is a workset "Carrer and Job". In this workset there is a link "My Bookings". I want to know how this link will open the page which contains the iView for My Bookings.
If I open the preview separately from Content Administration, it works fine.
The problem that I have that it is not opening the My Bookings iView from the link "My Bookings" which is in Workset Career and Job, but when I checked from spro transaction and test the service it is working fine, then why it is not working in Portal
Regards
Deep

Hi Shreya,
The link "My bookings" is provided by SAP in under "Career and Job" workset which is under "Employee Self Service" Role. All the links, workset and role are provide by SAP, which comes visible when we upload the ESS Package and "My bookings" link calls the service "PV8i".
Please tell me how I can find that "My Bookings" link calls the particular page/workset...
Regards
Deep

  • ESS : My Bookings iView from Career and Job workset

    Hi,
When I click on this workset, a page appears having Webdypro iView which has too many links. The problem is that there is one link name as "My bookings" and when I click on this link, the page doesn't opens. It neither gives an error nor opens the respective page.
What happens that the a blank page appears. I want to know how I can check the link which is of WebdynPro iView is mapped to what page or iView. I think there must be mapping problem as all other links are working.
Also I had checked the page as well as iView is working fine from the Content Administration means the page which has to be opened from the link, but when I opens the Webdypro iView too from Content administration and click on to the link from the preview it doesn't works.
    Please help me.

  • ESS in MSS Iview

    Hi all,
Is ESS in MSS iview equivalent with related activities iview? I'm trying to make ESS for MY employee as a stand alone area instead of merging it in employee profile general data. But if i preview related activities  in the portal content the page return blank, can somebody help me? I know the step to add new area, add service but the iview return blank. Does this iview need eventing with team viewer? Many thanks

    Hi
Thanks, your link really help me, i actually don't follow the step but after reading the first two sentence i have decide to copy the general information page and remove all iview beside team viewer and related activites (which is what i need), so instead of creating a new one, i modify general information page. Thank you very much.

  • ESS Travel Manager iview

    Dear All,
The ESS Travel Manager iView (ITS based) is not getting diaplayed properly. Only a grey area is displayed in the content area. This is happening with some users only others are able to access the same but it takes time for them.
Any idea why this is happening
    Regards,
    Samir
Edited by: Samir on Jan 21, 2009 5:51 PM

If it's only occuring for a subset of users then it could well be browser settings.
If you're using a proxy server, then check there's a proxy expection stated for the domain of the ITS server.
Set-up a proxy exception for the portal (if proxy is used):
    - In Internet Explorer, choose Tools -> Internet Options
    - Choose the Connections tab -> LAN Settings
    - In the Proxy server section, make sure u2018Bypass proxy server for local addressesu2019 is ticked and choose u2018Advancedu2026u2019
    - Enter the site within the u2018Exceptionsu2019 section
    - Click OK on remaining screens

  • ESS Family Members iView - Change UI Elements

    Hi guys,
On ESS Family Members iview, the subtypes (i.e. family members) appear as buttons on the page - 1 button for each family subtype. I'm trying to change it from family subtypes appearing as buttons to values in a dropdown list. However, when i do so, it keeps hitting error:
    com.sap.tc.webdynpro.progmodel.context.ContextException: DataNodeInfo(BizCardsView): unknown child node
    What I did was:
    - Modify FcPersInfo.CreateOverview method
    - comment off the buttons creation
    - basically replace the code with:
    IWDDropDownByIndex DDI =  (IWDDropDownByIndex) view.createElement(IWDDropDownByIndex.class, "dd");
    DDI.bindTexts(wdGetContext().nodeSubtypes_Info().getNodeInfo().getAttribute("Stext"));
    container.addChild(DDI);
Has anyone met this error b4 and can share your resolution pls? Thank you.

K, issue solved. This is due to context node not existing in the view.
However, my context node contains the keys such as 1,2,3. How can i get it to display the subtype word itself, that the key map to? such as Child, Spouse,...

  • Hide or remove delete button - ESS personal data iView

Hi, regarding for example ESS(50.4) personal data overview iView.
How to hide or remove delete button in the personal data overview iView screen(I know that this can be done on the ITS server side (web studio), but I want to do this in R3)
    /Best Regards
    Patrick

Achim was right on. Edit/Change the Internet Service in R/3. A few things to consider though....
    (1) if using the original service, you may want to create a copy of theme 99 into your own theme (any number will do...99 is just the default theme). If doing so, be sure to change the service's service file (yeh, I always loved that about SAP's naming) to point the ~theme paramter to your new theme.
    or
    (2) Copy the entire service into your own "Z" service. Then modify the templates as you wish. You will need to point the iView to this "Z" service too.
Also, it is best to do it via SE80 vs. file level because then it will be part of a transport and follow the correct path through the landscape.
Now, if you really want to go back to R/3....find the function module or program the transaction code for your service actually calls, make a "Z" version of it, modify it, create your own "Z" t-code to call it, and THEN modify the internet service's service file (either the original SAP one or a custom version) to call your new "Z" t-code. Lot of work...yes, I know....but that's the way it's done if you gotta get back down to the ABAP level.
    Hope this helps!

  • Error while viewing ESS 60.2 iviews

    Hi,
We are running ECC5 backend and EP6SP9. I have done the following :
1)Applied via SDM the XSS components and ESS 60.2 BUSINESS Package in EP6
    2)Configured SLD
    3)Create/Maintain necessary Jco Destinations
4)Create System landscape (SAP_Webdynpro_XSS and maintained the settings for this system)
When I try to access any ESS webdynpro iviews from the portal, I get the following error

    Hi,
    the problem got resolved ....
after applying support pack SAPKGPHC06 (note 793609)
Now I am able to see the ESS views.
1>But when i click on any link inside..it again asks for user/password...On entering the user/password, it takes the user/password.But the same user/password screen appears.
i.e it is failing to access data from backend....
I have already created a system with alias 'SAP_Webdynpro_XSS'. and done user mapping with the ess user.
Could anyone please look into this issue
2>Also, I have created the JCO destinations and given the ess user id and password here. I tested it succesfully....
when i login with this user, after sometime it gives me an error as follows

  • ESS US ADDRESS IVIEW NOT SHOWING ALL OVERVIEW FIELDS

    NW2004s , EP 7 , MYSAPERP 5.0, ECC 6.0
ESS ADDRESS IVIEW - ( UNDER PERSONNEL INFORMATION ) -
The IView is not showing up few key fields in the Overview Part
for instance - Name, C/O , State , Zip code fields are missing from the overview part, but when i go to Edit part these field show up ( having data in them ).
The personalization option shows NO UI Element listed ( in the Overview - Transparent container ) in both Displayed and Hidden Column ( Yet few fields are showing up  - Street Address , Telephone without area code )
I deleted all the personalizations from the iview and the corressponding page ( By reseting it - as advised by a fellow SDN'er ) , but it didn't fixed the issue.
Backend is correctly configured and webdynpro code has the fields listed as well.
There isn't any SAP Note on this, as well.

what SP level ar eyou on. If you are not on EHP2 or EHP3 ( that is ESS 1.3), the fields on the overview overview are hard coded ( UI elements generated on runtime not during design time) and hence you will not be able to use personalization. You will have to add fields in wdDoModify method of the overview screen.
I remember replying with a code of how to do this. Probably you may find it with a search on ESS forum

  • Changes to the ESS Personal Data iview

    Hi There
With regard to the 'Personal Data' iview on ESS.
I have a scenario where fields marked as REQUIRED are DISABLED.
How do i enable them ?
When trying to change the field configuration by previewing the Personal Data iview and then doing 'control + right click' on the relevant disabled field the changes DO NOT take effect.
When changing an enabled field the change take effect.
Any ideas as to what may be causing this ?
Any advice with regard to resolving this issue will be appreciated.

    Hi,
The ESS/MSS fields can be enabled/disabled from spro settings at the backend.
Please check with HR consultant to see the status of that field.
    The pathmay be:
    >Personnel Management > personnel administration > own data > personal data
    Thanks

I have a requirement to add some additional fields to the Leave Request Iview. Can any one suggest me  the best possible solution  to add the fields 'Processed by' and 'Approved Date' to the iview?
    Thanks in Advance,
    VR.

    Hi,
You can personalize Web Dynpro iViews. I have explained this in another topic (2nd post) : [Re: Remove colums in WD MSS teamviewer].
And the wiki contains useful information : [ESS Personal Information UI enhancement without modification|http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/profile/ESSPersonalInformationUIenhancementwithoutmodification].
If it is the Universal Work List iView you want to modify, you'll have to modify the UWL configuration.

  • How to hide the "EXIT" button on the ESS Personal inf. iViews

    Hello,
We are using SAP ECC 6.0 + SAP EP 7.0 + ESS 1.0 (latest Releases).
In the ESS iViews (Java WD) for Personal information (Adresse, Bank, Family, etc. there is the Button "Exit"..
Does any have any Idea where and how to hide this "Exit" Button in the iView/Java-WD?
    Many Thanks,
    Nazih

    Hi Chris,
      thanks for your reply.
If you mean to hide the button using the iView/WD Personalisation by rightclick on the iView in PCD and then Review, well yes i know this and i have tried this already before and we were able to hide some not required input fields in the Webdynpro, but we were not able to find and to hide the "EXIT" Button using the personalisation..!!?? you know why?
Why to hide the Exit button, i will tell you why, in the iView for maintainig the ESS Personal Information -> e.g. Adresse --> Edit Adresse View (Roadmap view No. 2) --> when User click on the Exit Button --> This will open new browser Window with ESS... ---> This second Browser Window (Pop up) would confuse the User, since he already have an opened window, so the Customer mean why open new window, since the user can simply click the Button Back and so his data are also saved..
How can we manage to control the behaviour of the Button, so the iView is closed safety without that new Pop-up windows are opened...
    Many Thanks,
    Nazih

  • ESS Time recording iview: no Rec order can be assigned

    Hi,
I've set up ESS in a 7.0 Portal (SP9). In the Recording Times iview the following error occurs: When I enter times for a specific Rec. Order this Rec. order is not taken over in the Review screen (2nd step in the guided procedure). Finally the entered times are not assigned to any Rec. Order and cannot be settled in FI afterwards. It works in the backend sytem, though the error must be in the portal.
    Any help is appreciated,
    thanks a lot,
    Nicole

Any pointers at all for this??
