Even out keyframes on multiple layers?

I currently have an animation in After Effects that has 76 layers all with their own keyframes the problem is when i play the animation its starts of fast buts get very slow near the end meaning i have spread out the keyframes near the end too much,
As there are 76 layers going through each one and manually adjusting them would take a long time is their anyway i can maybe even out all my keyframes in all the layers so that there equally apart so that it would play at the same speed throughout the animation?
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
Andrew

Or select the keyframes you want to retime by dragging a marquis around them with the selection tool (v) and then hold down the Alt/Option key and drag the last keyframe backwards or forewords in the timeline to proportionally retime all of the keyframes you have selected.
For more information type 'editing keyframes' in the After Effects Search Help field at the top right corner of AE and follow the links you get to a bunch of tutorials on editing keyframes. Here's the main help file on editing keyframes.

  • Photoshop CC 14.1 editing paths on multiple layers disabled?

    Has editing paths on multiple layers with the direct selection tool been disabled in Photoshop CC 14.1? I can't seem to figure out how to do it now, shift- or command-clicking doesn't do anything. In fact, I can't even click to select individual paths on different layers, something that Photoshop has had forever.
    While it was at times problematic the way it was in 14.0 (always selecting multiple layers and having to go into isolation mode to edit just one), there were times when it was useful to edit multiple layers, or even just click between layers with the direct selection tool.
    I've seen this documentation on the site, but I'm not sure it's very helpful. Can someone give me some assistance?
    Also, what is the custom keyboard shortcut for entering/exiting isolation mode? It is mentioned in the above image, but what actually is it?

    You can still work with paths the way you could in 14.0 -- just choose the All Layers mode in the Path Selection tool or Direct Selection tool options bar. We added the Active Layers mode for users who prefer to isolate which paths can be selected based on which layers they have already selected in the Layers panel.
    To clarify:
    -Active Layers mode: Clicking or dragging on the canvas with the vector selection tools will not affect which layers are selected in the Layers panel. Double-click to enter isolation mode is disabled.
    -All Layers mode: Works just like in 14.0 -- clicking or dragging on the canvas with the vector selection tools can change which layers are selected in the Layers panel. Double-click to enter isolation mode is enabled.
    If you find yourself switching between these two modes a lot, you can add a custom keyboard shortcut that will toggle which mode is selected. In the Keyboard Shortcuts dialog, choose Shortcuts For: Tools and scroll down to the Direct Selection Mode Toggle option. Add your new keyboard shortcut here.
    As for your question about isolation mode keyboard shortcuts, this just means that you can assign a custom keyboard shortcut to this command as well (Select > Isolate Layers).

  • Expression / Linked slider for controlling multiple layers

    I'm trying to create a slideshow with many many layers. Image sizes vary across the board.
    I'd like to line them all up and set some Ken Burns keyframes on the scale before I use keyframe assistant to sequence them.
    Is there anyway I can control these keyframes with relative values? So that I scale multiple layers in the same manner although they have different concrete values?

    You can set up an expression that automatically starts a scale and a move on an image, tie variables to Effects Control Sliders and save the whole set as an Animation preset. That way you can drop all your photos in a time line, Scale and position the layer in it's final resting place, then set an out point for each layer, then elect them all and apply an animation preset and sequence the layers. EZ as pie, once you write the expression.
    To setup an auto scale expression you simply divide the height of the composition by the height of the current layer and multiply by 100. Adding an expression Control Checkbox to layer and naming it AutoScale will give you the ability to turn auto scaling of the layer on or off. Here's the expression:
    h=height;
    ch = thisComp.height;
    s = ch/h * 100;
    if (effect("AutoScale")("Checkbox") == 1) {
        ns = s}
    else
    ns = value[0];
    [ns, ns, 100]
    Use caution because this will scale a layer up to fill the comp height as well as scale a layer down. Also take note that if your layer is scaled down more than 50% you are probably not getting the best results in terms of image clarity or render times. Ideally any 2d footage layer in your composition should be some where close to 100% scale at some point in the composition. If the layer is 3D then the distance between the camera and the 3D layer should be approximately equal to the zoom value at some point in the composition with the layer at 100% scale.
    Just for fun, try this Effects Preset that I have in my collection. Make the layers 3D, position them at their ending position, set an out point, then apply the animation preset. The layer will fade in and move to the ending position then fade out. You have a point control to control the starting point and a switch to make the layer fit the comp vertically. You can control the fade in - fade out time in frames, set easing, setup rotation, and there is a setup switch to kill opacity changes so you can see the starting and ending setup for your layers.

    It's a good idea to start building your own animation presets library so you can have access to complex expressions with a click or two. I have more than 200 in mine. I pointed an alias to a dropbox account so I can have access to all my presets anywhere I am in the world.

  • Script for Linking multiple layers to a null layer

    I'm trying to link multiple layers to an animated null layer but I want each layer to start the animation from layer starting time.
    What would be the script I need to add instead duplicating null layer for every layers?
    I hope that question isn't too confusing to understand lol
    TIA
    W

    Sorry, I'm not good at explaining things though texts lol
    Hopefully this picture can explain better what I'm trying to achieve.
    I want to link the text layers to ROTATE null object but I want the keyframes to start at the beginning of each of text layer. This way, I won't need keyframes for each text layer and I can adjust the timing easier later. I know the script lines to link them to a null object but I can't figure out the line to tell the keyframes to start at the beginning of the layer instead the null object in the timeline.
    I think I just made this more confusing lol

  • Animated Gif - Aligning Multiple layers

    Hi All
    I am creating a rotating animated gif in PS. Now I have about 37 layers, where I increment the angle of each layer with 10 degress relative to the previous one. But even when aligning all my layers with the aligning tools the layers still not align...How can I align them perfectly? See what I mean on the image below here:
    NOTE: If the gif here does not animate, see this link:
    You can see it is off-center

    DexterDave wrote:
    @JJMack. I am not sure how to rotate the layer without the older frame copying the new rotated position...that is why I used copies of layers
    You do copy the layer and rotate. The layer needs to be perfectly aligned to the center of a is square 1:1 aspect ratio canvas. Guide lines were added 50% Horizontal and Vertically three were added a 49%, 50% and 51%. Then using the elliptical tool set to path mode a circle path was drawn by holding down the Alt key so the path would be from the center and holding the shift key down so the ellipse would be constrain to a circle. You click at the 50% 50% crossed guide line which the mouse pointer snaps to and you drag out the first otter circle.  You then set the path mode to subtract and drag out the inner circle.  Your path is now a ring. Then switch you the rectangle tool and subtract a rectangle path using the 49% and 51% guide lines. Your Path is now two arcs. Create two filled Shape layers the colors in the ring delete 1/2 of the layer so you have two colored arcs. Rastersize the two and merge the two layers int one.  You now have you arcs aligned from the center.  Next the action its simple dupe the layer rotate the layer 10 degrees select previous layer turn off visibility select layer forward.  Play this action till you the required 36 ring layers. Create a frame animation have Photoshop make frames from the layers using the frame animation palette's fly-out option.  Delete the first IK frames and turn on the IK layer visibility in what in now the first frame. It will turn on in all frames. You the save for web the animated gif. PSD file http://mouseprints.net/old/dpr/ik.psd  also tried using a smart object ring layer to loose less quality rotating the layer however there seem to be movement in the rotation.  Photoshop may be having a problem dealing wit the transparency in the layer and the break in the circle. http://mouseprints.net/old/dpr/ikso.psd so then I put all the ring layers into a group and masked the group with a vector mask. http://mouseprints.net/old/dpr/iksomask.psd  the best tool you have when using Photoshop is the gray matter between your ears let it do its thing it may even surprise you sometimes.

  • MULTIPLE place image import...& "save as.." multiple layers to multipage PDF

    Hello,
    just some suggestions I`d like to see to speed up my set up and output..
    i`d like to import multiple placed images into illustrator CS4. So open dialogue box place, and multiple select images for placing.
    regards output save as...
    Can we output multiple layers  into a single PDF in illustrator?  Or multiple layers into single JPEGS  from illustrator with one command instead of individually saving out  each layer... would be a huge time saver for me.I create different artworks on different layers..
    Currently  I output each completed layer individually and then right click those  outputted jpegs in their output folder and choose "combine supported  files into acrobat..." to make a single acrobat file..i`d like to do this right in the illustrator "save for PDF" dialogue box. Adding  something in the Save for PDF output dialogue box to save layers to one PDF as multiple pages would be a helpful time saver..
    I`d  also like to be able to CTRL click multiple layers and go " save as..."  only those layers get saved out...

    , bridge -FILE/PLACE into ai, goes to separate layers in AI as placed.
    in PS, bridge/tools/ps/load files into ps layers.. CS4.
    just using right click in explorer on individual PDF docs from layers saved from PS to combine to PDF. but cannot output multiple pds from layers in AI in CS4.

  • How to change blending mode on multiple layers at the same time

    I'm using CS5. I have a document with about 70 layers. I would like to change the blending mode to "lighten" for each layer. Is there an easy way to do this?

    Photoshop doesn't allow multiple layer editing. That's why the styles are grayed out. Only 1 layer at a time.
    What version are you talking about?
    CS5 definitely let’s one apply a Style to multiple Layers.
    rfcommagere, I don’t know how to make it much clearer:
    • set the Blending Mode on one Layer
    • with that Layer selected create a Style with »Include Layer Blending Options« checked
    • select all other Layers that should have that Blending Mode
    • click the Style in the Styles Panel

  • Custom keyboard shortcuts and editing multiple layers in Flash CS4

    Hi, all -
    CS3 -> CS4 transition newb here who's getting increasingly frustrated with the new motion tweens; however, for this project, I'm working in a 3D space and require using them, so I'm dealing with this bit by painful bit. I found the tip about Split Motion, but first question: how do you apply Split Motion across several layers at the same time? I have six different tweens, and in CS3, I used to be able to shift-click or click-drag across frames and apply a command to all of them (for example, hit F5 to add frames), but Split Motion is requiring me to right-click on each and every layer. This is really laborious, and I worry about future animations that might be more complex.
    Similarly, I tend to add custom keyboard shortcuts to each of my Flash versions for commands I use frequently and don't want to right-click a menu for (such as "add motion tween") - however, I can't seem to find where to create a custom shortcut for either that, or Split Motion.
    Any and all help would be appreciated as I muddle through this. Honestly, guys, I WANT to like the new version and there's so many added features, but it's hampering my workflow so bad I want to pummel it with sticks.

    Hey there,
    I definitely hear you about Split Motion. There is an enhancement request for supporting multiple layers, and adding it as a keyboard shortcut. The first one is tricky, but the second one is not. I think there was hope that splitting motions wouldn't be necessary much (especially since you have to be careful when doing so when eases are involved), which is why the eventual need for more functionality related to split motion was realized a bit late in the schedule.
    Now regarding other operations, such as you mentioned F5 to insert frames - that and other operations (inserting certain types of property keyframes, F6, and so on) work just fine.
    You can apply a shortcut to Create Motion Tween in the custom keyboard shortcut dialog.  Not all operations in the program are available though (most context menu items aren't), which is why unfortunately why we don't see Split Motion yet.
    It might be possible to avoid Split Motion though with another workflow. What are you using the feature for?  Just curious in case I can help.
    Jen.

  • Convert multiple layers into separate smart objects

    I have multiple layers in a document that I want to make into separate smart objects.
    If I select them and choose "convert to smart object" in the Layers Panel fly out, it flattens the layers into 1 smart object.
    Can it be done, or do I need to make each layer a smart object one at a time.
    OR... let me back up
    I have several files in Bridge, I want to "load into Photoshop layers" using the TOOLS > Batch Command BUT have each file load as a smart object.
    Either way would be great!

    While these don't use the batch command, take a look at
    from within photoshop, File>Scripts>Load Files into Stack.
    For bridge try Dr. Browns Services:
    http://www.russellbrown.com/scripts.html
    If you have cs5, you can drag files from mini bridge into an existing
    photoshop document, for smart object layers, provided you have
    your preferences under general to place or drag raster images as smart objects.

  • How do you copy a selected area of multiple layers?

    I'm trying to create an animated gif using PS and I can't find out how to copy multiple layers. Right now I have 110 different layers and I want to select the same portion of every layer and copy it into a new file without flattening the image. So I want to be able to start, and end with, 110 layers. The 110 different layers are all separate pictures of my desktop and I want to crop out most of the desktop to focus on one area in particular. Is there anyway to do this?

    One could delete, select next layer, delete, select next layer … which should be Action-able.
    Or duplicate the image and crop it to the intended size.
    Or why not simply put the Layers into a Group and add a Layer Mask to that?

  • How To Do Frame animation w/ Multiple Layers Per Frame

    So I'm working on an 8-bit character template as game art. I've got multiple layers (ie: Hat Apparel, Body, Pants, Shirt, Neck Apparel, Mouth Apparel). I want all of these to be animated in their own layers. Is there a way to do that? I have all of the layers  inside a group but I couldn't figure out a way to have a group in a frame. It would only take single layers per frame. I am not very advanced at Photoshop, I've dabbled but work more on the 3d/programming side of game design so sorry in advance if I over-complicate this

    For example this animation was made with two layer.  The top layer the jjmack linked letters has a layer mask that is not linked to the layers content. The other layer is the background layer. The first frame I created was both layers visible with the jjmack layers content positioned off canvas upper left and the second frame I created was both layers visible with the jjmack layer content lower and off canvas to the right. I had Photoshop generate all the frames tween them.

  • Change opacity of multiple layers in ImageReady?

    Does anyone know how to change opacity of MULTIPLE layers in Adobe  ImageReady CS2 (NOT cs5)? I have like 30 layers, and I'm trying to fade  out effect of all 30 layers, if I do it manually I'll have to click  layers and change opacity 300 times, that's ridiculous. When I  select all layers for some reason the opacity tab is faded out??

    This would be an excellent question for the Photoshop (ImageReady) forum.

  • Trouble converting HTML with multiple layers to PDF

    Acrobat has a great feature where you can convert a webpage with multiple layers into a multi-page PDF. I've run into a couple example web pages that are giving me problems:
    1) Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies
    https://doraimage.state.co.us/LibertyIMS::/sidr6B2n5OW4s40hEk6/Cmd%3D%24%24DF63GVEbxAIjDRp jm%3BGPZ1%3D%23k2I
    I try to convert a page with 28 links to PDF's that are multi-page PDF's, but it looks like all of the pages start importing into acrobat out of order. I get page 1, page 2, then it jumps to page 6, etc... What am I doing wrong or is it something with how the site is storing the images on the server?
    2) Indiana License Litigation
    http://www.in.gov/apps/pla/litigation/
    I'm unable to select a profession/board type from a drop down menu and successfully convert the pages contained therein from HTML to PDF. Does the 'convert multple layers' feature of acrobat not support pages that are built as a "dropdown database" type search?
    Thanks!

    you can use this html to pdf solution to convert multiple html layers to the same pdf

  • Multiple layers movie

    At our company we have a project in which we use multiple layers (z-index) for a website.
    A background layer
    A layer with a movie-frame
    A layer with a presenter
    A layer with buttons and actions
    Now is my question how to resolve this best in Flex.  We were able to do it in PHP and Flash, but the result (quality) isn't optimal.
    The layer with the presenter is a filmed presenter in front of a greenscreen (and then a cut-out), but this result isn't sharp enough.
    Does anyone know how we can build this in Flex, with a minimal loss of quality?
