Essbase client 7.x support Office 2007

Hi All,
I hope, I will get answers for my below questions as great people are around here...
1. Does Essbase runtime client 7.1.2 support office 2007 or not ? If not , any reason?
1. Does Essbase runtime client 7.1.3 support office 2007 or not ? If not , any reason?
I would like to have look at support matrix for 7.x versions?
Please share If anyone have the same , I really appreciate your help.
Thanks,
KK

To be more precise, you asked if it was supported. It is not technically supported.
Does it work? Yes, usually.
My advice: disable the query designer if you don't need it. See my other recent posts for explanations.
The other issues:
- Double-click to zoom in: problematic under some configuration settings
- General availability: add the command bars to the quick access tool-bar to make it more readily available
- Occasional disappearance of essbase menu: security settings and/or query designer start up sequence
- Windows XP SP3: tends to aggravate the above issues (from rare to common)

  • Is Smartview add-ins support Office 2007 on Windows7?

    Dear all,
    Oracle said that Essbase add-in and Smarview Version 9.3.1 support Office 2007. However, they do not support Windows 7 as of yet. Is there any plan of having a patch for supporting Office 2007 running on Windows 7?
    Regards,

    Smart View 9.3.1.7 (released in April) supports Windows 7.

  • Does the Report Generation Toolkit support Office 2007?

    With the hot-out-of-the-oven Office 2007, Microsoft has done a complete overhaul of the Office environment that we all have spent many years learning to perfection (well.. almost). Lucky those who got a head start as part of the Office Beta program.
    Well, NI claims that the current version of the LabVIEW Report Generation Toolkit supports "Microsoft Office 2000 (Word, Excel, and Graph) or later" and therefore literally also the new Office 2007.
    I doubt that the ActiveX API has remained unchanged when developing Office 2007, so let's use this thread to uncover the experience you have with calling Office 2007 applications using the LabVIEW Report Generation Toolkit.
    Anyone???
    - Philip Courtois, Thinkbot Solutions

    We are currently working on a maintenance release for the Report Generation Toolkit to support Office 2007.  You can install the current toolkit with Office 2007, but you will have some problems.  If you copy the four LLBs from the Compatibility\Office 2003\vi.lib\addons\_office folder on your Report Generation Toolkit CD to the corresponding vi.lib\addons\_office location in your LabVIEW folder after installing the toolkit, things will work for the most part.  But you won't have 100% compatibility until the maintenance release is done.

    Dear expect,
    Does Smartviiew Version 9.3.0.1.1.004 support Office 2007?
    Does anyone has the readme or manual for this version?
    Please help!
    Thanks & regards,
    Annie

    Annie,
    We have had issue with Office 2007 and SmartView 9301 and had to upgrade to SV 931 along with APS 931.
    Following were the errors with SV 9301.
    1. Smart View version is not compatible with Office 2007
    * Excel crashes
    * Unable to use standard Excel functionality
    * Unable to save file
    * Unable to pivot
    * Hyperion menu/toolbar issue
    2. Current Smart View throws error while running rules/seq with hidden prompts
    Note: You can upgrade SV 931 only without upgrading other components. However you must upgrade APS as well otherwise it will not work.
    Good luck!

  • XLR and Office 2007

    Hi all.
    we have a cilent that earlier this year installed MS Office 2007 on terminal server. They had, at that time, an installation of SAP B1 2005A, and XLR did not support Office 2007 at the given patch level. This caused XLR to not function at all on the terminal server. We tried to install latest patch of XLR and several other suggestions from notes, but we had to install clients on local machines to use XLR feature.
    Now, we have upgraded our client to B1 2007 and would really like to run XLR on terminal server again. Still XLR will not start on terminal server, and we need to do some maintenance to get this up and running again. Has anyone encountered this problem? Can anyone suggest how to "clean up" terminal server and get it to run XLR again?
    Client is running on Windows Server 2003 R2. They are currently on SAP B1 2007A PL 41.
    Thanks and regards,
    Runar Wigestrand.

    Dear Runar,
    XLR with Office 2007A on 2007A SP00 PL41 is supported.
    Please make sure that you have completly uninstalled the previous version of XLR(2005A)
    before you have upgraded to 2007A version.
    In 2007A version XLR is included in the package, that means after installation of SAP Business One 2007 A
    it will be automatically installaed.
    If still you are getting any error message, please let send us the details information of the error message.

    The Report Generation Toolkit does probably not support Office 2007 yet. This is because the Office ActiveX interface used to change with each version and the Report Generation Toolkit comes with specific libraries for each of the Office versions it supports. With the wrong office version the Report Generation Toolkit VIs are normally broken and can't run without some more or less involved modifications.

  • XL-Reporter 2005 PL29 - Office 2007

    Hi fellows,
    I read many postings in this forum which stated that XLR 2005 PL29 does NOT run with MS Excel 2007.
    In the posting <XL Reporter with Office 7> by Irina Stanca from Sep. 9. 2007 I found a reply from Mr. Owen Slater which stated that XLR PL29 DOES RUN with MS Excel 2007.
    I myself WAS NOT ABLE to install XLR 2005 PL29 with MS Excel 2007 (based on SAP 2005A SP01 PL26)! The error message was <Excel has to be installed. Cannot find Excel.>
    At SAP I only could find contradicting information:
    1. On the XLR information page: ... XL Reporter currently supports Office 2007 only within the SAP Business One 2005 track.
    2. On the download/update page for XLR PL29: XL Reporter currently supports only Office 2003.
    Is there any common understanding if or if not XLR is running with Excel 2007?
    Maybe there are special settings you have to obey when installing XLR with Excel 2007?
    Thank you for any help!

  • PDFmaker 7 Hot buttons in Microsoft Office 2007

    We are using Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Standard and Professional. I have recently upgraded to Office 2007 and now we don't have quick buttons. There are quick buttons in Outlook 2007, but not in excel, powerpoint, or word. Is there a way to get the quick buttons in these office 2007 products? The adobe addin is there and installed, but no option for quick buttons. Thank You

    With the introduction of Version 8 Adobe is only providinr necessary updates for version 7 and not adding any additional furnctionality or support to new Mircrosoft products. Version 8 had to be updated to support Office 2007.

  • Does Oracle 11g index Office 2007 documents?

    I recently upgraded to 11g, because 10g didn't seem to index Office 2007 documents (e.g. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) or PDFs v1.5 or higher. I need to be able to search on text in those documents. Everything works fine for PDFs and files generated using earlier versions of Microsoft products, but not for Office 2007 documents. The Oracle documentation for 11g says that it supports Office 2007, but I haven't had any luck. Any thoughts?

    All download versions of Oracle software are the full versions. The 11.1.0.7 patchset will work with your downloaded 11.1.0.6, but you will need an Oracle Support account before you can download the patchset.
    I believe you can download 11.1.0.7 directly for certain platforms - like Windows Server 2008 64 bit. If you don't have access to Oracle Support this might be an option for testing - you can get a 60 day evaluation copy of Windows Server 2008 [from Microsoft|http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=13c7300e-935c-415a-a79c-538e933d5424].

  • RoboHelp x5 and Office 2007

    Does anyone know if you are able to operate RoboHELP x5 and Office 2007 without it shutting down with errors.  Currently we have a help system set up and we were updated to Office 2007 late March.  We are now having quite a few difficulties making changes to documents that needed updates.  Usually the documents were loaded as MS Word docs and then during compiling transformed to .html files.  Now with the Office 2007, RoboHELP doesn't want to import any documents because of the fact that X5 doesn't support Office 2007.  Is it possible to import the files as .html files instead to sidestep this issue?   Any help here would be greatly appreciated as I am a new user of RoboHELP with limited people who know how this program works.
    Thanks!

    Not a chance. Sorry but you will have to upgrade.

  • MBSA and Office 2007 SP3

    I have seen similar problems descriped on this forum. (http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/security/en-US/f842e040-c04a-4819-bb63-8e0dff7759ab/mbsa-and-windows-update-discrepancy)
    I have several Windows XP machines which is to connected to my full updated WSUS server.
    Office 2007 SP3 is installed on the clients and all needed patches is confirmed installed/updated by the WSUS server including the Office 2007 SP3.
    When I run MSBA 2.2 against one of the clients, MBSA state that Office 2007 SP3 is missing.
    From the file info of WinWord.exe and from the Help GUI in Word on the client, I can confirm that SP3 is installed: 12.0.6668.5000
    If I download the SP3 to Office 2007 and SP3 to Office 2007 Language pack that MBSA offers and tries to install them, it says
    that the ServicePack is already installed on the system.
    Any suggestions for why MBSA detects that ServicePack is needed even if it is already installed on the client  ?
    (Compatibility pack for Office 2007 is not installed on the client)
    Best Regards
    Peter

    Hi Peter,
    Seems I fell into the issue.
    Actually, if I run a Microsoft Update, it tells me that there's a "MS Office 2007 Service Pack 3 (SP3)" rolloout that I should install. I asked to download it, saw it was 21MB big (rather small), installed it, and the problem was solved.
    Now, I would like to know what was actually installed, in order to add it to a Task Sequence I'm building a new image with. The problem is that I can't find any evidence (KB reference or whatever) of what has been run. The History logs only refers to "MS
    Office 2007 SP3"...
    Any ideas ?
    Thanks!

  • Office 2007 compatibility with essbase 7.1.0

    Hi All,
    Recently our user group has been upgraded to Office 2007 from office 2003 and Present essbase version is 7.1.0.
    I think officialy there will be no compatility of excel 2007 with essbase 7.x versions.
    I have seen some posts that classic essbase client 9.3.1 supports with essbase 7.x versions, though oracle will not provide any support if there are any issues.
    can anybody have any ideas, that i can suggest to client.
    Regards,
    Stally.

    Hi,
    If you are using Excel 2007 please follow below instructions to set up the (Essbase client)Excel addin 7.x.
    After installing Essbase addin
    Go into Excel 2007 "Excel Options. and select Add-ins. Go to Excel Addin. Browse.
    You'll need to manually load 2 files.
    1: Browse and go to C:/Program Files/Office12/1033/Exptoows.xla OK (It will install into the add-in list.) This may install through the install wizard
    2: Browse and go to C:/Hyperion/Essbase/Bin/Essexcln.xll OK (It will install into the add-in list.)
    Now you can see Essbase tab when you open Excel...

  • OneDrive for Business sync client with Office 2007

    We have 700 people organisation using Sharepoint 2013. One of the key features for us is the OneDrive for business that allows us to sync document libraries. BUT there seems to be a big problem with Office 2007 clients, after installing the separate client
    opening and creating documents get's broken. Same thing is described here:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/odsupport/archive/2014/02/06/you-cannot-open-or-create-office-documents-in-sharepoint-2013-with-office-2010-and-office-2013-products-installed.aspx
    Office customization tool cannot be used with standalone client and there is no way to disable Microsoft Sharepoint Foundation support. Technet states that Office 2007 is supported but it surely doesn't feel like it. SP2 fixes this for Office 2010, but that
    doesn't help with Office 2007. Is there any solution for this?
    Regards,
    Sampsa

    Hi,
    It’s a known issue with Office 2007 or 2010 (without the latest Service Pack) along with SharePoint 2013.
    To resolve the issue, you can install Service Pack 2 for Office
    2010 and Service Pack 3 for Office 2007.
    Or disable the IE Add On - "SharePoint OpenDocuments Class" .
    Thanks,

  • Office 2007 XLSX Support

    hi,
    I am looking for a solution that can help me in some standard way to support xlsx support to my ECC6 EHP 4 System.
    I want if alv is exported ( any alv report program) in excel it should generate xlsx file Office 2007 standard xlsx file to save.
    I am also looking of any class / object / functions that I can use to generate xlsx file from my custom program and send as email or do a GUI_Download.
    I know I cannot ask too many questions on single thread, but my requirement is to have a standard solution that supports 2007 office excel file format in download/ upload by default.
    I found an OSS not also that refer to same requirement but I want you advice that does it solve my purpose fully.

    Thanks

    Hi,
    ALV export to XLSX format can be achieved using CL_SALV_TABLE and CL_BCS, This works with   ECC6  EHP5, not sure about EHP 4.
    See the following code snippet to send email as XLSX attachement.
    types:
         begin of lty_alv,
         end of lty_alv.
    data: lt_alv type standard table of  lty_alv.
    data: lo_salv_table type ref to cl_salv_table.
    select ... into table lt_alv .....................
    cl_salv_table=>factory(
               IMPORTING r_salv_table = lo_salv_table
               CHANGING t_table = lt_alv ).
    * Generate XLSX format & send email
         DATA: lo_bcs TYPE REF TO cl_bcs,
               lo_document TYPE REF TO cl_document_bcs,
               lo_distrlist_bcs TYPE REF TO cl_distributionlist_bcs.
         DATA: lv_xml TYPE xstring,
               lt_stream TYPE solix_tab.
         DATA lv_msg TYPE string.
         "Get XML output in Excel xml format
          lv_xml = lo_salv_table->to_xml(
                        xml_type    = if_salv_bs_xml=>c_type_excel_xml
                        xml_flavour = if_salv_bs_c_tt=>c_tt_xml_flavour_full  ).
         lt_stream = cl_bcs_convert=>xstring_to_solix( iv_xstring = lv_xml ).
          lv_msg = 'Mail body text goes here'.
         lo_document = cl_document_bcs=>create_document(
                               i_type = 'RAW'
                               i_text = cl_bcs_convert=>string_to_soli( iv_string = lv_msg )
                               i_subject = 'Mail Subject goes here' ).
          lo_document->add_attachment( i_attachment_type = 'RAW'  "XLS also can be used
                             i_attachment_subject = 'file_name.xlsx'
                             i_att_content_hex = lt_stream ).
          lo_bcs = cl_bcs=>create_persistent( ).
          lo_bcs->set_document( lo_document ).
          lo_bcs->set_sender( i_sender = cl_cam_address_bcs=>create_internet_address( 'sender email id' ) ). "cl_sapuser_bcs=>create( sy-uname )
          lo_distrlist_bcs = cl_distributionlist_bcs=>getu_persistent( i_dliname = 'Distribution list name'           i_private = abap_false ). "Or use create internet address as above
          lo_bcs->add_recipient( i_recipient = lo_distrlist_bcs ).
          lo_bcs->set_send_immediately( abap_true ).
          lo_bcs->send_request->set_link_to_outbox( abap_true ).
          lo_bcs->send( ).
          commit work.
    Disadvantage of this method: if mail is opened within SAP Business workplace, it does not identify the file type as it support only 3 character identity as of now. External email clients can open the attachement properly. If you want to open the attachement within SAP, change attachement type to 'XLS' and remove the file extension from file name.
    Thanks,
