Essbase Hyperion 9 + BO XI 3.1 SP3. Essbase API Error (1030723) (WIS 10901)

Hello, Need your help please !!!
I have installed BO Enterprise XI 3.1 SP3 on window 2003 which IBM DataStage have been installed on it.
There are no problem when :
- Creating connection using essbase hypersion 9 and creating universe in Universe Designer (Ok)
- Checking validity of the universe (Ok)
- Create and run report in webbi rich clien (Ok)
The problem is when I tried to create report and run query in Web Intelligence Java Panel Report, I got this Error "A database error occured. The database error text is: Essbase API Error (1030723): . (WIS 10901)".
Can someone help me to solve this problem, please?

Hi Stratos,
I have installed Essbase Client Version 11. I have installed the same in my laptop and I didn't got this problem, the different only i haven't installed DataStage in my laptop.

Reports export in Hyperion Analyzer ver. 7.2.5 gives error ?

Environment:
OS : Windows server 2003 sp2
IBM websphere application server 5.1.1.10
Oracle database version: 10.1.0.2
JRE : 1.4.2_12
I installed the hyperion analyzer v 7.2.5 build 36 with last supported version of oracle 10g i.e 10.1.0.2.I'am able to successfully create reports and save them.Only issue is export of reports.sometimes i'am able to successfully export:simple and advanced reports from one essbase datasource.but from a completly different essbase datasource i'am not able to export even a single ,basic report. i'am enclosing the java console output below:

BO XI 3.1 + Essbase hyperion 9.3

I'm having a little problem when I create a report based on Web Intelligence in the universe with the integration of Hyperion cubes, because when I view my document only dimensions in the values are displayed normally, but when I try to run the query with objects of metrics, the result comes empty.
I'm using BO XI 3.1 SP2
If anyone has encountered this problem, I accept suggestions and assistance on how to solve this problem.

If Essbase works like any other OLAP processing engine, like BW...
Then, whenever you select no measures you are querying over the dimension tables, not the cube.
Even more then one dimension will result in a cartesian product between the two.
So only when you select a measure, it will have a look at the actual contents of the cube.
So I would have a look at the raw cube contents and try to see if there is some condition preventing you from seeing this data.

Making Changes in Essbase & Hyperion Planning

when we make changes in Hyperion Planning Application they show changes in Essbase Application also but When we make changes in Essbase Application It does not show changes in Hyperion Planning Application. Why?

Any changes you want to make to the Essbase database for Hyperion Planning must be done through the Planning app. Otherwise direct changes made on the Essbase side will be erase upon the refresh.^^^Not strictly true -- the Essbase UDA_HSP allows Essbase-only properties without reference to Planning. This is the way Planning worked till System 9. You can still use this UDA in Planning -- I used it in Planning just last week for a Scenario member calculation that referenced members in only one Plan Type out of three. It is a pain in the rear and impossible to resolve in Planning member formulas themselves.

Essbase & Hyperion Enterprise API

Is there anyone out there that has done extensive calls to Essbase or to Hyperion Enterprise 5.5 using API?Has anyone developed an application that does outline maintenance outside of Application manager? We have a very manual process since we do not pull everything out of enterprise and make that part of our outline dynamically through like a load rule. We bring all the accounts into a dimension and then drag them to where they need to go.Any Help would be appreciated.Paul [email protected]

You can write customized Maxl script stopEsb.msh as

And call the script in a shell script as

Hyperion Provider Services Connectivity to the Essbase Server

Hi All,
I have seen a new issue in Epm 11.1.2 Issue is
I have installed my provider services services are now up and running in port 13080
Now when Iam trying to connect thru smartview Iam using following URL
http://Servername:13080/aps/SmartView
When Iam going thru the new connection creation process
Step 1 when I give the URL and click on the next its shows up next page.
In this page basically I have to select the server and the application.
But here in my case server and application doesnt show up its BLANK.
I have checked from my browser provider services shows up perfectly
Have anyone faced this issue let me know your ideas

I would like to create a Report in Financial Reporting studio by connecting to a Essbase application. Once i open the Report, if i click on Metadata, can it take in to Relational Database tables (Drill through capability) ? Is this option available in FR Studio ? Pls. help

Essbase Studio v11.1.x compatibility with Essbase v9.3.1

Does any one know if we could use Essbase Studio in version 11.1.x with Essbase 9.3.2 ?

From what I checked in the available support matrices, at least 11.1.1, 11.1.1.1, and 11.1.2 do not support 9.3.X. The matrix for 11.1.1.3 does not have information related to release compatibility.
The only version that supports a different release is 11.1.1.1, which says to support 11.1.1.X.

Essbase LCM export on non-foundation machine fails with error message EPMLC

Running an lcm utility command line export on a non- foundation machine fails with an error message:
EPMLCM-30043: Unable to load the plugin class com.hyperion.essbase.lcm.ESBLCMPlugin
bare in mind that:
- other exports like planning and foundation metadata exports run succesfull on this non-foundation machine
- running an essbase export from the foundation user interface succeeds too.
What files can be missing or other issue can cause this?

release transfer should work by steps what have you followed only requirement is to have create the similar namespace in the target software component first and then do the release transfer.
one thing just try unchecking the target SWCV (original objects option at down it should work then)
1.To release objectse from one SCV to another you need to follow the following procedure.
Login to Integration Repository.
Click on Tools -> Release Transfer. You can select the source & target interface or select individual objects if you want..
If you need further clarifications do let us know.
2.you may not have authorization to use Release Transfer so i would suggest use copyobject option to copy from one SWCV1 to SWCV2. right click on source select cop option change the SWCV
Select the namespace under your SWCV. Go to Tools->Release Transfer.
It will transfer all the objects under this namespace to the specified SWCV.

Or else you can select individual objects under the namespace and right click on the object and select Copy Object. You will get a dialog box where you can select the new location where you want to copy this object.

Error 1030723 Unable to get UTF-8 locale when using Essbase API 11.1.1

Now I got a question about how to connect to an Essbase Server by using essbase client API (11.1.1). I encountered an error “Unable to get UTF-8 locale” when I tried to EssInit((pInitStruct, phInstance) API.
However, I had no problem to call the API if I uses essbase previous client APIs (7.1 or 9.3).
I passed the “ESS_API_UTF8” to usApiType field in the ESS_INIT_T struct. When I openned the “essapi.h” header file, I found these are some new fields (highlighted in red color below) added in the essbase client API (11.1.1)
