ESSBASE Custom Configuration - EPM 11.1.1
Hi Gurus,
The EPM 11.x Installation has been completed successfuly on Windows XP, and the EPM system configuration has been started and most of the items like IR, Workspace, SQR, EAS showing as completed and the one item still showing as configuration, which is ESSBASE Custom Configuration, it's been 4 hours and still showing as configuring...any help would be great.
Many thanks in advance,
Hi,
As Pratap Suggested correctly that XP is not supported OS.
Just want to add if you can reconfigure again it may be worth to try.
Thanks

Essbase custom configuration failing in 11.1.1.3 on UNIX aix 5.3
Hi all,
My essbase is 11.1.1.3 and I am upgrading by uninstalling my existing 9.3.1.3 essbase server. My OS is IBM AIX 5.3 64 bit. My custom configuration is taking about 50 mins and failing. This is the following error message.
(Aug 06, 2010, 05:34:20 PM), com.hyperion.essbase.config.EssbaseAgentTaskProcessor, ERROR, Maxl process has interrupted, exitCode = -1
(Aug 06, 2010, 05:34:20 PM), com.hyperion.essbase.config.EssbaseAgentTaskProcessor, ERROR, Failed to execute EssbaseAgentTaskProcessor:

can any one guide me on this? Thanksyum install should resolve the dependencies.
Do you remember what all you installed using yum? (I can't remember all of them )
When you launch the installer and then click on the one which shows cannot be installed it'll show you what all are needed for that component.
Make a note of them and perform a yum install for each of them. What I did was i installed them and repeatedly launched installtool.sh till all dependencies were marked as passed.

Issues with Essbase Server configuration
Hi All,
- I have a simple environment with one foundation server with only foundation services running on it (only foundation components installed). On the single Essbase server, I have installed foundation (by default) and Essbase components.
- I'm facing an issue with the Essbase server configuration. All steps complete except for the last step: Deploying the web applications (APS and EAS) to the WebLogic server.
- FYI, I am deploying the web application to the existing domain created on the Foundation server. As all products need to be on the same domain..
During deploying, the WebLogic admin server reports the following error:
BEA-149003
Unable to access application source information in /opt/shared/apps/hyperion/Oracle/Middleware/EPMSystem11R1/products/Essbase/eas/server/AppServer/InstallableApps/Common/aps.ear for application ‘APS’.
The specified error is: No application files exist.
Now the above path and files exist on the Essbase server but not on the Foundation server. So after playing around with the WL admin console and reading Sandeep's post[1], I have come to the conclusion that:
1. The Essabase components have to be installed on the Essbase server, but not configured.
Now this implies that I need to install all components on the foundation server even though I will only be using it to deploy the foundation services which seems a bit silly?
2. Create a new domain on the Essbase server, so the EAS/APS will be deployed on the Essbase server - but won't be on the same domain as the other products.
Well I'm a newbie with WebLogic and would thus appreciate your valuable inputs!
Thanks in advance...
References:
[1]. http://sandeepseshan.blogspot.in/2009/02/weblogic-server-10-deployment-error.htmlFrom the configuration docs -
"On the machine on which you plan to administer the WebLogic Server, you must install all Web applications for all applications you plan to deploy on any machine in the environment. (The WebLogic Administration Server is installed and deployed on the Foundation Services machine.)"
You shouldn't need to create a new domain for deploying on other servers and can use the existing one and only deploy the web applications on the servers you want them running on.
I am not sure which version you are installing but if it is 11.1.2.1 then I take it the OS is the same type on both machines
"All Web applications in an EPM System deployment must be deployed on either windows machines or on all UNIX machines."
There note has doesnt seem to be there in 11.1.2.2 so I assume it is not the rule anymore.
Cheers

d. Choose Select All to select all configurations.
e. Choose Unselect All to de-select all configurations.
2. Click Next at the bottom of the list. The selected configurations are displayed.
3. Click Back-up.
4. Enter the path and name for the backed up configuration.
5. Click OK.
You may backup various combinations of configurations.
So, when I did press on Next button I got this message on portal:

Log Message:
Bug: Watson #2652870 - use a property file to drive the custom configuration tokens as opposed to setting it in the command line
QA: Yes
Doc: Yes - in custom tokens section, talk about the new token.file option
Checkintests: Pass
Details: Changed TokenReplacer to look for a token.file JVM option. If it's specified (eg. -Dtoken.file=/User/matamel/Desktop/token.properties), then TokenReplacer looks for a properties file where token name and values are specified. This allows someone to specify a file for custom tokens. Custom tokens can still be specified as straight JVM option and in case where a token is defined both as a JVM option and in a token properties file, JVM option takes precedence.
Modified Paths:
blazeds/trunk/modules/common/src/flex/messaging/config/TokenReplacer.javaRemember that Arch Arm is a different distribution, but we try to bend the rules and provide limited support for them. This may or may not be unique to Arch Arm, so you might try asking on their forums as well.

Custom Configuration - CRM Email Center
Details what it’s occurring:
1. In Email Center Custom Configuration, I created a new server group: EMC Desenvolvimento
2. I created the Database Server: OEDES
3. The DBA confirmed that the Global Name of the Data base is “OESDES”.
4. I made the Custom Configuration of the Database Server, I typed name “OEDES” in the
Database Global Name field and clicked update.
5. After that, when creating the link to Email Server Database for OO user, the following message appears:
“An error occurred while creating the database link due to invalid Database Global
Name. Please go to the Database Server page and enter a valid Database Global
Name.”
6. I found in Help link the “Creating the Database Server” text- item 9:
In the Database Global Name field, type the global name of the OES database. This value can be obtained from the GLOBAL_NAME table. It is
typically a combination of the database SID and the domain name. This field is
not case sensitive.
7. Being thus, I typed in the Global Name field a combination of the database SID and the domain name: “OESDES.<domain name>”.
Other message appeared:
ORA-00933: SQL command not properly ended ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_SYS_SQL", line 906 ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_SQL", line 39 ORA-06512:
at "APPS.IEM_DBLINK_PVT", line 302 ORA-00933: SQL command not properly ended
ORA-06512: at line 1
The db link has been created into the CRM database when I've done the Email
Center configuration.
CRM database:
SQL>select db_link,username from dba_db_links;
OESDES.<domain name>@APPSTO_OO OO
OEDES.<domain name>@APPSTO_OO OO
OESDES.<domain name>@APPSTO_ORA ORAOFFICE
Email database:
SQL>select * from GLOBAL_NAME;
GLOBAL_NAME
OESDES.<domain name>
What happened?
lhorta.Hello All,
Appreciate if you could provide any pointers. I think this either mite be related to the code link property of the iview or the PCD path of pages/roles which we do in CRM SPRO.

Access Custom Configuration Item Class property in Data Warehouse database
Is there a way to access properties on a custom 'Configuration Item Class' in the DW database?
When creating a new CI class eg. 'Monitors' and extending this with a property like 'Serial' is there a way to access this in the DW database?
I can find Displayname and AssetStatus in the ConfigItemDim table, but is there a way to get the other custom created properties?Ok !
Are you read this post ? :

Updating an attribute value in a custom Configuration Object
I created a custom configuration object, and have two attributes which should hold date values. One attribute will contain a null value and one attribute will contain a date value by default. Now, when i enter date values on an end user form and press continue, the user entered values have to be updated in these fields in the configuartion object. The attrib1 null value has to be updated with the corresponding value entered on the userform and the attibute2 ( which already has a default value) has to be overwritten with the date value selected(date selected with the date picker) on the enter user form.
I used checkout object, a script to get the value from the form and a checkin object to perform the above operation, but the value is not being updated in the configuration object. Any suggestions for the above problem would help me a lot!!Have you tried accessing the object from a rule using 'getObject' (you might need to use 'getExtension' also).
Try gettting the object directly from a rule, and use a 'set' to set the object key. I am not sure, but you might need to 'dumpMap' to actually convert the object to a Map structure before you can modify it.

Custom Configuration File path
Hello,
I'm developing a webapp that has a custom configuration file I use for many purposes.
I have a class to parse this file and then I can have all the values in memory available for the whole application.
This class is a singleton.
My question is:
Where's the best place (I need portability between web servers, but I'm currently working with Tomcat 3.2.1)
to put the path and name of the configuration file? How do I pass that value to the singleton?
I thought about an environment variable, but I don't know how to set it and later read it.
Thanks a lot!Environment variables are no good in Java. Abandon that path immediatly. If you want to do something like that, you can use "-Dxxx=yyy" as a command line parameter when starting Java.
However since you are not in control on starting Java that is not an option. You might want to look into something like this.
URL lFile =
this.getClass().getResource("x.properties");
if (lFile == null)
iProperties.setProperty("a", "no");
else
FileInputStream lIn = new FileInputStream( new File(
this.getClass().getResource("x.properties").getFile() )
iProperties.load(lIn);
lIn.close();
Or the more optimized:
InputStream lIn = getClass().getResourceAsStream(properties);
However, I have not tried this myself inside a WAR file...
The other option would be to provide the configfile via an URL and "download" it.
Good luck, tell me if this works for you -
Custom configuration of packages
Is it possible for a custom configuration of packages?
For example, dwm has no configuration file for customization but instead make all customization via a C header file that gets built into the binary. Obviously in this example it would require the ability to build from source. Is that something pacman can handle? I know that NetBSD's pkgsrc allows either installing binary packages or compiling from source and the latter allows for customization (for example, using inet6 for nmap).pacman installs packages that are build by makepkg from PKGBUILDs. If you can make a PKGBUILD that suits your tastes - whether via configure options, some sed magic or otherwise - you'll get a package that suits your needs.
There are many packages in the AUR that are a variation of some package from the official repo, e.g. mplayer: You've got
- mplayer-minimal-svn,
- mplayer-mt-lite,
- mplayer-mt-oss-git,
- mplayer-vdpau-svn
and many others. -
Essbase Custom Relational Calculation
Essbase Custom Relational Calculational this is
– new way for developing calculation
– new way for Essbase Integration
https://code.google.com/p/essbase-plsql-interface/
Essbase CRC Describe for consultants
Essbase CRC Describe for developersBase members of sparse (or dim) dimensions?
Just FIX(@LEVMBRS(dimname, 0)...) as required and then do your calcs within the FIX. You can even call formulas that only reside in the outline by simply specifying membername ;
Two questions/thoughts for you:
1) Will aggregating the results of the above approach work, i.e., do you have any ratios in your formulas that don't work when aggregated up?
2) Why won't dynamic calcs work for you?
And oh yes, the above all assumes you are talking about a BSO database.

Buying a custom-configured macbook: bad idea?
I had my heart set on buying a 2.0 ghz blackbook customized to 2 GB ram and 100 gb SATA hard drive from the apple online store. But while browsing through some threads, I've noticed that some users have indicated that custom orders should not be purchased. What are the reasons for this? And why would apple refuse to provide refunds for custom purchases? Shouldn't a product with a heavy price premium have the right to amenities. And I would also like to know how long it would take for my custom order to arrive. Would it be delayed?
I would upgrade myself though I'm afraid that it will void my warranty or whatnot. I plan on purchasing applecare so doing something that puts me at risk of wasting the additional service is not on my agenda. I am entering college this fall and I need a computer that will last me 4 years. The 512 mb on the stock build is much too low for my needs but I'm concerned over the warnings that have been made by other users. Having had no previous mac experience, I would appreciate it if further information is shared. If it doesn't work out, I may have to look further into the pc market. Thanks in advance.Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
Bear in mind, the Apple Discussions is specifically for people who are having problems. You're not going to see hardly anyone here posting that they don't have any problems. That's the point of the Discussions. There certainly have been thousands of folks already who are NOT having problems.
You're free to read Apple's Sales Policies here:
http://store.apple.com/Catalog/US/Images/salespolicies.html
Note, it says:
Please note that Apple does not permit the return of or offer refunds for the following products:
1. Product that is custom configured to your specifications...
So, you cannot return a custom built MacBook (or any Mac) for a full refund. However, if there is something wrong with your MacBook (or any Mac), Apple will fix it.
Custom configurations are made at the factory as your MacBook goes down the assembly line. It truly is configured just for you. These custom-configured models go through some extra testing on their way out of the factory, so it will add a slight delay to your order. Since we have absolutely no idea where on Earth you are, we can't shop the online Apple store of your country and see what the estimated ship date is for you. You can do that yourself pretty easily. If you shop the US store, it says a black MacBook with 2GB RAM and a 100GB drive will ship in 1-3 business days.
Because Apple considers the part user-installable, you can install RAM or a new hard drive in a MacBook yourself without voiding the warranty:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=25097
However, if you do break or damage something while doing the installation, the repair will not be covered by the warranty.

Hello,
We have a custom UWL configuration in EP 6.0 SP15 and when we goto use the "Personalize View" link for our custom configuration and we duplicate and save the sub-view then all subviews are lost when we return to the UWL screen. The only way we can get the custom subview back is to reset user personalizations. Does anyone know why this might happen?
Help is much appreciated.
Regards,
Dustin Gronsohi,
i think u have to choose 'Restore Defaults'
to get the original display
(without your personalization) back.
For details u can refer the following link.

DCOM Component Not Found after Essbase Adapter Configured for FDM 11.1.2.2
We are migrating FDM from version 11.1.1.3 to 11.1.2.2 following the official guide.
After schema update, we can log in to the FDM Workbench fine, but we are having trouble when upgrading Essbase adapter.
The existing adapter is outdated (for Essbase 11.1.1.3), and we followed the document to import, register, configure new Essbase adapter.
However, after machine profile, adapter options (which application to connect and so on) are set, we tried to configure dimension mappings.
In the "Target Dimension" field in the "Dimension" tab of adapter configuration window, it only shows "Connection failed." in the drop down list.
Then we discovered that we need 32-bit Essbase Runtime client after reading an Oracle KM Article, then we copied it from Essbase server and set the environment variables.
After doing so, and register the adapter again, now the dimension is shown in the pop-up window when configuring dimension of the Essbase adapter.
The progress of our FDM adapter registration:
1. Import the adapter ES11X-G4-J.xml in FDM workbench.
2. Put the upsES11XG4J.exe file under <EPM_Oracle_Home>\common\EssbaseRTC\bin
3. Create a system environment variable ESSBASEPATH with value "<EPM_Oracle_Home>\common\EssbaseRTC\11.1.2.0" and add following value to PATH environment variable: "<EPM_Oracle_Home>\bin-32; %ESSBASEPATH%\bin; <EPM_Oracle_Home>\products\Essbase\EssbaseClient-32\bin", where the <EPM_Oracle_Home> resemble our EPM location.
4. Register the adapter from "File -> Register Adapter" in workbench and select the upsES11XG4J.exe file.
5. Executed "Run -> dcomcnfg" trying to update the launching user right for corresponding DCOM component (upsES11XG4J.cluHypWindowEB) but could not find it there.
Does anyone encountered this situation before?Thanks Jeff.
Sorry I didn't notice your reply here, since Oracle Support has answered that for Windows Server 2008 R2, this step is no longer needed when configuring FDM Essbase Adapter. That's sweet.
Warm Regards,
John
