Ethernet to USB is not detected

I have recently bought a Ethernet to USB converter. When I connect it to my laptop it does not get connected ,It is getting detected and it is shown in PC settings>Devices. When I troubleshoot it,It shows that the drivers are not properly installed.
How to install the proper drivers? Hoping for a early reply
prudhvi

Try get the drivers from the vendors webpage. Furthermore, look if the NIC is supported by your Operating System

  • USB devices not detected in VMware [SOLVED; Using Virtualbox instead]

I am running Arch as a host and XP on VMWare workstation 7.  My primary purpose of installing XP on VMWare was to use my edit my Line6  POD (behaves as a usb sound card) and get my USB TV Tuner box to work. The big problem that I am facing is that VMWare is not detecting any USB device (not even my USB Hard Drive).
I have the usb controller installed.
    Any suggestions?

I don't know vmware but with other virtual machines there is often a configuration option whether usb drives should be automatically mounted or not. Sometimes automounting also only works if the vm has the focus, i.e. is the active window.

  • Phone USB disconnect not detected

On my one PC, PC Suite does not detect when I disconnect my E51 phone from the USB cable in PC Sync mode.
This one happens on this specific PC, so it must be a setup problem there.
I am running PC suite 6.85.14.1 on WinXP SP2 patched up to date. No problem on another box with same motherboard and software using the same phone.
If I connect in data transfer mode, I use the "safely remove hardware" function of WinXP before I disconnect and all is fine. This is not available in PC Suite mode.
If I unplug the cable from the phone in PC suite mode, PC Suite does not detect that the phone is disconnected, no matter how long I wait.
After this, the whole USB system seems to be confused. No other USB devices are detected when plugged into any other USB port. After reboot all is fine again.
I guess this is a Windows problem rather than a PC suite problem.
Any idea what is going wrong and how to correct this?

i had other similar problem with usb devices, maybe when we use more usb devices could be a conflict on system, does exist a tool that clean up all old usb connection?
    bye.

Again for the USB, we can try and install Chipset driver and check...

  • X220: external USB keyboard not detected in BIOS

    Hi!
I use an external USB keyboard attached to the port replicator of my X220. When Windows is booted the keyboard works without any problems. But I cannot use the keyboard pre-boot, e.g. to enter the HDD password after starting up, to configure the BIOS, etc.
I tried all USB ports both of the port replicator and the X220. The keyboard is still not detected by the BIOS (Version 1.20) and there are no BIOS options to enable "USB keyboard support".
Has anyone experienced similar problems? Are there any solutions to get the keyboard detected by the BIOS?

  • Airport Extreme and USB HD not detected in Vista but work in OSX

I have a hard drive and a printer connected to a USB hub that's hooked up to my Airport Extreme. USB hub is a good one, powered. Everything works like it should on the two Macs I have. Airport Utility detects everything fine, all works well. Great.
On my Vista PC, which is my main computer, being by far the most powerful, I have Airport Utility installed so that I can have access to my network hard drive. Weird thing is that it gets detected sometimes, and sometimes it doesn't. When I re-install Airport Utility, everything works for that session. After a reboot it may or may not work. Usually it stops working all together after 2 or 3 reboots.
Internet access works all the time, mind you, as well as printing to my printer that's connected to the extreme. Just no base station detected in Airport Utility and no hard drive access, because the base station isn't available.
Thing to note, my computer goes through a gigabit switch, D-Link DGS-2205 to get to the airport extreme. I have an iMac that also goes through that switch, but doesn't have these problems.
Any ideas what to do? I'm sick of re-installing Airport Utility every couple days.

Nobody had a similar problem? Re-running Airport Utility installer again and Repairing the current installation fixes it for a short period of time, but the same problem comes back after about 3 reboots. Any ideas?

  • Windows XP running on iMac, USB Printer not detected on Windows

    Hi all,
I'm pretty sure this is not a Mac issue, however I've been trying to understand this problem and I didn't find a proper solution, maybe some of you can help with that.
    The situation is:
iMac running Mac OS X 10.4.10 working fine with a Xerox Printer 8550 connected with a USB cable, however, in the same system my colleague has a Windows XP installed with BootCamp, the problem is that Windows Xp cannot detect the USB printer, have you heard anything like that before?
    Any help is welcome.
    Thanks in advance.
    Kind Regards
    Alatryste

    should be only driver problem?

  • HP USB Drive not detected

I bought a new 16GB HP USB Drive a day ago. The drive is not recognised by my mac. When I plug the drive in nothing happens.
    - other USB drives work as normal
    - I tried both USB ports (i.e. it's not a mac hardware issue)
    - the USB drive works with my PC
I don't see the USB drive in the disc utilities option. Can anyone suggest what I should do next?
    Thanks in advance

The following  worked for me like a charm but you have to try it at your own risk.
1- Using Bootcamp switch to Windows. It will detect your memory flash HP 16 GB.
2- Click on my Computer, then right click on HP 16GB icon
    3- Select Format
4- Format your Flash selecting FAT32
5- When finished reboot back to MAC and you are ready to go.
    Hope it works for all.
You don't need to boot into Windows, you can format the drive using Disk Utility in OSX

  • USB Devices Not Detected and High CPU Usage

Hello, I'm using arch on a Dell 1720 laptop.
I have some weird issues involving detection of USB devices.
When the laptop is on battery and I plug in a USB mouse the power flickers on and flickers off again; nothing in the logs/dmesg.
If I then connect the AC adapter the reconnect the mouse, the same happens, except the CPU usage hits 87%+ on one core.
    Running
    sudo rmmod ehci_hcd
solves the problem; the CPU usage drops and the mouse gets detected.
Subsequent attempts to hotplug USB devices does nothing, no high CPU and no Power.
Rebooting the computer is the only way to use USB devices at the moment.
    usb-autosuspend is disabled in laptop-mode.

The same happens with the stock kernel too
    My kernel line in grub:
    kernel /vmlinuz26-ck root=/dev/sda3 elevator=bfq ro resume=/dev/sda2
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,

My USB devices don't even get detected, so that script won't work.
Last night I hibernated my computer after not using any USB devices, on resume, my CPU usage was 100%, removing the ehci_hcd module fixed it.
    Any more ideas?

  • I-7565 USB DNET not detecting all DNET devices

    hello,
I have a USB Devicenet device called ICP DAS I-7565 DNM.
I have connected it to a machine that has 9 devices but it always only detects 6 of them, i tried it on several machines but still the same result.
i also have a NI PCI and PXI 8461 cards that detect all 9 devices.
simplewho.exe also detected all 9 devices.
what could be wrong, how can i troubleshoot the USB device?
    Please help

    Hi freemason
I wonder if the 3 devices not been detected are always the same, or if this is more lika a "maximum number of devices to detect" issue. Have you tried to remove some of the detected devices to see if another one is detected?
Maybe you can contact the manufacturer of the I-7565-DNM to confirm if all the 9 devices you are trying to detect are supported by it.

  • Dodgy 10.4.4 upgrade - USB drives not detected

Something strange happened to me last time I ran Software Update. Out of the four updates available -- iTunes 6.0.2, iPod Updater 2006-01-10, QuickTime 7.0.4 and Mac OS X 10.4.4 -- only the first two ran successfully, while the two other displayed red warning signs showing they hadn't been installed. That's strange, I thought -- never happened to me before. Anyway, after clicking OK, Software Update scanned again for updates and again listed the QuickTime update, but not the Mac OS X update. I proceeded to install QuickTime, successfully this time, and then restarted.
After restart I looked in the About this computer dialog, which told me it was running 10.4.4. I didn't reflect further on this, since things seemed okay, but since then I've noticed that the computer can't find my iPod when I plug it in, nor my USB flash drive. The iPod is recognized only if it is plugged in during a restart. Logging out and then in again doesn't work. (I haven't tried on the USB drive.)
Strangely, while the Software Update log doesn't list the 10.4.4 update, it won't appear when running Sotware Update itself. So while the log can't recall installing it, the program thinks it did?
Anyway, I'll try to manually download 10.4.4 and install it. If anyone has some other tip, I'd be grateful.

Ok, don't mind me I managed to install it 10.4.4 again (after first discovering I couldn't mount disk images, then downloading to my iBook instead and sending the .pkg to the iMac, running the install once and only getting through 60% of it, and the inexplicably succeeding on the second try). Everything now works as expected! Happy, happy, joy, joy!
