1- i hope i got you right,, u want to populate ur data warehouse without using any tools??
you can do that using database Links "its supportred by oracle", or even you can use SQL loader for oracle too, or to export and import ur data using flat files
2- for incremental approach (CDC) capture data changed, u can put an access date filed in ur source database, and when you select from the source to the destination keep in mind the creteria of that filed

Installing SSMS 2012 after SQL Server 2008 R2 Express was installed (without tools)

Hi everybody,
This is a question in another forum I am frequent. Someone installed SQL Server Express 2008 R2 and he used the wrong exe, so he installed it without tools. Now he wants to install SSMS.
It looks like SSMS 2012 wants to have SQL Server 2012 Express installed first.
Can someone please confirm if it's possible to install just SSMS 2012 after SQL Server 2008 R2 Express was already installed and if possible, guide through the installation steps?

I have tested the scenario you described. Everything works well, I successfully install SQL Server Management studio 2012 after SQL Server 2008 R2 Express (without tools) was already installed.
Please note that we don’t need to install SQL Server 2012 Express first when installing SSMS 2012. For detailed installation steps of SQL Server 2008 R2 Express and SSMS 2012, you can review below blogs.

It may be time to look at this list, maybe going straight to 6).
The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file (you may have tried/done some of them already); 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to 3 times);
3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
Even more seriously, you may:
6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

How to make an Xcode full uninstall without tools ( CD/DVD)

I have a mac mini late 2012. I dont have OSX Mountain Lion CD or DVD, because my computer has not CD/DVD disk player threfore the OSx comes preinstalled. As i woul like to become an IOS app developer, i have downloaded XCODE 4.6 from AppStore to learn to use it. As you can see i dont have any disk with this software.
After xcode was intalled i started to try to practice with some testing projects. as you can imagine, i have received a lot of error signals and warnings telling about missing objects, names, etc. I had erased those projects by hand, just deleting project folders without using the organizer to erase the projects.
After all of this actions, i have tried to start new clean projects in xcode, however, i keep receiving the same errors in new projects, and when i click over any warning simbol it shows instances of the deleted wrong project. Also if you open simulator you can see in there the old deted wrong project icon.
I have searching with no succes try to "clean" everything created through xcode in the past, however i cant found any way to do that, so i thougth to try to uninstall xcode and after this, try to install it again but clean. I ereased the application and re install it, but same errors are appearing yet. Then i investigate trough the internet about a full uninstall , and all of i have found talks about to use a tools disk to run a command to "erase" xcode complete.
I also have tried with a comman that sows me errors, this is a copied and pasted text from my terminal:

As you can see, i dont have any way to run the unisntall tool. After all of this post, i need to make 2 questions, i hope you can help, i getting crazy !!

That command you're using is outdated, sorry.
Xcode latest version is 4.6 - you 'uninstall' just like an other app now...drag it to the trash, then empty.
In Xocde/Organizer/Documentation, type in: movieplayer
...see if you can download that sample app and then see if it runs as-is for you.

Open Adobe Reader without Tools menu or Fill & Sign menu

When I open a PDF file, I often get a menu down the right side of the Adobe Reader window. Usually, it is the Tools menu; but if the PDF file is a fill-in form, I get the Fill & Sign Tools menu. Rarely do I need these menus. Is there an option to launch Adobe Reader without these menus?

We ended up finding a registry key which forces this menu to come up each time:

Cursor Position without Tool Suite?

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone knows whither or not it is possible to determine the current cursor position of the current tool without using the Tool Suite.
In other words, I want to know the position of the cursor - regardless of the currently selected tool - not that of a custom tool. I hope it is possible, but I was not able to find anything...
I greatly appreciate any tips.

It is not possible, but it's quite easy to tap into the OS & use the AIDocumentViewSuite to translate global coordinates into document coordinates. We do something like this in our product so I can tell you it works. You just need to make sure you 'hook in' to the correct window -- namely the document window you'd like to track mouse movements in.

Adobe Reader-PDF-window without tools-column

When displaying a PDF-document, can I set the display so that the tools-column at the right sight is not shown thereby making the view of the document larger? If yes, how?

I miss in the new current JDK 6 download the tools jdb.exe and javac.exe in the bin directory. Is that an incomplete download?

an incomplete download?You have downloaded a client version of java. You need a development version. You should probably go back and download again, this time making sure that you're getting the entire JDK

Which tool is better for ETL?

I want to transfer data from RLDB to Essbase, there are many method and tools, I don't know which tool is better for my case. Now, what I am doing now is:
1. Create views in Oracle
2. Export view to falt file
3. Import flat file to Essbase using rule file and MaxL import script.
4.The data size: flat file rows 3-4 million, time used: 13 hours
I want to use more powerful ETL tools, such as: Informatica PowerCenter, OBIEE, FDM, EIS, ..., I have basic knowledge for the above tools, but don't know which tool is better for my case? Please advise?

First to streamline your existing process, you could get rid of step 2 and add a odbc connection to the server and Sql statement to the load rule to pull directly from your Oracle database. Of course with the number of rows you have, if you use the same extract multiple times, I would create a table to load into from the view and pull from that table.
As for using an etl (Elt) tool, Informatica is pretty powerful and there is a version of it (although not supported in the future called DIM). I might go the ELT route with ODI(Oracle Data Integrator). In the future I might use OBIEE, but I don't think it fully ready for Essbase until the next version and I don't think it will rank on the same level as a full ETL tool for conversions.

As for EIS, I would not use it, but might use Essbase Studio. (It can use OBIEE as a source) again this is not an etl tool, it would just take youe existing views and load them.

How can I fix a dynamic zoom tool issue for users of Reader v8?

I am publishing a PDF to be posted on the internet for downloading by end-users. The PDF is designed to open in full screen view, that is, without tool or menu bars visible. This means it would be helpful for me to embed additional functionality onto each page of the PDF for users who do not know keyboard shortcuts.
In doing so, I have found that when adding the dynamic zoom tool function via Acrobat's Advance Editing > Forms > Button Tool, the dynamic zoom tool only works in some versions of Acrobat Reader and not others.
I suspect this is because the dynamic zoom tool is accessed from different locations in different versions of Reader. Therefore, the instruction that I embed in to the button tool that relies on a menu-tree command ('find the tool in this location via the menu') cannot therefore be executed.
Fortunately, it appears that there is a javascript name available for the dynamic zoom tool that I can use instead of a menu-tree command. But unfortunately, it appears that the script name is different for different versions of Adobe Reader...
Not to be outdone, we have managed to write a small piece of javascript that, when assigned to the PDF using the button tool, identifies which version of Reader the recipient is using and activates the correct script name.
So far so good.
However, it now appears that version 8 of Adobe Reader has a higher level of security built in, so that javascript is security restricted and isn't allowed to run.
This of course means that the button I've included in the PDF to bring up the dynamic zoom tool doesn't work at all for end-users using Adobe Reader v8.
Getting the users to adjust their security permissions in the preferences is problematic and less than ideal. I really want the PDF to work 'out of the box' so to speak, without the users having to perform somersaults to get every element of the PDF to function fully as designed.
And seeing as the end-users are part of a public organisation and will not necessarily have the authority to update their software from v8 to v9 themselves, I am a little stuck.
So what's my query? I've got more than one:
• Is there a more detailed script I can assign using the button tool to get the dynamic zoom tool to work as outlined above in v8?
• Can I raise the security level of the dynamic zoom tool from within the PDF (that is, so that the dynamic zoom tool activates automatically and without end-user intervention, e.g. without downloading bits of code to place in file directories)?
• If I were to assign a digital ID/certificate to the PDF, would this allow the javascript to run unhindered?

If you are going to SET an IP, a Static IP, on the computer it has to be out of the DHCP pool range but in the overall IP range the router is using to hand out. So if the router DHCP range is 192.168.1.100 to .150 you have to assign a static IP to the computer either above the 150 or below the 100.
Right I've never had a problem with ha PC. But then I have never had a problem with my Mac either.
I suspect you have some type of hardware problem or a hardware and driver problem.

How do I put my MacBook in "target disk mode" without FireWire?

I bought an aluminum MacBook (13 inch) and am shocked that there is no FireWire port. WHY? I want to hook it up to my MacPro as a targeted disk to copy over some but not all of my files. Also, I'd like to connect to some external hard drives to get some backed up files. Can I do this with USB? Is there a USB to FireWire adapter?

The hard drive is fairly easy to remove on the aluminum Macbook. I would remove it and install it in an external Firewire enclosure temporarily to transfer your files quickly and reliably, then put the drive back in the Macbook.

Computer to Computer Data Transfer Without FireWire

When I went from the original iBook to the first generation MacBook, all the data from the older computer got flawlessly transferred to the new laptop using FireWire.
How is one supposed to transfer information from an earlier MacBook to a newer model MacBook now that they are limited to having USB ports only? (I do not want the updated white MacBook that does retain FireWire, nor do I otherwise require the MacBook Pro - which also kept FireWire.)
Curious to hear how others are planning to transfer their data.

You "can" use Ethernet networking and file sharing to transfer data. Select Mac Help from the Finder's Help menu and search for 'file sharing.' If you have a home network just connect your MacBook to your home network either wirelessly or via Ethernet cable. If you don't have a home network then you can connect the two computers with an Ethernet cable or using wireless.

The most reliable and trouble free method of copying files is FireWire. I have found that FireWire will often work where USB methods fail.
The hard drive is fairly easy to remove on the aluminum Macbook. I would remove it and install it in an external Firewire enclosure temporarily to transfer your files quickly and reliably, then put the drive back in the Macbook.
Firewire is "isochronous", basically meaning that you can pump "clocked" data though it in real time. USB works more like TCPIP, with the data chopped up into packets and later reassembled. (Thus, at a minimum, you have latency, that is, the wait for the data to be "put back together".) Second, the Firewire protocol allows more direct address to memory (including mass storage) with minimal intervention of the CPU.
Putting the drive in a external Firewire enclosure is a bit more work, but nothing will interfere with it. No collisions, no glitches. Firewire is rock-solid.

Trouble finding tool bars

this probably requires a very simple answer, but i'm having a hard time locating the on screen tool bars. i just downloaded indesign and just have a blank workspace without tool bars. please help. thanks.

Well, if you just downloaded it, there's a chance that the install itself is messed up, so if nothing else works you can always uninstall and reinstall. Do a search for "Adobe clean script" before you uninstall.
But, assuming that your install of ID is not borked:
1) Just whack the tab key. (That hides most of the UI. It shouldn't start hidden, but it's the easiest thing to try.)
2) Up in the upper right hand corner of the screen, there should be a workspace selector. By default, I think you'd start with the "Essentials" workspace. Can you pull that down and choose a new workspace? Does that change anything?
3) And, of course, you can always go to Window and open a panel. Does that work?
I have no idea what's going on on your side, but I think if you try those things and report back then we should have a little bit more to work with.

The documentation of PowerCenter is pretty clear about installation procedures, so I would like to know what exactly you need to know. How to install and set up the PowerConnect for SAP R/3? Or what else?
Or have you downloaded the software but didn't download the documentation?
