EULA Sync Error - Offline WSUS Sync Server

been asked to look at a customers installation, where they are getting the EULA "not downloaded" error in the Wsyncmgr.log and this may be causing issues further up the chain.
 There are three air gapped environments with no WWW access in any - all WSUS downloads are off line and metadata cab and wsuscontent dirs are copied from off-line WSUS server to each Central site server in each of the three environments.
I am getting the EULA failures on 5 updates and it looks like this has been happening for a number of months,  on investigation using the update unique ID nos these updates have either been superceded or expired -  for instance, in the wsyncmgr
log it states
054ee1db-db4b-4bfe-9a08-10ce84627542  - Windows 7  Internet Explorer 9.  
but on checking both the SCCM updates repository, and the wsuscontent dir - that unique ID does not exist.
If I check for the update Windows 7 Internet Explorer 9 -  it has a different ID number, not 054ee1db-db4b-4bfe-9a08-10ce84627542 so I cant just remove it.
Any ideas where this "old"  ID info is being held, and how I can remove it ?

The EULA failures, in the absence of any other file access issues, are likely a result of the EULAs not being properly downloaded to the
connected server prior to performing the export. Almost universally this is caused by a network device on the perimeter blocking access to TXT files. Normally this should manifest on the
connected server as well, when approving that update (to get the download files) and the EULA is missing.
For superseded updates, this whole conversation is moot, because Configuration Manager 2007 is going to EXPIRE the superseded updates anyway, and you'll never be able to deploy them.
The UpdateID will not appear in the ~\WSUSContent folder, so that won't get you anywhere. The filename in ~\WSUSContent is derived from the 40-character hex representation of the SHA-1 hash of the file. For updates with EULAs, you can obtain the actual filename
(just as for binaries), by right clicking on the update in the WSUS console and selecting "File Information".
So, the first question to determine is this: Is the EULA TXT file physically present in the ~\WSUSContent folder o the
connected server?

  • 1 Server getting 8007000B error through WSUS (Windows Server 2008 x86)

    All servers/workstations are updating fine except for 1 server.
    A 2008 Windows Server 32 bit has 11 updates that it errors out on with 8007000B

  • ITunes sync stopped working with my iPhone 5 and Outlook on Windows 7.  Error states in part "because the sync server failed to sync the iphone"

    I have an iPhone 5 running iOS 7.1.2.  I am using iTunes version 11.2.2.3 on Windows 7.  After updating to the new version of iTunes I am currently using, the snyc between my Outlook calendar and phone stopped working.  I get the error "iTunes could not sync the calendars to the phone xxxxx because the sync server failed to sync the iphone"  I followed the instructions here - Troubleshooting Sync Services on Windows with Microsoft Outlook 2003, Outlook 2007, or Outlook 2010 - to no avail, with the exception of not re-installing Outlook.  Not an option on my corporate computer.  When I run the Sync test, it says it passes -

  • Conflict Resolver Sync Error - Unable to retrieve conflict information from the sync server

    So I have been using iTunes with my iPhone 3GS and now my iPhone 4 to sync with my Outlook for many years now  and it has been flawless.
    I recently bought a new iPad and started syncing it as well.
    Now as of late, after every 2 or 3 syncs, I get an error from iTunes displaying the Conflict Resolver and it says there are 42 sync conflicts.
    When I try use the Review Now button it shows up and the issues are between my iPhone and Outlook and are only related to contacts.
    As soon as I try to choose which record to resolve, the window immediately disappears without giving me a chance to finish and I get another dialog window with the error:
    Unable to retrieve conflict information from the sync server.
    Please try again the next time the conflict resolver window is presented.
    When I try to sync again it seems to be fine.  But then after I sync my iPad and theny iPhone again it shows up and it still won't let me resolve the conflicts.
    I have tried the following:
    1) Rest Sync History on all devices
    2) I have had iTunes replace all the contacts on the iPad from iTunes
    3) I have changed the conflict resolver to only notify when 50% of the data will be changed
    I have had no such luck.
    If I add a contact to Outlook or to my iPhone and then sync it seems to be syncing the new addtions correctly.  However, I cannot get this issue with this 42 conflicts resolved for some reason.  This has been going on for a month now.

    Here is the solution. 
    Rationale: You want to be able to have the dates on your items (notes, contacts) on your iphone to be the same as on outlook.  This will eliminate any sync conflicts.  You will also notice that if you modify something on the iphone and sync, you will lose the modification you made.
    Steps:
    1) In outlook, export the data (contacts, notes) to a CSV file
    2) Delete you notes/contacts in outlook
    3) Sync your iphone and select replace information on this iPhone (in iTunes)
    4) Now your contacts and notes will be empty on both your iPhone and Outlook
    5) Now import your contacts and notes from the CSV files back into outlook.  What this does is put the current date and time on every individual item
    6) Sync your iPhone to iTunes normally
    7) everything will work correctly now with no sync issues and no conflicts.

    You may think you are connected to the internet, but maybe not. Click on Safari and see if it connects.

    Additional things to try.
    Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

    Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

    Suggest posting to the .Mac forum. Alternatively, turn off synching.

  • ISync "Can't connect to sync server" error

    Hi all,
    I had been using iSync with my Nokia N73 for a few months with no problems but now when I try to open iSync I get the following error message -
    "SyncServices: Can't connect to the sync server: NSInvalidReceivePortException: connection went invalid while waiting for a reply ((null))"
    I can't even get into the iSync menu to reset sync history or make any settings changes. I have tried reloading the program using Pacifist but get the same error. I am using iSync version 3.0 and Leopard 10.5.2.
    The phone connects fine as a storage device and to transfer photos so the problem is not with the phone. Can anyone help?

    What worked for me was, when you click on iSync from the Finder menu, go ahead and actually right click it instead of opening it. A menu opens and select duplicate iSync. It does just that. I then launched the iSync copy and it worked.

  • Sync Server error

    I have iSync automatically open on login and usually after a restart, I get this message from iSync:
    *iSync can't be launched*
    SyncServices: Can't connect to the sync server. NSPortTimeoutException: connection timeout: did not receive reply ((null))
    The only button available is "QUIT"
    However, after I quit iSync and reopen it, it works.
    The problem with this though is that is messes up the automatic startup of SyncTogether which depends on the sync server to be up and running. Can someone help me solve this problem?

    I should have added more details. The reason I'm running iSync automatically is this:
    1. SyncTogether was having errors on start up and it quit. It said iSync wasn't running or something like that.
    2. In order to figure out what was wrong, I had iSync automatically login.
    3. When that happened, iSync came up with the error message I first posted.
    4. I realised then that what was going on was the SyncServices was not starting up properly or fast enough and so SyncTogether was having errors on starting. Note that SyncTogether on my other computer (a MacBook Air) has no problems whatsoever. It's on the MacBook Pro that and SyncServices is having slow issues.
    So, solutions?

  • How can I upload my offline bookmarks to sync server for syncing them?

    Firefox is the only browser I use and I have tons of bookmarks. I use Firefox Sync to sync my bookmarks primarily over 4 devices (2 Desktop PC, 1 Notebook and 1 Tablet). With the previous Sync model of Firefox I had to request for a quota increase mentioning that I will be needing only the Bookmarks to be synced, nothing else. My quota was increased, Firefox introduced the new Sync model, it was really great and easier, everything was fine.
    Recently I've lost a huge number of bookmarks from Sync. Only one desktop PC still has all the bookmarks, but on the other 3 devices a certain number of bookmarks is absent at the end of the alphabetically sorted list. I uninstalled Firefox and deleted everything Firefox-related from one of these 3 devices, performed a fresh new installation and synced again. But no result, those bookmarks are still missing. I've added new bookmarks from the PC that still has all the bookmarks and they were synced properly over the other 3 devices. I think somehow those specific bookmarks (which are missing on the other 3 devices) got disconnected/unlinked from the Firefox Sync Server.
    Now, since I have the missing bookmarks on one PC, is there any way to upload these unlinked bookmarks to Firefox Sync Server so they can be re-linked and synced over the other devices? If yes, how can I do that? If no, what else are my options to get my bookmarks back & synced?

    You cannot add anything to Sync that is outside of Firefox. The service will only connect thru a Firefox installation.
    As far as trying to solve that problem with the "lost" bookmarks on 3 devices ...
    1. Disconnect all 4 devices from Sync.
    2. Then on the PC that still has all your bookmarks, install this extension - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/places-maintenance/ - to rebuild the Places database on that device. ''I suspect that is where your problem started.''
    3. When the "maintenance" is done, reconnect that device to Sync and let it run for like maybe 24 hours to re-populate the Sync server with "fixed" data.
    4. Then you can start reconnecting the other 3 devices to Sync one at a time ''(do the Tablet last)'', allowing some time for each device to "digest" whatever changes are made when re-connecting to Sync.
    ''Don't rush Sync at any stage - depending upon how many bookmarks and how much history you have - maybe add one device per day and leave Firefox running for a long time not doing anything else. From what I have observed with Sync when fixing something like this it works in "spurts" of data transfers especially when the Sync servers are very busy.''
