EvDRE cell key

I'm using CellKey range in EvDRE to overwrite the data range and produce cell specific data.
However the cellKey range is having no effect. e.g.whilst the CV is set for ACTUAL I want specific cells in the data to be BUDGET
Any one got a good reference for this. Am I barking up the wrong tree ?

As you will guess I'm new to this product I can take your point on the performance hit. However I'd still like to see the function working.
I've made a copy of what i'm trying to do with this - but i cant see where to attach in this forum.
With respect to using multiple EvDREs foir an input schedule
1. I'm assuming this requires hardcoding the PageKeyRange in the report to prevent the CV overwriting
2. For an input schedule I'd use one EvDRE as my reference, say Actuals, with a second "Send EvDRE" alonside for the update of BUDGET.
Would this be the best approach?

I was wondering why when you have an EVDRE template open on on server and change the server

EVDRE - Multiple Key Ranges - Formatting

I am building a report that uses Multiple Key Ranges, both column and row, as shown below.
ColKeyRange
Sheet1!$N$101:$AA$104,Sheet1!$N$164:$AA$167,Sheet1!$N$213:$AA$216
RowKeyRange
Sheet1!$I$110:$I$160,Sheet1!$I$173:$I$209,Sheet1!$I$222:$I$261
My formatting range has a line with HEADING="GREYBG" in the Criteria column.
However, when I use keywords in my COL Heading area, only the column heading on the first key range is used. For example, if I use a keyword GREYBG in cell N168, it wonu2019t apply to my second data range. The second data range is formatted only from what is in the first column header.
Is this the normal behavior? Is there any way to make the second data range use the formatting from the second column header?

I have tried doing similar, with HEADING="B" and putting B in the column directly to the left of the key, yet it doesn't work on any of the data sets except the first

EVDRE Col Key Range

Hi All,
I have given two ranges for ColKey Range in EVDRE report.
When I am trying to expand the report it is giving the message "run Expand: ColKey Range <> Col Expand Options Wks: Sheet1"
Does any one faced th same problem, give a light to overcome this.

It's quite strange.
Ok, try to take the problem from the beginning. Go under ApShell --> Finance, and build your report with ONLY one expansion in rows (Account) and ONLY one expansion in columns (Time):
Your ColKeyRange EVRNG function should be as follow: "=EVRNG(G13:R13)" and the Memberset for the Column Expansion should be for example "BAS(2006.TOTAL)" --> This should work in all cases on your side. Can you confirm?
Then, you should update your ColKeyRange EVRNG function to include another range : "=EVRNG(G13:R13,T13:AE13)" (be sure to reference the same row in both ranges (13 in that case), and change the Memberset for the Column Expansion to "BAS(2006.TOTAL)|BAS(2007.TOTAL)" --> This should also work in all cases. Can you confirm?
If it's ok, you have to use exactly the same process on your particular application.

EVDRE u0096 Column Keys staying hidden on multiple expansions

I have an EVDRE that has two membersets and two Column Key Ranges. I also have the Hide Column Key option selected. When the first expansion member list either increases or decreases upon re-expand and the original second Column Key Range stays hidden.
Before Expansion
PageKeyRange    sheet1!C4:sheet1!C20
RowKeyRange     sheet1!T33:V64,sheet1!T73:V85
ColumnKeyRange sheet1!W28:IV32,sheet1!W69:IV72
After Expansion
PageKeyRange    sheet1!C4:sheet1!C20
RowKeyRange     sheet1!T33:V107,sheet1!T116:V128
ColumnKeyRange   sheet1!W28:IV32,sheet1!W112:IV115
The second column key range is below the first data range. When members are added or removed from the first memberlist, the original second column key range's rows W69:IV72 remain hidden and the new second column key range's rows W112:IV115 are also hidden. Except now the original column key rows now contain data not column keys.
I need to know how to make the original second Column Key Range unhide with every re-expansion.

If I understand the issue you have written, the following information may assist you in a solution.
How the key of a cell is built
The full key (current view) of a cell is ultimately controlled by EvDRE overlaying onto each cell the definitions of a current view as defined by any combination of the following settings:
1)     The system current view, as defined in the Current View bar
2)     The workbook current view, as parked in the workbook options, if set.
3)     The page current view, as defined in the PageKeyRange, if existing.
4)     The column current view, as defined in the ColumnKeyRange
5)      The row current view, as defined in the RowKeyRange
6)     The cell current view, as defined in the CellKeyRange
These definitions, if in conflict, take precedence from the lowest to the highest in the above list (The cell key, if existing, wins on the row key, that wins on the column key, that wins on the page key, etc.).
So, I think that if you keep the column key range of the 2nd set on the same rows as the 1st set as a relative reference, you should have a positive result, since the 2nd set of ranges create the point of intersection data retrival. Otherwise, you may need to consider using 2 evdre statements. If fact, if the data from the columns is in different catgories, or time members, you may want to consider this approach to develop a faster query.

Display certain totals as average values in Evdre

we have a planning layout in which the columns contain forecast previous year (2008.TOTAL) ,actual previous year and 12 columns of budget for current year (2009.JAN, ..., 2009.DEC). The rows have sales quantity and a couple of unit rates (sales and COS).
We would like the system to display the unit rates as averages instead of adding them up, while the sales volume should be added up. Is this possible?

Hi Dries,
I don't think that the cell key range of evdre can help you since this is only meant to be used for deviation of dimension members between the pagekey/rowkey/collkey ranges and an individual cell. It will not give you average data.
Concerning method 1:
You can build reports that expands in the rows and that have average formulas in one column that reference other columns.
Concerning method 4:
You can change the standard measures of an application. Normally an account has YTD and Periodics. You can add an other measure (or use an existing) that calculates an avg based on a property of an account, but be aware of possible performance risks.
When you have a periodic application, the measures are stored in the SQL table tblformula.
When you have a ytd application, the measures are stored in the SQL table tblytdformula.
Please process an application from administration after you changed the measures in the SQL table so that you can use them.
You can also create/change/try measures directly in Business Intelligence Studio.

Wrong Key Is Pressed.

I Have a Blackberry 8900 Curve With Updated Software And Mobilink My Service Provider. Whenever I Press A KEy On my Cell Key Board 'HL' Is Pressed Everytime And And When I Press The Left Key On My Cell. And Only Hl Everytime On Every Key.

It sounds like what I have seen multiple times on a device with moisture damage, where the keyboard has moisture and incorrect letters appear when pressing other keys.
Even sitting on a bathroom counter during a hot steamy shower or bath can cause keyboard and trackball problems UNTIL properly dried out. It really is more common than you think.
1. Remove the battery immediately!! Do not attempt to turn on your BlackBerry.
2. Let the device dry in a warm, dry place for 3 to 5 days* (see below)
3. DO NOT "check it each day" by placing the battery in. Leave it be to dry completely. This takes time. Replacing the battery to check it can only damage it more (moisture + electrical current = disaster).
4. If the device is warm after the drying period, allow it to cool to room temperature before placing the battery back in.
Suggestions on drying your BlackBerry in a warm place (open, with the battery out):
*Place the BB in a container of dry UNcooked rice, and then you might also place it in any of the locations mentioned below.
*On top of any dry heat emitting electronic component: TV cabinet or CRT, LCD, cable TV/Satellite converter box or plasma monitor
*On the dashboard of your car on a sunny day

Get only range with multiple evdre

how to get to select only one EVDRE cells to send data when i have two evdre's ina worksheet.
Well i tried with having applied getonly range to complete one EVDRE, but when i tried to send I still see that the dimensions and members from the first evdre are read.
inthe first evdre i have parent members and so the EVDRE is not successfull when sending data from the second evdre

Hi,
Whenever you are sending data, it has to be send on the base level members only. If you enter it in the parent level members, it will not be sent.
If you dont want to send data for a particular membersheet you can enter NOSEND in Option range. It will not send any data for that EVDRE report.
While sending the data for some EVDRE, you are always asked for Active Worksheet to Workbook option. If you select worksheet, it will only send data for that particular worksheet only.

BPC - Multiple Dimensions in Row Expansion - NOEXPAND issue

I have an EVDRE report in BPC where I am expanding on two different dimensions in the row (Entity, Geography). I want the Entity Dimension to dynamically expand. However, I want the Geography dimension to be static so I am using a NOEXPAND. The issue I am having is that now Entity won't expand when I change my CV.
Does anyone have a solution to this issue?

Thanks for the response. Let me start by saying the opposite is true. There can be many entities under one geography which is why I made the Geography a property of Entity so I think we are ok there.
I think I am still a little unclear how that code you provided will only give the Geography that is associated with a particular Entity on the Row Key.
Let me explain:
Ihave an Entity Dimension [E1, E2, E3] and a Geography Dimension [G1, G2]. I also have a property in the Entity Dimension that tells me which GEO_ID each Entity belongs to (i.e. E1->G1, E2->G1, E3->G2).
If I have an input schedule with static rows, I can use an EVPRO in the second column of the row key to pull out the proper Geography key. However if I have a dynamic row expansion I will get the following:
E1, G1
E1, G2
E2, G1
E2, G2
E3, G1
E3, G2
But what I really want is just
E1, G1
E2, G1
E3, G2
Because those are the proper mappings. Does this make more sense? Is there a way to accomplish this dynamically? The only way I have been able to do it thus far is by use a cell key range In which I take out geography from the row expansion and use an EVPRO in the cell key range to provide the proper Geography ID.

Dear Expert!
I want to lock the data in the Interactive Planning table according to each Key figure and a period of time (that mean I can not change the data of KF after locked). How can I do?
e.g: I created a Planning book and data view with following Key Figure:
- Forecast
- GDP
- CPI
- Historical Data
And the time bucket profile of this planning book as following:
- Past: 24 months
- Future: 12months
Now, I want to lock data of the KF "Forecast" in all past and future; lock data of other KF (GDP, CPI, Historical data) in past period.
How can I do now!

Hi LeGiang,
If you would like to not allow any manual input for ALL the key figures in the past, then the solution for this "history" part would be quite easy.
When you define the planning view, specify the "input from" date as the current date. This way, no-one would be able to change any data in the past manually.
The above would also take care of not allowing any manual changes to "Forecast" in the past.
If however, you want only certain KFs should be non-editable while others should be editable, then you should use the function CELL_INPUT:
Syntax would be like
<Macro Name>
   <Step Name> ( <Maintain 'processing Area' as 'past'>)
       Cell: <Key Figure Row name> ( Attributes ) =
          CELL_INPUT(0)
In above, remember that in <Step> row, you should double-click and change the value of the field 'change scope' to "attributes" from 'values'.
For the future and past, if you want that Forecast should be non-editable, then you could do this by another macro. Define a default macro that would change the attribute of the KF for Forecast as "no input allowed" for all the time periods. You could do this by using the function ROW_INPUT.
Your macro would look like -
<Macro Name>
    <Step Name> : ( 1 Iterations :INITIAL;INITIAL )
        Row: <Key Figure name e.g. Forecast> ( Attributes ) =
           ROW_INPUT( 0)
In the row line above, remember to double click and change the value of the field 'change scope' to "attributes" from 'values'.
If you need more help, do let me know. This second macro would actually make the whole row non-editable. You could create these macros as a default macro, and have them run in the end after the other default macros.

OOP ALV event on standard toolbar

Hi everyone,
I'm using a method SET_TABLE_FOR_FIRST_DISPLAY to create an ALV grid.
After making it editable I get these "Append", "Insert", "Delete" and "Duplicate Row" buttons in the toolbar by default.
Is there a way to override the functionality of these buttons?
My requirement is to make some cells (key fields) editable if a row has been duplicated or a new row has been inserted.

If you implement the toolbar event handler for the class, you can remove icons from the toolbar that you don't want.

If you use a regular pattern when entering values, press enter (return) after entering the last value in a row. That will take you to the first Body Cell of the next row.
Start in Cell B2
1 Tab 2 Tab 3 Enter
4 Tab 5 Tab 6 Enter
7 Tab 8 Tab 9 Enter
Now you are ready to type into B5 .
Another way that some people find easier is to enter one column at a time
Start at B2
1 enter
4 enter
7 enter
etc.
Now start with C2.
Use whatever suits your work flow.

J2ME: can you clear the key pressed buffer on a cell?

I am having trouble with keypressed.
I am writing a cell phone game in MIDP 2.0. Basically its the standard GameCanvas setup, where you have a main game loop and it calls your input function. The input function then does:

keyprocessing
to get the states.
When I demo it on the color phone in WTK2.0, and tap the right arrow, and my input loop processes the right multiple times. My initial thought was that the loop ran too fast perhaps and it read the press several times, so I put in a delay before keyprocessing:

Now, I have cut it down to only going in a direction once. However, if I press up, down, left, right, (in honor of Konami) My input goes as follow Up (delays MIN_TIME_INPUT) then Down, delays again, left, delays, right.
And so I am out of ideas.

haha, this is interesting... a month ago, i had the same problem, until i flash of intellect put me out of my misery...
rule 1: dont use the time delay. with the processor speed of the cell phones, with your delay, it will take a decade before the app runs...
heres how to do the coding to keep it to only 1 step at a time: ( i do it in the run method of the thread)

I used to be able to skip a cell to the right by using the toggle arrow keys

I placing a number or text in a cell i used to be able to skip the cell to the right by using the toggle arrow keys. I can't now? Using the RETURN key only goes down a cell. I want to go right? Why?

In Numbers 3, an arrow key moves the cursor one cell up, down, left or right.
Tab moves one cell right. Shift tab moves one cell left.
The command key and an arrow key will take the cursor to top, bottom, left or right of a table.
via the arrow keys (next to the letterM and question mark?).
I am puzzled by this. Between the letter M and ? I have < above comma (,) and > above full stop (.)
Shift command < zooms out and shift command > zooms in.
