European iTunes Card with a U.S. account

I'm from the U.S. but I travel a lot & have friends overseas. I just got as a gift an iTunes card worth 25€ (euros) but my account is tied to my U.S. credit card and, of course, I therefore pay for all my stuff in U.S. dollars. Will the 25€ be somehow converted to its value in USD or will it somehow mean I pay European prices for purchases? What are the caveats here?
If needed, I can sell this gift card here & use the money to buy a U.S. card.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Sorry, but an iTunes card cannot be used outside of its country of sale, so a European iTunes card cannot be used with a US iTunes Store account. You'll need to sell the card and buy a US iTunes Card.
Regards.
Great, thanks. I was too scared to punch in the code to redeem the card on my account, for fear it might somehow convert my account to European or something.

    You cannot.
    Itunes cards are country specific.
You cannot use a Canadian gift card with a U.S. account.

What happens when you try to buy something, does the 'buy' button not appear, does it not work, do you get any error messages, ... ?
If you are getting a message to contact iTunes support then you can do so via this page and ask them why the message is appearing : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

  • Why did my itunes card get deleted from my account when i changed my password

why was my itunes card deleted from my itunes and app store when i only changed my password

An account's balance should not have been affected by changing your password. You've tried logging out and back into your account on your phone and/or computer's iTunes and seeing if it then shows, and checked your account's purchase history e.g. you didn't have any auto-renewing subscriptions or pre-orders due that might have taken the money : See your purchase history in the iTunes Store ?
If logging out/in doesn't get it to show and you can't see any purchases that might have taken it then try contacting iTunes Support and see if they can help with where it went : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page,

  • Use of iTunes card with shared Apple ID

My son has an iTunes card that he redeemed on his iPod Touch. When he makes purchases, the shared Apple ID we have setup for iTunes comes up and prompts him to enter a password (which only I know). Is there a way for him to use the credits he has without me entering the shared password? I setup my kids with the shared Apple ID so we can benefit from sharing music and apps that we've purchased. Thanks

No. A password is required to help prevent unauthorized purchases from the account. Think that if someone got hold of the iPod they could make purchases only limited by the amount of money in the account.

  • I have Old ID's that I want to delete, also I changed my ID and redeemed an ITune card with my old ID, I can't use my new ID to buy coins from the 8 Ball app

I installed the 8 Ball app using my old ID I also redeemed a 25$ ITunes card, I want to buy more coins but can't using my new ID, also the password for my previous ID keeps me from updating the apps I have, there's Justine more thing, I have been asked to put a password for an ID I don't recognize

You can't delete iTunrd accounts, all you can do is remove personal info from them and stop using them - any content that you downloaded with an account will remain tied to it.
As apps are tied to the account, you can only make in-app purchases using the account that you bought the app with - so you will only be able to make in-app purchases using the old account.
For the app update, if you don't recognise the account id is showing for the app, then did somebody else download that app onto your iPad ? Only the account that bought/downloaded an app can download updates to its apps.

  • How to handle iTunes Match with multiple libraries (one account, 5 family members)?

How would this work, in the situation below ...
Everyone has their own iCloud account (for their own syncing purposes).
But we (family) ALL share the same iTunes account (for purchasing).
How will this work, since we all have our own iTunes libraries?

One person sets up Match on their computer using the iTunes account.  Uploads everything to match.
I would recommend waiting until that person is done, and do computers one at a time.  No particular reason, just seems sensible.
Next person sets up match using same iTunes account details.  Uploads their stuff.  They will then see everything the previous user put into the system, unless you select "Hide music not on this computer" in the view menu.  Previous user will now see their stuff too.
    Rinse and repeat.
This is how it worked with my multiple machines anyway...  As long as every computer uses the same iTunes account for the store, you all get access to the same Match account.

  • HT201209 I have an itunes card with a balance on it.  How do I purchase additional music (the steps) on this card and not a credit card.

I received a itunes gift card for $15.  I purchased a CD for 9.99 and have a balance left.  I now want to purchase a song for $1.29 but itunes is taking me to my credit card and not my gift card balance.  What are the steps for this to come from the gift card balance and not credit card. How do I redeem?

Just to confirm, you are logged into the iTunes Store using the account in which the balance exists, and the balance is showing at the top of the iTunes Store window? And you're not trying to purchase gifts for someone else?

  • ITunes installs with an authorized audible account

My problem is, I'd like to use Home Sharing but keep getting the 5506 error when logging into my AppleID, which as per other threads requires you de-authorize itunes and login with your account. I haven't authorized iTunes to use any audible accounts, its a clean install on a freshly installed Windows machine running Windows 7, but under the Advanced tab it says de-authorize audible account. How do I de-authorize if it was never authorized in the first place?

    many thanks.
    That should be possible.
From his library connect to your library via Home Sharing.
Select the name of the shared library in the source pane of your itunes, and click on the wee disclosure triangle to the left of the name of the library. Does "Films" appear beneath the name of the library?
    Here's a screenshot of what I mean.
Select "Films". In the right-hand pane you should see the item you want to transfer. Just select that item, and click "Import".
Use the same basic technique to get one or a few songs from your library transferred to his library. (The only difference is that you would have "Music" selected instead of "Films".
If you don't want him to have access to other items in your library, you could just switch Home Sharing off on his library after you've done the transfers.

  • Redeemed itunes card not being credited to account

Redeemed a card over 14 hours ago using iPhone but the credit does not appear in the account.

Try signing out of your iTunes Store account and back in. That may force a refresh of the display and get your credit to appear. If not, go here:
    http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/
and follow the instructions to report the issue to the iTunes Store.
    Regards.
