European 220v charging for iPod

We are heading overseas and our charger says it has input of 110-240V. When we try to charge using 220V overseas, will we need a transformer and an adaptor to step it down to 110V, or will we just need the adaptor?

All you will need is a plug adapter, not an electrical current converter.
All over Europe, I've plugged my ipod, cellphone, and medical equipment straight into the adapter and then into the wall with no problems.
Check any power cord, and it should give you the current ratings on it somewhere (11-v-240v).
This also worked for me in China.
Happy travels.

Newer USB charger output is 5.1 volts. Older FireWire chargers would be 12 volts or higher.

  • Need input on Kensington Digital FM Transmitter/Auto Charger for iPod

Hey everyone, i am thinking about picking up a Kensington Digital FM Transmitter/Auto Charger for iPod. I have a 30 gb ipod video. I just wanted to see what everyone thought of this and how well it works. thanks in advance... oh and btw the car i will be using it in is a 2005 Toyota Corolla Sport

I am wondering the same thing. I have a 20GB ipod with color (one generation behind the ipod with video) and am looking for an FM transmitter that is better than the Griffin itrip, which sounds like it is a bad product.

  • Portable power charger for ipod touch/classic

    I found this online; http://www.sourcingmap.com/black-travel-charger-pack-for-apple-iphone-ipod-p-405 93.html
    & again on another website; http://www.uxsight.com/product/36886/black-travel-charger-pack-for-apple-iphone- ipod.html
what does anyone think to these? I am looking for a charger that is compact, as most AC power adapters are squarish shaped & too bulky to carry in a little kit.
has anyone used one of these? are they reusable? or are they meant for a one time emergency charge? where do they get their power from to charge the ipod? are they worth the $17.00 odd dollars? would they work for my ipod touch 2and gen 8 gb, & my 160gb 6th gen ipod classic?

They come with a cable that connects to a charger, this device is in essence a spare battery. You have to charge it from the wall.
I prefer this one as a wall charger:

Yes if the charger has a USB port.

  • Multiport charger for Ipod touch

We have an application were we are using many Ipod Touch. For the most about 30. I am locking for a solution were I can charge many IPods in parallell. One charger for say 5 ipods or more. I have tried to use an USB hub connected to a Mac but it doesnt always work so well. I often get the error message that this device isnt supported.
So can anyone give me a suggestion of what to use.
    Regards
    Per Liljeqvist

They will both work with iPod Touch. If you want to use it with an iPad also, then you must get the 2.1 amp.

  • USB wall charging for ipod

Apple wall charger is too much costly so if u have an existing USB wall charger for ur camera or ur phone, use it to charge ur ipod.
Make sure that the output ampere rating is min 1A.
But if u have to buy one buy other makes like Phillips only for $7.
I am using my Kodak camera charger with the OEM usb dock connector......no problrm at all.
    Save & donate for charity.

    - While charging try resetting the iPod:
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Next try restoring the iPod via iTunes.  First from backup and if still problem restore to factory defaults/new iPod.
    - However, I really think that the iPod has a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.  If defective Apple should give you a refurbished iPod.

  • Mains charger for ipod touch

I have a mains charger for my ipod nano 6th generation, can i use it with my new ipod touch 32GB and my husband's 64GB?
I know that they are all ipods, but is the charger unit the same?
    Thanks for your help!

Yes the charger of the 6G Nano will be fine. Only the chargers for very early Ipod might not work since they uses FireWire.

  • Ipad 2 charger for ipod classic

I just bought the iPad 2 yesterday, and I'm wondering if the charger that comes along with it can be used for my old 160G iPod Classic.
Thanks in advance for your reply.

    Hi Chris,
I just did an experiment that's baffling me and I wonder if you or anyone else can explain it. Charging an iPod Classic 80 with the following result:
USB to MacBook Pro: charges fine
USB to small iPhone wall adapter: charges fine
USB to 10W iPad wall adapter: does not charge
I've gone back and forth and gotten the above results predictably, also used two different 10W adapters, same story.
    Any idea why?

  • Auto charger for iPod Nano (3G)

Can anyone recommend an auto charger for Nano (3G)?

This has become a moot point for me. I read somewhere that the Nano will play music for 24hrs. on a charge. I am using this in my car for listening to audiobooks. I ran a test last night running it for 14 hrs. with plenty of charge left. So I guess I do not need an auto charger after all.

  • Can I still purchase a charger for ipod shuffle 2nd generation

I lost my charging port for my ipod shuffle 2nd generation. Can I purchase a replacement?

That's the USB cable with a "mini-dock" at the iPod end?  If so, I don't see it listed at the Apple Store, but it looks like this
    http://www.amazon.com/Apple-shuffle-Generation-Discontinued-Manufacturer/dp/B000 IK5Z8E
There are third-party replacements that cost less.  Some have the little dock and others have just the connector, for example
    http://www.amazon.com/eForCity-Cradle-Insten-Charger-shuffle/dp/B0062GM216
    http://www.amazon.com/Fosmon-Charger-Adapter-Shuffle-Generation/dp/B00DP7JEIE
NOTE:  The USB docking cable for the current 4th gen shuffle has a different connector that does not work with the 2nd gen shuffle.  So make sure the product you get is described as being for the 2nd gen shuffle.

  • 240 volt charger for ipod

    Hello,
I have a 240 volt charger with a usb port on it that I use for my phone. It outputs 5.2 volts at 400ma.
Will this be okay to use for my ipod? A standard usb prt outputs 5 volts but I dont think the .2 volts more will matter? Or will it??

Plug it into the AC charger and Reset the iPod whileplugged in.
