Euro symbol is driving me crazy!!

My architecture is:
- Oracle 8i 8.1.7 DBMS under Linux on server "db"
- Oracle 9i application server under Linux on server "web"
I've got a jsp page which calls a java class to query the db, get the result as xml string and transform it into HTML by XSL.
The problem is that I can't display the Euro symbol: I see an "upside-down" question mark.
I think the problem is not the DBMS, because from my Windows client I can insert the Euro Symbol (I use sqlplus worksheet) and I see it correctly. But anyway the problem is only when I get data from the DB: if I insert the Euro Symbol into the XSL, it is displayed correctly.
Please help me, I'm going mad...

You can use these steps to disable the snippets on the about:home page:
* Set the browser.aboutHomeSnippets.updateUrl pref to an empty string on the about:config page
* Open about:home page in a tab
* Open Web Console in this tab (Firefox menu button or Tools > Developer)
* Run this command via the command prompt: gSnippetsMap.clear()
* Close the tab with the about:home page
* Close and restart Firefox

Exclamation marks driving me crazy? 9-1-1

I just purchased a refurbed 4gb Nano. All my music is either saved to "Desktop" or "MyMusic" and then individually transfer each album folder to itunes.
Now I seem to get a lot of "exclamation" marks beside many songs??
Anybody know why this is happening and how to correct this nuissance? It really is driving me crazy.
On a side note Itunes was installed to default locations/settings. Thus in the preferences MyMusic/itunes/itunesmusic
Where do all the files need to be stored?

I can't give you a definitive answer but I had a problem relating to exclamation marks, where songs that were in my library had been either accidentally moved or deleted showed the symbol.
From my experience, you should decide where you want your music files to be and stick to it. It may be that your computer is getting confused because you have two lots of files and that at one time, the library remembered you having songs that were in one location but have now been transferred to another.
Make sure that in preferences, you have the Advanced/General tab settings ticked for Keep iTunes Music folder organised and for Copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to library.
Import songs using iTunes directly (which is what it sounds like you've been doing) by dragging folders into it. Keep tabs on what folders you have and have not imported. You can check the folders in the iTunes Music folder to see if they are appearing properly but don't move them.
I actually lost music because I had multiple sources which got the programme all confused when I tried to move my music location. If you want to change the location of your files, USE THE HELP! I learned to my cost that I did it the wrong way!

If it's a Windows error, it's typically going to be a Microsoft problem. Uninstall any security software you have and if you have a restore point for your PC, you may want to restore your PC back to when iTunes was working normally. If none of those work you would need to contact Microsoft and demand help.

Not getting Euro Symbol in PDF Report using XML Publisher

We have developed an Oracle Report from Report Builder 6i and also a Template in RTF Format.
We are using XML Publisher to display our XML Output in PDF Format to Users..
There is a Field called Comments on Customer Transaction Form, where user can enter any characters and that we are querying in Report and displaying on the PDF Output.
Currently, the user entered a Euro Character on the comments section and that was not visible to user on PDF Report and replaced by a Question Mark as below:
"3% price reduction ?89.91, 20% marine"
When i am Querying to the Database, i am able to see the Euro Symbol, but when i checked the XML generated on the Unix Box for the Report. I found as below:
"3% price reduction \342\202\25489.91, 20% marine"
So, the Euro Symbol on the database is replaced by " \342\202\254" in the XML Output and ? in the PDF Outbut.
Please help ASAP.

How do I stop iTunes from automatically sorting by Album Artist? Driving me crazy.
I listen to primarily classical music
All of my music was very deliberatley titled by composers "Last Name, First Name" as the artist.
iTunes is changing it to the Album Artist. I have to go in and delete that information - AND THEN IT LATER REVERTS IT BACK!!!
Hours have been wasted and I am feeling so ticked.
Any help?

If these are ripped mp3s then another possibility is multiple embedded tags. iTunes works best with a single ID3v2.3 tag. Some software creates both an ID3v1.0 and IDv2.x tag. With multiple tags it is not certain which iTunes reads or which it updates, and any device may choose differently. Once songs have the correct info. in iTunes you can use Convert ID3 Tags... None several times, then Convert ID3 Tags... v2.3. The process removes any embedded art but otherwise preserves the data that iTunes knows. You could use my script CreateFolderArt before and after to save and then restore the artwork.
In the long run you may be better off populating Album Artist properly with a copy of whatever is currently in Artist. My script CopyArtistToAlbumArtist can do this effectively.

I'm trying to display in a HTML page a Euro value using an Italian Locale. The output is always a question mark followed by the correct Euro value (i.e. ? 513,45).
My client browser is IExplorer 5.5 sp2. JSP server is TOMCAT latest release. Web services are under IIS (NT 4.0)
I'm using the following code in a JSP page.

HI Mario,
definately your encoding. Just about every European encoding nowadays has two versions - the old one, and the new updated one that carries one extra character - the Euro symbol.
Unfortunately, I can't tell you off the top of my head what the name of the right encoding to use would be, but the JDK documentation points to a list of all defined encodings, which should contain the one you're after.

I've added to ios6 to my new ipod touch with no problems. I'm trying to now restore the factory settings but the screen is frozen with an itunes sign and lead pointing towards it. The ipod won't even switch off. Can anyone help as it's driving me crazy

I've been trying all day. Now the ipod has a itunes sign and a computer lead pointing towards it on the screen and this is frozen. It won't switch off or do anything else. Any ideas as this is now driving me crazy.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

How do I get the euro symbol € to display in Flash from
PHP file created in DW ?. It does not display it properly. I have
simplified the PHP code I have is:

I haven't found the Euro symbol in the special characters. Perhaps I need to choose a different font or perhaps I just missed it.

In the special characters palette, you simply type euro in the search panel, and then select it. Click Add to Favorites.
Keyboard Euro
U.S. - shift+option together, then 2.
British - option+2
French - option + $
German - option + e
