Ethernet Logo on Status Bar

Hello to everyone,
I have a problem, I couldn't find a way to enable the ethernet activity logo in the Status Bar. It's really simple for the Airport (Wifi), and it is pre-enabled, but for the ethernet it isn't...
My question is simple: Is there anyone who knows how to enable the ethernet activity logo on the status bar?

I assume you're referring to the menu bar, as there's no global "status" bar in the Mac OS. If so, I don't believe that there is any menu icon for enabling/disabling ethernet. Ethernet does not need to be enabled or disabled like wireless... if you don't want to be connected any more, just unplug the cable. If you want to be connected again, just plug in the cable.

I have same issue. I click on the home button and Wake/sleep at the same time for 30 seconds or more and then the phone entered in Recovery mode. It is erasing my content now and installing the update. Let´s see how this ends. I have iCloud, iTunes match, and backups from previos versions, hope I can restore all my content.
Otherwise I´ll go to the Genius Bar to do a checkup.
    Good luck!
It did not work the first time... The iPhone4 kept in limbo. Then I did disconnect as suggested above and tried again to enter in Recovery mode.  This second time it works. And after restoring the iPhone4 with 7.0.3, it asked me if I want to recover from backup. I did recover from my latest back up and now it is syncing the content.

The typical fix if the progress bar totally freezes - meaning no movement at all for more than 20 minutes - and iTunes will no recognize the device - is to try to put the iPad into recovery mode. That is explained here.
iPad: Unable to update or restore
However, don't jump the gun. Keep an eye on the progress bar and if it is moving at all - even very slowly - let it go for a while. I'm updating my iPod touch first and the progress bar is moving but very slowly.

  • My 2007 iMac (lion) starts, logo appears, status bar shows up, takes 2 mins to finish, then shuts off

My 2007 iMac (lion) starts, logo appears, status bar shows up, takes 2 mins to finish, then shuts off. Please help!

This sounds like a hard drive issue. First I would try to boot to safe mode: OS X: What is Safe Boot, Safe Mode? - Apple Support
If that works do a backup ASAP with Time Machine: Mac Basics: Time Machine backs up your Mac - Apple Support or copy your important files to an external drive if they are not already backed up. If that does not work, Boot to recovery:  OS X: About OS X Recovery - Apple Support
The next step would be verifying and if needed repairing the hard drive using Disk Utility.
Resolve startup issues and perform disk maintenance with Disk Utility and fsck - Apple Support
If it successfully repairs, do a restart and see if it boots as normal. If it cannot be repaired, it means that the hard drive has failed/is failing. If you do not have the data backed up you could try getting the data using target disk mode: OS X Mountain Lion: Transfer files between two computers using target disk mode ,booting from an external drive that has OS X installed on it: OS X: Installing OS X on an external volume - Apple Support, or 3rd party data recovery service.
After data is backed up or recovered, you would need to do an erase and install of OS X: OS X: How to erase and install - Apple Support
If it fails to erase, then the hard drive needs to be replaced.

  • System is slow when I hover over Airport logo in status bar

When I have the Airport logo in the status bar and I hover over it or go to click on it it seems to slow everything down (around that area). So the menu will take a while to load, or I won't be able to move to another icon in the status bar etc.
I wondered if anyone else had this problem or knew what I could do about it?

Do you have your airport turned on? I can only assume that when you click the icon, the system does a quick check for available networks so that the list in the menu is up-to-date.
Maybe someone else can confirm this. I would say that it is nothing to worry about however, the same quirk occurs on my Powerbook and my partner's iBook.

  • Macbook Pro does not start. Grey screen with logo and status bar going on forever.

I have a Macbook Pro, late 2010 running with OS Mavericks. Lately it became very slow but never had major issues like crashing. Lat night, I tried a hard restart because it was stuck and I cannot get it to restart ever since. I get sound and grey screen with logo. The status bar is going on forever but does not boot. Can anyone help, please?

    Try a safe boot:

Select the recovery partition and then from the 4 option menu select Disk Utility.
Open Disk Utility>First Aid and run Verify and Repair.
    What are the results?

  • IPad 2 update/firmware 6.1.3 status bar stuck

It won't let me update the iPad to the newest update.
The apple logo and status bar screen comes up, but it gets stuck around 10% everytime.
    It's already in DFU mode.
    Any help would be appreciated.

I'm saying to wait a bit longer. If it were mine, I would want it to work in every aspect and fashion. I will ocassionaly have connection issues on mine, but only occasionally. I can usually resolve them on the spot.
It sounds odd to me that it would start working with your home network all of suddent without making any changes. However, I've had similiar experiences with computers and electronic devices in general. Having trouble connecting to one particular network, other than at home, would be something that I could live with. Having trouble with many, I could not live with.
How did you restore it last time? If you used itunes then try directly on the ipad. Do the opposite of what you did before.
Be aware, this might put you back at square one again with the wifi issue at home.
But if it were me, I would restore back to factory settings again, just to satisfy my own curiousity.
    How to restore
    Via itunes
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
    via device

  • Status bar under apple logo mountain lion

When I startup my MBP I get a status bar under the apple logo. Then a spinning wheel that keeps going on for a long, long time. What is causing this?

If you repaired the drive first and still received the error, then something is wrong, most likely, on the drive. I would say you probably need to erase the drive then reinstall. I hope you have a backup.
Install or Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion from Scratch
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Erase the hard drive:
      1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
      2. After DU loads select your startup volume (usually Macintosh HD) from the
left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
      3. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Optionally, click on
the Security button and set the Zero Data option to one-pass. Click on
the Erase button and wait until the process has completed.
      4. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Install button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
because it is three times faster than wireless.

  • ITunes store shows "accessing iTunes store..." for few seconds and after that its blank with an apple logo inside the status bar.

    Hi,
I have recently installed iTunes latest version (10.5.1.42) on Win XP SP3.
The problem is, when accessing iTunes, It connects to the internet, I can sign in (It shows my username in sign in bar), But nothing is shown in the iTunes store window in iTunes. It shows "accessing iTunes store..." for few seconds and after that its blank with an apple logo inside the status bar.
    ANU SUGGESSION???

Sorry, no. The screen image you see is specifically saying you need to connect it to a computer. You could take it to an Apple retailer for help.

  • Installing Yosemite on iMac 2013 hangs with status bar midway

Trying to install Yosemite, but screen just displays a white screen with apple logo and the status bar is around 50 %
been running for about 4.5 hrs, will leave overnight, but then what if no joy.
I Thought that Apple was good over these types of things, it is a Apple iMac 27" 2012 machine with 8Gb Ram.
    thanks

If you use the power button to shut down and then restart does it boot?  menu/About This Mac - what is installed?
Do a backup, preferably 2 separate ones on 2 separate drives.
Revert to a Previous OS X - Yosemite
    Revert Yosemite to Mavericks
If you do revert, I'd use Setup Assistant to restore your data. This process takes a while, so do it when you won't need the computer for several hours, based on my experience.

If you remove console window name from your forms property, you can get rid of the status bar from the applet.
Do you have web site using forms6i applet? If yes, please let me know the site name.

  • Status bar not appearing

I want to see how much hard drive space I have remaining on my MacBook Pro, so I open Finder and press 'show status bar' and the finder window gets bigger, but the bottom, where the status bar should be, is blank. Is there something I'm missing?

if you want to find out how much storage space is used up and how much is left....
try this: click on your apple logo - about this mac - more info - then click on the storage tab.  see image.

  • Status Bar message No Network

I bought my original iphone right after it became available. I live in an area which does not have AT&T coverage. I used my business address (which is in the AT&T network) to obtain my AT&T account and activate my phone. I have been able to make calls and use all other features successfully until just recently. Now I am getting a message on the status bar that indicates there is "no network". An "E" used to appear in the status bar when I used my phone from home. Does anyone know how much usage in a non-network AT&T will allow before they request that you unsubscribe from their wireless service?? I love my iphone so I am hoping this will not happen. I did talk to an AT&T customer service rep and was advised to not worry about the "no network" message. And she thought I would be ok. She wasn't sure what the limitations were regarding other network usage. I remember when I signed up for the AT&T service reading something about being penalized for not using the phone in an AT&T coverage area. Anyone?

This is something you'd have to discuss with ATT. My understanding is they have the option of terminating all of your service if they deem you spend too much time roaming.
    Some troubleshooting you can try:
    1. Reset (hold the sleep/wake & home button until the Apple logo appears)
    2. Reset network settings in the Settings options
    3. Request a new SIM from ATT
    4. Restore in iTunes
