Essbase Disconnect in Excel

If you retreive on a sheet and then close the sheet without exiting Excel, Essbase retains the connection infromation. That is, when I look at Essbase...Disconnect the file/sheet is still there.Are there known problems associated with this that I should keep an eye out for?Example: If I retrieve multiple tabs in a file from one database with each sheet after the first using the login information of the first sheet (no explicit login on each sheet) and then close the file and do the retrieves again from a different database, the second and later sheets will use the original database instead of the second.Harold

I'd be very careful about relying on which database a particular sheet is connected to. If you have to deal with more than one database at a time, it's probably best to connect on each sheet before it's retrieved to make sure. Disconnecting completely from a database can be difficult as you need to disconnect every sheet which was retrieved in.JC

How to use costiron (IBM Product) to integrate Essbase with Oracle EBS

Is anyone ever used CostIron (IBM Product/services) with Essbase/Hyperion.
secondly as a best prctice how to load actuals from Oracle EBS into essbase.

Hi Kumar,
CostIron might be a niche technology, so few people (if any) on this board might have worked with it.
Regarding the load from actuals from Oracle EBS to Essbase, I have loaded full EBS data for a large multi national to Essbase.
You would be best suited using ASO technology which can handle large volumes of data. We use FDM to make sure that data mapping was correct as we were handling large volumes of data. Maintained hierarchies in DRM as normally EBS abnd Reporting hierarchies are not similar and multiple EBS accounts will be mapped to single accounts in Hyperion Reporting solution.

Hyperion Financial Reporting : Error 1001

While connecting from Hyperion Reports 7.0 to an Essbase cube (Ver 7.1.6.6) stored on another server, I am getting an error (Error 1001: Unable to connect to datasource) while running any report. However I am able to create reports using the metadata of the cubes.
The problem occurs only when I try executing any report. :-(
Is there any API issue out here?
Can anyone help me debug this situation?

In my case restart of Hyperion Financial Reporting - report server service helped and reports were available again.

¿Cómo cambiar una foto cuadrada a panorámica?

Hola a todos:
necesito cambiar la forma de un buen número de fotos, guardadas en mi ordenador para ponerlas en un marco digital en formato .jpg. El marco digital admite modos de visualización de 16:9 y de 4:3, pero si salen cuadradas se ven muy pequeñas y con laterales negros y si se ven alargadas se ven las cabezas apepinadas.
Si las cambio en Photoshop como yo creo que se hace (menú imagen-tamaño de imagen) al tamaño 480 x 234 pixeles, no me permite ese tamaño sino que automáticamente, al meter la primera cantidad, el ancho lo estables en 360 en vez de en 240; pero lo peor es que luego, al intentar verlas en un marco digital que es su destino final de 7" con una resolución de 480 X 234, se ven las cabezas apepinadas.
No sé si me explico, quisiera ver esas fotos alargadas pero sin que las cabezas estén apepinadas ¿Cómo lo hago?
Uso XP y Photoshop CS2, version 9.0
He consulatado la ayuda pero no lo veo claro porque parece que sólo hablan de video en ese tema y estoy hecha un lío. Al responder, no uséis lenguaje muy técnico porque soy casi una novata en esto.

A ver compañera, estás confundiendo tres conceptos. Te explico:
No puedes convertir a 16:9 una imagen 4:3 tal cual por varias razones. Si hablamos de vídeo (quen o es el caso pero para que lo entiendas) las televisiones hacen un pequeño reescalado y un corte superior e inferior para "encajar" la señal 4:3 en tu televisor panorámico. Al mismo tiempo, se supone que el pixel de la pantalla no es el de la TV, es más ancho que alto. Así, los televisores panórámicos "apepinan" como tú dices, las señales de 4:3. Eso se corrige normalmente, como te he dicho, con un pequeño corte superior e inferior.
Cuando hablamos de imagen jpg en monitores normales y estoy casi seguro que tu marco que admite jpg así lo es, el escalado de 4:3 es imposible a no ser que hagas un recorte en la imagen en la proporción adecuada 16:3, a la resolución, en este caso, que te de el marco digital.
Lo que tú estabas intentando hacer es reescalar la imagen en Imagen/Tamaño de imagen sin desbloquear el mantenimiento de la proporción, por lo que uno de ambos, ancho o alto, se modificará escaladamente cuando tú modifiques uno.
En definitiva, selecciona la herramienta recorte en la caja de herramientas y en el menú contextual superior asigna una ancho y alto en píxeles correspondiente a tu marco jpg y corta la imagen. Evidentemente, vas a tener que prescindir de elementos de la fotos tanto en la banda superior como inferior que dejas fuera al cortarla.

use essbase authentication on your analyzer server..then it goes to essbase for the passwords...

Data Load Transaction Aborted With Error [1130203]

I can't to load data by using rule file . How can I fixthis problem? it shown error message "Data Load TransactionAborted With Error [1130203]".My Essbase is ver 7.0.0.

Don't have that message. Have you lookedin the Application log to see if there is any more information - this is the best place to start. Is the file that you are trying to load the same format as previous files loaded - has anything changed ? maybe you need to open the load rue, and then open the file to see if teh data lines up with the expected format and setup of the load rule .

I burned disks of previously purchased content that is not available thru iTunes anymore but the latest ver. of iTunes won't let me copy this same content onto a new comp. Is there a way to do this or maybe an earlier ver. of iTunes to download?

Hi,
We're finishing our migration from 6.2 to 11.1.1.3.
Of course won't recommend to migrate directly... they will recommend going through different steps (v7, V9...) => useless I think.
Here what we did :
- Installed v11 (new server)
- copied objects from v6 to v11, tested and validated objects under v11
- for .sec, recreated the app/databases first then copied the v6 .sec on v11 server. Of course your server have to be installed with native securities then you may push to shared services.
- if you don't care about changing password you could handle it with maxl extracts or secman (but I had issues with secman).
Finally it's just like any migration

Essbase Ver 11 Download

I noticed the OTN download does not have Essbase Admin 11.1.1.2.0, though it does have the Provider services, client & server downloads for Essbase. The Essbase V9.3.1 also has all the modules. Can anyone explain why the Admin is missing on V11.1.1.2.0 ?

WRT54G Ver. 6 multi comp trouble :(

I have the router software set up on one of my comps and it runs fine but when i put the disk in the other computer it gets to the part where it checks computer settings then asks for the password and i enter the right password (changed it mulltiple times to be sure) then it just repeats the check of the comp settings and asks for the password again over and over... Please help me... Both pc's are wired in...

It seems an issue with Password ..... you can do one thing reset the router for few seconds ....while holding the router unplug & replug the power cable for few seconds .....
See if the default password admin is working or not .....

2 comp's, two ver winxp, 3 downloads, same error - Desktop fails to launch.

Symptoms:
Desktop manager fails to launch.
Installs fine - but afterwards, launching the application results in: rimbblaunchagent.exe loading into the process field of the Task Manager....and that's it.
No windows. No apps...no error msg...no nothing.
If I end task the process - and start again (either via the desktop launcher or going directly to the installed directory)... same thing.
Attempted Solutions:
Uninstalled/Reinstalled Application.
Downloaded a new copy of the Desktop software (http://www.blackberry.com/desktop)
Formatted the box with a different install disk for winxp.
once installed, I updated the patches, installed SP3, etc..
Also installed comodo internet security suit / Firefox 4, VLC, Spybot, WinRAR
-- Ran Spybot and immunized the system
-- In the firewall I locked IE from accessing the web
Downloaded new copy of desktop software
Choose, Run As: Administrator
Clean Install...etc.... Same End result.
The only things I see being the same between this new install and the old one are:
IE is behind the firewall
Spybot Immunization
I've reach the sticky's... seached the forums... used Google... and still striking out....
Question - Could IE being locked up be the issue?
I can't see how....but...
I'm new to Comodo firewall...not seeing how to remove IE from the blocked application list... I'll try to undo that part and try again...
Elsewise I'm wide open - Let me know.

Hmmm... could be a corrupt profile.
Try this.
1. Uninstall Access Connections (but don't delete the profiles)
2. After the reboot, open REGEDIT.
3. In the left pane, expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, then SOFTWARE, then Lenovo
4. Still in the left pane, right click on Access Connection and choose export
5. Assign an appropriate filename and click Save (I suggest somewhere on the Desktop).
6. Right click on Access Connections again and choose delete.
7. Open Windows Explorer and go to C:\Program Files\Thinkpad\ConnectUtilities directory.
8. Delete any files in this directory.
9. Reinstall Access Connections v5.50
10. Try and create a profile.
If you still get an error trying to create a profile, then something else is broken. Be sure you have .NET 3.5 SP1 (it may be under optional downloads in Windows Update).
If it works fine, then you have a bad profile. Unfortunately, there isn;t an easy way to figure out which one other than try and error of delete profiles and trying one at a time.
To restore your profiles.
1. Unistall Access Connections. Reboot.
2. Double click the saved .reg file on your Desktop and answer Yes to merge it into the registry.
3. Install Access Connections. Reboot.
