Establishing of ELSTER/DATEV for ERP2005 systems
Hi!
I have 2 systems (ERP 2005) landscape and have to set up the ELSTER/DATEV approach for these systems.
The system landscape is:
DEV-system (Clients: 100 and 200)
PRD-system (Clients: 100)
We do not have SAP XI, so we need to use SAP Business Connector
Questions:
What is the difference between ELSTER and DATEV, should I set up both of them?
What are the steps are necessary therefor? (SAPCryptolib, SAP Business Connector, etc.)
Do I need to set up the whole approach on each system (DEV, PRD) and each client (100, 200)?

My German colleague tells me ELSTER is the electronic tax filing/ tax declaration interface and DATEV is the interface to export tax information / financial data. Both are specific to the German market.
I don't believe this is the correct forum to address this question. Maybe you could check with some of the middleware or interface teams for more inputs on how to set these up.

- which technical settings should be done for the establishment ELSTER?
- should Business Connector be installed, do I need installation key for this. Who can request them?
- should the whole settings be executed on the productive system and productive client?
- which settings can be done by SAP Basis and which by FI?

Project Management Question - timelines for Production system deployment
Hi
I need an expert advice on setting up timelines for establishing an Oracle Apps Production environment. We are implementing Oracle HR & Payroll at an organization.
Our system architecture is a 2-node application tier and 2-node DB tier (RAC). RAC is configured by another party and we only have to prepare the application tier (2 nodes)
We would be installing Oracle Apps R11i (11.5.10) with jserv load balancing on the 2-nodes
Can anyone suggest how much time this should take to install/configure & patching of the application tier (on 2 nodes)?

We are trying to creat Ibase for Satellite systems in solution landscape in SolMan system, using the automatic generation(TA SOLUTION_MANAGER) for specific solution.
After successfully generation we have only one iBase for one solman system only, but there are some systems in solution.
Does anyone know how to generate iBase for all systems in solution?Hi,
There will be only one iBase for a solution.
Goto tcode IB52 and check. You will find all the systems assigned to your solution appear there.

Best Practice for setting systems up in SMSY
Good afternoon - I want to cleanup our SMSY information and I am looking for some best practice advice on this. We started with an ERP 6.0 dual-stack system. So I created a logical component Z_ECC under "SAP ERP" --> "SAP ECC Server" and I assigned all of my various instances (Dev, QA, Train, Prod) to this logical component. We then applied Enhancement Package 4 to these systems. I see under logical components there is an entry for "SAP ERP ENHANCE PACKAGE". Now that we are on EhP4, should I create a different logical component for my ERP 6.0 EhP4 systems? I see in logical components under "SAP ERP ENHANCE PACKAGE" there are entries for the different products that can be updated to EhP4, such as "ABAP Technology for ERP EHP4", "Central Applications", ... "Utilities/Waste&Recycl./Telco". If I am supposed to change the logical component to something based on EhP4, which should I choose?
The reason that this is important is that when I go to Maintenance Optimizer, I need to ensure that my version information is correct so that I am presented with all of the available patches for the parts that I have installed.
My Solution Manager system is 7.01 SPS 26. The ERP systems are ECC 6.0 EhP4 SPS 7.

In this case you have to assign products EHP 4 for ERP 6 and SAP ERP 6 for your system in SMSY.
You will then have 2 entries in SMSY, one under each product, the main instance for EHP 4 for ERP 6 must be central applications and the one for SAP ERP 6 is SAP ECC SERVER.
This way your system should be correctly configured to use the MOPZ.
Unfortunately I'm not aware of a guide explaining these details.
Some times the System Landscape guide at service.sap.com/diagnostics can be very useful. See also note 987835.

Infopackage Idocs in status 2 - could not find code page for receiver system
Hi,
We just migrated our production system from BW 7.01 non unicode to BW 7.4 on HANA.
We now encounter issues with idocs while loading data into bw from our ECC5 source. When we analyze idocs in the source system it appears with the message "could not find code page for receiver system"
One weird thing is that the idoc seems to have been created before we started the infopackage in bw.. We controlled system time and AS time and everything seems ok.
We did not encounter this issues on our previous migration test runs..

We have two applications servers on our ECC with 2 different OS. One of them could not reach the new BW HANA server.

Performance Issue for BI system
Hello,
We are facing performance issues for BI System. Its a preproductive system and its performance is degrading badly everyday. I was checking system came to know program buffer hit ratio is increaasing everyday due to high Swaps. So asked to change the parameter abap/buffersize which was 300Mb to 500Mb. But still no major improvement is found in the system.
There is 16GB Ram available and Server is HP-UX and with Netweaver2004s with Oracle 10.2.0.4.0 installed in it.
The Main problem is while running a report or creating a query is taking way too long time.

I just applied update:

After I removed the update the VMM was able to start, no reboot required.

i am doing a sample out bound scenario (idoc 2 file), distributing idoc from sap system to csv file (in same network). in this can i use thchnical system type 'third party' for R3 system. will the scenario work properly or not.
And some times some of the business systems in SLD are not visible in ID, when assigning business system in ID.can any one tell reason for this.

--- No u can't use this...Ur technical system must be "WebAS ABAP" only. For file system you use 3rd party system. means ur technical system like follows.

Can we have a new client for PI systems , though we hold an exisiting client ( say 001) in all the environments i.e Dev , QA and Prd ?
If so , what are the risks and is it worth the risk ?
Please suggest .> if we create another client will it be of no use ?

Main optimizer error - There is already a transaction for the system

I am trying to download support packs from maintenance optimizer in solution manager system. When i select the logical system it gives the error
'There is already a transaction for the system of this product version'
After this error, it does not proceed further.
There is many maintanence transactions in Maintanence optimizer. Now how to remove all these.
Any ideas or solutions most welcome.
MosesAs Christian has already written, the only problem is that there is already an open Maintenance Transaction for that specific system. Maintenance Optimizer checks that you do not open two different Maintenance Transactions for a system at the same time.
You only have to withdraw the old Maintenance Transaction to be able to proceed with the new one. Open the old Maintenance Transaction and click "Withdraw" on the bottom of the page. If it is grayed out, you need to go one step backwards, there you can withdraw it.

I am trying to configure maintenance optimizer in Solution Manager 7.0
on Windows 2003 server and SQL 2005 server.
I am configuring this for SAP CRM 2007 server.
Created the server, database and system in SMSY
Created Logical Component in TA code SMSY
SM59 connection for SAP-OSS is OK.
S-User is assigned to a User.
Created a solution using TA code solution_manager.
Defined the product version for the solution created in the TA code
solution_manager.
When creating a Maintenance Optimizer transaction, I select the
product version and its logical component in the Plan Maintenance
(Phase) and click on Continue to go to Select Files Phase, I get below
warning:
Information Procedure 8000000130 Saved
Warning: Status was reset by system
Warning: There is already a transaction for the systems of this
product version
I cannot get pass this phase.
I have deleted and recreated the solution, carried out the same
activity again but its giving the same Warning

As of now, we do not have ChaRM in place. Secondly, we use a single customer number.
I would like to let you know that in our landscape we have two CRM server, one ECC sever, one SOLMAN7.0 server.
I tried to configure MOPZ for CRM, ECC, SOLMAN server to download the respective STACKS.
I was successful in configuring CRM and SOLMAN.
But when I tried to configure in ECC, it failed due to RFC erros.
So I deleted the transaction for the ECC system and deleted the system itself in Solution Manager.
Reconfigured the Systems in "SMSY", RFC connections are correctly defined to configure MOPZ between SOLMAN7.0 and ECC6.0.
When I start configuring the MOPZ, I cannot get pass the first phase and this is when I get an error: There is already a transaction for the systems of this product version.
Please let me know if you need further information.
