Yes in an STL file the subs have a comma after each In and Out Timecode (as a separator) and also they don't normally have line spaces between each entry. If you want the subs to be on two lines and "force" what goes on to the second line (rather than SP deciding for you) then where you want the return to be you need to add "bar" symbol (the one above the backslash on a Mac keyboard)
Try it on a couple of lines of your subtitles to see if it works before committing. I usually create my subs as STL files but it should work

    Saludos.

  • Will the use of an Airport Express widen the range of my existing wifi?

Will the use of an Airport Express widen the range of my existing wifi?

Yes, but only if your existing WiFi is being produced by another Apple wireless router.
The AirPort Express is almost certainly not compatible if you are planning to connect using wireless only with another brand of wireless router.

  • Can Airport Express speed up my Macbook Pro's Wifi Connection?

    Hey all
Just a thought, I'm with Virgin Media for my broadband and my Macbook and iPhone can be rather slow on the network. Plenty of devices on but my parents broadband speed should be plenty to manage them all.
My question is, if I purchased an Airport Express, would that maybe speed up my Wifi connection on my Macbook?
Not to sure so thought I'd ask
    Thanks
    Rob

    Hi Bob,
My router and the Airport Express is located directly beneath my bedroom so within perfect range I'd say. I get between 2-3 out of 3 bars of wifi signal on my iPhone and 4/4 bars on my Macbook so I'd say I'm close enough however I have been thinking of trailing a network cable from the router to the airport express through the floor and putting the airport express in the same room as me.
    Thanks
    Rob

.....doesn't that seems to suggest the modem?
That is what I have suggested....twice now. From posts above:
My opinion would be that it is likely not the ISP, unless you have complete loss of Internet service for all devices at the same time......it is the Comtrend device....
    and
I believe that the problem lies with the modem, and not the ISP signal.
Your ISP will likely have a different opinion, though. Please keep us posted on your progress.

I just bought a new Motorola modem. Do I need to reconfigure my Airport Express? For some reason we have WiFi even though the amber light is blinking.

Typically, when changing out networking hardware, it is always a good idea to perform a complete power reset of all of your networking equipment.
I would recommend that you do the following as a minimum:
Power-down the modem, AirPort base station, and computer(s).
Power-up the modem; wait at least 10-15 minutes to allow it adequate time to initialize.
Power-up the AirPort base station; wait at least 5-10 minutes. Note: The AirPort's status light may continue to flash amber after it has intialized. That is because, there may be some additional configuration items necessary, like setting up wireless security, before the overall setup is completed to get a green status.
    Power-up your computer(s).
If the above steps do not solve the problem, start over with step 1 above, but then perform the next steps between steps 1 & 2. above.
Disconnect the AirPort base station from the Internet broadband modem.
While all of the devices are powered-down, perform a "factory default" reset on the base station. This will get it back to its "out-of-the-box" configuration and make setting it up much easier, especially if you use the "Assist me" process within the AirPort Utility. (ref: Resetting an AirPort Base Station or Time Capsule)
After the base station resets, go ahead and power it back down.
Reconnect the AirPort base station to the Internet broadband modem. For the Extreme and Time Capsule, be sure to connect the cable to the base station's WAN (circle-of-dots) port.
Continue with step 2 in the first set of steps.
In this basic configuration, the AirPort base station will broadcast an unsecured wireless network with a Network Name (SSID) of Apple Network NNNNNN. Network clients, connected to the base station either by wire or wireless, should now be able to access the Internet through the ISP's modem. Once Internet connectivity has been verified, you can use the AirPort Utility to configure the base station for wireless security and any other desired options. Please post back your results.

I have on airport express that is 5  years old, I now have a new wireless router.  I want to  use the express just for air waving iTunes.  How do I set it up?

    Hello 84wvu,
It sounds like you want to setup your Airport Express to Airplay music from iTunes.  I found an article with steps to help you get this setup:
Connecting to an existing Wi-Fi network, exclusively for iTunes music
AirPort Express used exclusively for AirPlay by setting it up in Client Mode.
Choose this configuration if the computer containing your iTunes library may be out of direct range of the AirPort Express, but is within range of the Wi-Fi network.
    How to Set It Up
Connect your AirPort Express to your home stereo or powered speakers.
From your computer, join the wireless network. Use the AirPort status menu in the menu bar on a Mac. On a Windows-based computer, hold the pointer over the wireless connection icon until you see your AirPort network name (SSID), and choose it from the list if there are multiple networks available. Enter the network password, if necessary.
Open iTunes on your computer and choose the AirPort Express(es) you wish to stream music through from the speakers pop-up menu in the lower-right corner of the iTunes window.
I also recommend reviewing the sections titled "Some things you should know about AirPort Express with AirPlay" and "Things to consider before you begin" in the full article:

    Gracias

A question. Do I plug the TC into the Comcast modeum Router or the iMac?
Both is good.. but at least one of your routers.. TC or express must be plugged into the router.. the imac can get internet connection by wireless.

  • Airport express causes iphone and ipad to lose wifi

We have a new (3 months old) Airport Extreme in our house.  It provides internet connectivity for an iMac, macbook pro, iphone 3gs, and ipad 2 (and a pc).  Never had any problems.
Two days ago, I purchased an Airport Express to put downstairs, and wirelessly extend the wifi network.  Setup seemed to go smoothly, and all devices reported a stronger signal downstairs.  However, the iphone and ipad started behaving really strangely after an hour or so.  They kepy saying they couldn't connect to the network, and even when I selected the network, they kepy saying the password was incorrect (even though I typed it in 10 times).  I reset the network settings on the iphone, as well as powered it off and rebooted it to no avail. The only way I have been able to get things working again is to unplug the airport express; restore the airport extreme to its factory settings, and then re-set-up the network on the airport extreme from scratch.
After things were working again, I re-installed the Airport Express and configured it to wirelessly extend the network.  Same thing happened: everything was fine for an hour or so, and then the iphone and ipad lost wifi connectivity and wouldn't re-connect. Only way to fix it was again to unplug the airport express and wipe the airport extreme back to factory settings and rebuild the network from scratch.
Is anyone else having this issue?  I'd really love to use the Airport Express for its advertised functions of extending my wifi network (and streaming itunes on my stereo downstairs)-- but if it garbles or kills the ability for my iphone and ipad to use Wifi, that's unacceptable and it will be going back to the Apple store.
I should mention that as far as I am aware, I have the latest versions of ios running on the iphone and ipad, and the latest firmware updates for the airport extreme and airport express.
Has anyone dealt with this problem?
    Many thanks.

Problem solved, found Ninja10's post and was able to fix this problem. Thanks Ninja10!

Problem solved.  I was recommended by a non Apple consultant to manually change the radio channel.  Channel 11 worked.

  • How do I add an Airport Express to extend the range of my WIFI network with my iMac as a base station?

    Hi people
I need help to configure a new Airport Express only to extend the range of my WIFI network.
My ethernet cable from modem is connected directly in my iMac and I am sharing the internet by WIFI inside home very fine.
Now, I would like connect my devices on my garden on backyard.
I can't move my iMac from their place and i just want add a Airport Express between the iMac and backyard to extend the range of WIFI.
But I can't to configure to that. On Airport Utility appear the Airport Express connected directly to internet globe, but don't work.
So, what can I do? What is wrong?
    Thanks all and best regards.
    Carlos Sgrillo, from Brazil.

The AirPort cannot do what you ask.
The Airport needs to connect to a modem, or another router......not to a computer.
The Express can only extend a wireless signal that has been provided by another Apple router.

  • I have an old Airport Express I want to use to extend WiFI (which is best Airport Express or Extreme) and to have a HD for storing Itunes connected to the old Airport as well.         I would also like to have the new Airport hardwired to my Mac (desktop)

I am willing to buy a new Airport Express or Extreme so I can get at least one LAN port - but only if I can use that LAN port to connect to my MAC (desktop) so it doenst have to get internet via the WiFi- AND so I can set it up as its own hot spot.  I think I saw that was possible??  That way my guest network would be separate from my home Network.  Just trying to get the best layout. I have cable modem to old Airport now and USB from it to printer.
Maybe a new Airport - again USB to printer and LAN to MAC(?) then old Airport elsewhere in the house to extend the signal and use USB off it to hard drive to store Itunes?  Would LOVE to have it there to use for Airplay etc- Is that possible- I have read many comments and still not sure if it is possible or not.
Baxically I need a simple solution to storing all my photos- music and movies (MAC only has 500GB) AND have a great back up; Currently have a 1TB drive as Time Machine - so could use that for back up- but running out of space on MAC for all the media I am saving.  THANKS!!

You are asking several different questions. If you need to store your photos, music, and movies on an external volume, you certainly can. Any externally connected hard disk drive will work, connected either directly to your Mac or to your Time Capsule as a shared volume.
You should not rely upon using that as a backup device though. Although you certainly may use it for both purposes, it is a better idea to have dedicated backup devices for a variety of reasons not limited to redundancy. You would not want to simultaneously lose all your pictures as well as your backup. If they are all on the same device, that could happen. Furthermore, a backup cannot back up the volume on which it is running.
As for adding an Extreme or Express, using its LAN port for your iMac, and then enable Internet sharing so you can effectively use the iMac as a "hotspot", you can do that too, but I am unclear on what benefit you believe this arrangement would convey for you.
An Extreme's Guest network is separate from its Main network; that is the reason for having it.

  • Cant set up Airport Express. Trying to create a new wifi at my apartment complex that has provided wifi. I plug the ethernet into the wall in my room and I cannot connect to the wifi.. help please

to help me set up my airport express to my public wifi at my apartment complex

I am a bit lost if you have a public wifi why are you using ethernet into the wall.. is the ethernet just for your apartment.
The Express can work as a wireless  bridge only to the public Wifi nothing else.. it cannot extend wireless.. so the express would need to plug into another router for you to get more than one single connection to the building.
Also does your public wifi have a login page . .. because that will then make life much harder.

  • Benefits of Airport Express wireless printing VS. built in printer WiFi?

I currently use an Airport Express N to enable my old HP laser jet for wireless printing. The HP just stopped working and I need to buy a new one. I'm seeing built in WiFi in some printers today, so I'm wondering if there is a benefit to still using the Airport Express N for my wireless printing vs. the built in WiFi of the printer?
    Thanks.

I do not currently use an iPhone, though I plan to. Any idea if you can wirelessly print from an iPhone with a printer with just built in WiFi vs. doing it from an Airport Express?
    Thanks.
