ESS Translation - Mixed Languages

Hi,
ESS Standard Applications are rendered as a mix of ENGLISH and FRENCH (eg Road Map / certain Fields), where as the language of the user is set to FRENCH.
User sets the language via Change Language drop down in the masthead - custom feature (where UME API is used to update the language of the user). Our Portal datasource is AD LDAP. Where as in the same system (Development Portal) all standard MSS applications gets translated properly in French in the same Portal session. So issue is only with ESS.
We checked the JCO and it is set to BLANK.
Any inputs please?

Yes - these are standard iViews (directly tested from SAP ESS Role).
Verified below : Please see -
1) JCO is NOT maintained blank (Mantained blank is the ideal to get the browser language) - JCO is set BLANK already ie
SAP_R3_HumanResources
SAP_R3_HumanResources_MetaData
2) Iview property Forced language is wrongly maintained; - As in SAP Standard iViews.
3) User has incorrect language settings; - User language is set to FR using UME API. MSS standard iView Translates fully in FR.
4) Browser has incorrect language settings; - Browser had US-EN and CA-FR in that order. I had tried with CA-FR only. Still loads with a mix of EN and FR.
5) Particular language is not installed on portal; - How to check this?
6) Wrong customizing in IMG; - Standard (doesnt need additional IMG customizing). Custom ESS Role (Services, XSS Menu
area Descriptions etc are successfully getting translated in FR) -> Issue is only from standard WDJ applications (mixed language behaviour). Home page framework is getting translated successfully.

  • MSS Translation - Mixed Languages

    Hi,
In our Dev Portal all the standard MSS are getting translated properly in FRENCH. The issue is in our Quality Portal - the standard MSS applications are getting rendered as a mix of ENGLISH & FRENCH. SAP Standard MSS is delivered using Web Dynpro for ABAP correct?
So is there a way to trouble shoot and fix this issue in Quality system? What could be different?
    Thanks.

Unfortunatelly, no, MSS is Web Dynpro for Java, only in EHP5 ESS comes fully in WDA but still MSS is WDJ. Still, this means that in order to change the texts you probably need some knowledge on the portal side and not in R/3, i think we had this issue in a client of ours and it was pretty tricky to find all texts, but it was all done portal side.

  • Problem in Translating the language in SMARTFORMS to English to Chinese

    Hi ALL,
I have requirement to Change / Translate the language in SMARTFORMS to English to Chinese.
kindly tell the procedure to do that.
In SE63 , i tried to translate it. but it is throwing an error " INCORRECT CODEPAGE".
    What does that mean?
    How to handle this ?
    Waiting for your replies.
    Thanks .
    Suki.R

    Hi,
first Check whether codepage for Chinese language is installed or not?
    Then follow below steps carefully
    Step1 :
    T/Code > Smartform>Global Settings -->genreal attributes Tab > Set flag (Radio Button)transaltionTo all languages/ Restricted languages
    Please set this flag.
    STEP2:
    Translation:
Use T/code SE63>Translation(Menubar)>R3 enterprise> Other Long Texts>select " SSF"-->Enter Smartform name and from language and destination language.
    STEP3:
    Transporting translations :
Please execute the following program for transporting translations : RS_LXE_RECORD_TORDER
Target language = * or Target transalation lang.
    Object type = SSF
Then Press Create Transport Request button. Create Request.
Then include all your translations to that request.
I hope this will solve ur problem.

  • Simulation error : size mismatch in mixed language port association with VIVADO simulator

    Hi,
I have instantiated a VHDL module in  a verilog top file . When I tried to simulate the verilog top , I received the following error .
ERROR : Size mismatch in mixed language port association , vhdl port  vid_data
(Simulation tool : VIVADO simulator . VIVADO ver : 2015.1)
// Following is the instantiation of  VHDL module in verilog top file
    VPS  VPS_inst
         .clk (VPS_clk),
         .reset_n(~user_reset),
         .vid_active_video(data_valid),
         .vid_data(data_to_mem)
The port 'vid_data' is declared in the VHDL module as std_logic_vector (15 downto 0)
    "vid_data   : out std_logic_vector(15 downto 0)"
'data_to_mem' is declared in verilog top file as  "wire  [15:0]   data_to_mem" .
No size mismatch exists actually . But , I am getting the above mentioned error in simulation.
I have searched for similar threads . Nothing was useful .
Does anyone know how to solve this?
    Thanks and Regards
    Raisa

You might also get this error if you mis-spelled "data_to_mem" such that the declaration did not match the instantiation port map.  For example:
wire  [15:0] data__to_mem;  // double underscore before "to"
    VPS  VPS_inst
         .clk (VPS_clk),
         .reset_n(~user_reset),
         .vid_active_video(data_valid),
.vid_data(data_to_mem)  // only one underscore before "to"
In Verilog this is not an error unless you disable automatic net inference.  In this case Verilog is happy to create a single wire for data_to_mem, but then you would be trying to attach a 1-bit wire to a 16-bit port.  That would also be valid in Verilog, but not allowed for connections to VHDL.
I typically avoid this sort of error by placing:
    `default_nettype none
at the top of each Verilog file, and
    `default_nettype wire
at the bottom of each Verilog file.  This prevents the automatic creation of wires when you mis-spell or forget to declare nets.

  • Function Module to translate the language

    Hi
Can I get a Function Module to translate the language,
Suppose if I enter  EMployee Name  in English I should be getting in German or Taiwan or Japaneses langu.
    Any inputs
    Regards
    Rohini.

    Hi,
There is no such BAPI which could translate the input. Instead check the standard BAPI for your scenario , if it accepts language as input means then pass relevant language code and get the output.
This is possible only if the table contains data in different languages
More clearly you need to access the text table using standard BAPI.
Because text tabls contains both language key and datas in corresponding languages.
    Thanks,

  • Transferring PDFs to WORD with Mixed Languages

I am trying to transfer PDFS to WORD docs with mixed languages (English and Greek) so there are two alphabets. Is there any way to do this? The Greek is not coming across with the Greek alphabet.

    Good day,
Unfortunately our ExportPDF service doesn't support Greek. I'm afraid there's not a way to convert these documents without some loss as only some of the Greek alphabet is contained within the Western character set (math symbols, etc.)

  • Mixed languages in my executable

Hello all, I'm using LabVIEW 2009 on WinVista and have now a (maybe) weird effect.
I've created a executable with German as only supported language from my current project and tested the setup.
After instalation I have mixed languages in my installed executable, German and asian characters (i don't know if this is chinese or something else).
Where do I have to look for, to ovecome this effect?
Attached are two screenshots. As you can see, not all text is displayed with asian characters.

    Hello Norbert,
my Regional Settings are German (Germany), keyboard layout is also German.
The affected controls are set to App Font.
Maybe this info will confuse more:
After creating the executable and the setup, I quit labview. There, I am prompted to save my project.
After clicking 'Save' a little dialog appears, which says:
     Saving:
     path_to_project
And this little dialog is also in 'chinese' characters set.
If this dialog is displayed with normal, arabic letters all is fine.

  • ESS - Translations management

    Hi everybody,
I have installed ESS into SAP Portal. ESS works fine with any languages (EN IT FR )
The standard interface displays messages like :
"Employee Self-Service applications provide you with
easy access to information and services for employees.
This page gives you an overview of the entire offering."
This is a standard text displayed into the framework page.
I would like to change this kind of text for languages EN IT FR.
I know there is a way to do this under the IMG menu :
Cross-Application Components -> Homepage Framework (Overview) -> Resources -> Define Resources
    and
Cross-Application Components -> Homepage Framework (Overview) -> Header and Area Group Pages -> Define Area Group Pages
But It seems that is not the best practice.
I looked at the SE63 but all translations doesn't seems to be there (into table T7XSSSERSTRLAN there are only EN and DE texts)
Where can I change texts translation for any languages according the best practice ?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Christopher,
    Thanks for your answer.
Actually, my standard translations works fine. By example when my browser's language is set to "English", message is :
"Employee Self-Service applications provide you with
easy access to information and services for employees.
This page gives you an overview of the entire offering."
But when my browser's language is set to "French", the message became :
"Les applications de l'Employee Self-Service vous permettent
d'accéder facilement aux informations et aux services destinés aux salariés.
Cette page présente une synthèse de l'ensemble de l'offre."
My problem is I can't find translations into R/3 (by example the french text) although I'm logged with FR language. And theses translations are existing (because my browser displays the relevant translation according to the language).
I would like to know where are stored theses SAP standard translations for ESS in order to modify them.
Are they stored into the java Package (portal side) ?
    Thanks in advance

  • How to translate screen language from german to english

    Hello,
I have done some changes in screen of standard program and made one field mandatory by using layout editor.
While editing the screen,  option is asked about
<b>Maintain in original language or logon language, so I have selected logon</b>
<b>language EN.</b> Now problem is that on that screen some fields are coming in english and some in german.
Also if I am checking other screens of same main program, most of the screen fields have been changed to german eventhough I have done changes on one screen.
Please provide your answers on urgent basis, that will be of great help to me.
    Thanks In advance
    Pradnya Ramteke

    Hi Pradnya,
If you want to convert in your program then use the following class
cl_abap_conv_obj. Method Convert should be used. Use the following FM to get the codepage number for any langauge.
    SCP_CODEPAGE_FOR_LANGUAGE.
Then pass in and out code pages.
    Another Solution:
code does not need to be translated.
Data elment descriptions, documentation, text elements, etc. can be translated in the transaction se63.
Also you can translate almost each single object in the editor in the menue goto-translation.
<b>Kindly Reward points if you found the reply helpful.</b>
    Cheers,
    CHAITANYA.
    Regards,
    Chaitanya.

  • Workflow localization, translation, multi-language WF-dialogs

    Hi Workflow Gurus,
Question is about workflow localization / translation / globalization / internationalization…
Suppose, I have a complex workflow, which consists of a number of sub-workflows. This WF has been initially developed in English (including all dialogs), but now I want to offer this WF in other languages. Of course, I can begin to pass over each WF/sub-workflow element and to begin to type localized dialog via built-in translation tool of SAP where it is possible, but it may take a lot of time, especially if there are a lot steps in WF.
Is there any best practice for workflow localization, what is the best approach to supply the same workflow in English, German and French to your customers? Is there any way to get/build a dictionary of all dialog, used in all steps in WF and its subworkflows and after that to translate it to the desired language?
    Thanks.

I also would be very interested of hearing if someone has found a way to easily translate a workflow or has a tool for it. Many times the translation can become an own sub-project (this applies also some other SAP functionality which do not offer proper translation tools).
Basically it is not that hard - you probably just want to translate the "visible parts", and this includes just the dialog tasks: maintain the work item text and description in PFTC (this is a bit annoying since you need to log in with the destination language to maintain the work item text). Many times this is enough. But then if you have user decision in the workflow, these you need to go to translate the step to WF builder SWDD.
If you want to make things perfect, you must maintain all the texts in the workflow itself too (in WF builder in the translation menu): all the step names, outcomes, etc. These texts are visible e.g. in the logs etc. so users will most probably have access to these although they are not in the daily use. Luckily the translation tool in the WF builder is quite good, because it lists nicely all the texts of the workflow, and offers a input field to maintain the translation. And if you are after perfection, you need to go back to translating the tasks - the background tasks which will be visible in the logs...
Then, if the developers haven't translated the possible applications that are called inside the workflow, it really can become a project. For example it can be a huge task to translate a big web dynpro ABAP application (some translations come from data elements, some from OTRs, then you will have the messages, etc.)
