EStation Zeen Battery is bulging

Anyone else have this happen? It wont dock becasue the metal backplate is being pushed out from inside, took it to staples and they said the battery is defective! HELP!

I agree with Staples, it sounds like a hardware issue with the Zeen for sure. I would call tech support, and see what options they might have for that printer.

  • Can't seem to unlock pattern HP eStation ZEEN. How do I reset?cc=us

Forgot pattern of HP eSTATION ZEEN, can't unlock to print.

To perform a reset of the HP eStation Zeen, press and hold the POWER button at least 8 seconds.
You can reset the printer by unpluging the power cable and plug it back in.  Press the On button to power up the printer.

  • PhotoSmart eStation Zeen must have the routers BROADCAST of the SSID set to on. Very insecure!

When configuring the Photosmart Estation printer C510a to use the WiFi network, I discovered that the Zeen does not allow that the router hides its SSID. Instead the Zeen wants that the SSID is broadcasts by the router to be succesfull connecting to the network. First let the router broadcast the network SSID and then disabling the broadcast does not help to let the Zeen connect to the network while the SSID is not being broadcast. I think this is a bug in the software of the Zeen because the printer itself does connect to the network even when the SSID is not being broadcast.
I wonder if this is solved when Android 2.2 is being released by HP. According to the rumours I have read on the internet this will soon come out.
Hope someone can help here. I already talked to HP support about this problem, but they could not help me on a short notice. This question has been escalated within HP support.

    Hey @DRB1961,
Welcome to the HP Support Forum.
I understand you're looking to use your Zeen tablet without the HP Photosmart eStation All-in-One Printer.  I would like to help.
My colleague @Sunshyn2005 addresses this same query in detail in another HP Support Forum post.  Click here to review that post.  Essentially, the Zeen tablet is a component of the printer and not a standalone device.  As you no longer have the printer it's not likely you'll be able to continue using the tablet.

  • Youtube on estation zeen tablet not working

I am trying to use the supplied YouTube app on my hp Zeen (eStation c510), but all I get is the spinning wheel (Loading Icon). It just keeps spinning, and spinning, and spinning, and spinning... • HP Gallery (C510a eStation Zeen) Problems

When I first got my printer, I loaded 6GB of images onto the SD card (in one large directory with many smaller subdirectories) before placing it in the Zeen.  I have never been able to get the HP Gallery to work properly.   I just says "Loading..." and goes on forever.  I eventually get an error message.
To solve the problem, I deleted the large directory, leaving just a few images on the SD card.  It still tries to load the same images that I had removed from the card.
Is there any way to reset the HP Gallery so it can start fresh?
Is anyone else having this kind of trouble?
I left it alone and it eventually fixed itself.

MY ZEEN JUST QUIT WORKING.  I WAS TRYING TO GET IT CONNECTED TO MY WIRELESS NETWORK AND THE DISPLAY JUST FADED INTO BLACK.  I DOCKED IT OVERNIGHT AND STILL NOTHING.  CAN THIS BE FIXED OR SHOULD I BOX IT UP AND SEND THE PRINTER AND ALL BACK?

  • Using the eStation Zeen as e reader

Just purchased a C510 HP all in one printer, that has an attached e station zeen tablet.
I was told that this tablet could be used as an e-reader, but I do not have that app
on the tablet, and Barnes and noble is only available in the US and I am in Canada,
Can anyone tell me how to get e books on my zeen.
    Thanks

    Hello Sharon,
So what you could do is open your tablet and then you will see the bottom bar to where you can slide it up and then Select to add a new app
-do this and then go down until you see Ebooks, Select that, Thos should loads different apps and even diferent books For the feature you are looking for

I am close to returning the **bleep** thing! HELP!!!

    Hi @lewisj2010,
and welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I guess your first question is how toget your HP model/product number.  Please see the following which should help sort that problem out.  How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
I would guess it is the: HP Pavilion TouchSmart 14-f027cl Sleekbook. Just one character omitted.
I do the same thing all the time.
I have included this: HP Pavillion Sleekbook 14 Maintenance and Service Guide  as it has disassembly instructions as well as the part numbers for customer replaceable parts, for your notebook.  I am not sure if that one clip is going to be available as an individual part, but at least you would have the proper part number for the keyboard itself, if it proves necessary.
And here is something that shows you some of the ways you can get parts for your notebook from HP:
HP Notebook PCs - Ordering HP Certified Replacement Parts
Finally, as you mentioned your trouble started with some accidental damage, I am including these for your future reference.
    Notebook Keyboard Troubleshooting (Windows 8)
    Notebook Keyboard Troubleshooting (Windows 7)
    Cleaning your Notebook PC
Tips for Using, Carrying and Protecting your HP Notebook PC
I hope that some or all of this has been helpful to you. I tried to cover all the bases in one post.

  • Iphone 5 battery bulge

What to do when iPhone 5 that was bought just one year ago in US has bulging battery?  (I tried to get support/warranty but was informed by apple website that my warranty period is over)
    Please advise

How does something like a bulging battery become our liability??? Isn't that a defect on Apple's part?? I just returned from the Apple store, at Kahala Mall, here in Hawaii. My screen is bulging, separating from the rest of my phone. So i decided to take the phone in to have it looked at. After "running diagnostics" on my phone, which has NO OTHER PROBLEM other than the bulging screen, I was informed that the battery is bulging and that it would be $260 to repair. Why??? If I had caused the battery to bulge, I could understand. But this is a manufacturing problem. My only misstep was purchasing an IPhone. I've owned an IPhone since they came out, but this will be THE LAST IPHONE THAT I OWN!!!!

  • Battery bulging again

I have a MacBook Pro 2,1 that experienced a bulgin battery even though it was outside the supposed serial number range. This was replaced by Apple in 2009. However, this nex battery which I have had now for 18 months began not holding charge lasting only about 30-40 minutes and the power meter told me to service battery. I took it to the genius bar and they confirmed I needed a new battery but I didn't buy one at the time. now two weeks since then I have noticed this battery is bulging too, though not as badly as the first and the casing has split open. Would this be replaced as the first was? Should it?

I had a similar experience today at Apple. The Genius asked me a few questions while he ensured my 2006 MacBook Pro wasn't damaged due to the defective battery that was under 300 cycles and replaced it at no charge. The defective battery was a replacement battery I purchased last year to replace the original that lost charge. While working on the MacBook recently I heard a hiss then pop sound and noticed the outer battery casing bulging. I use this MacBook both for pleasure and work. The Genius decision to replace the battery with a new one made my day and reaffirm why I recommend Apple over Microsoft to family, friends and colleagues. It also reaffirm my decision to upgrade to the MacBook Pro when the next model is released sometime this year. Thank you Apple

  • HP Mini 1030NR Battery Bulging

The battery on my HP Mini 1030NR appears to be bulging. I went to put it back in its case and when I flipped it over I noticed that the battery was bulging and had cracked the casing.
It still holds a charge, but I'm assuming it isn't safe to use. Is there any way to get a replacement?

I assume you are long out of warranty. The HP Mini batteries are unfortunately known to do this. I would call HP and see if you can talk them into a new battery. Good luck. If not, they are sold on this site in the Store or on eBay.

  • Bulging BP4L battery

    Hi Folks
The battery BP4L of my E61i still keeps the phone going for quite a while, but it is bulkier than identical ones in my E72s (I only noticed this when I found the back wouldn't fit properly). Was this (2007) battery slightly thicker at the outset or might it be, like, sort of dangerous??
    hughm_nyksj_dk

Hello hughm_nyksj_dk, if your battery is bulging then its time to replace it. Because the battery is about to die. Now your battery might be frequently discharging it is because of the bulge. Better to replace it.

  • Bulging battery

    Hey all,
My macbook (A1181) battery has bulged on me. I was told by a friend that there is a program to replace the battery due to this as a defect? Is anyone aware of this? If I can save $140 on a new one that would be great.
    Thanks

If you have a MacBook with the removable battery you can get a new third party battery fairly cheap on eBay.

  • Battery bulging problems with Blackberry Curve 3G

My blackberry is making battery(s) bulge up causing them to not work properly, hold a charge, etc.
I know its not that batttery because it first happened to my original battery, and I found this out when I took it into a telus store and they showed me this. They gave me a free used battery that was in perfect condition, not bulged at all and by the next day it was bulged to the size of my first one. It is bulging so bad that it pushes my backing off and has now broken the three bottom tabs that clip the backing into place off. I have talked to two telus operator people over the phone (since in store pople do not have as much knowledge or power) The first said that there were some blackberries that were recalled for having this problem and that if mine was found to have that problem it would be replaced for free since it was a hardware problem not something I could have done. The second said he had never heard of that and that telus doesnt do recalls on anything and that I was basically screwed because I was just over my 1 year warranty.
Im wondering if anyone has had this problem or if anyone has any suggestions.

    Not minor to me.
I'm trying to help you troubleshoot the issue and what you might consider minor information may not be so minor IF it affects the suggestions given you. And, the lack of it just frustrates you and wastes your time in responding.
Anyway, you've already decided what the culprit is... not your battery, not your (or other) chargers. So, it's the device.
Get a warranty swap on the unit from your seller.
    Good luck.

  • MBP 17" (Original) - bulging battery

I have an original MacBook Pro 17" (2.33 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo) just over three years old. Last weekend I was surfing away and the power cut out suddenly. I knew the battery was no too low as i was running on it and checking the level regularly. I was surprised to discover that the battery was dislodged from its cradle. I know they get hot but when I turned the laptop over I found that the battery was bulging at one end enough to force open the casing. It was impossible to close. Inside, the battery is divided into three foil sack 'chambers' and the contents of one had expanded to 'inflate' the chamber. It looks ready to burst. I don't know exactly what is inside but I would NOT like it to get out.
I took it to a service centre and asked if they had seen this before. Their response indicated that it was a common problem and implied that there had been a program to replace them. Apple customer service tell me that there has never been a product recall on these batteries and would only consider it if the laptop was under warranty (which it isn't).
I believe this to be a product fault and not subject to any warranty conditions. I would like to know if anyone else has encountered this faulty part of the product and, if so, had their battery replaced?
    Mark

+*I believe this to be a product fault and not subject to any warranty conditions.*+
Well... actually, all product faults are subject to warranty conditions. That's what the warranty is for... to cover faults in manufacturing workmanship or component failure.
Having said that, there are times where components may exhibit an unusually high failure rate and manufacturers may extend warranties to cover those unusual circumstances. Expanding batteries are certainly not unheard of. As you have had your machine for just over three years, it is clearly outside of any warranty period. If you have gotten three years of regular use out of your battery, that could be considered a normal life and it just may be time to get a new battery.
An expanding battery is a tricky issue however. There are a number of reasons for a battery to fail in this way. There "may" have been an issue at the time of manufacturing which only recently showed up... however, the battery may have been completely up to spec at that time and environmental conditions or other situations may occur which can cause the failure.
I would still suggest that you escalate your call with Apple first. They do tend to be somewhat lenient with replacements for these batteries... sometimes you just need to get the right person. Keep in mind, they may be under no obligation to replace the battery for free (consumer protection laws vary from country to country), so be considerate when dealing with them.
