Well.. MS always releases the admx templates which is so easy to import and are updated for the new OS. For instance see the ADMX which is available to download below for Windows 8 (not 8.1)

Also MS has recently released the reference spreadsheet below which is now updated for windows 8.1:

ETA for Windows 8 Thinkvantage software and drivers?

Hello,
I realize Windows 8 just went gold at the beginning of the month, but what is the release plan for drivers and software for the ThinkPads? I'll have the released product next Wednesday when it hits the MSDN download center.
Are we going to have to wait until general availability + 30 days or what? That would be after Thanksgiving.
I am mostly interested in Power Manager, power management driver, hotkey support, and a few other things. What is Lenovo shooting for as a release plan?

I have to deploy the default home page to my domain. I already find the Home Page in com.apple.Safari.plist, but if i change the file with notpad, allways restore to apple.com
How i change and deploy the changes i want to my Domain with Windows Safari Browsers!

Windows 2012 & 8.1 ADMX with Windows 7 System

Hello,
We are a Windows 2008R2 & Windows 7 Ent Shop with System Center 2012 R2 & PKI Servers.
We need to deploy 30 Windows 8.1 Enterprise Lenovo Tablets to the field.
Would all our Windows 7 GPO still work if we upgrade/update our Central Store with Windows 2012 & 8.1 Definitions?
Can any problem occur that we should be prepared for?

Existing GPOs don't take care of ADM(X) templates as long as you don't
edit them, so yes, they will continue to work perfectly.
THere was an issue in WIndows Vista with ADMX from WIn7 or above (Vista
doesn't support the new reg_multi_sz possibilities introduced with W7),
but W7/W8/W8.1 all support the newest ADMX templates.

Adding Administrative Templates (.admx) for Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 to my Windows 2008 domain

Hi,
We have a Windows 2008 domain, and now we need to configure IE 10 options, so we have to import the Windows 8 / 2012 ADMX files. Can we just do the following:
1. Download

2. Unzip it and copy the .admx files to c:\Windows\Sysvol\<domain>\policies and create a directory called policydefinitions
3. Then just re-open Group Policy Management ?
Correct way or not? Will this have any implication on network or any old GPO.

Doesn't exist - only "Server certificate". The old URL might still be valid.

IE 11 on Windows 7 Enterprise 32 and 64 bit

I'm testing IE 11 for sites my company uses to conduct business. I've tested IE on both Domain joined and non-domain joined work stations. I have an issue where IE 11 doesn't display the notification bar for certificate errors, downloads, or ActiveX controls.
We do have a few sites that we want to run in Enterprise mode, so that is enabled in the Local Computer Policy. There are no other settings configured in the Local Computer policy for Internet Explorer. I'm seeing the same behavior on both Windows x86 and
x64. The only strange behavior I've noticed is that after upgrading to IE 11, the Internet Explorer administrative templates fail to load. I get an error reporting a problem at line 795 column 308 regarding the Advanced_EnableSSL3Fallback entry. It states
that the reference couldn't be found. IE 8 and 9 both work for the sites we are using and both display the notification bar as expected. I've tried enabling Mixed content, unsigned ActiveX controls, initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe, disabling
Protected mode, enabling the prompting of ActiveX controls, and disabling Prevent ignoring Certificate errors. Nothing I have found has corrected the issue. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I copied in the latest inetres.adml and still get the error on my GPO's.
An error has occurred while collecting data for Administrative Templates.
The following errors were encountered:
Resource '$(string.Advanced_EnableSSL3Fallback)' referenced in attribute displayName could not be found. File C:\Windows\PolicyDefinitions\inetres.admx, line 795, column 308
is there a step I am missing?

There is a newer version of INETRES.ADMX/ADML available since February 2015, via 3036197 or MS15-009/http://support.microsoft.com/kb/3021952 which includes the settings for disabling SSL3.0 Fallback,
so you'll need the INETRES files from that update, as a matched pair of files, to resolve this symptom.
Also, note that MSFT have just (in the last 24 hours) released a new CU for IE which is MS15-018/3032359, but that is still making its way through the MSFT publishing system. (because of which, I can't confirm if there might be yet another updated INETRES
fileset pair)

Getting 2 Errors on inetres.admx

Hi guys, I don't know what else to do, i hope to find some help here.
The first problem is:

The second is about an error = 2, It says that windows can't find the file in c:\Windows\PolicyDefinitions\inetres.admx

Which IE do we use? We can copy the inetres.admx and inetres.adml from another healthy computer which has the same IE as this computer.

Windows 8.1 - Security policies not applying

Hi All,
I'm having a bit of an issue with group policy settings not applying on Windows 8.1. Most of the policies are applying as they should but for some
reason certain security settings (Password policy, Account lockout policy, Interactive logon message etc.) are not.
I can see from GPResult that the policy is not filtered out and can confirm that some of the settings from the policy are getting applied!
FYI: The DC is WS2003 and we have not imported the Windows 8.1 ADMX templates... Could that be causing the issue?
Any help you guys might be able offer would be greatly appreciated!

As I know, Security policy like Password policy, Account lockout policy, Interactive logon message should work even the DC is Win Server 2003.
I suggest you check whether these policy are overridden by other GPOs due to the the GPO Priority, you can find detailed information in this link

Hi,
I know that a lot of people are asking for an offical ETA on Windows Vista RTM (both 32 and 64bit versions) drivers, for all creative products.
My question/ request is that large companies like Creative give the people who have all adopted their technology or are thinking about adopting it a little more information.
I'm a software developer, and if I was to tell my clients that the software they've paid for is going to be ready at some random point in the future, they'd laugh at me and walk out. Can Creative be a little more forthcomming with a date and progress of development for those of us currently either without sound/ with a buggy set of beta drivers or are waiting to take the plunge based on the final release? -- Keep your customers happy, it's rule number one!

Zen Vision: M 30GB Not responding at

I'll go straight to it. Yesterday, I tried to put a 700~ mb file into the player. It just took 73 days and 6 hours, to transfer according to the ETA that Windows got. However, the player sort of "died". I came home now, to see that the player is just black on the screen. Moving the slider button to the power icon does not work. Reset button does not work either (the one you need a paper clip or similar for). If I attach it to the computer, it's blinking blue on the side of the slider button, but nothing more, not even detected. The battery is fully charged too.Using the latest firmwire, however, I got Windows XP and Vista, so I had to switch to XP to install the latest. And the operati've system I used when I tried to transfer that file was Windows XP.But is there no way to get it back ali've? Policy definition corrupted?

I am trying to edit a Group Policy on a server 2012R2 box.
I get a popup error which says "Resource '$(string.VerMgmtAuditModeEnable)' referenced in attribute displayName could not be found. File c:\windows\policydefinitions\inetres.admx, line 1495, column 249"
And the InternetExplorer nodes are completely missing from the policy editing Window (under User Policies, Administrative Templates\Windows Components) so I can't view or edit these settings. I have five DC's in the domain and - not surprisingly
- they all show the same symptoms.
SFC doesn't find anything to object to.
Do I have a corrupted file? How can I (should I) attempt to repair this?

Group Messaging errors

I cannot send or receive group messages when one or more member of the group is not on iMessage. I have group messaging turned on in settings and send as SMS or MMS as well. This problem is on my iPhone and on my Mac.

I have an installation of Server 2012R2 as my DC. I am trying to setup GP for users to provide settings for IE10/11. I am not finding all of the options and I keep receiving an error about the admx file.

I downloaded the file from MS and tried copying it to that directory in an elevated command prompt and it says I dont have permission to do that. I looked and it seems that everything is only read/execute with no modify ability. So I was going to try creating
a central store on SYSVOL per a suggestion on another forum, but I cant create a folder in SYSVOL\Policies because only the SYSTEM has modify rights.
I am logged in as a Domain Admin user. How am I supposed to fix my GP issues if I dont have the "right" to do it?
All suggestions will be appreciated.
