Is there ANYONE out there that is using Essbase ver 6.1.4 SUCCESSFULLY in a PRODUCTION environment?

I have 6.1.4 successfully implemented in production at 2 of my clients. I do not think wired will even work with the 6.x runtimes. Your only real option is to put off the move untill you can manage the a6.5 upgrade.

I am using Hyperion Essbase 11.1.1.3 Version. Previously I was using Hyperion Essbase 9.3.1. I have used "AddIns("Hyperion Essbase OLAP Server DLL (non-Unicode)").Installed = False" for Essbase 9.3.1. Can anyone please let me know the similar VB code for Essbase 11.1.1.3?

For example, We have 3 Planning applications and when we run business rules on these 3 applications, Essbase divide his tasks using always 13% of CPU (1/8)...^^^Essbase is single threaded. Unless you use parallel calculation in the BRs (not that I particularly recommend that within the context of a Planning app) that's Working As Designed.
If you're curious about parallel calculation, the DBAG has plenty on it and the Tech Ref has all of the supporting commands and settings fully documented.
When parallel calculations work, they work really well. Sometimes there is zero (even negative) performance improvements.

Analyzer 6.1 error connecting to Essbase 6.5 Olap Server

Has anyone experienced the following error after trying to select an Essbase data connection from the java web client:com/hyperion/ap/adm/HssConnHyperion product and version numbers: Essbase Olap Server 6.5 on a UNIX Server running AIX 4.3.3, Analyzer 6.1 running in Websphere 3.5.5 Advanced Edition on the same UNIX Server running AIX 4.3.3, Repository for Analyzer 6.1 stored within Oracle 8.1.1 on a seperate UNIX server running AIX 4.3.3 Client operating system: Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 6, Internet Explorer 6.0.2, Netscape 6.2.2, Java Plug-in 1.3.1_02

I don't know about UNIX, but on NT, it expects you to have at least Oracle 8.1.7. That could be the problem.

Whycan't connect the Essbase Administration console to the OLAP server?

I have a problem about Essbase Administration console.After I install all the product of the Essbase, (includeing the 6540ns?6540na?6540am?654032?6540rt?eas653_nt). i can't connect the Essbase Administration console to the Essabse OLAP server.The Administrator server,username and password is correct but there is "can't connect to the server"error. All the installtion process this time is the same as berfore i have done, and there was no question when connectting to the Essabse OLAP server before. Could not connect to the OLAP server web analysis hyperion

I created a document report in Web Analysis with an administrator user then I created a user in the shared services console and granted him access to the report, but entering with this user I can access the report, but receive the following error message: Could not connect to the OLAP server web analysis hyperion.

Is the user having correct provisioning in Essbase? Which version? (older versions, you'll have to synchronize Essbase with HSS)

Essbase OLAP error

Hi Gurus,
I have installed HSS, Essbase, et all.
When I log into HSS, and go to Application group -> Essbase Cluster1 and choose one of the essbase cubes, i get this message...
EPMLCM-34040:Cannot connect to olap service. cannot connect to essbase server. error: essbase error(1051012): user native://dn=cn=911,ou=people,dc=hyperion,dc=com?USER does not exist
When I log on to EAS -> Enterprise view ->Essbase Server and click Essbase cluster1, i have the same error:
Error: 1051012: User native://DN=cn=911,ou=People,dc=css,dc=hyperion,dc=com?USER does not exist
What could be the problem.
The account i am signing on to EAS and HSS is an admin account called ADMIN.

I will be reinstalling EPM. Distributed Environment.
HSS, Planning, ReportingAnalysis (fin reporting, web analysis ), Essbase Client on ServerA and
Essbase on ServerB.
Do I need to Install/configure Essbase Server on ServerA? I dont think we need to right. All I think I need is Essbase Provider Services (Deploy to Application Server) and Essbase Admin Services (deploy to application server/configure database).
And in ServerB, I need to install Essbase + Foundation services right?
I was looking at one of your blogs, and you have CONFIGURED only foundation service first, so may be i need to do the same, configure foundation service, then configure planning, then RA, and then Essbase on ServerA and then go to the ServerB and do Foundation and Essbase Server. What are your thoughts John.

Create essbase olap user via japi - 7.1

So this question has floated around a bit, but I'm not able to find an explicit answer for Essbase 7.1:Is it possible to create users in OLAP server 7.1 via the japi? It seems you can only create users in EDS but there is no way to propagate those to OLAP server. Is there any way of programmatically doing this, other than just running MAXL scripts?Thanks

we are using APD to extracted sales data for the last 3 months .this APD was executed perfectly till yesterday.
in today's run APD got failed with error message as below

Please suggest corrective action .
I have tried executing manually with less selections on creation date by no success..

Dear Purushotham, You can maintain the Fiscal year Variant in OB29. 2 possibilities, #1 : Data for the FYV/Year could be wrong. #2 : Updates for Fiscal Year might not have been done. You can maintaine FY varients up to FY 2XXX in your BW system. This should fix the error. The table T009 must be the same as we get when we do OB29 TCode in BW, so via SPRO do rebuild of table again.
