ESS UI Personalisation Problems

Hello Everyone,
We have done some ESS Personalisation by "CTRLRightClick" on the portal. We have hidden some UI elements on the ESS iviews. Now, we want to make them visible again. So, when we are trying to bring them back to Visible mode, by "CTRLRightClick"; even though they appear to be visible at the time of personalisation, they are going invisible again and again. I have been trying to figure this out from quite a long time and has given up now :-(.
Did anyone of you face the same problem. Please help me in resolving this issue. I would appreciate your help. Thanks a lot.

Hi PG,
what i meant by that warning is that if the UI has been developed through Web Dynpro and while setting its properties in webdynpro, it was set as Invisible, those cant be changed back to Visible state..this kind of note was present in SAP Help..

ESS bank iview problem

Hi All,
I am trying to change name of view and New bank buttons in ess/bank iview.
I didn't find the view which got these buttons. I even checked in used dc like ess/pss but this dc got previous and next button which are common for all applications. But my problem is to change view and New bank buttons. Can anyone tell me from where these button are coming.

ESS/MSS Logon problems

Hi all,
I have configured ESS/MSS and the works using the config docs provided in this forum.
The problem I am having is as follows:
I have a user in ECC5 - ESS_USER1
The same is created on Portal - ESS_USER1
The logon works fine....
But if I logon to portal with another User ESS_USER2 which does not exists in Portal, I am not able to logon.
Can anyone point me in the right direction.... have I missed something....?????

Here is the "chain"....
+portal user
.....tied to backend ECC5.0 with either SSO or User Mapping...
.....+ backend ECC5.0 user
...........tied to employee record by the employee ID
to tie a system user to employee record....
1)execute t-code PA30
2)select the employee id you need (personnel number)
3)enter infotype 0105 (communication) in the input box at the bottom
4)enter subtype 0001 (SAP userid)
5)select "create"(or "change") icon in the top left
6)on the screen the follows enter the SAP userid to tie to the employee and enter the date range when this goes into effect.
sooooo to answer your question, the backend users must exist in the front end portal UM repository (wherever you are pointing the portal to look for all your users...ie. user pool) as well.

ESS page Navigation problem EP7.0 for ERP2004

How are you?
We made ESS configuration in our new NW04s SP10 portal.
We use ECC 5.0 as back end. As we cant install the XSS component for ERP2004 in NW04s, we add java stack in ECC 5.0 machine and installed the XSS and JCO and all there. And imported the BP for ESS 60.2 in portal EP7.0.
Now everything is working fine that one problem.
The problem is related to link in portal. When I click the ESS overview menu, I get the the overview with ESS menu inside the page.
But if I click again in ESS overview menu, it changes to the overview with ESS menu inside the page. If I click again it change to first style. What I mean is, it change the every alternative time. I made all the PCD setting in IMG. And when I get the second view, and if I click in any link, the top level navigation will not work after that.
Do you have any idea why it is so and how to fix it?

It might seem like not a big problem at first, but this can be a major problem. If you are implementing filters and routing their in web.xml, you will not get the intended effect. For example, I use a filter to make sure that the user has logged in before accessing a page in the /app directory. The filter is not applied AT ALL the first time the user tries to go into the /app directory. Any way to make JSF shows the correct URL?

ESS: Application Running Problem

Hi,
I copied the component from ess/us/pdata of ESS for ess/sa/pdata (SA).
I changed all the dependencies, and manually replaced "us" to "sa" in the copied component.
Created the model, according to the requirement (with the new BAPIs).
I deleted all the Context Mapping and Model Binding, and created it again.
In all the components in the impementation I replaced "us" to "sa", accordingly.
We have already assigned the user to sa.
When we are trying to run the application by right clicking and pressing "Run".
It is running the ess/us/pdata application.

this is the problem with the configuratio for FPM, you need to check the application properties in webdynpro, that is your application is linked to the FPM application availabel in the portal, under SrcConfigure folder in the pcd, by default that application calls the us/pdata right,
you have to create the Fpm application for your application and provide the FPM application PCD ID to you werbdynpro Base configuration Id as part of webdynrpo Application properties, adn create the FPM views if you need, i think there is no need of creating the FPM views,
I think this will work,

ESS SC Import Problem

Hi There,
I am trying to import ESS600 sca into my Development system. The import ran for about 45 minutes and kicked me out of the browser with the following error ( Pl see Below ). And ever since then I can not loginto either CMS or CBS to check the status to see if the import is still running. I have looked at my CMS inbox logs at OS Level , it appears to be running from the message I see in the log.
"build process already running: waiting for another period of 30000 ms"
So , my question is , should I wait assuming that import is running ? Or Do I have a problem based on the error I get as below when I try to logonto CBS or CMS , as below.

       I am facing the same problem when I try to open the portal pages, Some times this works fine and some times it shows error in all the pages like below

Ess Print preview problem not updating in iviews

Hi Gurus,
in catw transaction ,i am entering the personal data through internet explorer in ess.after entering the personal details i am not able to see the details of the person in full screen through print preview.only half of the screen(50%).
i want to see the data in full screen.this is very big issue with the client.as per my research i have made changes in include lzcatshtml-html forms in catw transaction.
pls help me out how the template is updated.

Check the print parameters being used to generate the spool. Kindly check if the output device related settings are present in your Production system.

ESS photo display problem in portal

Hi,
I am not able see the photo in communication data or while viewing the employee's profile in my system. The photo is properly getting stored in sap hr. In Internet explore security settings are low and even photo display is ticked but still i am not able see the photo in the iview of portal.

1. R you able to see the photo while accessing PA30 ?
2. There is a function module to retieve the employee photo in URI.
    & you can use that URI in your Iview.
call function 'HRWPC_RFC_EP_READ_PHOTO_URI'
exporting
    pernr                  = '00001185'
*   DATUM                  = SY-DATUM
*   TCLAS                  = 'A'
importing
    uri                    = uri
and URI should be of the type TOAURI-URI.

ESS Leave Approver Problem

Hi,
Any employee XYZ used to report to MR. A.
For testing purpose I changed his reporting to Mr. B.
( Changed A002 - reports to Mr. B).
Now I want the Original situation that XYZ shud report to Mr. A.
I changed his A002 to Position of Mr. A.
However the system is still showing his approver as Mr. B.
( In Report RPTREQAPPRCHK -
In Check Application Function - I m getting Mr. B - wrong one
In Check Basic Function - I m getting Mr A - right)
I want XYZ to report to Mr. A.
Plz. let me know the solution.

Este problema descrito abaixo só acontece qnd recebo XML com caracteres especiais entre as tags Enter, Tabs, Espaço....
que representam 30% dos XML recebidos via E-MAIL
Estou tendo problemas quando tenho a Assinatura Digital verificada pelo Serviço disponibilizado pelo Visual Administrador(Verify)
Hoje recebo um XML por e-mail...resgato a string do XML no Kpro (GRC) e envio para esse serviço de Validação de Assinatura o mesmo Invalida a Assinatura
Quando o mesmo é submetido ao validador do governo Programa Visualizado NF-e 3.5 e ao serviço SEFAZ RS http://www.sefaz.rs.gov.br/ASP/AAE_ROOT/NFE/SAT-WEB-NFE-VAL_1.asp a assinatura é dada como Valida
Bom ...o senhores devem estar se perguntando será que esse arquivo não esta sendo corrompido na transferencia do mesmo para o Kpro ou no envio da msg para o serviço de validação de assinatura..., por esse motivo executei alguns ciclos de teste..:
1 - Baixei o arquivo original para minha máquina e executei a validação usando o programa do governo
Visualizador NFe 3.5 / serviço SEFAZ RS - Assinatura Válida
2 - Executei a Interface através do PI enviando uma MSG contendo a string do xml NFe resgatada no Kpro... para esse
Serviço disponibilizado pelo Visual Administrador(SAP) as java - Assinatura Invalida
3 - Baixei o Payload da MSG da interface de Validação da ***. Digital pela transação SXI_MONITOR Ajustei o xml editando em um bloco de notas (trocando os caracteres <> para maio e menor)
Visualizador NFe 3.5 / serviço SEFAZ RS - Assinatura Válida
4 - Criei um programa abap ler a string do XML no Kpro (GRC) e baixar ..local
Visualizador NFe 3.5 / serviço SEFAZ RS - Assinatura Válida
5 - Executei a Interface através do PI enviando uma MSG contendo a string do xml ...local ..teste executado através da transação SPROXY
- Assinatura Invalida
em qual serviço estará o Problema?
Alguém já enfrentou esse problema ou esta enfrentando?...pois esse tipo de problema parece ser muito comum pois nem toda empresa tem SAP ....e o problema é que o SEFAZ aceita e valida esses XMLs...!
pois estou pensando em seguir parte desta sugestão

claramente há algum problema com a codificacao do arquivo.
Abra o xml no Notepad e verifique que na tag Signature, há varias quebras de linha, incluindo caracteres nao reconhecidos (representados como um retangulo).
Ainda, como vc está testando o servico verify?
Vc fez uma interface XI? Porque não há interface PI standard p/ o serviço verify.
Ainda, como vc chamou essa interface? Pela tela de teste do Runtime Workbench?
O próprio ctrl+c que vc dá no conteúdo pode estar corrompendo os dados.
O fato de vc estar utilizando um browser para o teste poderia corroborar isso.
Faça o seguinte teste:
1. Através do XMLSpy, criar uma SOAP Request p/ a interface verify (menu SOAP -> Create New SOAP Request)
2. a tag Send SOAP Request). Aqui deu válida;
4.2. abra o .xml que vc quer testar no notepad, copie a tag Send SOAP Request). Aqui deu inválida.
Ou seja, dependendo da maneira que vc trata o conteudo (aplicacao onde vc abre o .xml, ctrl+c etc) vai haver uma modificacao da codificacao.
Nao vejo muita maneira de garantir que funcione sempre a nao ser removendo esses caracteres, conforme definido pela propria SEFAZ.

Estou com problemas no cenario de Validação de Assinatura com apenas um XML :
Estou recebendo um XML via E-mail !
Quando verifico o XML pelo Validador Online disponibilizado pelo SEFAZ RS ,a Assinatura é dada como Válida
e quando é pelo PI usando o serviço de Validação da Assinatura(Verify) a mesma é dada como inválida... Através do Payload na SXI_MONITOR verifiquei que além dos cacacteres ENTER entre as TAGs aparecem ESPAÇOS ...(ex.: Tag1 valor fecha Tag1 espaço Tag2 valor fecha Tag2).teria como tratar isso sem invalidar a Assinatura automáticamente ?

Não sei se você chegou a receber alguns casos que lhe enviei ...! Quando ele chega ao e-mail ele já esta assim....!
Esse é nosso grande problema as vezes o parceiro não se sente obrigado em ajustar o seu sistema, uma vez que lhe é apresentado uma ferrameta do governo que valida esse mesmo arquivo rejeitado pelo serviço de Validação de *** Digital(AS JAVA)SAP ...,oque penso em fazer quanto a essa questão,.. desenvolver uma solução para tratar a excessão ..com calculo de Hash ...comparação Binária.. e outras mais...!
Só que eu não queria tomar um caminho muito distante doque a SAP possa vir a tomar com essa solução no futuro até mesmo para não depreciar essa ferramenta que é tão boa...!

Function module to get time Accounts on ESS

Hi all,
How can i find that which FMs or BAPIs are called from the Portal Services to get the Time accounts for the Leave Request Appl on ESS. The problem which i have to investigate is that on IT2006 the balance is different and on Portal the balance is diffrent. I want to see where the Portal is pulling the data from ?

ESS Payslip is not swoinf in portal

I have a problem with ESS - Payslip. Problem has started with after deleting a variant in R/3 by some one. Now if I input the correct data and run the same, payslip is coming fine in R/3. But it is not showing correctly in Portal. Is there any variant configuration can be done at Portal? Also there were no changes for the past 5 months in Portal side. However we have restored the variant with different name.
Can some one provide sol...?

Try creating new iview.
May be some thing wrong with the application but nothing to do with portal.
