ESS - Previous Employment Screen

Dear Experts,
In ESS, if we view our previous experience details in previous employment
screen the name of the previous organization is not appearing fully. The
maximum characters is restricted to 20. How to address his issue?

I guess you are referring to [Talent Profile|http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_04/helpdata/en/17/1b9db9546b42568eb69bef91f8cda7/content.htm]. If so, you will need to activate the TM Business Function on the ERP system and install the TM Specialist Business Package on the Enterprise Portal.

Previous Employment Details in ESS

Hi Experts,
We are implementing ESS and MSS for our client. The client wants to see the Previous employment details that is maintained in Infotype 0023 in ESS.
Can any body tell me what needs to be done with respect to the configuration from ESS point of view.
or is there any other way to achieve this.

Hi,
1st you need to RUN any transaction in SAP ...say for e.g SE11 . Once its open SE11 then put "/NPZ28" it will open "ESS Previous Employers".
You can not run NPZ28 directly because "The transaction that you wish to start can only be started in the Web browser. It does not make sense to start the transaction from the Easy Access Menu because the transaction was specifically designed to be used in the browser."
Rest of the settings will be correct which has suggested by Barin .

Education & Previous Employment in Adhoc Query

Employee Experience including previous employment experience

Hi Frnds,
I am implementing HR Personnel Administration module first time.
Here i want to calculate the total years of experience with previous employment experience also.
How to calculate this previous employment experience?
Can u pls tell me the steps?

Total Years of experience - Current employment experience = Previous year experirence
Find the current employment experience by knowing employee join date till the current date.might be some standard exit or variable coding will help you. You need to know either previous exp to calculate total or total exp to calculate previous exp.

BAPI to get Previous Employment info

does anybody know a BAPI call to get previous Employment informations of an employee?

Try Bapi BAPI_EMPLOYEE_GETDATA. The table in which this data is stored are named PA****. Replace the **** with number of the infotype. Thus infotype 0001, organizational assignment, can be found in table PA0001.

Previous Employment in SSHR

Is there any function available for Previous Employment in SSHR.
We are getting in Core HRMS which in not accessible in SSHR.
This is urgent to us , please let us know.

As far as I know, there is no function in self service where you can enter previous employment infomation. It is however, available in iRec, where you can enter it. I am not sure if the personal information function, displays the stored information (u might want to check this). So, if you are not using iRec, then you will have to enter it through PUI.

PY-ID Previous employment details

Hi, I read from SAP Help that the system reads PTKP details from infotype 0694 only if we have set the feature IDPTK.
Can someone advise what should be the entries to set in the feature IDPTK?
It was also mentioned in SAP Help that "If an employee joins the company in the middle of the tax year, use Mid year hiring action." What is a mid year hiring action? We have only 1 "Hiring" action that we are using to hire staff who joins anytime within the year.

ESS log in screen

This is related to ESS (SAP 4.7).
We reinstalled ITS (6.2) because of the Hardware problem. After reinstallation, the client field in the home page becomes blank and the ess user is to make entry in this field, every time he logs in.
How to default the client (777) in the log in screen. Pl. help with screen shots for necessary customization.

No, ITS administration you could reach through IE (or other browser). Usual URL is
http://<ITS server name or IP>:<port>/sripts/wgate/admin/!
After that take the route I've already specified in the previous message!
ITS server name (or IP) and port you should know by yourself. Port you can look in your server IIS manager (if you are using Windows and IIS).

Custom field in ESS Bank Information Screen in wrong location

We created two custom fields for WD-ESS Bank Information (1.41). These were added to the iView using Personalization.
Now it is apparent that the Statement text field needs to be above the Checkbox field in order for these to work correctly.
I have tried moving or deleting the fields in the Personalization screen from the iView with no success. Is this possible and if so, how is it done.
If not where on the backend would this be changed.

ESS Leave request screen giving a critical Error in production server

Friends,
We are in a critical face of ESS implemetation.
We are doing an ESS MSS implementation for country grouping 99.
When we moved our changes to production server after succesful testing in quality, getting the following Critical error for Leave Request Screen.

     at com.sap.tc.webdynpro.modelimpl.dynamicrfc.DynamicRFCList.get(DynamicRFCList.java:281)
     at com.sap.tc.webdynpro.progmodel.context.Node$ModelElementList.getElement(Node.java:2543)
     at com.sap.tc.webdynpro.progmodel.context.Node.getElementAtInternal(Node.java:621)
Other areas like personal Info & who is who are working fine.
Leave request was working fine in Development and Quality servers and it never worked in Production server.
It worked fine with same config, with same master data and same employee & org structure in quality server.
We tried the following things:
1. Checked and confirmed the sequence of transports for configs and Developments to Quality and Production.
Even compared the table level entries and ABAP codings B/n dev and Production. All are same.
2. Moved the workflow changes to production and activated the same. No change found after that.
3. Gave SAP all authorization in R/3 and full authorization from portal side as well.
4. Assigned the userid to different employees and checked the masterdata of employees.
5. Checked the note 1388426.Every thing mentioned in the note is there in the system.
6. Verified Rule groups and WEBMO feature are correct and same as in quality.
As our go live date is very near, request your help .Thanks in advance for your help.

I am with a client who has the same requirement (to customise the standard "processing status" wording which is shown against each trip in the ESS screen). So far, I have not been able to identify where these texts can be changed. If anyone can help that would be much appreciated?

How to go back to the previous selection screen window?

I have a selection screen and I have a button that calls a basic report and displays it on screen 0. The basic report is displaying however when I push the back button the program exits.
If I use "set screen 0" and if I press back button, the program goes to the code. It does exit.
If I use "leave to list processing" and if I press back button, the screen is just stuck on that screen 0 forever.
What I want is to go back to the selection screen window when I press the back button at the top.

Hi Jabbar,
The reason it is exiting the program is because you are using set screen.
Try the following instead:
at selection-screen.
case SY-UCOMM.
when 'BTN1_PUSH'.            " Calls Plain Report
       call screen 0.
      perform plainreport.
when 'BTNEXIT_PUSH'.
    leave program.
endcase."
Think of the call screen command as a chain that the program follows and exits the previous. When you say set screen you are leaving the history in the program and it will always go back to the last screen it remembers which is why you were stuck in screen 0.
