Ethernet is connected and showing IP, but no connection

I recently upgraded using the combo update for 10.6.6 so originally my online research made me think the issue of showing a green ethernet connection and still not being to connect was that. But today I was able to connect from another connection source. Same cable different ISP, no problems. While at home I am unable to connect.
What diagnostics can I run to resolve my issue of no connection on my home network. By the way, my home connection is my apartments free ethernet jack so no modem or router, which I was using 48 hours ago prior to 10.6.6 upgrade.

When you change between different ISP connection this is why Apple made the System Preferences->Network pane and at the the top of the pane is "Location". Pull that down and create a custom Location calling it whatever you want. Then in the Network pane click the 'Apply' button to save this new Location. This way you can create and save different Network Locations.
Now if you are connecting directly to a Modem and change devices that is connected directly to a modem, that is bad. You modem is not that sophisticated and is looking for a MAC address (not Mac) that was originally connected to it. So as a Home user you must turn that modem OFF for at least 3 minutes, so the ISP server will start looking for a new MAC address that will connect to that modem.

You might want to try resetting your router and your modem - just unplug the cords, leave them unplugged for about 3-5 minutes and then replug the modem and then the router in that order.
This may or may not correct your problem - call back if it doesn't.

I moved it because I did not have room on my hard drive to import my latest video. I take videos my grandkids basketball games then edit them as projects. I don't have room to move the whole events library back to my hard drive. Can I move part of it at a time.
I filled up my 1 TB back up drive so got a 3TB to move my video projects to. Do I have to move both the i photo videos and the projects to the 3 TB drive together some how. When can I delete them off the hard drive .
I moved all the i photo library to the 3 TB drive and deleted them out of i photo. That is 87 GB which I don't have room for on my hard drive.
I think when I use the export movie to my hard drive it works but will I still be able to edit it later if I want. Is it best to do quick time or i tunes if I use the export feature.

it was not just email it was all internet via safari but all apps including the bank account app. the laptop and pc access the same email servers which work perfectly so it is difficult to blame the servers.
by the way it has now started to work properly at lasst after a whole day of trying to resolve this year.

Options for when an iOS device gets locked because of forgotten passcode:
Restore (and reset passcode) on your device by connecting it to the last computer to which it was connected:

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. Thanks for the swift reply, I have been looking online and a loose plug seems to be somewhat of an issue with many, I hope mine is actually a problem and not what others are experiencing. It's taken me this long to even reach out for the simple fact I HATE being a complainer but this is just horrible.

You can't, Anh. That's what people are telling you. At this time there's no way to get out of recovery mode. You're playing around with beta software and this is what you get.
Tell your "developer friend" he needs to talk to other developers to see if this can be fixed, or have him replace your devices that you should never have let him play with to begin with.

What TC do you have? Model number direct from the base is a big help, it will be A1 followed by 3 numbers.. eg
A1409 Gen 4.. The new AC is A1470
How is it setup?
I need the whole network setup. what modem/router, how is the TC connected etc??
I also need to know what IP the ipod gets, so I can see what mode the TC or network router is working in.

Check iTunes and see if you have a pending/stalled download e.g. Podcast, Music, Movies or iTune U. Finish off the download and apps should start downloading.
If there are no pending or stalled downloads, sign-out of account, reboot and sign-in again.

I recently re-image my Toshiba laptop (using window xp installation disk) due to I deleted few system files accidentally and can not boot the system up.
Before I re-image, I have no problem to connect Fios internet. After the re-image, the wireless network connection not showing up in network connections, so I cannot set up my Fios internet.
How to set up the wireless network connection that it will show up in network connections? Thank you very much for your help.

Issue Resolved. I did not turn on the wireless switch.
