Establish encrypted wireless link with Domain computer

I am begging to migrate all of my wireless links to WPA, currently they are unencrypted. I have a few computers that recieve there connectivity via wireless link. I need to have these computers establish an ecyrpted wireless link so domain users can log on to them with cached credentials. I have 1100 series Ap that establish wireless link with an ACS using WPA and MS-CHAPv2.
I was told i have to set up 802.1x the allow computer to establish link but have not been able to figure this out.

With EAP-PEAP the wireless supplicant uses your windows username / password and the laptop/desktop machine account that exists in the window active directory database to authenticate
With EAP-TLS the wireless supplicant uses the
digital certificate installed on the laptop/desktop to authenticate
Both methods use WPA or WPA2 to encrypt data

  • Establishing a wireless network with airport express

Can someone please help me setting up a wireless network?
I'm using netgear DG834GT and want to set up a wireless network with my airport express. Unfortunately i cannot set it up and need someone to help.
    Thank You

If you want to configure an Airport Express to work with the existing wireless network created by your DG834GT wireless router, then follow the advice posted here by David Lovel (the advice is applicable to both Mac and PC users):

I hope you really did mean to say you were using an Airport Express. Don't confuse an Airport Express with an Airport Extreme card - the Airport Extreme card is the name of the wireless adapter built into your Powerbook.

  • No wireless connection with this computer

I have got a strange problem. I cannot connect with AirPort via my Router to the Internet. So I spent 1hr with the Apple Telephone Support but with no success. I have tried the following:
Connecting via Ethernet cable to Router: OK
Connecting PowerBokk 12" via Airport to Router: OK
Connecting actual MacBookPro to wireless Network in Apple-Shop: OK
Connecting actual MacBookPro via Airport to Router: FAIL
It seems that every single device is ok but I still cannot connect as I like
    Any suggestions or ideas?
    Router: Belkin F5D7630-4A wireless Router 802.11 b/g with Ethernet-Ports
OS: 10.4.9 with all current updates
    MacBookPro 17"   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

Let's first double-check your MacBook Pro's AirPort settings...
System Preferences > Network > Show > Network Port Configurations
    - Verify that AirPort is "On" (checked)
    - Verify that AirPort is at the top of the list. If it isn't, you can drag it to the top.
Systems Preferences > Network > Show > AirPort
    AirPort tab
    - By default, join: Automatic
    TCP/IP tab
    - Configure IPv4: Using DHCP
    - Configure IPv6: Automatically or Off
    Proxies tab
    - Configure Proxies: Manually
    - Select a proxy server to configure: <All proxies should be unchecked unless you specifically require a proxy for Internet access.>
    - Exclude simple hostnames (unchecked)
    - Bypass proxy settings for these Hosts & Domains: <leave blank>
    - Use Passive FTP Mode (PASV) (checked)
If these settings are correct, and you still cannot connect wirelessly, try (temporarily) disabling any wireless encryption (WEP or WPA), and then, try connecting again.

  • Connecting to Wireless Network with domain name and proxy servers?

    Hi,
I'm trying to connect to the wireless network at my college, however it's not as straight forward as usual... The network is hidden, although I know to 'Join other network' and type in the SSID of the network and then set the authentication method to WPA-Enterprise. However, this is where I run into a problem..
To connect, I need to 'configure encryption as AES', which I'm not sure how to do on OS X. Furthermore, after signing in with my college ID I am required to 'Use the domain name [domain name]' and 'configure your browser to use the college proxy servers [example.example.net] on port [123]
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated as it's important that I log on to the network for work etc.
Thanks very much for your time.

The encryption should be configured automatically. To use the proxy:
    1. Open System Preferences
    2. Click on Network
    3. Select Airport from the list on the left
    4. Click on Advanced, near the bottom right
    5. One of the tabs will be called Proxy. Configure your settings there.

  • Ethernet not working, wireless works, with older computer.

    Hi there.
I'm trying to set up a new wireless network. Currently it's looking like this:
DSL Modem set up in bridged mode, connected to my Airport Extreme N (Fast Ethernet) through ethernet.
The Airport Extreme is configured to share the Public IP through DHCP throughout the network (192.168.X.X).
Now all this works (after some trial and error anyway). My computers have no problem connecting to the wireless network, or the USB disks I have attached to the drive (hooked a USB hub into the AEBSN's USB port, and attached two disks to that).
(Computers that are connecting to the network are: MacBook Pro, MacBook, iBook G4, iBook G3)
Now what I'm trying to do is connect the iBook through ethernet directly to the AEBSN. I want to use it as a download computer of sorts, but don't want it to degrade the wireless from N speeds to B/G speeds all the time (the other iBook is off most of the time, and the MBP and MB are both N).
When I turn off Airport on the iBook G3, and plug in an ethernet cable which is running from the AEBSN, I'm not getting an IP at all. It ends up with one of those self assigned IP's. I let it sit like that overnight to see if anything would change, but it remained as is.
So I'm trying to figure out why this isn't working. Am I not setting something up correctly? In the end I'm not too knowledgeable on networking, and am hoping someone here can help me out

Have you tried connecting any other of your Macs via Ethernet to the AEBS? If you do that and the other Mac works, then you know it is a problem with that iBook.
If you try it and it doesn't work it could be a faulty cable or something wrong with the AEBS.
Ensure that your DSL modem is connected to the AEBS's WAN port.

  • How can I re establish my Webmail link on my computer?

My ISP home page is fine, but when I enter my user/password info, I get an error message that it is wrong. My ISP has verified my info and they can access my email. They said the problem must be on my computer.
I recently (12/6/10) made changes to the Adblockplus on Firefox and upgraded to AVG 2011 Security. After that is when I lost access to my Webmail. I uninstalled the AVG upgrade and the problem still exists.
Do I need to uninstall ABP and reinstall?
My computer user level (1 to 10) is 1.5 maybe 2, so I may have fouled something else up in the above processes.

    Thanks for clarifying.
As an interim measure, can you successfully upload with a 3rd party FTP program like Filezilla?
Can we assume you have meticulously "defined" each of your sites?
Perhaps doublecheck the remote server locations you are attempting to upload to.

  • Using iCloud and iTunes match, should I still wirelessly sync with my computer iTunes?

Using an iPhone 4 with the latest updates. I keep getting an error message syncing over my wireless network that says "Cannot sync phone. There are too many files open" from iTunes on my compter. Should I turn off the wireless syncing now that I'm using iCloud and iTunes Match?
There are 4 iPhones that are using this feature on our network, plus AppleTV 2.

Even though you have iTunes match and iCloud, there are several other types of media that aren't included in either of the services, such as movies, photos etc, if you aren't syncing any of these to your phones, then you may well be able to turn iTunes wifi sync off.
Personally, I would want to find the cause of the error message and use the iTunes sync for backup, I consider it far more reliable and convenient than iCloud for back up

  • Problems establishing wireless link -1410 bridges

I have 2 new 1410 wireless bridges on which I can not establish a wireless link using 3ft Andrews Parabolic antennas (33db gain) over a distance of about 17.7 miles. I am running the radios in autoinstall mode, have verified the azimuths and performed vertical sweeps with the antennas on each end off the link, still nothing.
There are no log entries showing any change in the radio or association status. Running debugs while moving the antennas changes nothing as well.
Is there any good reason I would be receiving a link? These new radios and antennas are replacing a pair of old 350s using grid mesh antennas and have gone up in the same place as the 350s.

I didn't try connecting them in the same room, didn't really think about it because I deployed the same set up last year for two other point-to-point links and another one this week without any problems. This link is the longest distance though. I checked the math using the Cisco AP distance spreadsheet and even running at 54Mbps I should be able to get 20+ miles of distance. I checked the path in Google Earth to make sure there weren't any surprise hills in the way, but I'm in KS so hills really aren't much of an issue.
The radios are good, I can perform a carrier busy test and occasionally I will see some other radio signals. My tower guys performed a vertical sweep yesterday with no luck and verified the elevation against the previous antennas. At this point my biggest fear is the antenna towers are not tall enough for this new set up.

  • Wireless link example

    Hi,
I was looking for a Labview example of how to establish a wireless link
between two PXI boxes.  One with a NI 5660 as a receiver and one
with a NI 5670 as a transmitter.  I wish to read in a text file,
convert it to bits, modulate and then transmit from one PXI box
wirelessly to another PXI and recover the file.  It doesn't have
to adhere to any specific standard such as 802.11 and any sort of
modulation such as QAM or PAM will do.  Has anything like this
    been done?
    Thanks,
    Carl

    Hi Andrey -
I apolgize for Minh's lack of response.  He's no longer working on web support, so I won't be able to follow up on his work.
While the exact set of programs requested by the original poster may not exist, there are several example programs that ship with the Modulation Toolkit that can help.  Many of them exist in Mod/Demod pairs, and you can run whichever program necessary on each system.  Their names all start with "MT RFSA" or "MT RFSG", so they're easy to find.  For instance, you could use the MT RFSG Generate QAM and MT RFSA QAM Demod pair.

  • Solution to aluminum wireless keyboard with D-Link DBT-122 on Win XP

On several forums I found a lot of people haveing the same problem I had; the D-Link DBT-122 drivers would ask to enter the pairing key but showed a greyed box so we don't know what numbers to enter. I tried all the tips like changing settings in the registry, changing the drivers, using Microsoft drivers, etc. but nothing worked.
    What did work:
I paired the keyboard with a computer with a different Bluetooth adapter (in this case an Mac running WinXP). I selected to let the driver choose a key for me, wrote it down, enter the key on the keyboard and it paired successfully. I turned off the keyboard (hold the power button about 10 seconds) and removed it from the bluetooth devices on this computer.
Now on the computer with the D-Link DBT-122 adapter; I plugged a standard USB keyboard, started the pairing process, turned on the Wireless keyboard, and entered the pairing key using the USB keyboard to enter the numbers (must be fast; was not fast enough on the first try) and at the end pressing Enter on the wireless keyboard.
I then used the Microsoft utility "remapkey.exe" from the "Microsoft Windows Resource Kit Tools" to put the Delete key on the right command button so I would be able to log in using Ctrl-Alt-Del.
    Voil

I tried to do what you described in this post but it does NOT work. I have a D-Link DBT-122 and Win XP running on a PC and the wireless keyboard.
I type the code in the grey field with an USB keyboard and then I do the same with the wireless one and press "Enter" but it does NOT work.
Did you miss a step in your description?

  • Can I replace the FiOS D-Link Wireless Router with an AEBS?

I have FiOS and the Verizon supplied D-Link Wireless a/g router that came with the service. I've been happy as a clam with the service but I just bought my first Mac (a 15" MBP) and an AEBS. Ideally it would be nice to replace the D-Link with the AEBS. I tried to do this and everything worked except for FiOS Video On Demand (VOD). It complained about some router issue. So my current setup includes using both the D-Link and the AEBS whereby I have wireless turned off on the D-Link and my AEBS bridged to the D-Link. This seems to be working fine in that wirless to the AEBS is working and my FiOS TV functions are working as expected.
Again, ideally, I'd like to just have AEBS in the mix and take out the D-Link router. Can this be done? It seems the Verizon supplied NIM box likes to only be plugged into the D-Link and not the AEBS.
BTW, I haven't found any definitive posts about how to do this. I've seen posts on the bridging aspect and when an ActionTec router is in the mix but not a D-Link.
    Thanks in advance.

Having similar problem - not clear from your post...did you put the Actiontec in bridge mode and the AEBS Connection Sharing to distribute IP addresses? Or is the AEBS in bridge mode? I thought the Actiontec had to handle NAT, DHCP, etc. and the AEBS had to be in bridge mode. If you have the Actiontec in bridge mode and the AEBS doing the DHCP, NAT, etc., can you describe how you have it wired and the settings in more detail? I am trying to extend my network with an Airport Express using my AEBS as the base station, but can't seem to establish the WDS with the AEBS in bridge mode...am stuck right now with the AEBS in bridge mode and dead spots in the farther reaches of my house. Any ideas or help you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
