ETA for Blackberry 5.0 for Groupwise

Hi There!
Anyone had any word or indication as to how far away BES 5.0 for GW is? Days/Weeks/Months/Years?
Anyone know what the chances are that they will do a quickstart version with 5 free licenses like they did when they released Exchange versions?

ETA for SQL Developer 2?

I'm a little excited. Is there an ETA for SQL Developer 2? Is it soon? :-)

Oracle has a policy that does not permit us to provide specific dates for releases. This is for your protection and ours, as features planned for a release may be moved to later releases. Our release plans had been for the full language translation set to be in SQL Developer 1.5.3. With the full suite of languages taking longer than planned, we released 1.5.3 which included Japanese, and added a new release, 1.5.4 to include the rest. As Kristof says 1.5.4 includes further translations and, like our other releases will include bug fixes. As he is not an employee he has no access to our release cycles, and as such his dates are speculation and inaccurate. We are currently working on SQL Developer 1.5.4 and SQL Developer 2.0 both of which are due for release in 2009.

Bridge/Adapters for Groupwise(?)

Hi all,
I got a question from a potential customer about if it is easy to link the standard PIM module apps of o9iASwireless with a Novell Groupwise infrastructure. I know that Exchange and Lotus Notes (Domino) are supported. I don�t know the technical details about Groupwise. Do we have to build adapters/bridges ourselves in this case?

Groupwise seems to be using open standards for e-mail and supports MAPI. They also explicitly mention that all data is exposed via 'open standards', which of course gives no indication of the effort involved. I am deferring the matter of eventual collaboration suite support for Groupwise to the expert on the matter - you should hear from him soon.

ETA for MyVerizon and VZW Stores Coming Back Online?

Is there a proper ETA for when Midwest stores will be back up and running? Yesterday (all day), Minnesota stores reported their systems 'being down.' I can't access "My Verizon", so I can only assume stores are still down, too. Could we get a public statement as to what is going on? Did someone slip up on a database backup or something? When (realistically, not the "in an hour" we've been getting for over 24 hours) is this expected to be fixed?

Try rebooting the router - again - if necessary. Unplug it from power for about 30 seconds and then plu it in again. It would not hurt to restart the iPad either.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
You can also try Settings>Wi-Fi>Your home network name>Forget this network, restart the iPad and then try to find the network and join it again ..... Or Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings, restart, find the network, try to join again.

I'm assuming that when the updated sw_lic_full_installer.msi is released, it will install 11.6.3.633 with the 10.4.1.35 compatibility components (based on the pattern seen over the last half a dozen or so releases). Is there an ETA for its release? I'm using my quick wget script to bang on fpdownload.macromedia.com so as to avoid having to repeatedly download the thing (this way it just grabs the headers notices the Content-Length and Last-Modified values and then sleeps for 60 seconds), but it would be nice to know how long I'm going to have to wait! Things haven't been that bad for the past couple years, so I'm wondering if someone just overlooked something. Or maybe the MSI packager person always goes on vacation in November!
The EXE doesn't install the 10.4.* compatibility components, so if I have to punt to a deploy based on the EXE (which does appear to have been updated), then I'll have to turn around and write an uninstaller for that and then deploy the updated MSI once the MSI releases.

It looks like the explanation might be that the 10.4.1.35 components didn't get compiled until yesterday morning - the dates on those files are 11/8 instead of 11/7 for the 11.6.3.633 components. So the MSI had to wait for the updated compatibility components. In other news, is anyone else noticing that http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/welcome/ isn't working - it's forwarding straight to http://get.adobe.com/shockwave/. It's doing this on the old version as well, so I'm not sure what's up. Would be nice to have a robust way of verifying version numbers from within the player.

Symptom:
ACLs on the WLC do not have the option to log the packets being denied/permitted
Conditions:
In the event that we need to see the packets taking the counter hit, we cannot log the packets
Workaround:
None
For this open caveat, anyone knows what is the ETA for the fixed version? Currently it seems not fixed with the latest release.

yes it would be difficult to push for a fix for this. there is only one case for this and this is marked as an enhancement request as per the description.
TAC should be able to comment better on it.

Z10/BB Link support for GroupWise

I currently use a Bold 9780 and sync my contacts with my GroupWise Address Book on my laptop. It has worked like a champ for 3 years, now I want to purchase the Z10, but Im afraid I won't be able to do that anymore. I'm not in an enterprise environment, just personal use. Anyone have experience with using BB sync with a Z10 and GroupWise?
I'm assuming I can still setup an internet email account and get my GW email on a Z10 like on my 9780? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

You could try reinstalling Link, it could be link or it could be your PC or even your phone. Link has issues and for that reason I do not use it so I cannot tell you about Link.
If you reinstall Link and your issue is still there you can restore your phone to see if it is your phone.
To restore your phone: tap the Settings App, scroll down and tap Security and Privacy, tap Security Wipe, tap the blank box and enter blackberry. This wipes out all data, which usually you would save to Link first if Link was working.
If you restore your phone and your issue with link is still there, then you can remove Link and install BlackBerry Device Manager. https://swdownloads.blackberry.com/Downloads/contactFormPreload.do?code=A8BAA56554F96369AB93E4F3BB06...
You can save most files from your phone to your PC with BB Device Manager.
You can also BackUp your phone with BlackBerry Protect.

Is there an ETA for an InDesign CC performance fix?

I'm referencing the issues surrounding the massive app slowdown many are experiencing (well documented elsewhere on this forum) since upgrading to CC (and possibly related to Mavericks).
I'm not asking for tips/help (I've tried them all and have reverted to CS6 for now); I'm just hoping for a quick progress update from an Adobe rep or anyone that's heard from Adobe.

Minimal open ports for groupwise to use by vpn

What are the minimal ports that need to be open to use groupwise online
remotely (by use of vpn) ?
We use the novell client 4.91sp4 and groupwise 7.0.3hp on windows xp sp2.
- dns resolving for both udp and tcp are authorized and an user
authenticates to the FQDN like mail.domain.com
- port 1677 is open, but then it takes 10 minutes, before you can do
anything.
- after monitoring with an account with full rights to every protocol and
port, we see NCP being used, so after having this authorized, it is already
much better.
Still have to wait 1 minute.
Could it have something to do with the primary or dns suffix entries?
We do not use primary or dns suffix entries, so these are empty. The
connection suffix is being set by the dhcpserver. So this name differs for
each person at home.
What we see in the capture is that the groupwise server name is being
accessed by its hostname, like <servername>.<connection suffix>
An enduser can not resolve these server names remotely, unless the FQDN is
being used.
We do not wish to change primary of dns suffix entries, and prefer changes
on the serverside instead of clientside, but is this possible in this
situation?
Anyone has experience with this ?
Also some icmp request are being made. Is it required to allow icmp to the
groupwise server?

by the way : if we remove the novell client, then only port 53, 1677 are ok
and performance is ok (within 10 seconds groupwise client opens)

tcp is decreasing the timeout?
In the Groupwise client options the archive and views are all located on a
netware server using the UNC syntax.
I do not see the public ip in the traces. In fact when tracing with a client
with restricted rights, I do not see anything at all. I need to trace with
all rights, to see what possibly could be used as protocol. Then I noticed
ncp (524) being accessed. So after that I authorized that and it was like a
dream came true.
However.... like I said. only with the novell client (4.91sp4) being used.
without novell client it just works fine. In vista with both novell client
and vpn client the slow gwclient also does not appear.

Need guidance for eDirectory for GroupWise 2014 Installation

I am installing GroupWise 2014 on Windows Server 2012. I first need to install eDirectory. This will at first be a test server for now. I don't know what to do for the eDirectory install. The documentation tells us what to do but it does not give a visual example or sample of what to put in. So, it does not make sense to me.
I am including two attachments. One attachment shows my eDirectory installation screen where I am to declare a tree and context, and to create my Admin account. Why do I keep getting a Context Format Error, and what should it look like? Please provide an example for each field shown on the screenshot example. Also, if you need a domain name, let's call it mycompany.com for now. The Windows 2012 server is in Workgroup Mode and it will not be joined to Active Directory.

You are aware that with GroupWise 2014 no directory (be it eDirectory or Active directory) is not needed anymore?

De GroupWise documentation does indeed not go into the eDirectory details. eDir is seen as a different product for which you can find the needed documentation in it's own section.
I'm curious though, are you wanting to install eDirectory because you will need that at a later point in time, or because you think that is required to run GroupWise 2014?
