Essbase 11.1.2.1 mandatory components

Hi all,
I have a requirement where i need to install essbase in stand alone mode(wihout shared services). People will connect to cubes through essbase addin and they wd use eas console through URL
Now for this setup, tell me if the following components are mandatory
weblogic server
http server

john ive did regular deployments with epm 11. and never played with other types of deployments or never tried any manual tweakings. But ive read lots of docs and your blogs for installation and config.
though all the doc says weblogic wd be installed even in stand alone mode, my client wants me to find if by any chance i can make essbase 11.1.2.1 working without installing weblogic server.( they claim their current essbase9 doesnt use tomcat apache)
All they want to have is essbase server and eas. they just connect through essbase addin and some through eas console. i wd be happy if u can suggest any such deployment(if it exists) do work without webservers.

Mandatory and optional components during installation of PP and DS of JDEE1

Hi all
I am trying to install Deployment Server and Platform Pack of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne in two different machines.
I have downloaded from edelivery.oracle.com the folders for oracle database and the guide.
On the guide I am reading that for the Platform Pack
Enterprise Server:
Mandatory: JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Foundation
Optional: ES Production, ES Prototype, ES Development, ES Pristine
Database Server
Mandatory: System Database:
Optional: Production Databases, Prototype Databases, Development Databases, Pristine Databases
I have checked up only the mandatory components during install and now I see that the platform pack has not installed any database.
Am I doing anything wrong? Do I have to check up any of the optional components?
Does the Platform Pack work correctly without any database?
The same questions please even for the Deployment Server.
Please help me on this.

do you try to install from a Network share ?
If yes copy the .exe to the local disk of the Server and re- run the Installation routine.
First the package gets extracted to your profile of the user which is logged on the Server. In the TEMP directory directly.
After the package is extracted copy the TEMP dir. from the user to somwhere else (f.e. C:\) and from there run the "setup.exe"

Installing Essbase Server on Linux, Other essbase components on windows.

Hello all,
We are planning to upgrade from 11.1.1.4 to 11.1.2.2. We have just the essbase server installed on linux and other essbase components like Essbase Administration Services, essbase integration services, provider services installed on Windows. My question is how do I go about gathering files to install just the Essbase Server on Linux and other Components on Windows. I have gone through the Media Pack doc for Windows 2008 64(on which we plan to install the other essbase components). In that if I click on the files needed for essbase(listed as essbase plus) it gives me all the files needed to install essbase components.Which means(correct me if am wrong) on a server where am planning to install just essbase components like Provider services, Essbase Admin Services and provider services it gives me the files needed for Essbase server as well, which I donot need. So how do I go about accomplishing this. Or are there any other ways to achieve what am trying to do.

Awesome, thats what I thought, so in that case, if I want to install Essbase server on Linux, I have to download the essbase files for linux and select only the essbase server while installing, and if I want to install essbase components on windows, I have to download the same set of files but for Windows OS and select to install only the essbase components that I need. Is that right?

Weblogic and ohs and opmnn are part of the additional content install, you must include this component when installing essbase so it installs the opmn components.

How to set all required components false in ADF form based on human task?

Hi All,
I'm looking to implement an ADF form based on a human task. There are 2 outputs, Validate and Reject.
On clicking Validate, my form does as expected, evaluates everything that is mandatory and expects these inputs in order to proceed.
However, on reject, my form should overlook anything that's marked as mandatory. How do I go about making the "required" aspects of my form false so that no entries are required in order for me to reject the form.
JDev - 11g.

This doesn't seem to bypass any of the mandatory components . It still prompts for an entry for those fields. do I need to change the partial submit or any other property?

Is Informatica8.1.1 Data Analyzer and Metadata Manager were mandatory components for BI-Applications intallations.
we are installing BI-Applications with Oracle Application server, but the above components were supported by Jboss/IBM webSphere/BeaWebLogic.
Let me know whether i can skip these two components while Informatica installation

Hi,
You dont require Data Analyzer and Metadata Manager for OBI Apps, use custom installtion and select powercenter only while installing informatica.

EPM installation on Oracle Exalytics

We are about to start installation and configuration of EPM on Oracle Exalytics machine. For now, only the following EPM components are planned to be used on Exalytics - Foundation Services, Planning, Essbase and Financial Reporting. OBIEE may be used in the foreseeable future, however we are not sure about the exact timeframe when that would happen. Given this context, there are two key questions that we are looking to address in relation to the installation procedure on Exalytics:
Can we only install and configure above EPM components for now without setting up OBIEE and TimesTen on Exalytics, which are identified as mandatory components in the Oracle Exalytics documentation?
If the answer to question #1 above is "yes", would we have the ability to setup OBIEE and TimesTen on this machine at a later point in future using the Exalytics install script, without impacting or affecting the EPM setup already in place?
The Exalytics certification matrix document and the installation guide do not seem to clearly address the above points, hence putting this on the forum.

SAP PI 7.3 Receiver SOAP Axis adapter header Cookie

We are currently working a synchronous scenario like SAPERP --> PI --> WebService.
The WebService requires cookie authentication.
I have successfully tested SOAPUI <-->WebService Scenario.
The Issue is when I try to put the Cookie in the SOAP header using Axis Frame work.
1. I have followed the blog How to Set http-Header Parameters Using the Axis Framework (NW7.0)
Guess the only one available on net.
2. I have checked my http://<host>:<port>//XIAxisAdapter/MessageServle
2.1 and the status of the mandatory components are in green.
3. We are on SAP PI 7.3
When I try to execute the scenario and capture the SOAP request in TCPGateway the following is the result.

I can't seem to set the cookie in the http header after following the guide.
Cookie: WSL-credential=MyOwnCookie
I managed to set the SOAPAction though.
Anyone has any ideas?

SAP Crystal Reports 2011: Error INS00140 and other install errors

There have been many customers who have downloaded the Crystal Reports 2011 installation package and have run into an error when the installer attempts to recognize the keycode being used. The error received is "The Product Keycode is not valid INS00140."
This thread is meant to track all current resolutions that have been determined based on troubleshooting with customers thus far. In addition, the thread will provide you with the list of things that we need to know in order to properly troubleshoot the issue.
Before attempting any of the steps below, please be sure that you are using the latest version of Crystal Reports 2011 which is SP02. You can download this version from the SAP [website|http://www.sap.com/solutions/sap-crystal-solutions/query-reporting-analysis/sapcrystalreports/index.epx].

If you are installing Crystal Reports 2011 on Windows XP, then you need to ensure that the following Microsoft patches are not installed on the machine. You can check this by using the Add / Remove Programs dialogue.

Installing with Dashboard Design 2011 or Presentation Design 2011
If you are installing Crystal Reports 2011 on the same machine as Dashboard Design 2011 or Presentation Design 2011, then there may be a problem with the registry key that points to the location of the keydecoder DLL. To check this, launch run regedit and navigate to the following location:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SAP BusinessObjects\Suite XI 4.0\Shared Tools\keydecoder.dll
You want to make sure that the "path" key is pointing to the valid path for the keydecoder.dll. The correct path to the DLL should be: C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\win32_x8keydecoder.dll.
Uppercase License Key
In addition to the above, you need to make sure that you are entering the license key in all uppercase characters. There is a current issue with the installer where it does not accept lower case characters.
Fix - Coming in SP02, but can implement manually for now
Locate the BCM-4-0.dll.2.Config file in the <install package directory>\dunit\product.crystalreports-4.0-core-32\actions
(replace crystalreports with crystalreportsjava for CR for Ent and xcelsius for dashboards)
Open BCM-4-0.dll.2.Config
Locate this line:
<bindingRedirect oldVersion="8.0.50727.0-8.0.50727.1434" newVersion="8.0.50727.4053" />
Modify the oldVersion number to make the line like this one:

This should allow you to install without issue.
Further Troubleshooting
If none of the above helps to resolve the issue, then we need the following:
The installation logs from the following folder: C:\Documents and Settings\<YOUR USER NAME>\Local Settings\Temp\<DATE OF YOUR LAST ATTEMPTED INSTALLATION>
The results from attempting to run the keycode validator directly. You can find it under the folders that contain the installation package. For example, C:\Documents and Settings\<YOUR USER NAME>\My Documents\CrystalReports2011\DATA_UNITS\CrystalReports\dunit\product.crystalreports-4.0-core 32\actions\isKeyCodeValid.exe -keycode <YOUR KEYCODE> -version 140 -property CR.EnableCR
You should submit a new forum post with relevant details about the error and provide links to download the logs generated by following the above steps.

7. Make sure there is enough space on the computer. If not sure about the space, run "Custom" installation with minimum components. Non-mandatory components could be added at any time.
8. Finally, if there is an existing "InstallData" folder under C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects rename it to "InstallDataOLD"

Internal Sales Order imported with Line status "Booked".

Expecting a status of "Awaiting Shipment" in the line status but getting the status of "Booked".
checked the following metalink notes but did not help

Issue is resolved.
Earlier in 11i in ASCP, instance Org defintion is setup for only the required Inv org.
But in R12 we need to define for all the available Inv organisations.
Later after running the complete collections and running the ASCP plan resolved the issue.

Crystal Reports 2011 Upgrade edition not installing

Hi, I bought Crystal 2011 upgrade on Friday and have been trying to install it. It seems to complete the installation but in the end I get this error message after clicking on Finish button.
Missing installdir reg key for installiverse, required for uninstall.

Checking the Crystal Directory under Program Files showing only Chart Support subdirectory.
Need some help with this issue.

Companion CD for 10g R2 upgrade in Ebiz

Can anyone know why we require Companion CD in 10gR2 database upgrade in Ebiz 11.5.10.2 setup.

Some products/files are mandatory components and only exist on the companion CD, that's why you need to install it from the companion CD. For the list of products, refer to the link referenced above.

FRA´s datafile directory and tape backups

Hi again,
I have tried to find relevant information for my question, but instead of finding answers (again) which may or may not be helpful I hope someone can explain me.
We are running 10Gr2 databases with FRA´s enabled, currently backupping all using Oracle´s suggested backup to Disk devices.
Since we have copies of the datafiles in the FRA which takes up quite some (productional) storage space we are asked to stop the Disk backups, and backup things up to the tape device, which underwater is a TSM library.
How would this affect the occupance of the FRA? Will the datafile directory in the FRA be moved to the "tape" device if we implement (solely) tape backups; or is it only the backupsets and autobackups which would then be moved to tape?
I have tried several setups for which I wanted to set the datafile, backupset and autobackup directory out of the FRA, but I have not found a (working) way yet to set the datafile directory apart from it.
Advice or help are greatly appreciated.

Changing the backup location from FRA to an external device will only effect backups (backupsets or image copies of datafiles,controlfiles,spfile,archivelogs). Possible (but not mandatory) components of FRA are archivelogs,backup pieces,controlfiles,online logs,image copies and flashback logs.
For performance reasons it's better to continue using the FRA as first backup device. Extend your backup strategy by backing the FRA itself to tape in regular intervals.
'BACKUP RECOVERY AREA' backs up recovery files created in the current and all previous flash recovery area destinations. Recovery files are full and incremental backup sets, control file autobackups, archived logs, and datafile copies. Flashback logs, the current control file, and online redo logs are not backed up.
The backup must go to a tape device, so RMAN issues an error if no sbt channels are allocated or configured.
Or use
'BACKUP RECOVERY FILES'. It backs up all recovery files on disk, whether they are stored in the flash recovery area or another locations on disk. Recovery files include full and incremental backup sets, control file autobackups, archived logs, and datafile copies.
