Could you please let me know what all are the things need to deploy at SDM while implementing ESS.
i got docus for old version.
my version detials are WAS7.0 and EP7.0 2004S.
for the above versions, what all r the things need to deploy at sdm and also plz give me any installation guide for the new above vrsions.

Get the Business Packages from contentportfolio.
Since you are on ECC6 look for the ESS BP witth 1.0
as Version.
Download the ESS600 , MSS600 and PCUI_GP600
from service mkt place.
Assuming your EP is on SPS 9
You can download these Componets with SPS level 9

ESS and MSS are business packages which are preconfigured as per the Employees and the Managers needs in an organization.
You got to download these business packages from https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/contentportfolio
Once you download it, you have to deploy the same on the portal. Once deployed, you have to apply the ESS and MSS roles to the users.
Then you can find, the various iviews and to configure these if you have HR knowledge, you can handle them in a better way.

Upgrading SAP ESS and MSS after HR upgrade in ECC 6.0

Hello
I am new to SAP netweaver.
Our landscape has an ECC 6.0 system integrated with EP 7.0.
We recently upgraded our SAP HR from 600(SP 48) to 600(SP61) and EA HR component from 603(SP 22) to 603( SP 35).
After the upgrade we came to know that the portal users are facing some issues with Etime application on portal, i did a bit of searching and found that we have to upgrade SAP ESS, MSS and ERP5COM components. (http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/ERPHCM/HOWTOGETRIDOFSPSTACKMISMATCHISSUES)
My questions are:
1) Can we directly apply SP's for ESS, MSS and other components as i cannot find any prerequisites required to be met before they have to applied?
2)If we have ESS SP 04 and the required version is ESS SP07, can we directly apply SP 07 or we have to first apply in a sequence SP05, SP06 and then move to SP07?

Hello,
1) If a developer modified the ESS/MSS package, you need to ask the developer before you apply the patches. In this case, you find the "local version is modified" text in the corresponding package.
2) Java Patches are cumulative, which means that higher Patch contains all corrections of lower Patches.([SAP Note 1249886|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1249886])

Family Members for ESS SP9

Hello,
I am on EP7.0 ERP05 NW04s ESS6.0 SP8 Patch 9 . There was one problem in the ESS Family Members/Dependents Detail screen for country selection for which a note 1039586 was released ....this note tells you to apply new SP9 released to solve the issue but we have already started Development with SP8 and done changes ...so we cannot apply SP9 .....is there some other way to go about this issue without manually changing the application...

Is the prerequisite note 981703 applied as mentioned in the note 1039586.
Have you applied the correction instructions which gives you the backend changes?
In case, if both of the above are done, then you have the complete backend changes.
Remaining Front end changes to be done
1. You have to create model in the family DC for the RFC which is added when you imported the correction instructions from 1039586.
2. You have to call the RFC onSelect action of the 'country' dropdown and assign the values returned by the RFC to the variable assoicated with the state dropdown.
Hope this is clear.But i suggest you to apply SP9 instead of making all these changes

How to use Salary packaging in ESS...?

Hi All,
We are using ESS 1.0, Webdynpro 600 (EP 7.0).
Is there any standard service for Salary packaging compare (employee perspective) to re-structure his salary components ?
I found tcode : P16B in ECC 6.0.
But I donno how to use and customize it. Please shade some light regarding the same...... what are prerequisites for this tcode ?

We have a requirement to dispaly employee photo in ESS.We are implementing ESS with Webdynpro ABAP.

1) how to call this archive link..is there any standard WDA application.
2) what is the correct process to display employee photo in ESS.

Do you have HR Administrator Business Package Installed? If so there is a standard application Employee Search which shows the employee Photo which is stored as Archive Link.

And also enable the setting under the location :
SPRO - Personnel Management - Employee Self-Service - Service-Specific Settings - Address Book - Who's Who - Maintain Setting
enable check box for Display Employee Photo.

   I had configured ESS and i'am trying to apply Leave through Leave Request iview which is available through ESS,i had enterd data into the fields and i had defined Approver in back end system,Now when i click on review button it is throwing me this error

The following are the prerquisites for the working of ESS.
- SAP NetWeaver 2004s with Portal
- SAP ERP Core Components (SAP ECC) 6.0 with the following extensions:
Human Resources Extension (EA-HR)
Financials Extension (EA-FIN)
- System Landscape Directory (SLD)
- Adobe Document Services (ADS)
And the following Components need to be deployed:
- BP ERP05 ESS 1.0 (Contains Portal Content )
- SAP_ESS (Web Dynpro Component )
- SAP_PCUIGP (Web Dynpro Component )

ESS Error after imported EA-HR 602

Hi all,
I was imported enhancement pack 2 for single component EA-HR (602) as requested by client to use function "HCM Processes and Forms" according to sapnote below:
Note 1024326 - Corrected UI for role HR administrator available
HCM Processes and Forms:
The following technical components are prerequisites for HCM Processes and Forms with Enhancement Package2 (EHP2):
EA_HR 602 (imported)*
BP ERP05 HR Administrator 1.11 (imported)*
All the requirement that addressed in below sapnotes had been checked before proceed:
Note 1045303 - Installation of Enhancement Package 2 on SAP ERP 6.0
However, we encountered problem accessing ESS in Portal after we imported EHP2 for EA-HR:

From your system component information, EA-HR still in SP 00.
You are recommended to import SP for EA-HR ehp2 once installed EHP2 package.
You may try to import support package for EA-HR and let c if it works.

Use
In this Customizing activity, you can make the settings for the Employee Self-Service (ESS) Skills Profile. You can use the switches available to make the following settings:
Switches QUALI DEST1 and QUALI DEST2 allow you to set up the system ID required for the RFC connection for ESS. In QUALI DEST1, you must enter the first characters of the system ID (maximum of 10 characters). If the system ID exceeds 10 characters, you can enter the remaining characters in QUALI DEST2. In each of the two switches you can enter a maximum of 10 characters. That is, you can enter a system ID that is composed of a maximum of 20 characters.
Switch QUALI FORM enables you to set up the SAPscript form required to print the skills profile in ESS. A standard form is already set up in the standard delivery (see below).
Switch QUALI REQPR enables you to set up which skills proficiencies, required by the position, are to be displayed in the employee's skillsprofile.
Switch QUALI TRURL enables you to set up whether a suitable training proposal should be displayed in the ESS Skills Profile for missing or insufficient skills and licenses.

Double Click on Resource object "EMPLOYEE_SKILLSPROFILE_SERVICE".
Under URL of PCD page, you will find

Delete this line and replace it with following..

Employment Oppurunities on ESS

Hi,
In ESS Employment Oppurtunities service when
1)User selects the vacancy,system is showing the Error message as "No details available!" and
2) User clicks on the "Apply" button error message as "No data transfer possible!"
In R/3 Requirment profile is maintained for the vacancy and for the employee, master data is also maintained (Personal data,Qualifications, Previous employers data).
Please help me on the above issues

First you have to download the BUsiness Package.That you can do from Service Market Place.Goto <b>service.sap.com/swdc-Downloads-Search For all categories</b>.
There you type the name of the business package you want.
Then for the configuration of the business packages goto
<b>service.sap.com/ess</b>. there you will get the documents for the configuration of the business package.In that documnets the prerequisites will also be mentioned.
