ESS - Own data dumps. Only for employees with PERSG "L"

Some employees are getting a "Serious error" in own data in ESS.
I get runtime error OBJECTS_OBJREF_NOT_ASSIGNED_NO in function FUNCTION hrxss_per_cleanup. The error is mentioned several times in the forum:
Done several analysis, and found the following:
I registered 3 identical employees with different PERSG/PERSK:
1. 1/01
2. L/66
3. V/01
I connected my portal user to the 3 different employees and found:
1. Works fine
2. Dumps
3. Works fine
So now my theoriy is that somehow the value "L" is misinterpreted by the system.
Can anyone tell me if this can be the case, and if so, if it is a product issue?
I don't know where to look for the error (esp. since I am not a Java person)

The problem was that the person belonged to a payroll area where there was no admin.record. (Payroll not run for this employee). This causes Own Data to fail, as it is checking the status of admin record - probably to decide eg. when bank can be updated.

How to make form field read only for users with certain permissions

We need to make two form fields read only for users with certain permissions. Kindly guide me on how to do this in Infopath. I searched and there is an option to disable to the column, but no option to select user permissions.
Please give your suggestion on this.

Here you can add the fomatting action on the field to disable the field if those users belong to certain Sharepoint group (does not matter the permission levels though). Hope it helps.

According to your description, my understanding is that the form data cannot be displayed when other users accessed the form.
As Hemendra suggested, please check if there are any rules in the form to display the data to specified users.
To match a user with the current login user, then we can set the filter with AccountId inside the Login Account group to equal userName() to get the corresponding employee id.

Live upgrade fails due to missing /usr/bin/7za
Which seems to be installed by adding patch 137322-01 on x86 according to release notes http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/820-4078/installbugs-114?l=en&a=view
But this patch (may also be the case for Sparc patch) are only available for customers with a valid serviceplan.
Does this mean that from now on its required to purchase a serviceplan if you would run Solaris 10 and use the normal procedures for system upgrades ?
A bit disappointing ...

Bluetooth Microphone Only, for use with wired headphones - possible?

Hi all,
Is there such a device as a bluetooth microphone, and could i connect it to the iphone for voice, with the audio being routed through my wired headphones?
I would like to continue using my audiophile headphones, but want to avoid a wired iphone mic adaptor, as the extra cabling would be annoying to say the least.

I had an iphone 1G adapter for audio that when connected it only served audio to the headphones and the inside iphone microphone was still working and receiving my voice without the need for an externatl microphone.
The adapter broke so I bought a new one and I updated to firmware 2.0 (from 1.1.4) the same time. The new adapter did not do the same thing, but I cannot decide if this is because of the firmware upgrade or the different new adapter.

Export dialog only for use with teleprompter?

I tried the official Story Plus teleprompter and didn't care for it (plus it has the same problem I'm having now).
HOW do you export dialog only from Story Plus for use with a teleprompter?
I've exported a TXT document and it included everything. Additionally, it kept the formatting, so I have to go into a text editor and remove all the spaces. Otherwise my dialog is a mess in the prompter.
Any thoughts on how to get this working?

If you want to export just the dialogs from the story, you can try out Breakdown Reports (Authoring view : Production - > Breakdown Reports). You can try "Character..." or "Custom Report..." to see if it serves your purpose. It will generate csv file for you.

How to display DB specific data in WEBI for users with Single Universe

I have a WEBI report which is based on Single Universe, which can support both Oracle and SQL Server databases.
There are 2 users for this report.
1) Oracle_User
2) SQLServer_User
When 'Oracle_User' opens report in InfoView, he should see the data from Oracle DB
When 'SQLServer_User' opens the same report in InfoView, he should see the data from SQL Server DB
Please let me know how to achieve this functionality.
Can we dynamically change the Universe connection based on the User who logged into InfoView..?

I have tried creating 2 connections and restricted each connection for each group, but in Infoview, only one group user is able to refresh the report, whose connection is exported along with the Universe. when the other group user tries to refresh the report, an error is displayed 'You donot have access the data from this Universe'.
So the reason is : 'As Universe can be exported to Repository with only one connection' that connection specific group user is able to access data from Universe Whereas other groupuser cannot( as other connection can't be exported along with the same universe).
As Universe can be exported to Repository with only one connection, how should these connections set for the corresponding groups?
Could you please provide me the detailed steps w.r.t connections restrictions...?

When for instance Fusion HCM and TEE are integrated and employees are also available in TEE, can a recruiter then search amongst the employees for potential candidates for a requisition, even if this employee has not applied for the job?

In system terms you would be converting a load of employees to contractors and the ramifications are obvious; any pending transactions would have to be backed out, rolled back in again.
I would bite the bullet on this one and simply convert all your various Emp Variants (i.e., all the true CWKs who are currently EMPs on the system with a user person type) to the system CWK type on a given cut off date some time in the future. And I don't know of a way to do this other than do a mass termination and then create placement. This will sound very unpalateable to you right now but I reckon that if you proceed down a route of changing historical data, you'll hit more unseen problems down the road.
Anyway, interesting question, it would be good if you could relay your findings or outcomes to the forum.

How to record first-published date in metadata for use with US Copyright Office?

I'd like to record the date when an image is first published in the image's metadata. This is useful for when I need to send group submissions of published works to the US Copyright Office. Can anyone advise as to the best place to record this information using Lightroom's metdata fields?

I haven't found a field for this in Lightroom itself. It only seems to support Date Created, not the first Publication Date which is essential for copyright registration. For now I'm sticking Publication Date in the Instructions field, but I don't know if that's the best solution.
A Publication Date field is available as part of the PLUS for Lightroom plug-in, which adds fields that support the PLUS image rights standard. It's a bit pricey, but if you run a business that does this all the time it might be worth it.
You can see the plug-in's Publication Date field being used toward the end of the Part II demo movie at the PLUS for Lightroom plug-in site.
What's interesting is that Lightroom 3 contains an "IPTC Extension" metadata panel that says PLUS Version 1.2.0 at the bottom, but this panel doesn't contain a Publication Date field. If you look at the XMP reference for PLUS Version 1.2.1, it lists a First Publication Date field. I don't know if that field got added in PLUS 1.2.1, but it's definitely missing from Lightroom 3.5.
In the Lightroom feature request forum, the closest request I found was this one, so it might be worth adding a request for a Publication Date field.

VoFR PVC for data and PVC for voice with FRTS

Dear friends, It is my first experience configuring VoFR. My access rate is 128 Kbps and the CIR is 64 Kbps. I configured the router following some cisco examples using "vofr cisco" and FRTS into my "map-class" for voice. You can see my config in the attach file.
It works fine, the quality voice is good (2 calls)when the link is congested up to 100% through bi-directional ftp download.
However, I cannot get a speed upper to 64 Kbps. I understand that it is as FRTS works and it is necesary to QoS for voice. But I`m paying to my service provider a price for 128/64 and I never won`t get a speed greater than 64 Kbps.
How can I solve this problem without increase my CIR?. It has a additional cost.
I`m reading that some solution could be create two PVCs: one for voice and one for data. How should I configure them to get a burst traffic for data upper to 64 Kbps without affect my quality of voice?

If so, should we buy SSL from a valid external C.A for the server and clients? or just for Clients? or just for the server?

If you are looking to connect to a particular PC on your home network from outside then follow the steps
There are six steps you'll need to follow to set this up. Each one is explained in detail below.
Allow remote connections to the computer you want to access.
Make sure Remote Desktop is able to communicate through your firewall.
Find the IP address of the computer on your home network that you want to connect to.
Open your router's configuration screen and forward TCP port 3389 to the destination computer's IP address.
Find your router's public IP address so that Remote Desktop can find it on the Internet.
Open Remote Desktop Connection and connect.(Type in your public IP + the forwarded port to acces the desired PC- public IP : port )
If you have already done this and all you want is to decide who access it then give user permission in
Remote Desktop Users Group.
Apart using SSL cert you can limit the user access using your firewall/router.
SSL certificate is required for your server alone.

Modify DATE format only for a column

DB table has two or more columns of DATE type of which a column representing "Date of Birth" should not be of the format of TIMESTAMP . When queried it should return "mm/dd/yyyy" format without 'hh:mm:ss' . The others should be as usual.
This is to ensure no changes in the applications querying this columns
