ESS - Reuse of Country Specific Application

Hi,
I am working on EHP5 enviornment. I have a requirement to show the Personal ID service in ESS for country Mexico. But this is not available as standard in ESS for Mexico. So I have tried to reuse the service Personal ID for Thailand. I have done the below configurations:
1. Reuse of Screen Structure for New Country Version
View:   V_T7XSSREUSEUISN
UI Structure name: HCMT_BSP_PA_TH_R0185
Type: Infotype.
2. Specify Use Case and Active Subtypes: View: V_T7XSSPERSUBTY
Ctry Grping: 32
Infotype: 185
Subtype: 01
3. Define Country-Specific Services (Add Entries): View:   V_T7XSSSERSRVCG
Service Key:   Z_EMPLOYEE_PERSINFO_PERSID05_Thailand
Link Resource: EMPLOYEE_PERSID_TH_SERVICE_13
I have checked the VIEKN table for an employee of Mexico and it contains the value 32.
Pls let me know what other configurations I need to do or that needs to be done from the portal end.
Thanks in anticipation.
Regards,
Ranjeeta

Hi Ranjeeta,
This will work with these steps you have specified. Also refer to the following documents also,

This will solve your issue.

  • Resusing Country Specific Application - GT

    Hello,
We need to setup Guatemala for all the Personal Information iViews, and we would like to reuse Mexico for this. The steps I followed were:
    1) Assign Screen Structure to Infotype Version
    2) Define Active Subtypes and Use Case
    3) Country Specific Applications
After this, when I changes my ID to GT PERNR and logged back in to Mexico, the Adddress & Personal Data works fine but not Family Members/Dependants. This iView does not recognize the already exisiting record son the GT emloyee's IT21  and when I click on create new record, it throws a Java Null Pointer Exception.
    Any ideas on this?
    Thanks,
    Nakul

    Deepak,
    Thanks You!! Solved issue!
Another question I have while on this topic... The closest we could get to Guatemala (GT) was Mexico (MX). And if you think about it, MX is the only country in LAN for which SAP has provided iViews. Although MX works fine for GT for IT2 and IT6, we cant get it to work for IT21, because the screens of MX and GT are very different in IT21. Any ideas on how we can resolve this issue?
Another thing to consider is, we do not use IT21 for GT, but we would haet for the GT employees to go in there and see an ugly error message.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks,

  • Reuse country specific application

    Hi all,
We have a requirement for a bank info application for Trinidad.
As per our requirement, the bank info application for Trinidad should be on the lines of the US bank info application.
I am trying to reuse the US bank info application as per the steps mentioned here - http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/index?rid=/library/uuid/30b0b66f-3a3d-2c10-4aa3-f53ee3299bb3&overridelayout=true
However, i see that there is no screen structure defined for US bank info!
So I copied the screen structure HCMT_BSP_PA_XX_R0009.
Now i have to create a bank info resource for Trinidad. As i am looking at US bank info as best fit for reuse, should i copy the US bank info resource with the Trinidad namespace?
The screen structure copied is of 'XX', while the resource that i will be copying will be of US. Is this ok? Or would it cause issues in the new application that i will create for Trinidad?
    TIA.

You define country-specific services. When an employee starts a service, the system determines the employee's country grouping and checks if there is a country-specific service definition in the V_T7XSSSERSRVCG and V_T7XSSSERSRVCGC views.
If there is a country-specific service definition, the system uses this definition.
If there is no country-specific service definition, the system uses the general service definition in the V_T7XSSSERSRV and V_T7XSSSERSRVC views. If the general service definition does not contain a resource object, the system does not display the service (see example 2).
This enables you to define country-specific variations of services for certain countries while using a general service definition for all other countries.
    Activities
    Examples
    Example 1
Your company has employees in seven different countries:
    Germany (01)
    Austria (02)
    Switzerland (03)
    Canada (07)
    USA (10)
(Number in brackets = country grouping)
The service for displaying a salary statement is the same for Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. For Canada and the USA, you need services with additional content.
You define a general service for displaying the salary statement in the V_T7XSSSERSRV and V_T7XSSSERSRVC views.
You define two additional services for the country groupings 07 and 10 in the V_T7XSSSERSRVCG and V_T7XSSSERSRVCGC views.
When an employee from Germany, Austria or Switzerland starts the service for displaying salary statements, the system uses the service definition in the V_T7XSSSERSRV and V_T7XSSSERSRVC views.
When an employee from Canada or the USA starts the service for displaying salary statements, the system uses the service definition in the V_T7XSSSERSRVCG and V_T7XSSSERSRVCGC views.
    Example 2
Your company has employees in two different countries:
    Germany (01)
    Switzerland (03)
(Number in brackets = country grouping)
There is a service that is only relevant for employees from Switzerland.
You define a general service without a resource object in the V_T7XSSSERSRV and V_T7XSSSERSRVC views.
You define a country-specific service with a resource object for country grouping 03 in the V_T7XSSSERSRVCG and V_T7XSSSERSRVCGC views
This service is only displayed for employees in Switzerland.

  • ESS Personal information country specific services

    Dear Guru's,
We have set up the following country specific services (Dutch = molga 05)  for the Personal Information Workset in ESS:
    - Adresses
    - Bank relations
    - Personal Information
While testing these services for two persons the following situatin occurs:
    - Person A: has parameter MOL 05 set in transaction SU01 and uses ESS portal role.
    - Person B: has parameter MOL 05 set in transaction SU01 and also uses ESS portal role.
Als the country specific services are defined to the country speficif resources.
While trying to change the record in infotype 2, 6 and 9 for Person A using ESS all the procedures are succesfull.
While trying to change the record in infotype 2, 6 and 9 based on the date of today for Person B the systeem gives back the following error:
    "record 00001101      0009        0        with date x has group value "" instead of "05".
(pernr) (infotype)  (sub)                  (date previous record)               (MOLGA)
This seems to be strange because both users have exactly the same profile in ECC and Portal.
Also the application seems te have a problem with the limitation of the previous record since the system says that that record has group value " "  instead of "05"
Since this is the last problem we face in ESS we could need some help.
    Kind regards

    Hi,
This issue is because of data inconsistency. In se38, the report RPUFIXDS should be run to fix this.
This can be run for a single personnel number or a range of personnel numbers.
    Thanks,

  • How to call  the country specific application depending upon Pers area

We are using ess / mss on  EP 7  and back end is ECC 6.0    .
    Our requirement is
Though in R/3 for all employees country grouping maintained for all employees is 40 (India), As per project requirement we need to pull country specific screens for employee in portal  depending upon  the personnel area of logged in employee..
We need to pull the respective countries page based on the personal area of employee.
    for e.g
If employee belong to per area   A   then he should get the  US specific  Adddress  application
If employee belong to per area   B  then he should get the  India  specific  Adddress  application
If employee belong to per area   C then he should get the  IGermany specific  Adddress  application  etc
Is there any  configuration / way to achieve this functionality on portal
    Reagrds
    Rajendra

    Hi Rajendra,
There is something called Internationalization of WebDynpro Iview. Refer this concept. When you will implement and import those packages in program at that time either languages will change automatically location based or u can put if() condition to make the things workable. But more important things will start supporting your IViews.
    Best Regards,

  • ESS/MSS country specific

    Hi SAP GURUS,
Any one please help me what are the standard country specific functionality provided by SAP for ESS/MSS, like leave management, Benfits, ......etc.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Samba.

@ram manohar .....I don't think you understood the original question.
For ESS/MSS, there are several country-specific delivered services. What is available will depend on your version. For ESS, there are several. For MSS, not many (if any, I can think of off-hand). I would highly suggest you go to help.sap.com and select your backend version and then look at the chapters on ESS/MSS which will list ALL country-specific delivered services. If a service is NOT delivered for your country of need, you can also "reuse Country-Specific applications” which is detailed in the configuration documentation in the IMG itself (basically you make entries in a table that says "when you see THIS molga, use the service that is associated with this OTHER molga instead").

    Hi all,
We have experienced a problem related with an IMG activity which we couldnu2019t found:
    u201CReuse country specific servicesu201D.
We need this for iviews to be used for different country grouping (in our case we have to use 99).
We know that we need to configure table T7XSSREUSEUISN but for some reasons it is not in the directoryu2026.
    Any suggestions or work around?
    Any inputs are much appreciated.
By the way our ECC is 5.0 and EP is 7.0.

    Hi,
    What is this molga ?
Can anyone explain in detail how to acheive country specific scenarios ( like if i want some UI elements to be visible for one country but not for other )?
Can this be achieved from the backend settings (spr) in homepage framework or we need to do changes by going into the UI ?
If changes are to be done by going into UI then do we need to create seperate iviews for each country ?

  • ESS / MSS WDA Customer specific Changes in EHP6 / EP 7.3

    Hi
we have deployed SAP Portal 7.3, EHP6 in that we are planning to use WDA based BP (BPERP5WDA 1.50 and MSS Add on 1.0). We are planning to roll out more than 15 countries.
W.r.to the country wise we have the requirement to hide / visible, edit , read only for some of the fields in ESS and MSS based WDA applications. In some cases we need to hide / make it as read only as globally.
I could see the following two different options, FPM based approach, Administrator Personalization (by adding sap-config-mode=X in the URL of WDA).
And also I could see in some of the SCN thread,
Say for example, w.r.to the Admin personalization where for one user who hides the field in English (US) the same field appears if we login as English (UK). Is it based on languages in User DB of Portal (or) the country / molga parameter belongs to that user in HR Org structure.
Please let me know, as per my requirement, which is the right approach either FPM based approach / Administrator Personalization.
Also let me know, when we implement (either hide / read only) changes through Admin Personalization, I understand it creates some entry in the SAP DB table. Is there any specific parameters are getting added molga/ country details when we make the changes through Admin Personalization in backend table?
    Kind Regards,

    Hi Reddy
YEs I have a requirement based on the applicaiton wise in MSS Add on 1.0. w.r.to the country.
Since this is the another question, I have created seperate thread for the same.
could you check the same and let me know your feedback

  • I-views - Country specific settings

    Hi,
We have a requirement of a WD ABAP application for education info in ESS for employee belonging to US, Canada and Trinidad.
I have defined the z-resource, z-service and the country specific settings for same as well as done the active subtype settings in spro.
For settings at the portal end, i want to know whether i will have to create an i-view for education data under the 'personal information' for each country?i.e. one education i-view for US, one for canada and one for trinidad. If yes, can all  the three i-views  call the same WD ABAP application?
If the above is done, then 3 pages will have to be created for the 3 i-views.
    Kindly confirm my understanding.
    TIA.

    Hi,
You can just have one WDA and maintain OTR for the texts which are displayed on the view.
Using the FM SOTR_API_WB_TRANSLATE you can maintain translations in your required language.
    Thanks,
    Deepthi

If I understand your question correctly, you currently have a web application that uses Classic authentication that you would like to migrate to use Claims (SAML). Are your users still going to use their existing NTLM (Active Directory) accounts to connect
to SharePoint? If so, you need to follow the steps outlined in the Technet article below:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg251984%28v=office.14%29.aspx
I have migrated web applications from Classic to Claims in the past and it didn't take terribly long (on the order of minutes to hours, not days).
