Essbase 11.1.2.1 Visualize & explorer Error

I am currently trying to install Essbase 11.1.2.1 Excel Add-in, but on our system we have to change the default install location from C:\Oracle\Middleware\.... to "C:\program files\oracle\Middleware\...." most of the application works apart from one bit.
When you click on "Visualize & Explorer" on the essbase menu I getting the following error:
The selected file cannot be opened because it does not exist or you do not have permissions to access it the file should be located at: Files\Oracle\Middleware\....\HVE.exe ****** note the missing "C:\program"
I’m guessing that is doesn’t like the white space in "Program Files", so I changed the registry entries to "Progra~1" and by putting the file path in speech marks, but to no avail.
It appears to be in the essxleqd.xla or essxleqd.xll, but when attempt to open these it ask for a password which I can’t seem to find on the net.
Any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated.

I had a look in the HVE.DLL and i couldnt find anything regarding where it is calling the HVE.exe from. Thats why I believe that the information could stored in the XLA/XLL

***Hyperion Planning**** Partitioning Question.
Would Partitioning work in the case of the Hyperion Planning below?
Example:
Clothes Company, the Main Application contains all the clothes mades
by the company in all it's divisions. Jeans and Shirts for this example.
Then we have the Jeans division. In this applicaiton contains all the
data related to jeans (only, no Shirts data). When the modify thier budget
numbers these are then updated/transfered back to the Main Application
(HQ if you will)
Then we would have the same thing for the shirt division.
Now, these three applications ( Main, Jeans and Shirts ) are all on
independent servers applications. Main is where everything happens
where it's linked to the GL. If there is a new account it is created
in the GL synced to the Main and then synced to jeans and shirts.
Jeans updates it's budget data for example and this is then
transferred back to Main. Same thing for Shirts.
The goal here is to decentralize the Hyperion Planning Budget sequence
so that each division can work on there budget independently and that
the results of their work is returned to the Clothes Company HQ which
will then update the Clothes Company GL, only Mains talks to the GL.
What in your expert / experience the best way to archive this with
Hyperion Planning?
Hyperion Planning has a relational meta-data repository.
What would I need to sync between Jeans which contains updated budget
data back to Main?
Relational Planning meta-data,
Essbase meta-data
Essbase data?
What is the best way to do this? Is Partitioning the solution?
Does this work also with Hyperion Planning?

Cannot delete file - tried everything - file in use by Windows Explorer error

Hi - I have tried now for 2-3 hours trying to delete an .mkv file from my "Downloads" folder
It says the file is in use by Windows Explorer and cannot be deleted
I have tried deleting it using Del command prompt as me and as Administrator (I am the Admnistrator, there are no other users) - no luck
I have tried Safe Boot and then deleting - no luck
I have tried rebooting many times and then deleting - no luck
Any ideas? It's driving me nuts

hi to all who have this bug- "file in use by Windows Explorer error"
this is the only way that it works:
1.type cmd in search box
2.go to the drive and the directory the file is in ,for example:
after you type cmd you have a black screen with c:\user\
type in the drive the file is in and hit enter example - d: than hit enter
than you should see d:\>
now click the directory the problem file is in ,for example i will call the directory "movies" type in this- cd movies
now you will see this d:\movies>
to delete the file type this: del filename.mkv (dont forget the .mkv or any other file extension) don't hit enter yet, first open task manager (cntrl+shift+esc) go to process tab than right click on explorer.exe choose and click on end process
now your desktop should disappear. get back to the "cmd" window and hit enter.
now the file is deleted. now go back to the task manager and click on "file" on the upper left corner then on new task then type in "explorer.exe"
and you are done
please note that the file name you choose to delete cant be with spaces between the letters .if so you will need to change it in the same way in the cmd window only the comand will be instead of "del filename.mkv"(for example) after you are in the
right drive and directory:
rename "test space.mkv" testspace.mkv

Instead of running a CMD prompt and typing everything, just start up Winrar or Winzip, kill Explorer, then delete problem MKV files to your hearts content within Winrar or Winzip.
Winrar and Winzip will navigate your folders as well.
After you are done, create a new Explorer task.
or..... if you need to rename MKV files, just rename them within Winrar/Winzip with Explorer not running.
I change the MKV extension to AVI (in Winrar with Explorer killed) in order to avoid Explorer issues, if I ever want to move the files in the future without needing to kill Explorer all the time to do so .
Using WinRAR works for me. Using the cmd function becomes complicated when I cannot rename my file with the rename command".

KM Document iView - Internet Explorer Error

Hi All,
I have uploaded word docs to KM and then proceeded to create KM Doc iViews which link to the word docs. When I preview the iView i get a dialog box asking me whether I want to open, save or cancel. If I click either open or save I get an internet explorer error which says "Internet Explorer cannot download...[filepathandname] from [hosturl]. Internet Explorer was not able to open this site. The requested url is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later."
What am I doing wrong?
Also, shouldn't the files contents be displayed in the iView instead of opening up Microsoft Word?

Yes I have checked the path, and it is the correct one, it does contain the %20 escape characters too. But one thing you mentioned that I noticed may not be right is the fact the when I am actually in KM and I click the uploaded word document I get the same IE error. Does this mean that the document hasn't uploaded correctly? KM obviously knows that there is a word doc there because the download dialog box shows the Name, File Type and Host details. Another thing I noticed this time around was that the host details from when I click on the KM doc link is different from the path host in the KM doc iView, I think this is resulting from using BigIP to mask url details/load balancing?
Any suggestions?

Get a internet explorer error message when trying to save the exported document

I get through the export process until it asks to save the exported document and then I get an internet explorer error that tells me it is shutting down the program

I have just instal EP6 SP9 , nw04 SR1.
When i try to create a room in collaboration - it pops up with this Internet Explorer Error : "Internet Explorer cannot open the internet site

I hear if you update teh portal to the latest stack- this problem will be solved. Is this true?
I am busy downloading SAPINST12_0-10002786.sar from service market place to update Ep6 SP9 to EP6 SP12.

I have downloaded all the packages i need for was, portal. Thou i have only found KMCSP11_p3...and i understand i need to install KMCSP11_0 first. Where can I find KMCSP11_0. this is not under Support Packages-netweaver-ep-cm+collab.

you form is running in the browser with the help of Jinitiator which is nothing but A JavaInitiator.
as your machine files located in the System32 folder of your windows directory as .DLL. are not able to communicate with the Jinitiator DLL Files being used
for the JRE.
The Form is sending the request to the internet explorer to run the object of applet ttype which is nothing but the Oracle Java Applet named as OC4J(Oracle Container for Java)
if your form is running or trying to run and hangged due to some problems and your machine got abnormal shutdown then at that time the DLL fiels communicating each other may got corrupt
due to any abmormal shutdown of your machine...
the problem is there with the Java Side...
There is no solution other then reloading the JRE and Jinitiator as per the error being thrown by your machine

Explorer error "Failed to retrieve the Information Spaces list." from HANA

I am getting this dumb error "Failed to retrieve the Information Spaces list. // Request timed out" in Explorer's "Manage Spaces" area every time I click on the analytic view listed under my HANA sources of the Explorer. So, my HANA source is visible, and analytic views are visible in Explorer as well, but I cannot get any Information Space created because of the error, and I could not find the error and its causes in Explorer docs.

- upgraded HANA db to Rev 18 (for some reasons I cannot u[grade this system to SPS3 yet) and BIP and Explorer 4.0 are on the latest Patch 8 of SP2.
- configured connection using IDT defined connection,
- restarted servers in CMS already 100s of times.
There is enough free space on the BO server's drive: 33GB. BO is a single server based on Win2008 R2 SP1 with 40GB RAM.
Any ideas what else I can do to get rid of this issue? It is a test server, so I cannot open customer msg to SAP Support.

Try increasing the timeout under

from

Business Explorer Error after installation of SAP GUI 7.10

Hi Experts
we have installed SAP GUI 7.10 successfully and there seems to be an error on Business Explorer.. while processing some of the queries in designer it gives out an error message " critical program error occured.The program has to close.Please refer to the trace for further information" this caused the entire application to close.
Trace : Error(08.11.07 15:19:10.965): mode completion failed, rc=-1 (error=6 UI ThreadHdl=1436)

I have updated the GUI for the latest patch , that is 5. and still at sometimes when using query designer "critical Error" msg used to appear.. i have checked the logs but it doesnt give out any clue why this error occurs.. if ya have any suggestion please let me inform as well..

Package Explorer Error

Hi,
today I uninstalled Flash Builder 4.0 and installed 4.0.1 Version. After activating FB, I opened and got the following error in the Package Explorer.
Could not create the view: Plug-in "com.adobe.flexbuilder.as.editor" was unable to instantiate class "com.adobe.flexbuilder.as.editor.ui.packageexplorer.FlexPackageExplorer".
Why is FB giving this error?

Thanks for the solution.
Before doing that, I changed my workspace form default FB workspace to my old workspace. After doing that, it did not show any errors. Maybe it has something to do with windows 7 and the relative/absolute path problems, because after connected to company network, there was no problem. I had a similiar problem with Flash Catalyst but was a long time ago. Anyway, the "-clean" solution is working too. Thanks for the help.

Publishing SCORM Productivity Pack files to Repository Explorer - Error

We have recently started using SAP Productivity Pack and completed an e-learning course using the product which we published as SCORM 1.2. I have not been able to correct this despite running SAP Note 1528650. I also know there was an issue in Prod Pack with the IMSMANIFEST.XML output which I also corrected but this has not helped the checking-in of the file to the Repository Explorer.

Hi Kristina, yes we resolved our issue with publishing Prod Pack content to the LSO repository. It was not the size of the files, rather an internal infrastructure limitation on the HTTP requests allowed per minute. We increased the limitation and since then have had no issues.

Windows Server 2008 Explorer error when i right click on folder

I have installed a new Windows Server 2008 64-bit, update it to latest.
I have a problem that happens when i right click on a folder. The error only happens if i right click on a folder that has only 1 character long folder name. Doesn't matter if the name is for example: "1" or "a" or "f", the explorer.exe crashes and gives me

The error happened to me on different pc before so it is not related to hardware. The problem happens also if i create folder on desktop, problem stays if i create a new account, the problem goes away if i rename the folder to at least 2 character long name
(for example: "1a", "de"), by slowly double click it. If i go to Start --> Computer --> Local Disk (C:) --> create New Folder with 1 character long name and than go to Organize, i can cut, but not do the same to paste the folder inside another location,
because the error happens.
I didn't install Visual Studio.
How to solve the problem ?

Please perform the following things
1) Perform a clean boot

Essbase 9.3.1.3 Client Installation Error

We have a handful of users who are experiencing the following error message when launching Excel.
Failed in GCSetLocale(). Please contact your database administrator for more information.*
The issues persists on both Office 2003 and Office 2007 and does not appear to follow any pattern. Users who had been running the 9.3.1.3 Client without issue suddenly began experiencing this which renders it useless.
I’ve had users uninstall and reinstall the add-in and it does not solve the issue.
Looking upon my Essbase cohorts for expertise.

Right click on MY COMPUTER->PROPERTIES->ADVANCED TAB->ENVIRONMENT VARIABLES. Set PATH and ARBORPATH for the user variable to where your client is located. For ex ARBORPATH will be C:\Hyperion\EssClient and PATH will be C:\Hyperion\EssClient\bin. Under system variable also change the ARBORPATH to C:\Hyperion\EssClient and for path add C:\Hyperion\EssClient\bin to the beginning.

Oracle forms 11g running forms on internet explorer error

Hi , this is abhishek I am new to oracle forms 11g . My question is that when I run the forms 11g on internet explorer it shows an error . The error is too many tries.
first I like to clarify that before running the forms i start the weblogic server ,along with admin server for weblogic and opmn managed components, i give the user name and password to start the weblogic server, everything starts smoothly . even I have jre 1_6_29 installed to start the servlet . Main problem starts when the java runs the internet explorer browser then a box appears asking for user name and password and database connect string , then after putting the username and password it again asks for the username and password.It happens three times and after that an error appears in a dialog box which shows too many tries . I also checked the net configuration asistant with the local net service name configuration there it shows the service name which is orcl.Home and then TCP --->Host name is localhost with 1521 as standard port number --> yes perform the test and the result is written connecting test successful . what is wrong with the instance , the http listener is working perfectly then why this error is coming, is there something to do with the browser , but the browser is supporting java very well .. please help

I have found the file but it does not have any path except forms_path,oracle_home,webutil_config,etcCurious, my default.env had the following default TNS_ADMIN entry:

Internet Explorer error when running my demo

I created a demo, an interactive software simulation and a quiz in Captivate. I published it and then zipped it up and took the zip file over to the media folder in Microsoft's LMS or LCDS. When I preview or run it, I continually get Internet Explorer script errors. It seems to get it at each slide. I can say Yes through each error and the each piece runs correctly. I get an object oriented error, a null is null 0 or not an object and and object required error depending on which piece I am viewing. I have done all the various things that are suggested to do when you get Internet Explorer script errors. It runs fine in captivate. I created a quick demo in Camtasia and it runs fine. I have talked to Microsoft and they can't seem to help me. Has anyone used this tool or run into this before? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. BTW I am running Internet Explorer 8, XP OS with service pack 3 installed.

Perhaps I misunderstand, but why did you zip it up yourself instead of having it zipped by Captivate? For uploading to our LMS I always choose that option, worth trying not?
