Evaluation Path and Plan version

Hi Experts,
Can anyone please help me understand the concept of Evaluation Path and how the Evaluation path and the plan version settings are used in real time scenarios.
Thanks,
Sindhu.

Hi,
See, a reporting structure, staff assignment, organization structure are all evaluations paths themselves. The relationship between objects is defined.
A lot of standard evaluation paths exist. But in case you dont have the path which meets your requirement you create a new one.
Suppose you want to find out which all Tasks are linked to a job which is linked to a position which reports to an Org Unit
so your evaluation path will traverse Org unit then position then the job then the tasks assigned.
A relationship between an object is also a evalution path
hope this helps
Ajay

  • Actual and Plan Versions annual view - Multiple versions per company code

    Good Day,
Iu2019m creating an FI-CO query with an annual view of both Actuals and Plan Values, which uses period and version as input values. The dilemma is around the plan versions which are hardcoded per company codes (eg. 1 Company Code = versions 501 u2013 512)
Can anyone suggest a possible solutions as normally there is only one version used for planning but in this instance there are multiple versions per Company Code.
Currently the report is hardcoded for one Company Code and going forward it should cater for more than one(Company Company* 12 Version)
    Kind Regards

Remove restriction on comp code. There could be 2 models.
    1. Include comp code, value type and version in the rows. This way you get multiple records for a comp code. One record for actual data and one record each for plan versions. To have this model at the query, the data model in the cube also should be in this way (what we call as the account model), multiple records differentiated into actual/plan by valuetype and different versions by version.
    2. Include comp code in rows. Create selections, one for actuals (restrict with key fig and value type 10, actuals), one for each plan versions (restrict key fig with value type 20, version 501. Create one selection for each version this way). This way we have one record per comp code with diff key fig for actual and plan versions. We call this as key fig model. To have this model at the query, the data model in the cube could be account model or key fig model. If it is key fig model then no need of selections. The key fig could be taken directly from the cube.

  • Actual and Plan Versions

    Hi,
I was wondering if someone could give me a general overview of actual and plan versions.
    Points will be awarded generously.
    Thanks,
    Deki

    Versions are nothing but scenarios.
There can be only one Actual, so only one version is available for Actual i.e 0
But the comapny can have different plans on the basis of various business scenarios for example, if they acheive 80% capacity utilisation or achieve break even etc for flexible reporting. This will help easy comparison at the period end.
Hope you are now clear about the versions.
    Thanks
    Siva

  • General structure & Plan version in OM

    Hi everyone,
i am trying to configure OM for 1 general businss case.
now i got a link in the easy access menu named as General structure and Plan version.
Please let m eknow whats the role of these 2 in OM.
    Thanks in advance,
    Praveen

    Hi Praveen,
In OM, you can create all objects and their relationship to create Org Hierarchy.
There are various method available to create all obejcts in OM like Organization and staffing method, General structure through which you can create and their relationship. You can create also evaluation path thorugh general structure. Evaluation path is nothing but chain of relationship between objects.
Plan version:- Plan versions allow you to create several organizational plans in the system at the same time. You can simulate and compare various scenarios using plan versions. A plan version also enables you to carry out various simulations and compare plans in the system in parallel. As a rule, only one plan version depicts your enterprise's current organizational plan
Path:- IMG  Personnel Management  Global Settings in Personnel Management  Plan Version Maintenance  Maintain Plan Versions (Tcode-OOPV). You can set active plan version by using switch PLOGI PLOGI by giving 01(OOAP) under this 01-active paln version, you can create all objects and relationship.

  • Evaluation path in Organizational Management

    Hi everyone ,
Can anyone explain me what is the Evaluation path in Organizational Management?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi.
Evaluation paths represents a chain of relationships between object types.
By specifying the several objects and relationships the evaluation path will analyse your organization structure and retrieve the several objects included on it.
You can maintain evaluation paths on img -> Personnel Management ->Organisation Management-> Basic Settings-> Maintain Evaluation Paths
Using SAP documentation to be more precise:
An evaluation path is an instruction to the system which determines which object types and relationship(s) are to be included in an evaluation of your organizational plan.
One or more relationships are then used as "Navigation paths" for evaluating structural information in your organizational plan (relating to the organizational or reporting structures) or matrix organization. The sequence of the relationships included in the evaluation path is decisive in how the results of the evaluation are displayed.
    Example
Evaluation path "Staff assignments along organizational structure" (SBESX):
No.  Object type A/B  Relationship  Priority  Type rel. object  Skip
    010 O B 003         *             S
    020 S A 008         *             P
    030 O B 002         *             O
For more information on priorities, see also: Priority
First of all in this evaluation path, the positions assigned (S) to an organizational unit (O) are determined, then, the holder (P) assigned to each position is determined. As well as this, the next organizational unit down in the organizational structure is determined, the above procedure then takes place for this organizational unit. This procedure is repeated for all further subordinate organizational units.
In the "Skip" field, you specify that a particular relationship is to be included in the evaluation path, but that the last object type in this relationship is not to be displayed.
So, if the skip field were selected in the first line of the above example, this would mean that the organizational units and persons would be displayed, but not the positions that the persons occupy.
    Activities
    1. Check the evaluation paths in the SAP standard system.
    2. Create your own evaluation paths. These must be alphanumeric and have a- maximum of eight digits. They must begin with the letter "Z".
    Further notes
Each relationship is defined by its short name ("A002", for example) and the evaluation text as an evaluation path and can not, therefore, be changed. You can change the evaluation text but not the short name of other evaluation paths.
Create new evaluation paths, if you have defined new objects and want to carry out evaluations for them in conjunction with object types that already exist. You also need new evaluation paths if you are modifying existing evaluation paths, by selecting a "Skip" field, for example. Copy the evaluation path into the customer name space (beginning with "Y" or "Z") and enter an evaluation path.

    Pedro

  • Evaluation Path Results change after ECC6 Upgrade

    Hi All,
We have upgraded to ECC6 up to and including our QA environment. We are running an old java version of the MSS team viewer. We have a custom evaluation path, a modified version of SAP_MANG (Z_MANG) that we have been using for years. After upgrade any view that involves an organization is showing duplicates...
    Example of output
    Organization 1
    Person 1
    Person 2
    Organization 1
    Person 1
    Person 2
Our Z_MANG Evaluation Path looks like this...
No     Obj. Typ.     A/B     Relat     Relat Name      Priority     Relat Obj Typ     Skip
    10      *                 B         008       Holder              *               S                        X
    20      S                A         012       Manages...      *               O
    21      S                A         Z01      Salary Budg     *               *
    22      S                A         Z02      HR Manages    *               *
    30      US             A          208      Is Identical to    *               *                         X
Only when we skip No 21 Salary Budg is the problem resolved. Has anyone run into problems after upgrade to ECC60 that the results for an exting evaluation path have changed like this?
    Thanks,
    Doug

not all relationships represent physical data records in the database.  some are derived and without looking at the system, I believe the US 208 to P is a derived relationship.
Are you sure all the users you are testing with have a proper sy-uname setup for all respective pernrs in PA0105?

  • Planning version

there are one new cost center has been added into a existing cost center group and when we are trying to pull one report s_alr_87013620 and putting a planning version 0 and planning version BI , output of report in 0 version is showing all the cost center where as version BI is not showing the new cost center in the report.I have checked it in kSB1 report for new cost center there is no any line item present. 1)what can be the reason that two version is not showing the new cost center and
    2) what is the logic,   3)how it can displayed.

    Hi,
you could check, whether the indicator 'print zero rows' is deactivated in the report layout.
Execute the report, go to Menu: Settings/Report Layout/Rows
You can only use this indicator for those rows where the zero values result from the read data.  If you want to print all report rows, irrespective of whether posted data exists, you should set the Form printout indicator.
If you use a section layout, then check the settings for 'print zero rows' in that too.

  • HR - Evaluation Path Issue

    Hi ,
There is a custom FM which is using  std FM   RH_STRUC_GET_MULTIPLE_ROOTS' to get back hierarchy of organisation .
A custom evaluation path has been created and is being used - ZX.
Now RH_STRUC_GET_MULTIPLE_ROOTS' is returning incorrect results. I need to check whether the evaluation path is defined properly. looks like there is an error in definition which might be causing this problem.
I have no idea how evaluation path works. Could you please let me know the tcode where i could check on the custom evaluation path and rectify the error?
    Thanks in advance

    thanks for the reply.
I can see the evaluation path in table t778a. In tcode ppss i do not know what the object id and object type for the evaluation path are?
Any idea if there is any other way to check details?

  • Plan Version - FI/CO

    Hi,
I am relatively new to FI/CO. I have some queries with regards to version.
    1) What is the significance of version? Are version and Plan version synonymous
    2) With respect to plan cost there is something called plan version.Does actual cost have something similar? Does budget have something similar?
    3) If the answer to Q.2 is 'NO', then does make sense to use 'plan version' to actual costs/budget. Does SAP provide this logic.
Could someone provide me some link/documentation regarding the above mentioned issues.Mail them to [email protected]
    Regards,
    Roshith

Actual version is zero. The plan version is mapped to
actual in config. there is only one actual version. You can have many plan versions. This allows companies to be flexible to change the plans as needed. Your reports can then be set up to run against the plan version you designate. Version 1 maybe set up a the start of the year. Version 2 could be set up later based on new information. Here's some documentation on version in the IMG for FI.
    POINTS ASSIGNED are appreciated
The same concept holds true in CO but the plans are entered independently.
    Define Plan Versions
You can define plan versions in this activity. You have the option of posting planning data from each fiscal year to an unlimited number of versions.
    Example
You can define several versions of your annual budget plan and base each version on different conditions. You can also create several versions for your financial reports, whereby each report is based on different sales revenue.
    Activities
    1. To create a new plan version, choose New entries. You can also change an existing plan version.
    2. Enter 0 in the column Ld (Ledger). This is the general ledger, and is the only ledger in G/L Accounting where planning can be undertaken.
    3. Enter the key for your new version in the Ver column.
    4. Specify how the planning data is to be posted:
    a) If you want to plan data manually for the specified combination of ledger and version, select Man. plan.
    b) If you want to transfer the data from the Overhead Cost Controlling (CO-OM) or Profitability Analysis (CO-PA) component for the specified combination of ledger and version, select Plan Integ.
    5. Enter a name for the plan version.
    6. Save your plan version.

  • RH_COST_CENTER_RESPONSIBLE Evaluation Path

    Hi,
I am working on an organizational structure change and want to ensure that changes are reflected correctly in various workflows. I found that the central function module for determining approvers is
    RH_COST_CENTER_RESPONSIBLE
. The problem is that SAP has hardcoded the evaluation path and also left no options to enhance the evaluation path CC_RESP. Can it be correct that the only option to adjust the evaluation path is through modifying the standard function module!?
Anyone who has an explanation why SAP has developed the code like that? Perhaps there is a deeper meaning in always using evaluation path CC_RESP?
    Thanks!

    Hi...
you can creat the evalution path in IMG -> PM -> PA  -> OM -> Basing setting -> evalution paths..
    1. select the evaluation path and make the relationship between the objects..
    2. test this in easy access under geneeral structures..
but if u want to assing that evaluation path to spcefic user, then  u need to user structureal authorisation..
which is different from general authorisation management..

I have tried creating a custom evaluation path and I can get it to work down to the ORG, but not to the employee.
Also, I have created an ABAP program and routine to tie to a custom relationship, but when I attempt assign the new program, the program name disappears after clicking on new entry (T77EV-PROGR).

    Hello Brad,
Thank you for your response. Here is the requested information.
    1) Is it a customer ITC app in the portal?
    a) This is SAPs iTime Clock for punch edits
    2) Are you using structural auth's ? also have you checked to make sure the time admin user has the right auth's to see people?
    a) We do use Structural auth and I have already opened that orgranization up to my test Time Admin
    3) Post the eval path you have so far.

  • Unable to create planning version

    Hi All,
I am trying to create model and planning version in SCM5.0. I am getting the following error message.
"General error in model/planning version management"
Please advise how to proceed further.
    thanks in advance
    Pawan.

    Hi Pawan,
I guess you could create a model, but no planning version?
If so: create the planning version with the transaction /SAPAPO/VERCREATE and not with /SAPAPO/MVM (after having created a model). I don't know the reason, but I also could only create a planning version with the VERCREATE transaction.
    Hope this helps
    Guido
