ESSO-Provisioning Gateway

Hi All,
I'm trying to test 'delegation' option in ESSO-LM Agent. I have configured PG and LM-Admin console as per the documentation, LM-Client is working fine and also i'm able to provision user logons for account in AD using Provisioning Gateway... but Delegation option is not working as expected, can anyone help me out with their valuable information.
Thanks & Regards,
AK

Hi Marius
It seems to be a known bug. As a workaround you can delete the adapter tasks printdata and printset from the PasslogixChangePassword adapter. After doing that, it works fine.

    Hi all,
I'm facing a problem while login into ESSO Provisioning Gateway, it throws error "Cannot connect to "AD" data repository. Your username or password may be incorrect.". My Provisioning Gateway version is 11.1.1.5.2 and it is freshly installed. It throws error while I try to set event log in PG setting menu. The symptom is really like document with ID 467150.1 in Oracle Support but my storage is Active Directory as had mentioned above not Oracle Internet Directory.  Have anyone ever faced problem like thisOIM? Any help will be very much appreciated. Thanks
    Regards

I use only support.mozilla.org and never used any other websites. However, the same problem here. My ID and Password are not accepted. Had to create a new account with a temporary email to use Support - it would not allow me to use my main email, because "it is used by another account". Try to reset password - receive no email (even though there is a confirmation on the website that email to reset password has been sent). At the same time can easily receive a confirmation about User ID and account activation. Thus, the account is completely locked, and I can not use my email address for a new one. Please fix this problem.

  • OIM-ESSO  Provisioning gateway

Can we setup ESSO Provisioning gateway on OIM 9101 or is it compulsory to have OIM 9102

Yes. You can very well integrate OIM 9.1.0.1 & ESSO-PG

  • ESSO PG Connector Issue in OIM 11G

I setup ESSO Provision Gateway Connector in OIM 11G.
But during "add credential task" I get error:
"*The add_credential execution failed. Error: Error in sending instruction from provisioning manager in Api Command (400) Bad Request. Add Credential Command failed to get invoked*".
In Event Log of the Windows Server 2008 with the Provision Gateway I saw:
"*Unexpected end tag. Line 6, position 1015*", "*server cannot clear headers after http headers have been sent*".
It means a syntax error in xml request of connector to web-service of Provision Gateway.
    Wireshark shows me sent xml-request:

I saved it to xml-file and opened in Internet Explorer and there was error.

    I found out next one:
the main difference was in last tag "*</#document>*".
I take this tag off from xml-file, taken from request of OIM 11G and saved the file.
    Edited xml-file was correct.
Is it error in connector or in OIM 11G?How to solve it?Can anyone help me?

    Hi!
I get the same error during Add Credential task with the ESSO PG connector in OIM 11g.....

com.passlogix.integration.provision.client.CommandInvocationException: Error in Sending instruction from the provisioning manager in API Command  (400)Bad Request
Where I can check the xml file?
    You could solve the problem?

Minesh1. Patches are cumulative updates to the package. Usually, this does not require a re-install of the ESSO components, just application of a Patch file to update the files. Is it safe? Yes, the patches are tested pretty thoroughly prior to being released.
    2. As with all patches, the changes have the potential to cause issues, but in my experience, patching has not caused any serious errors moving forward.
For PG 10.1.4.1, try the following patch to get up to the latest version: Patch 9526209
Please note when upgrading your 10.1.4.1 ESSO-LM client, that you must first replace it with FP01 before upgrading to newer FP's, such as FP04. Here is the note from Patch 9309031
"If starting with LM version 10.1.4.1 then first apply the LM version 10.1.4.1 FP01 (patch 8641770)."
As always, its a good idea to read the readme for specific instructions on installing patches.

  • OIM with ESSO integration problem

I am attempting to build a demo of OIM and ESSO, completely integrated and having trouble. I have OIM setup and working with AD, creating accounts and provisioning passwords. I am failing at integrating ESSO with it.
It seems when I copy the ESSO provisioning gateway files into the JBOSS \lib\endorsed directory, JBOSS throws a fit and I can no longer load the OIM web console.
I am running OIM 9.1.0.1 with JBoss 4.2.3.GA and JDK 1.6.0_16.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. It only seems to be the xercesImpl.jar file that breaks it. I have copied all of the other files in and have modified the run.bat in the Jboss bin directory. As soon as I copy the xercesImpl.jar in, nothing works.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance.

Nevermind.. its just the name of the AD resource already created.

In my opinion, API testing for ESSO is not possible. Which are the modules in ESSO that you are using? Following are the ideas I can think of:
ESSO Logon Manager: I know WinRunner is one of the ways to test complete functionality of ESSO-LM. I have never used Load-Runner on ESSO, but you might want to check if you can generate load using that.
ESSO Password Reset: This can only be tested manually, since ESSO-PR is invoked before logging onto Windows machine.
ESSO Authentication Manager: If you are using a combination of tokens and smart cards, then you have to test this manually. If you are using passwords, then you might be able to automate the actions using WinRunner/LoadRunner.
ESSO Provisioning Gateway: Since this process is invoked by OIM, you will be able to generate load on this ESSO module by using OIM Provisioning API to provision large number of users.
ESSO Kiosk Manager: I don't know too much about this module, but if this involves Windows login-logout, then you may not be able to automate this. Else, you can use WinRunner/LoadRunner.
My advise is that you ask the developers to give you a complete demo for the usage of ESSO and then you can judge accordingly on which tools can be used for testing the same.

  • Esso Agents 11.1.1.2.0 with Legacy Logon manager and PG

    Hi
I have many applications that fail on single sign-on.Although the eso services are started I have many pcs having to be re-installed because of esso not working. I have tried the troubleshooting methods on repair and un/re-installation of the esso software with no success
The components I have currently installed are:
    1. Esso Server
    Logon Manager Console 10.1.410 (unpatched)
    Provisioning Gateway server 10.1.410 (unpatched)
    Microsoft ADAM repository on windows
    2. Windows XP esso Client
    Logon Manager Agent 10.1.410 (unpatched)
    Provisioning Gateway Client 10.1.410 (unpatched)
My question is can I upgrade the clients to the latest version 11.1.1.2.0 now while having the Esso server version software remain the same. The upgrade of the Esso server will happen only during the latter half of the year.
Will the esso clients still continue to work connecting to the legacy software on the esso server.
We have a few sites that have been upgraded fully ( server and clients) to the 11.1.1.2.0 version and esso has been stable there ever since .
    Thanks

This is an SSL handshake problem of Websphere - has nothing to do with AM.
Webspheres JDK does not trust the Signer / Cert of AMs deployment container.
Either configure a truststore (or use an existing webshpere truststore) where you import the Cert of the Signing CA of your AM DCs cert.
Other option - import the mentioned cert in cacert file of IBM JDK - but be aware that this might get lost when applying an Websphere fixpack/refreshpack.
BTW what have you configured for server.port,server.host and server.protocol in your AMConfig.properties?
If you have not changed that settings agent will use the port/protocol specified to communicate with AM.

  • E-Business Suite 11i with ESSO and Identity Manager

    Hi,
We want to use Identity Manager to provision user information to Active Directory, MS Exchange, and E-Business Suite. Also, intend to deploy e-sso to provide single sign-on experience for desktop and web based applications.
Has anyone integrated Oracle E-Business Suite 11.5.10.2 with Enterprise Single Sign-On and Identity Manager (Identity Management)?
Can we achieve it without using Oracle Internet Directory/OracleAS 10g Single Sign-On?
Any relevant information or issues faced during integration, would be helpful.
    Regards.

    Hi,
for this integration you will need Provisioning Gateway component of the ESSO suite, and the included OIM-ESSO PG Connector.
The eBusiness Java interface can be integrated with eSSO, trough the java helper object.
There are several metalink notes that describe the OIM-PG integration:
NOTE: 550639.1 eSSO: Overview And Troubleshooting Of OIM Integration With Provisioning Gateway
NOTE: 550642.1 eSSO: OIM PG Integration: ProvisioningInstructionException: The user is not authorized for the action
NOTE: 550645.1 eSSO: OIM PG Integration: Error in Sending Request to web service
NOTE: 550646.1 eSSO: OIM PG Integration: Unsupported major.minor version 49.0
NOTE: 550641.1 eSSO: OIM PG Integration: Add_credential Execution Failed. Error: XPathFactory
NOTE: 550643.1 eSSO: OIM PG Integration: Could not find IT asset value for Svr_key
Yes, with eSSO-OIM you wont need Oracle Internet Directory/OracleAS 10g Single Sign-On.

  • ESSO-LM centralized app credentials definition

Hi gurus. I need to provide my users with automatic logging on an application, but it's needed that users don't know the password.
I planned use for that eSSO-LM, but I can't find a way to define app credentials (for different users) in eSSO Administrtive Console, and a way to restict users from credentials changing.
    Is this possible?
    Thanks in advance!

This is possible, with a couple of caveats.
What you are looking to do is provision a credential to a users ESSO-LM without them knowing what it is. If you create the template and set a couple of settings on it (Such as generate and silently submit new passwords and supress password revealing), the user will never know the password and it will automatically change when a password change dialog for the application (that is configured) occurs.
In order to provision the credentials to the user's ESSO-LM client, you will need the addon product ESSO-PG (Provisioning Gateway). Provisioning Gateway gives a web application and/or CLI tool that allows administrators (or any other users/groups selected) the ability to provision, de-provision, or modify credentials for users' ESSO-LM. The CLI portion of this is what plugs into Identity Management systems such as OIM.
As stated above, you could provision the account in the application, then push the credentials to the users' ESSO-LM using the ESSO-PG. If the template is setup correctly, the user will not be able to reveal the password and it will be changed automatically upon expiration within the application. The caveat is that you cannot have users share credentials to an application (if one user 'changes' the password, the other users' ESSO-LM clients will not be aware of the change).
Passlogix, the vendor that ESSO-LM is OEM'd from has another addon product which Oracle does not resell, which can help with the mentioned caveat.

Is OIM-OAM integration mandatory? It depends on the end user's requirements.
OAM is for Web Based SSO as you mentioned. If all you would need is SSO then you do not need OIM-OAM integration.
However, if you need user self service and password reset features you need OIM-OAM integration. By doing so you can enable OIM's user self service and password reset capabilities for your OAM users.

  • ESSO-PG Integration OIM

    Hi everybody!
I need to integrate the OIM connector with ESSO-Provisoning Gateway but I have some problems with the PMClientConfiguration.properties file. This file is in OIMConnector6.0.jar; I extracted this file in the path the same connector's path (C:\Oracle\Middleware\Oracle_IDM1\server\JavaTasks) but the logs show that some class not found in DB for example:
INFO: Class : com/passlogix/integration/provisioning/client/apicommand/ApiCommandAddCredCommand not found in DB
The user is provisioned in the AD Resource but the Passlogix Add Credential task is failed :(
Are there additional steps to work???
What is the best way to map the propertiesFile Field to the PMClientConfiguration.properties if this is in OIMConnector6.0.jar???
    I'm using ESSO-PG 11.1.1.2.0 and OIM 11g
    Thanks in advance!

Hi Kevin, thanks for your reply!
I already did all the settings mentioned in the guide connector:
**I make the tasks (add credential, delete credential,....)
**I set the values to VGO Constants
**I copy the all the jars
**I edit the javaCLI.serviceurl variable of the PMClientConfiguration.properties file with the web service ESSO-PG's url and I checked the ESSO-PG is up and also I tested add credential by command line and it was succesfully.
The problem is to set correctly the propertiesFile Field with the full path of the PMClientConfiguration.properties file. Because this file is in the OIMConnector6.0.jar. I extract this file (PMClientConfiguration.properties) in the path of OIMConnector6.0.jar but the problem is that some class not was found.
In the log shows that try to run the command to add credentials but it fails to find in DB some classes.
    Thanks in advance!

  • Esso logon manager client - Application List Blank

    Hi
I have a scenario where the esso logon manager anf provisioning gateway clients are installed on the D drive of a client pc.This is due to the fact that a new batch of HP laptops have their system partition as C drive and their windows partion as the D Drive. So applications are automatically forced to install to the D Drive instead of the C drive as per default.
Upon rebooting the machine after installing the packaged esso msi packaged apps the esso application list is blank ?? However if the packages are installed to the C drive on another machine esso works fine.
Are there any tweaks or hacks or any solution to get this to work.
Your help would be greatly appreciated

Check your Global Agent Settings. Specifically, I would check the one related to your synchronizer. This is a setting that exists in the registry of the client that points to the location of the dll file that it uses to do its synchronization with your chosen repository. You can find this setting in the Administrative Console under Synchronization-->[Synchronizer Name]-->Required-->Extension Location
There are some other DLL extension files that could be explicitly defined as well in the Global Agent Settings, I would go through your values and ensure they are set to the correct values, but the specific DLL that is preventing you from seeing templates is the one under your Synchronizer.
