Estimated time for iTunes 9.1.1 download is 26 hours!?

Every time I try to download the new iTunes (which I need to work my iPhone) it takes abnormally long to download!
So I decided to go on apple.com and download it straight from there. All in all - it begins to download - Estimated time: 6 hours... 13 hours... 26 hours!!!
It stopped at 26 hours.
That is insanely long!
I downloaded it on my laptop, and it took max half and hour.
What is going on with my computer and itunes?

If you had your bank refuse the charge as fraudulent, the iTunes Store probably blocked your credit card as stolen. Go here:

Estimated Time for 100% Battery?

Hi,
I have a MacBook Pro 15 inch (2011 model) for three months now and I'm just wondering, what is the "normal" estimated time for 100% charged battery on this model of MBP (provided that the wifi is on and screen brightness is at 50%)? Mine is saying 6 hours and 10 minutes. Is that normal?

Thanks, I'll give it a go! Btw, can you please tell me what is your full charge capacity? (Maybe that has something to do with my reduced battery life?) Mine is saying 6633mAh.
p.s. you can find this by clicking on apple icon (top left corner) > about this mac > more info > power (on the left pane) - it should then show details of full charge capacity on the right

When i open itunes it gives me an option for itunes U and podcasts download

Hello,
I just purchased an Iphone 5. When I open up Itunes, it gives me a screen that has two tabs at the bottom. One tab is for Itunes U and another is for Podcasts. When I click on either tab, it asks me to either download or open.
I downloaded itunes U and it still does it, so I deleted Itunes U.
Bottomline: I cannot access Itunes on my Iphone 5, although it shows the icon and its there. It keeps bringing me to the screen I mentioned above.

I am in the same boat. I tried repeatedly to contact iTunes support, but was told each time that I had contacted the wrong deaprtment and they could not help me. There must be a way to still be able to use the iTunes store without paying for a system update. If not, I hope they will reimburse me the money I have in my acount.

I have a Sonos system in my house and suddenly discovered that many songs I bought off of iTunes years ago are 'grayed out' when I try to play them from my iPhone or do not appear as options at all when I try to play them on Sonos from my overall music library. I agree it was not all communicated real well, but in your case it will work out. You missed the program where you could have upgraded 100 tracks for 30 cents each (=$30) but now you can do it via Match (=$25). It works pretty simply, per this document:

Yes. If you subscribe to iTunes Match, you can download your previously purchased music again in the iTunes Plus format. To do so:
You need to delete the original DRM song from your library first. Doing this enables you to download the song again in the iTunes Plus format from iTunes in the Cloud.
Click the Purchased tab in the iTunes Store.
Click Music.
Locate the artist of the song you want to upgrade.
Click the iCloud Download icon next to the song you want to upgrade.
Just don't forget to put the Plus files on your hard drive -- properly backed up of course -- and to cancel the Match subscription before the second year rolls around!

Can I set up a timer for iTunes Match?

I use iTunes on a daily basis at my small graphic design business. I've loved having access to my large iTunes library both here and at home.
Unfortunately, the internet connection I have at work is DSL and, as you can imagine, the upload speeds are horribly slow.
While I love having iTunes Match. I get frustrated whenever the iTunes updates Match. This slows everything down to a crawl, including all of the other people sharing the wireless connection. This happens whenever I add a new mp3 to the library. Sometimes these mp3s are long mixes and take forever to upload. I probably do this on a daily basis.
My question to you all is, is it possible to set up a timer with iTunes Match? In other words, could I program iTunes Match to update everything at night when I'm not using the computer and therefore not interfering with my internet connection during the day?
I realize that most people reading this are not using an internet connection based in the late 90's, like we are. Believe me, I've looked into upgrading and it seems as if we're stuck with what we have for the foreseeable future.
I wonder if anyone has ideas for a work-around to this issue?

You might want to look into using Automator to accomplish what you want to do. For example, create an Automator action/script to look in a certain folder at a certain and move the audio files to the "automatically add to iTunes" folder, then have it launch iTunes which would then kick off the iTunes Match process. You could have it do all this after everyone has left the office for the night.
It might require some experimentation, though, to get it just right.

ICloud and iTunes, cannot get the check boxes to stay checked under preferences for iTunes to keep automatic downloads for iCloud, how can I fix this?

When using my iPhone and Macbook with iTunes, I cannot get the checkboxes to stay checked in iTunes to use the automatic downloads for iCloud. It is so frustrating. I check box them and hit ok under store preferences for iTunes, and when I go back in, they are unchecked. TS3992 I purchased more cloud storage but it will not back up. Seems stuck. Just says estimating time for back up but never moves.

I purchased more cloud space but since then have not been able to back up. I press back up and it says back up starting and it says time for back up but nothing happens. No time given and no back up done.

I tried the steps to reformat my external Hdrive, creating a partion etc using GUID partition scheme.
still nothing. Every hour Time Machine starts up says preparing, then stops and no back ups are made.

Quick time for iTunes (Code 42 404)

Get the QuickTime standalone installation. See if you can get that to install properly.

Click the button for the one that doesn't have itunes in it.
If you get QT to install OK, then your iTunes install should go OK, also. iTunes uses the QT codecs to play music & video.

Slow load times for itunes u

We have noticed that lately iTunes U for UW-Whitewater (uww.edu) has been extremely slow, and sometimes even timing out. We have been trying this from various different locations and computers. It appears to be something on the apple side. Has anyone else seen this?
Apple Engineers: Any updates as to what might be going on?

We had the same issue yesterday, but the issue seemed to be affecting only the iTunes desktop application. When I would preview using the iPad, load times were normal. The issue seems to have been resolved this morning.

First time for iTunes Match-having problems

I have iTunes on a PC and have an iPad. I subscribed to iCloud. It gets thorugh the match process and then tries to upload a small quantity of unmatched files, some of which are lecture tapes, and iTunes stops working ont he first one, which happenst to be a lecture. Anyone have experience?
Also, some of my purchased songs did not seem to upload in the cloud, and the song appears in the liabray as still protected (no cloud icon next to it).
I can't figure out why a particuilar song won't load with the others. I purchased iLift specifically for this one song, and it turns out this is one having the problem, and the app won't work because its still protected. Can anyone help?

First you need to enable the iCloud Status column in the iTunes browser.
Switch to Song view, then pull down View > View Options and select "iCloud Status." Now you can close the small window. Find the protected tracks and see what the status is. Incidentally, nothing in your library will be magically upgraded to a DRM-free 256 Kbps AAC files. If the status of the tracks in question is "matched" then you must delete the original from the iTunes library then download the track from the cloud. If the status is "uploaded" the track in the cloud will be the same as what is already in your library.
For the tracks that don't seem to be getting processed, see what the status for them is and post back here and let us know.

Estimated time for MBP 2.8Ghz

Hello
I`m looking forward to buying a new MBP with a 2.8Ghz and a different HD.
Do you guys know how long it will probably take to this MBP be ready to shipping after the order gets placed?
I`ll be in the US for 10 days next month, and I`m afraid it`ll take longer to get ready than the period of my stay.

Wherever you have it shipped to, there will need to be a signature. You might call Apple and ask them to have it delivered to a store close to where you will be staying. You could pick it up there.

ITunes only has categories for ITunes-U, Podcasts and Downloads.

I cannot find music category. How do I get Itunes to show music and any other categories?

You can't - in each country Apple can only sell what they are licensed/allowed to sell (a full list of what is available in each country is listed here http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3599). As you appear to be in one of the countries where music and films are not available then you cannot buy those types of content from Apple (and the terms of use of the stores state that you cannot use another country's store). You will need to find another music download purchase site or just copy your own CDs.
