/etc/modprobe.d folder is empty

My modprobe.d folder is empty.I don't have a modprobe.conf file in it.
Pacman did not seem to have altered any files in this folder,when I upgraded.

I've never used fedora, but arch will not ever do any blacklisting - it doesn't do our thinking for us. Some arch users need to blacklist some modules.
If everything is working for you, then it sounds like you are set. You can add .conf files to that directory and they will be used by kmod the same as they would have been by modprobe.
As for the differences, if some modules were blacklisted for you by a fedora install or some other automatic process, perhaps it was to liberal and it listed some that wouldn't bother your system. If you're curious you could try removing some to see if everything still works.
But as they say, if it aint broke ...

Hey guys, maybe you can shed some light on my problem.
I'm trying to do a HDA-intel sound card fix and need to access /etc/modprob.d/alsa-base...but it no longer exists there, infact nothing does except "framebuffer_blacklist". (I should be there right, I mean I've done this fix at least 5 times before...).
Okay, so I know it never used to be practically empty so wheres the stuff gone from there? Was it moved? I'm running the kernel 2.6.27-ARCH and I'm assuming it's to do with the upgrade...
Also, is there a mailing list that I can sign up to to alert me of such changes? (if it is a change anyway)

System tools folder is empty - How can I restore the items?

MY System tools folder is empty.
Is there any way of restoring the items such as System restore, backup, scheduled tasks etc.
All these are accessible by other routes

I have zipped up the folder on my computer and I have uploaded it to a filehost for you.
All you need to to is:
1. Visit http://www.filehost.gr/593219 , scroll to the bottom, wait 1 minute for your session to activate and download.
2. Unzip the files in the folder.
3. Cut the files and right click Start Menu and select Explorer All Users, find the System Tools folder and insert the items there.
If you notice the programs don't work, then there are some corruptions in your XP and you can either try and fix manually or I recommend doing a format with the restore disk as a safe bet to fix all problems on the computer - back up all your files to an external HDD or CD/DVD if you do though.

Process Multiple Files:"source folder is empty"

When i try to select a particular folder I get the message,"the source folder is empty".
The folder does have images in it,having checked in preview and file info and double clicking on it.
It seems only to be affecting this particular folder.
Any ideas people?

The issue can be due to:
1) Space in the folder name.
2) Some specific permissions or file types etc.
I would suggest creating a new folder and copy your images into it and try.
ALso in case you still have an issue please share the exact location name or screenshot of the settings you doing in PMF dialog box.

Trash Folder gets emptied every few days

Every few days the Deleted folder gets emptied and I can't find any way to stop it. It makes it very difficult when I'm expecting a delivery or need to remember log in info etc.
I used to use Window Live Mail and the Google Inbox app on my phone and have it set up to access my mail as IMAP so I could check my mail where ever I was and that worked but when I noticed my mail vanishing I stopped using one then the other to try and figure out if one or the other was causing the problem. I'm currently only accessing my mail via the web page and it still vanishes. Sometimes after a few days and sometimes after a few hours. I've checked the options and there's no "Empty deleted folder" option that I can find.
I'm still on BT Yahgoo mail even though I was swapped once then that got reverted.

If you want to keep it, why put it in the trash folder? Would it not be better to either leave it in the incoming folder or move it to another folder that you could make for the purpose of keeping emails.

In Answers am seeing "Folder is Empty" for Logical Fact and Dimension Table

Hi All,
Am working on OBIEE Answers, on of sudden when i clicked on Logical Fact table it showed me as "folder is empty". I restarted all the services and then tried still showing same for Logical Fact and Dimension tables but am able to see all my reports in Shared Folders. I restarted the machine too but no change. Please help me out to resolve this issue.

Contents in Documents Folder Suddenly Empty

I'm a single user and I found that today my contents in documents folder suddenly empty. I also noticed that my free space doesn't have any change (the documents folder contents contain of thousands SVG, Ai, EPS, PSD, PNG, JPG, files). Unfortunately I don't have time machine, I just bought this mac for about three months ago. This is so frustrating.
I tried to:
-check my trash bin, nothing found
-search my files over spotlight and finder, nothing found
-restart my mac, nothing happened
-verify disk permissions, found one invalid permissions, fixed
-verify disk, no problems found
I tried another solutions:
in terminal (ls -ael ~/Documents)

BUT NOTHING FOUND what's in my documents folder.
What would cause the contents of my "documents" folder to suddenly disappear?
Right now I'm scanning my Mac if there's any virus. I'll update soon if I found any.

There is not malware involved. It's extremely unlikely that you would have any Mac malware, though the scan may well turn up some Windows malware attached to e-mail messages or something similar.
As to what the problem is, that's hard to say. One possibility is that you have somehow accidentally moved them to a different folder. Since Spotlight does not search everywhere and could be handicapped if something is wrong with the search indices, try searching for one file whose name you know with certainty using EasyFind.
Unfortunately, whatever may have happened, if those files can no longer be found on your hard drive and cannot be found by data recovery tools, they are gone for good since you don't have any backups.

SharePoint Online - Open large Doc Library With Explorer - "This folder is empty"

I'm using a Document Library in SharePoint Online to store over 50,000 files at around 40gb. I am a Site Collection Administrator, and I am in the Site Owners group. I can open the library in a browser and it displays the files correctly:
However, when I try to open this same library using Windows Explorer, it shows "This folder is empty."
I can add documents to this Document Library through Windows Explorer. However, once I close and reopen Windows Explorer, those documents no longer show in Windows Explorer. Any idea what would cause this and how do I resolve the issue?

Likely because you're exceeding the 5,000 LVT which also impacts Explorer view.

Media folder is empty, how can I get the clips back?

The first time, this problem appeared was when I imported data in a new project. For two times the import stopped and I didn't find any clips in the media folder.
Then I succeded with importing and worked on the project several hours.
But now theres no data from this project on the computer anymore, after I had worked on it today. I didn't save any changes, just pressed "apple Z" and the i Movie window was empty, clips disappeared and stuff. The media folder is empty again and when I start iMovie it sais, that it can't find the clips.
The clips are not in the waste basket and i searched for it everywhere but i can't find them.
Do you know what could have happened and how I can get my data back?
I have an older version, iMovie 3.0.3 on Mac Pro.

Normally Apple-Z will undo just the last thing I've done but yesterday it deleted everything and I don't know how to get it back.
True, that is what should have happened, but in your case for some reason it cleared the lot. If there is nothing in the media folder, and nothing in the trash, then it sounds as though you have truly lost everything. The big question is really why the problem occurred in the first place.
As Lennart says, you should not still be using imovie 3.

Can't access files in Time Capsule in WIN7 64 Bit- says folder is empty

Hi there. I can't seem to access my files in Time Capsule using WIN7 64 BIT, it works fine as a router , i can see the time capsule online and how much space it's occupied, however whenever i click on it , it says folder it empty. I can access the files from OSX 10.6 (Snow Leopard).
I tried to drag and drop new files into the Time Capsule in WIN7 , it copies/paste the files fine for a second and then disappear, and if i go back to the Snow Leopard i can see those folders again , so i am guessing i need enable some kind access/ file sharing option or whatever that allows the files to be visible. Has anyone faced this situation in WIN7 64 BIT ?

Alsa entries in /etc/modprobe.conf

could someone who has all the alsa options compiled as modules post that part of their /etc/modprobe.conf? i'm only getting 3 lines and i believe there are supposed to be more, causing me to have to run alsaconf every time after booting. for some reason the other modules aren't getting written to the file. appreciate!

/etc/modprobe.d/*.conf does not work

I want to pass an option to a kernel mod on bootup. Specifically I want to alter the polling rate of the USB mouse to 500hz, by passing the options usbhid mousepoll=2 to usbhid mod.
I added a new file to /etc/modprobe.d/ called usbhid.conf with the following contents:
options usbhid mousepoll=2
And by executing at runtime:
sudo modprobe -r usbhid && sudo modprobe usbhid
Then the mouse correctly runs at 500hz.
So the conf file works if I execute it manually, but it doesn't get executed on bootup even though I have modconf on the HOOKS= in /etc/mkinitcpio.conf.
Anyone knows what's wrong and why this doesnt work, or how I can debug it to find it out by myself?
