Ethernet does not show up in list of interfaces

Hello, we have a customer with an iMac and they are having issues with the wired connection on it. Occasionally, it will just say "disconnected" when they go to system preferences, network. I had her remove the connection but when she goes to readd it, "Ethernet" is not in the list of interfaces. I did the same steps on our Mac Mini and it indeed was a choice. They have used wired networks in the past. The local Mac cafe has fixed this previously by resetting a preference file, how would this be done? I researched the issue but wanted to be sure, and be able to tell them for sure whether this would clear their wifi settings or not.

If there are no other LR’s installed on your computer, and you have logged out of CC Desktop and rebooted, then LR5 CC should be available in your CC Desktop apps list and available at https://creative.adobe.com/products
No LR that you install from the cloud will ask for a serial number so if a LR is, then it is the trial from www.adobe.com <http://www.adobe.com> and that needs to be uninstalled. If need be, installed the non-CC version, again, then uninstall it, just to make sure it’s uninstalled properly.

Installed HP Color Laserjet 3600n software but does not show in model list

Recently installed the HP software for my Color Laserjet 3600n on my MAc OS X 10.5.5 laptop. The software says it is installed successfully, but when I try to set it up for printing via IP address, it says the ip address is valid, but at the bottom, iwhen I choose select drivers, my model does not show in the list.
Any thoughts?

What IP printing protocol did you try, and what does it say to use in the manual?
Since it's not a postscript printer, I wonder if it uses More Printers > HP IP? (instead of IP printer)

Custom Ribbon tab does not show in generic list

I was able to use your custom ribbon tab XML just fine. The only thing is, the copy you provided had a bunch of illegal characters embedded in it (like reverse quotes?), I'm not sure if they're showing up in your version of the XML or not. Anyway,
after replacing those with straight quotes and fixing some other misc formatting, it worked fine. I created an empty SharePoint project and added an empty element, then added your XML to the Element.xml file. In SP, I created a new custom
list and the "My Tab Name" tab appeared with a button that displayed "Hello World" when I clicked it. So, I recommend checking the formatting of your XML. Just look for red squiggles in the editor and fix them.

Mailbox does not show on Mailbox list on Mac

I am using Apple Mail and I recently created a new mailbox called "Pricing" on the Mac client. However, while the Mailbox/folder shows when I access it from my iphone, the Mailbox does not show on the mailbox list (left side panel) on the Mac Apple Mail client. How do I resolve this?

Under MAILBOXES left side of the Mac Mail window scroll down to the bottom of your list of mailboxes.
If you find Pricing, drag that folder up where it belongs alphabetically.

When filtering by keyword and using "Edit In" with Photoshop, edited file does not show up in list

When I do an "edit in" using CS5 and save it, the edited file does not show up in my LR4 preview window.

There are two distinct modes by which Edit In... may first open an image into PS: as a fully pre-converted rendered file; or as an on-the-fly converted image in memory.
(When LR opens a PS-edited image a second time into PS, using "Edit Original", the former option is always used.)
In the latter case, it is ACR which does this on-the-fly conversion, working from the original image (as imported into LR) plus your subsequent LR adjustment metadata. This means ACR compatibility with LR becomes an issue - as it is not, with the pre-rendered file option.
There is a useful clue to which mode is being used:
the title of the PS document window, in the case of the on-the-fly conversion, still shows the name of the Raw file (or whatever) that you started with in LR... no file has been saved as yet, to say any different. You can Save or Save as, wherever and under whatever name, and from now on LR will look there for your edited image. Or if you close unsaved, LR has no edited image to show at all.
the title of the PS document window in the pre-rendered case, is the name of a file already saved on disk and already showing in LR. If you then saved this elsewhere, you would merely make a duplicate which LR cannot know about - and if this duplicate is the one which contains your PS work, LR will accordingly not show that. It is busy showing the content of the specific file that was passed to PS.
So, if inside CS5 your document is called something like IMG23334.dng - you can save it wherever you like. If inside CS5 your document is called something like IMG23334-edit.tif - you will have to save your changes back to that exact same file, in order for them to be seen in LR.

My Ipod does not show in source list in itunes

I have recently downloaded itunes 7.7 (previously using 7.1) - my ipod is no longer showing in the source list in itunes although I get the usual clunk clunk sound when I attach it to the PC.
I have tried to re-set unattached from the PC and attached to the PC to no avail.
The only thing that I can think to do is to uninstall the ipod software and itunes and re-install both - but I will have to get some CDs first as I have a lot of tunes in the itune library which will be lost if I delete itunes.
Can anyone suggest anything else which may help please??

I am having a similar problem. I have done the "5 R's" and even had my iPod replaced with a new one by apple (suspecting they couldn't solve the problem). But even now, with a completely new iPod, Windows (Vista) recognizes the iPod (as it did previously), but iTunes does not. The iPod displays that it is connected, but does not appear in the iTunes source list! Then, as soon as I disconnect the iPod (as there's no other way) then suddenly it appears and several error messages come up saying: "Jarad's iPod cannot be synced. The required folder cannot be found." !!! This is so fustrating!!!! Is there anyone out there who can help?

Aperture purchased in app store does not show in purchased list.

It shows as INSTALLED if looking at the app on it's individual page, but can't redownload it when it is not in the purchased list. How do I fix this?
It crashes on launch and I can't reinstall it. If I move the app to the trash, the indivual page shows the purchase price instead of INSTALLED. The other apps I have purchased show on the purchased page.

Well this is getting very intriguing now. Unfortunately I can't see your computer's screen to verify it's not something simple... ie just not seeing the item.
If what you say is true, then this may be something engineering may want to look at. Whatever the case, let's contact iTS and start some correspondance with an advior for now.

Fish Eye Hemi plug in does not show in filter list of Photoshop 11

I cannot get Image Trends Fish Eye Hemi plug in to appear on the list of plug ins-filters in PSE 11. I used to use it in PSE 10. Does anyone have a solution?

If you already ran the installer, then you can go to
(i don't why the installer doesn't see pse 11)

and copy the three plugins highlighted below to

IPhone 4s does not show in device list

and iTunes is blocked. When I disconnect iPhone iTunes restart. Charging is ok.

Firstly, make sure that your device is not hidden (left hand pane). If it just reads device then toggle between SHOW and HIDE.
Secondly, try all the other ports on your computer, even a number of times.
Thirdly, make sure your lead /connections are no faulty.
Fourthly, if you have another computer try plugging your device into it without taking any action, give it a moment, remove it and try it back in your other computer again.

I am cleaning up old programs and find there are 2 versions of FF installed. I just installed RC versio and it does not show in the list of installed programs so I am lost as to which one to delete, V4.0 or 4.0b8

You probably only have an orphaned entry left in Add and Remove programs and only have the last update of the Firefox 4 version installed. It happens more often that the updater doesn't remove the entry from the previous installation, but only adds a new entry for the new, updated, version leaving you with two entries. You can use a registry cleanup program or remove the registry key yourself if you are comfortable with editing the registry.

The firefox icon shows on my desk top and in my task bar, but why does it NOT show in my list of Program files?

"mailto" does not show in the applications list undet "options"

I want to set gmail as my default email program in Firefox. When I go to Tools>options>applications, the "mailto" application option does not show in the list. How do I find this?

Try to delete the mimeTypes.rdf file in the Firefox Profile Folder to reset all file actions.

You can look at the network.protocol-handler.external.mailto prefs on the about:config page. 
If network.protocol-handler.external.mailto prefs are user set (bold) then right-click and Reset them to the default value.

Lexmark x264dn does not show up as scanner

For the life of me, I can't figure this out.
My Lexmark x264dn (networked, ethernet) does not show up as a scanner in Snow Leopard. It installs, the drivers update, but in System Preferences it's only displayed as a printer. I checked Lexmark website, am using the most current drivers - scanning and printing - and nothing.
It works as a scanner, but only if I use Lexmark's cumbersome web interface. It's connected to our Airport Extreme and is recognized on all four Macs and one PC in the house. Any thoughts?

Not only doesn't it work with 10.6 but I couldn't get the scanner to work with Windows 7 either. I had their tech support try for three hours by them using remote access to my iMac. They finally gave up. I don't know how they can list this as being compatible with either operating system.
