Essbase 6.1.4 Client compatibility with Win-Server 2008.

Hi Friends,
I am looking to install Hyperion Essbase 6.1.4 Client Version on Windows Server 2008.
Can you please let me know if this version is compatible with the Windows Server 2008?
TIA,
KRIS

In addition to Nathan's comments this would be a platform that Oracle hasn't regression tested. So even if it were to appear to work if you encountered an issue Oracle would be justified and asking you to re-create the same issue on a supported platform.
In my opinion if this is a production application this is a risk you should not take.
If you are playing with an internal environment and want to learn more about Win2K8 that's one thing. Realizing most folks will give you the "It's not supported line" when you start asking why EPMA, FDM, and HFM do not work with IIS 7.x

  • JMS Compatibility with Windows Server 2008

Our product uses the JBoss 4.0.4 as an application server. Currently we are supporting Windows Server 2003 and planning to support Windows Server 2008. We want to know that is JMS fully compatible with Windows Server 2008 (64 bit)?
Please respond if anybody has any idea.
    Thanks

JMS services are provided by your container (JBoss) not your operating system.
You should just make sure that your container version is supported on your operating system version.

  • RH Server 9 compatibility with Windows Server 2008 SP2/SQL Server

Our tech support people are preparing for a first install of RH Server 9. They have asked me to find out whether there is a recent patch that would enable it to work with Windows Server 2008 SP2 64 bit and MS SQL Server 2008.
If there is not yet a patch, will there be one for this OS/DB combination in the future, and when?
This is in reference to the knowledgebase article at http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/884/cpsid_88483.html which gives a "not recommended" status to this combination.
Our infrastructure team would prefer to use this combination if it is possible.
Second question from the tech team: Do we need to separate the RoboHelp application from the database or can they both reside on the same server?

To answer your first question, no there is no patch to allow SQL Server 2008 to run on a 64 bit server. To answer your second question, I don't know. This is a user to user forum and therefore we are not party to any discussions on when or if a patch will be released. You could sumbit a feature request which the Adobe RoboHelp Product Manager will get. This will help advance your case. You can submit it here:

  • Crystal Reports 10 Compatibility with Windows Server 2008 R2

Hello I'm a developer and I'm in the process of migrating my ASP.NET application that uses crystal reports 10 from a win2k3 server to a win2k8 R2 server.
First of all, is CR 10 compatible with windows server 2008 R2?
The application is up and running on the new server, the only thing that fails is the reports. I get the following error message:
    Error in file ....c:\windows\temp\{TEMP_FILE_NAME}.rtp
Failed to create the Crystal Query Engine.
    This occurs at report.load(..)
I did already grant NETWORK SERVICE access to Temp and ran the CR redistribute msi that came with Visual Studio 2008 - CRRedist2008_x64.msi.
    Please help

    YESSSS!!!! IT WORKS!!
Finally, after days of installing, uninstalling, setting permissions, crawling through process monitor output.. I finally have it working.
For anyone with the same problem, here's what worked for me:
I had to use the 32-bit runtime
    set application pool to 32-bit
grant the following permissions based on the different errors listed below:
    Error in File UNKNOWN.RPT
    - Give NETWORK SERVICE list permission on C: Drive, run a report, then remove NETWORK SERVICE from the list (weird, but works, and I had to do this every single time I setup Crystal Reports on a new computer so far).
    - You might also have to set correct permission on 'Temp' if u get still get this error.
    Error in file ....c:\windows\temp.rtp
Failed to create the Crystal Query Engine
    - Grant correct permission to C:\Program Files (x86)\Business Objects (your path may vary)
(For me it was giving Users Modify permission to Business Objects folder)
Unknown Query Engine ErrorError in File C:\Windows\TEMP\.rpt:
    Unknown Query Engine Error
    - Switch application pool to 32-bit.
    - Make sure Crystal Reports Runtime is 32-bit (CRRedist2008_x86.msi)
Thank you guys so much for all your help and sticking through this with me.

  • MI 2.5 mobile client compatibility with MI server on SAP Netweaver 7.1

    Hi folks,
Please let me know if Mobile client 2.5 on a laptop or Mobile is compatible with MI server on SAP Netweaver Mobile 7.1.
We are planning for mass migration of devices with data to be moved from SAP netweaver 2004 to SAP Netweaver Mobile 7.1
Keep in mind we will still have the old version of MI client that is MI 2.5 mobile client
    Regards,
    Kalyan

    Dear Kalyan,
That is what I tried to explain briefly in your other thread.
No. you cannot use the 2.5 client to connect/ sync with 7.1 server. Even when the device info is migrated to the server, devices are handled in a different way in 7.1. For example in 2.5,7.0 you sync to get an id. In 7.1, you create a device (Data Orchestration Engine Admin)  and enable it. When you syn the client for the first time, this gets assigned to the client or in other words, the client is authenticated to a new device.
Please note that there are a whole lot of other things that are different in 7.1.
Hope that gives a better picture. Check out the help.sap.com link for 7.1 (unfortunately u may have to read a lot in different parts of the help tree to get a better understanding, but as I said earlier, forum posts cannot be too elaborate and most of the posts if you see, tend to be abstract) Also why try to abstract something when the full details are available online @ help.sap.com or sdn help documents

  • Windows Server 2012 Group Policy Block USB Storage devices @ User Level Not getting applied on a Domain Client machine with Windows Server 2008 R2. Why?

    Hello,
    I have a Windows Server 2012 R2.
I have configured the Group Policy on it to block the usage of USB - Storage Devices @ user level on the client machines. It works properly for my Windows 7 client machines but it's not working on one of the machine having Windows Server 2008 R2 installed
on it (this machine is also a domain client in the same domain).
I will really be thankful if anyone can suggest some solution to this issue.
Please feel free to write back in-case I have missed anything obvious to be shared.
    Thanks!

  • OCS 2007 compatibility with Windows Server 2008 R2 x64

Hi, we have OCS 2007 installed on our Windows 2003 R2 Standard X64 Production Server and are moving to Windows 2008 R2 X64.
I've been looking at a few support articles out there (e.g. http://support2.microsoft.com/kb/982021) and noticed that they're saying it (is) compatible.
I would appreciate a definite answer from you experts out there on this so I'll know definitely if we can proceed with our upgrade or not.

To be clear, if this is OCS 2007 R2, then yes it will run fine on Server 2008 R2.  If it's OCS 2007 (not R2), that would not be supported.

  • UCCE 9.x design with Win Server 2008 R2

    hi all,
How should i plan my partitions in Win 2008 Server design if staging guide to UCCE 9 tells about having partiton C and D, but doesn't have reccomendations in allocations.
Our customer got 125 Call Agents, and here are recomendations for virtualising in attached file below.
In  my opinion for SQL server machines i should separate between Disk C and Disk D moving all DB data to D. But in a case of Win 2008 machines w/o SQl 2005 server possible to leave Disk C only.
    Any comments would be appreciated!

The OVA files don't have windows and mssql.. perhaps i mislead you with this didnt mean to...
The OVA files contain the virtual machine configuration only (how many vCPU, vRAM, vHDD, ...). The supported method for deployment of the UCCE system is to create the virtual machines using the OVA files..
For the ROGGER and AW-HDS virtual machines, the OVA file creates 2 harddisks (which will map to C and D drives). For the PG, the OVA file only contains a single harddisk (C).
You will then install windows and mssql on the virtual machines yourself. However, you don't have to worry on how many drives or the resources configuration, as this will be automatic

  • Remote Desktop Connection certification issue with Win Server 2008 R2

When connecting to Windows 2008 server R2, from Windows 7, Vista and Mac OS 10.6.7 via Remote Desktop Connection, i am getting a 'Server Name on the Certificate is Incorrect' error.
if i click connect, i can still connect to the machine, due to a 3rd party managing the server, this doesn't look very professional on my part...
The server is a standalone machine and is not currently on a domain. RDC is only used for management purposes.

    Hi,
This certificate error is normal, because your client do not trust the certificate which is installed on the terminal server. To avoid this issue,
you can export the certificate and import this certificate into the client side (computer account).
    Thanks.

  • HP T410 AIO and Win Server 2008 R2 Standard

    Hi
I am trying to connect some HP t410 AIO thin client to a Win Server 2008 R2 Standad  edition server. I added the  Remote Desktop Services and Web SErver(IIS) as roles on the server. The goal is to be able to connect to the Server using the Web
Brower connection type available on the HP t410 AIO thin client I understand that to connect more that two clients to the server  you need to obtain RDS CALs, We contacted a MS parter to purchase the CALs and received a ling to download the CALs, but
none of the items in the link seem to be what I think we need. The page has about 17 items MS application Virtualixation for RDS, MS Appication Virtualization  Hosting for Desktpos and one entry for Win Remote Desktop Srvcs CAL 4.5 wSP1. Questio :
What is the correct name of the CALs that I need to install on the server?
How do I configure the server to accect the Web Browser type connection from the thin client?
Currently I can connect to the server using a RDP 7 connection and logging in as Administrator. When I try to log in with a user created under AD,  I get a response complaining that " to log on to this remote computer, you must be granted the Allow
log on through Terminal Services right." Where do I configure that? Thanks

  • Yosemite compatibility with microsoft word 2008

I had held off on upgrading to Mavericks because of the issues surrounding the compatibility with Microsoft Word 2008. I am a student and need to use Word to do my work as well as having all of my current documents, including my thesis, in 2008 format. I don't want to risk losing the information or the ability to do my work and I was wondering if there is any information about whether the issue of compatibility with this version had been fixed. I don't have the means to buy a new version of Microsoft but would very much like to be able to update my system since I am still using Mountain Lion.

There has been a better and free alternative to old versions of MS Word and MS Office since forever. Apache OpenOffice 4.1.1 is the latest version of a free and complete All-In-One document processor, spreadsheet, drawing, presentation, database, & formula software, found here: http://www.openoffice.org
It also reads, writes and translates MS Word, saves in many formats, and is pretty easy to use. It's entirely modern and compatible with all the latest Mac operating systems. Good luck.
