Hi,
EDIT: Found this thread in the meantime, might be helpful: /thread/1270887 [original link is broken]
Anyway, if role-based personalization fails and there are even dependencies on the lowest-level UI-elements for some reason plus you have no option to influence the service via SPRO; as far as I know you'd have to go for modification in NWDI/NWDS.
But better wait with that until Siddarth or so commented this to be on the safe side.

  • ESS US Addresses - Hide Review Button

    Hello Experts,
    I'm currently working on an ESS DC for BP 1.0 (ERP 2005), specifically the US Addresses webdynpro application (essusaaddr) and my requirement is to show the Edit Screen differently, according to the different Infotype 0006 subtypes available in the Bizcard overview screen.
    I got this done by verifying which is the active subtype and depending on this, I change fields atributes accordingly (e.g. Read Only, Invisible).
    Problem is that for one specific subtype I need to hide the Review and Save button, because this subtype is all read-only. And I cannot find the application's buttons anywhere, so I don't know how to act upon them...
    Bottom line is: where can I find the buttons for the Bizcard view and Edit view for the ESS US Addresses application? Anyone?
    Thanks a lot in advance,
    Antonio Caldas

    Hi Guys,
    Thanks for your replies.
    I'm sorry but I think I wasn't clear enough. The question is not hiding a button or label using the FPM personalization features. The question is that for the US Addr application, only one Edit view is provided, ao all subtypes existing in the Overview Screen point to it. The result is that if I hide the "Review" button in the Edit view, this will apply for all subtypes. And my requirement was only to hide the Review button for 2 specific subtypes.
    So the only way I managed to solve this by modifying the standard us~addr webdynpro application, using code logic.
    Thanks again for your replies,
    Antonio

  • Regarding ESS Addresses application

    Hi,
    We are using EP 7.0 and implemented ESS/MSS.
    Now they have activated Com01, Num01 fields of Infotype 6(Adresses).
    But these fields are not visible in the Addresses application of ESS.
    For example if I add these entries in Permanent address type, these fields are not displayed in Portal,
    Is there any configuration available in the ECC to make these fields visible in portal ESS application also since these fields are standard or do we need to go for customization.
    Any idea on this will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Vivek.

    Hi,
    In order to add the required fields in the ESS Addresses application,  we need to add those fields in the following structure of the country specific function module HRXSS_PER_EDIT_P0006_XX where XX u2013 defines the country code(say de- germany, fr-france)
    Structure: HCMT_BSP_PA_XX_R0006  where again XX u2013 defines the country code
    After changing the structure you need to restart the portal for this to reflect and use the below mentioned link.
    http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/pages/viewpage.action?spaceKey=profile&title=ESSPersonalInformationUIenhancementwithoutmodification&decorator=printable
    After that you need to enhance the BADI   HRPAD00INFTYUI   for the input conversion ans output conversion.
    Please let me know for further clarification.
    Regards,
    Vivek,

  • How to Pass personal number(pernr) to the ESS Webdynpro ABAP Application

    Hi,
    How to pass personal number of employee to the standard ESS webdynpro ABAP application as application parameter of iview.
    Thanks
    Srikanth

    Hi
    For WebDynpro application in iView there is a property to set Parameter for WebDynpro application.
    Handel these passed parameters in Default plug of Interface Controller.
    Note string passed as parameter in iview is case sensitive.
    Try this code to get URl of Deployed application
    String appURL = null;
    try {
         WDDeployableObjectPart currentAppPart =wdThis
                                  .wdGetAPI()
                                  .getComponent()
                                  .getApplication()
                                  .getDeployableObjectPart();
    appURL = WDURLGenerator.getApplicationURL(currentAppPart);
    } catch (final WDURLException ex) {
    wdComponentAPI.getMessageManager().reportException(
                             new WDNonFatalException(ex),
                             false);

    Hi all,
    If my memory serves me well, the exception is thrown because the application needs a working calendar for a person provided in time mangement. Make sure the correct infotypes are used. Also the organization structure needs to be set up correctly. The manager needs someone to approve and the employee needs someone to get approved by.

  • ESS US ADDRESS IVIEW NOT SHOWING ALL OVERVIEW FIELDS

    NW2004s , EP 7 , MYSAPERP 5.0, ECC 6.0
    ESS ADDRESS IVIEW - ( UNDER PERSONNEL INFORMATION ) -
    The IView is not showing up few key fields in the Overview Part
    for instance - Name, C/O , State , Zip code fields are missing from the overview part, but when i go to Edit part these field show up ( having data in them ).
    The personalization option shows NO UI Element listed ( in the Overview - Transparent container ) in both Displayed and Hidden Column ( Yet few fields are showing up  - Street Address , Telephone without area code )
    I deleted all the personalizations from the iview and the corressponding page ( By reseting it - as advised by a fellow SDN'er ) , but it didn't fixed the issue.
    Backend is correctly configured and webdynpro code has the fields listed as well.
    There isn't any SAP Note on this, as well.

    what SP level ar eyou on. If you are not on EHP2 or EHP3 ( that is ESS 1.3), the fields on the overview overview are hard coded ( UI elements generated on runtime not during design time) and hence you will not be able to use personalization. You will have to add fields in wdDoModify method of the overview screen.
    I remember replying with a code of how to do this. Probably you may find it with a search on ESS forum

  • Modifications in the standard ESS WD abap application

    Hi
    I have a requirement in the travel request of ESS application which is webdynpro abap.
    When i select create travel request and in the first screen give the travel details and after clicking on review button at the bottom it is navigated to other screen in which we find Final action section where there are two radio buttons 1) Save 2)Save and send for Approval .
    Now my requirement is we have two remove those two radio buttons completely and place the static save and save and send for approval buttons at the bottom.
    For these static buttons i have to perform action where i found  in the standard application  it is not directly calling standard methods at the controller level but it is performing action based on the dynamic text of the " forward" button on action navigate-> start navigation ..........so how can we perform the similar action with the static buttons in created in FITE_REVIEW component .
    Thanks in advance.

    Have you checked the feeder class and see if you can perform the changes there.

  • Getting all data for ESS Pers, Address, Bank & Family screen from SAP 4.7

    Hi,
    I need suggestions on a weird situation that we have in one of the ESS/MSS project.
    Following are the systems that client has: -
          1. Enterprise Portal 7.0
          2. SAP ECC 6.0  -
    > (all JCOs in ESS/MSS DCs point to this system.. so in short this system is mapped to Portal)
          3. SAP 4.7            -
    > (they are maintaining all data for Pers, Address, Bank & Family here)
          4. Infotype data for some infotypes (such as 0105) are synched between these two SAP systems.
    Now, there are some standard + Z fields added in infotypes in SAP4.7 system.
    To display Z- fields on Portal, here is what is already done: -
           - Z - RFC is written in SAP ECC6.0 that calls SAP 4.7 to get the data.
           - Standard ESS WD DCs (pers, addr, fam & bank)  are edited to call above RFC to display Z - fields.
    Now, Client wants : -
          - to display all data from SAP4.7 system on portal (standard as well as Z fields).
          - use ECC6.0 system as a middle box between EP & SAP4.7.. There will be RFCs written in SAP ECC6.0 system that will call FMs in SAP 4.7 and return the data
    Now, I don't understand how do I change standard WD DCs that has some standard ARFC models (HRXSS_PER*) written in them.
    Any ideas on how to proceed on these objectives?
    Please help.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Amey

    Hi Siddarth,
    Thanks for reply.
    So I have following alternatives ? : -
    Option-1 : Sync data between ECC6.0 and SAP4.7 for these Infotypes at regular intervals.
                        (No changes @ ABAP & WD code)
    Option-2 : Enhance standard RFCs (such as HRXSS_PER_READ_P0006_FR) in ECC6.0 system to get data from SAP4.7.
                        (Changes @ ABAP side only)
    Option-3 : Create custom RFCs in ECC6.0 and import them at WD side and set data in 'SelectedInfotype' node?
                        Then what do we do about standard RFC calls that are already present in these DCs?
                        I am a bit skeptical about this approach.
                        (lot of work in both ABAP & WD side)
    Can you please comment?

  • Overview Link of ESS Salary Stat application

    Hello,
    We are using few ESS applications in our environment. We were using the ESS applications without any customization so far. Now, we have some requirements for customizing a few things. I would really appreciate your help in the following requirement.
    (We have the NWDI setup and track created I have imported the configuration into NWDS and created the appropriate project for ess/rem and ess/rep).
    (We are on EP 7.0 using Webdynpro Java XSS 600 components)
    Our requirement is:
    In the ESS pay (Remuneration) statement application:
    1. Display the Overview screen by default (This is hidden now and will only be displayed if you click on the link "Show Overview")
    I really have very limited idea about this webdynpro application and am having difficulty finding the exact piece of code to be modified.
    I will appreciate your help.
    Thank You,

    Hook method called to modify a view just before rendering.
    This method conceptually belongs to the view itself, not to the
    controller (cf. MVC pattern).
    It is made static in order to discourage a way of programming that
    routinely stores references to UI elements in instance fields
    for access by the view controller's event handlers etc.
    The Web Dynpro programming model recommends to restrict access to
    UI elements to code executed within the call to this hook method!
    @param wdThis generated private interface of the view's controller as
           provided by Web Dynpro; provides access to the view controller's
           outgoing controller usages etc.
    @param wdContext generated interface of the view's context as provided
           by Web Dynpro; provides access to the view's data
    @param view the view's generic API as provided by Web Dynpro;

    @param firstTime indicates whether the hook is called for the first time
