Essbase 11.1.3 Perormance Issue on windows 2003 64bit

When I run a calculation script on the essbase 11.1.3 which installed on windows 2003 64bit, it takes me 100 seconds to finish it. But when I run the same calculation script with the same data, same database OTL and same database configuration on essbase 9.3.1 which installed on window 2003 32 bit, it only takes me 50 seconds to finish it. It means essbase 11.1.3 have some Perormance Issue on windows 2003 64bit? or can anybody help me to make the essbase 11.1.3 intalled on windows 2003 64bit as fast as the essbase 9.3.1 installed on window 2003 32 bit?

If you set all of the configurations the same as your 32-bit server, you may not be properly optimized. There are a couple of ODTUG Kaleidoscope presentations that talk about 64-bit optimization:

You have to be at least a (free) Associate Member of ODTUG to download these presentations but, if you are serious about Essbase, you should be a (full) ODTUG member anyway.

  • Content Server 6.40 on Windows 2003 64bit

    Hello everyone,
I'm trying to find any kind of information on Content Server 6.40 on a 64 bit windows machine.
The latest doc I can find is about 6.30 on a windows 2000 machine.
The reason why i'm looking for this doc is because i have a lot of questions.
I installed CS 6.40 on the windows 2003 64bit machine with MaxDB 7.6.01.08. (Deliverd with 2004S SR2). During the install sapinst ask for the packages to install. When asking for Maxdb i give the path for "Maxdb_Windows_i86_64". After the install I see he installed the package "Maxdb_Windows_I386".
Why does he not install the 64bit version? Is it hard code to take the 32bit? so why giving the possibility to install the 64 bit for Maxdb?
after the install i downloaded the CD maxdb 7.6.03 (50092483_3) from sap and tried to install it with the new cd. Install is not working.
Even an upgrade of Maxdb from 32 bit to 32 bit and from 32 bit to 64 bit is not working.
I even tried to download the updates from mysql website which redirect to sdn.
I can't be the only one with this kind of problem.
hope there is some who can help me
    thanks in advance.

  • MAC (10.6.8) users having permission issues with windows 2003 AD and NetApp SAN environment.

I have created a cifs share that is being accessed by Mac users that are part of a windows 2003 AD.  When the user edit data and save it back to the share, the security permission are reset and none of the other users can see the new data unless the permissions are refreshed on the windows server. I have found following links that talk about a similar issue but with an older MAC OS. I am using 10.6.8.

This is a 'known problem' as discussed on the MacWindows site, see http://www.macwindows.com/More-on-OS-X-conflicts-with-Windows-Server-Deduplicati on.html
It appears to still affect Mavericks 10.9.5 at least from the lack of any positive reports to the contrary. It is perhaps a bit late but it would have been worth signing up for the public beta of Yosemite and testing that and if needed reporting it as an issue for Yosemite as this will be getting more bug fix attention than Mavericks now.
I would agree turning off de-duplication is not a desirable solution, however other possibilities to consider are installing the standard Samba software on a Mac and using that instead of Apple's SMBx software. This is done by using the SMBup installer See http://eduo.info/2013/07/13/smbup-faq it does not officially list Mavericks but I did see at least one report that it still worked. A second possibility is to install ExtremeZ-IP which installs an AFP server on to your Windows Server and also gives the bonus of supporting Spotlight searches.
Note: You should only try SMBup on a test setup first.

  • Multiple RDS Device CALs Issued through Windows 2003 RDS Hosts

    Environment
Windows 2012 R2 RDS license server issuing device CALs
    5 Citrix farms (PS4, PS4.5, XA5, XA6, and XA6.5)
    Symptoms
    - RDS device CALs issued through the PS4/Windows 2003 R2 and PS4.5/Windows 2003 R2 servers show the Citrix server name in the Window 2012 R2 RD license manager console instead of the workstation name (See below).
    - The PS4/Windows 2003 R2 and PS4.5/Windows 2003 R2 servers are issuing a large number of device CALs to workstations.  For example, we have two PS4/Windows 2003 R2 servers that publish a single application.  There are 20 users
of the applications with dedicated workstations that should all have a device CAL, but everyday I see device CALs being issued from these servers (See below).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.
     Scott

    Hi Scott,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
Have you find any Error\Event Id for this case?
From the description it appears that there is some misconfiguration for redirecting the server during load balancing the device CAL among the server and that’s why device is getting misplaced. You can please relook at configuration for License server with following
    article.

    Hi all,
I am using a xeon 4 CPU machine with Windows 2003 (64 bit). I just downloaded Oracle 9.2 (64 bit) and found that it needs Itanium processor. Is this an absolute requirement? Can I still run it on xeon? What are the problems?

  • Acrobat 8 issues on Windows 7 64bit

    Hello,
I am thinking about switching to Windows 7 64bit soon, so I tried to install CS3 on the RC. Unfortunately Acrobat 8 doesn't seem to work properly on that operating system (I tried reinstalling or repairing it several times) - even after installing all updates. The Office 2007 plugin as well as the Internet Explorer plugin keep popping up error messages or crashing while generating pdfs and Firefox can't even display pdfs inside the browser.
Is there a solution to this problem?
    Regards,
    Fabian

Now that Microsoft 7 is out as REAL software, how will I get updates for Acrobate 8?  Currently, I can't install Acrobat 8 on my new laptop with MS 7 because it is looking for a VISTA .dll file.
Am I going to have to pay $300 or $400 on a full version of Acrobat 9 (or 10) that will be compatible with MS 7?

  • Setup Guide (detailed) for Windows 2003 64bit

I am thinking of writing a comprehensive guide to installing and running Windows Server2003 for AMD64bit. I have been running this setup for three days now and have done exhaustive testing. I have it running like a workstation and have full directx9 hadware acceleration on the ATI9800Pro, promise SATA Raid 0 is sweet and now have the Audio and network drivers installed and working without issue.
It is a rather complex procedure but it is well worth it to experience 64bit windows.
As a tatster  Sandra File Benchmarks on my Raid 0 are 127500 a new record, PCMark2002 drive score 4333 another record, PIfast bench (Hexus Uk) 53 seconds another record, 3DMark2003 6350 with the microsoft drivers no overclocking of card.
If there is sufficient interest I will do this.
The beta version is downloadable from Microsoft for free.
I would require hosting for screenies and driver download links...so any help appreciated.
Please register your interest and I will get to it if there is enough to justify the time.

I have found a superb guide that shows you how to change Windows Server2003 into a Workstation. So as I do not approve of plagiarism I will link you all to it, it is an excellent guide and I wish id seen it before my adventure. This guide was written for the 32bit edition, most of it is correct but you ignore the refernce to installing Direct X as it is already included, also ignore the section covering Themes.

Some specific things you will need on the K8T Neo
If you install with cool & quiet support enabled in bios it must remain enabled otherwise you will fail to boot to the desktop.
There is no need to install the AMD cool & quiet driver.
There are drivers for the Network card and the Audio Codec, if someone will host them for me i will mail them to them, the Audio driver is already listed here in the forum. I would appreciate a mod linking to it in here.
Do not try and install any drivers that only support 32bit windows xp, they will interfere with your 64 bit driver installation.
The best way to install your drivers is by using the Have Disk method.
For best results use an Ethernet based modem or a router, as there is limited support for USB based DSL modems. Also there is no Integrated Firewall in thsi edition, so if you do not have one try using Zone Alarm.
The promise raid drivers are available directly from Promise here is a link
    Promise 64bit Raid drivers
    LINK http://www.promise.com/support/download/download2_eng.asp?productId=107&category=driver&os=0
You can use these with just one drive installed, just set up a single drive raid in the Promise Bios. You must use the F6 floppy install during set up.
My preferred order of things, is to follow the guide first, then install your new drivers.
One thing to note is the increased memory efficiency, the os will use up as much as it can. Also multitasking is smoother. All in all for a Beta it is very stable.
Anything else I can think of I will add later..

    Hi,
I am trying to install the BOE XI 3.1 client tools on a 64bit Windows 2003 R2 SP2 machine (used as Windows Terminal Server) and I get the message that importent6.dll and exportSDK.dll fail to register during the installation.
Did anyone of you out there had a similar problem so far? Due to the error I cannot get the import wizard installed.
Additionally it would be interesting to know if it is possible to use the import wizard XI 3.1  as a terminal server application in a WTS (64bit) environment.
    Regards,

    Hi,
with regards to the "(x86)" folder i would not recommend installing the BOE Client Tools into that folder. Please create a own Folder (you can for sure do this on drive D:) and install it into the folder. You could create a "Program Files" folder instead of installing it into the "Program Files (x86)" Folder.

  • 27" i7 - HDCP issue in Windows 7 64Bit

    Hi,
I have a LG External Blu Ray Writer connected via USB. When I installed Windows 7 (Bootcamp) 64 Bit, everything appeared to work - mouse, display, sound etc. However, when I attempt to play a Blu Ray I get a HDCP error. It advises me to install a 'BD Advisor' tool that came with my CyberLink Blu Ray Playback software. It tells me that the video card AND display are not HDCP compliant... but why not? Surely they are - the ATI 4850m card should be and the iMac BETTER BE!

These guys got it working on 32 bit Vista:
