Essbase EAS export data error

Hello,
I am trying to Export data from Essbase Administration Services console (right click on the DataBase/Export), and i have this error: Export data <date> Failed
Error: 1042013 Network error [10038]: Cannot Receive Data.
I don't think it is really a network connection error... do you know another possible cause?

In reality, that message almost always means that the Essbase app has crashed. Take a look at the application log.
Evidently the Arbor development team decided that the obvious explanation for an application's failure to respond was network interruption, with the possibility of a crash too remote even to mention. If you didn't laugh, you'd cry...

I'm attempting to export data from a Dbase to a folder on my C: Drive, have tried both MAXL and EAS but am receiving following message "Error: 1005000 ASCII Backup: Failed to open [C:\PlanningUploads\ExportFile\ExportRes.txt]." Never done this before, so would appreciate advice. Many Tanks David 

You should export to a folder on the Essbase server. You can then copy to a folder on your C drive if you wish.

Error in posting billing document ( Export Data Missing)

Hi Gurus,
I am facing a unique problem. When I am posting a domestic invoice with reference to service order material Group is LEIS( service withought delivery ) is LEIS, the system is displaying a message Document & has been saved (foreign trade data incomplete)
. When I run the similar transaction in a replication of above system there is no error displayed.
Also the customer is not permitting me to maintain the foreign trade data, as he says when we are not executing
Export transaction, why should we maintain this data???
We have replicated the masters in the parallel system & taken the same parameters to excute the transaction,
Please advice as to where this difference in behaviour is???
Also how do I overcome the export data error for domestic transactions.

Hi
This is because of the Foreign Trade: Export Data view selected for the material.
Check your material master whether the Foreign Trade: Export Data has been selected. If it is selected you will encounter the issue during the invoice creation.

Login fails due to invalid login credentials
recently we chaned the default password of essbase but we didnt do any changes in the FDM application , everything else worked fine but we didnt performed this activity to see the effect of the changes . Can you suggest how to fix this problem

hi , we fixed this problem but just in case for others , all we need to do is then go to machine profiles in the targer adapterd in FDM and edit the user name and password and update it with the new password , and it worked.this is the application dependent settings so you will have to do it on all the applications that use essbase as target system.

Essbase data error importing data back to cube.

We have some text measures in cube.We loaded data using smart view.Once the data is loaded.we did export data from cube and when i import data back to the same cube i am getting the following error message below.
Parallel data load enabled: [1] block prepare threads, [1] block write threads.
Member [Sample text Measure] is a text measure. Only text values can be loaded to the Smart List in a text measure. [1004] Records Completed
Unexpected Essbase error 1003073.
I have done some analysis on this error message but could not find any solution.
please suggest me where it is going wrong.

I don't know if I'm directing you correctly as I only loaded data, but never imported the exported text data. However, from the 11.1.1.3 dbag, below is found on P#193:
*"100-10" "New York" "Cust Index" #Txt:"Highly Satisfied"*
This shows that- Perhaps, we may've to prefix *#Txt:* before the double-quoted Text value.

Exporting data in Applicationmanager fails with Error 10054

Hi all,when I try to export data via Applicationmanager the Application terminates immediately with an error message "can't read data - Error 10054 - network error" "can't write data - Error 10054 - network error" and sometimes with the errormessage "unable to allocate memory - Error 10054".We have an IBM server 340 with 1 GByte Ram, Harddisk Space for Hyperion about 3 GByte in RAID 1.Essbase 6.1.Does anybody know that problem???Help to solve that issue would be great. A couple of tips:1. Try stoping and restarting the application then try to export2. If that doesn't work try stopping and restarting the applicationa and the server and reconnecting then doing th eecport.3. Check to see that you have a good connection to the server. When you run an export you must maintain a connection to the server, if you lose it the ecport stops.4. If all else fails open Application Manager on the server itself and run the export from there.Hope this helps,CB

DCOM error "1260" on Windows 2008 R2 terminal server when SAP exports data into Office 2007 (Excel or Word)

Hi all,
We are experiencing an issue which happens at random whenever a user tries to export data from SAP into Excel or Word. Excel or Word is started but remain empty. We then see the below errors in the event log. And the problem is very random
as sometimes all they have to do is wait 10 minutes and the next try will be successful. Not even log off/on. Could someone tell me what the error "1260" is saying?     thanks for your help.

Based on my research, please try the following:
Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK.
Locate the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Notify\termsrv
Under this subkey, add the following registry entries:

When we try to export data from 9i db getting below error.

Hi,
You must export with the 9i version of exp, and import in the 11g database (if that's what you want) with 11g imp.

Error while exporting data from sql server to excel

Hi,
I am trying to export data from sql server to excel.
The query that I used is s follows
INSERT INTO OPENROWSET( 'Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0', 'Excel 8.0;Database=C:\Folder1\abc.xls','select * from [Sheet1$A1:IV65000]')
select
column1,column2.... from Table1
I get the following error message while doing so..
String or binary data would be truncated.
The statement has been terminated.
One of the column's holds data more than 225 characters.
What is the way to correct this, i want the whole data of the colum in the excel sheet.

I haven't had great luck with the INSERT INTO OPENROWSET method. Can you try one of the many samples from one of these 3 links?

Getting error "Cannot create a BACPAC from a file that does not contain exported data." from SqlManagementClient.Dac.ImportAsync

We're trying to import a dacpac to azure via the new SqlManagementClient DacOperations ImportAsync api I get an exception with the error: "Cannot create a BACPAC from a file that does not contain exported data."
This same dacpac imports fine using an alternate but less friendly API from sql server's tooling. We'd like to use the new management SDK instead for various reasons.

Exporting Data from Essbase to Excel

Hi All,
We are using classic planning application developed in Hyperion 11.1.2.2.
Is there any way that we can export data from Essbase to Excel (Please note that i don't want to do it on server machine where essbase is installed, instead i want it on any client PC which is accessing Essbase)

there are many ways you can do that, Through Excel Add-in,SmartView functions etc different.
It depends on the requirement , if you mean to say who Essbase Data then someone else should be able to answer this.

Error: Export data missing

while Invoice-Release to accounting I got error as "Export data missing"
when I check I found that Foreign trade data is incomplete as per system. Also I have seen foreign trade no also in invoice foreign trade/customes view.
I dont know why this error is coming. system is asking to complete foreign trade for which no customizations available.
So I want to know what triggers to generate foreign trade no means why it has become essentials to provide these data?
which master data are important to trigger foreign trade? I have not maintained anything in foreign tarde view in material master.
Also let me know how can I resolve this problem?

listed in the note. If you choose for business reasons not to use the
incompletion procedure, then it can be de-activated. For this, kindly
refer to note 118573.
Please complete the following steps:
- create a new customer project via CMOD.
- assign the enhancement V50EPROP (which contains the userexits) to
the customer project.
- place source code inside the include found in exit_saplv50e_005
& _006, for example,
INCLUDE ZXV50U06
       if ( i_exp_imp_flag eq 'E' ).
         clear: c_complete.
         c_complete = 'X'.
       endif.
- generate the two new objects (exit_saplv50e_005 & _006) via
SE37.
- activate the project via CMOD.

If foreign trade functionalities are to be used, the corresponding
customizations must be maintained using transaction VI29 and VI49.

EA2 export data disappears after error

The export data menu item in the result set context menu disappears after you created an error. E.g. after sending the following statement:
select dummy|| dummy|| dummy|| dummy|| dummy|| dummy from dual;
The call of "export data" raises an error message that the identifier for the column is too long. After that, the menu item "export data" is gone.

Yes, the problem with the export menu option disappearing is fixed with EA3.
As to when the error with the long column names not being able to be exported was previously fixed, I saw the problem (ORA-00972 with the example query given) from versions 1422 through 2579, but not in the subsequent version (2998?) where it was fixed to not cause the error.
On not wanting to rewrite my original base query - SQL Developer is already rewriting it, which is what is causing this problem. I assume the rewrite you are doing simplifies the case where only some of the columns are exported.
My query is, for example:
select dummy|| dummy|| dummy|| dummy|| dummy|| dummy from dual
This runs fine and produces the expected result. SQL Developer's query for exporting is (from what you have said), in that example:
select "DUMMY||DUMMY||DUMMY||DUMMY||DUMMY||DUMMY" from
(select dummy|| dummy|| dummy|| dummy|| dummy|| dummy from dual)
This fails with the "ORA-00972" error, preventing me from using the export functionality for a query that I can run successfully.
I know that the work around is to provide an alias for the column, but the fact that I can apply a work around to my query doesn't change my opinion that it is SQL Developer code that is doing the wrong thing with my query (a bug to me) that is preventing me from being able to us the export functionality for that query.
It is a relatively minor thing, but another example of something that you would expect to work (it certainly does in TOAD) which takes some of the shine off a basically good product.

ERROR WHEN GENERATING EXPORT DATA SOURCE

I am getting an error when generating export data source for Info Cube. I'm creating an Info Cube based on already existed info cube. Literally I am copying all the settings of an info cube to new Info Cube. The scenario is to load the data from one Info Cube to the other. The creation of Info Cube from an Info Cube is successful. But the problem is when I am generating export data source the following error is occurred.
Error: Data Source 81c_svrr does not exist in source system B3TCLNT800 of version A.
what could be the reason for the error?

The problem is because of error in the Myself Connection , Check the Myself connection in the source systems and the activate and restore the connection and try, it should work..
