Even though Verizon mail settings are correct (Verizon agrees), no Verizon mail comes through on my iPad2. Other mail accounts not affected. Annoying pop-ups occur every time I open mail telling me settings are incorrect. Grateful for any help.

Other providers set up fine on the device, Verizon's doesn't? A pretty good indication that this isn't an "Apple issue".

When you say seem correct, have you checked in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Account name > Outgoing Mail Server, SMTP and the outgoing server name is correct, then > Primary Server name is correct > Host Name, User Name, redo the Password, Use SSL is OFF or ON according to your provider, may just try it both ways, Server Port, often 25 is the best to use. -

Even if you put a credit or debit card on file with iTunes it will still use your balance FIRST.
I would suggest putting a card on file and testing to see if it will allow you to make a purchase, then removing the card from the account after successful download of an item.

I am new to iphone and itunes. I constantly get email to verify my account name. Many times I put my password in correct and it says it needs to verify. In two days time about ten times. What am I doing wrong?
The verification email is not sent immediately so be patient and wait a while.

My thunderbird has stopped downloading messages in one of my accounts, the other two accounts, from different providers, are working fine.
We have two PC's downloading messages from the same account, and it has worked fine like this for years. The other PC is still receiving the messages. I've checked my webmail, and can log in fine there, the settings in my account have not been changed in Thunderbird, and are the same as the other PC.
I looked in the error console in Thunderbird, this is what message I get :

Can windows 8.1 access Windows Server 2008R2?
Also,please check the event viewer to see if some error log appeared when the issue occurred.

It's printing gobbledy gook and I can't figure out why. Settings are fine.
I check all my settings and it prints but it may even be another language. It's not readable in English. Everything's fine everywhere else, Chrome, IE9. I'm only havng problems on Firefox. 3 series or Beta.

Hi. When I go into my contacts and type a letter in the saerch bar to get to a list of last names that begin with that letter I get a list of random names that don't begin or end with the letter. My Settings appear fine. Any insights would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Bill
The search bar is not designed to take you to names beginning with the letter you put in. If you want to do that, use the letters down the side. In the search bar, the device will return results for all contacts that have that have that letter in them. If you type a couple of letters of the name, you'll find what you want faster. Once you get used to how it works, it's quite efficient.

Looking for help.... I keep getting a pop-up message on my phone stating that my server is not responding and to check my settings. My settings are fine. Any advice on what I can do to receive new emails on my phone? Help!
For a few weeks I have been using the GMail app on my iPhone 4S to get mail without problem. When I wanted to check something in Apple's Mail app, which has worked well for years, I now get a message for my principal email address that the server is "not responding," even though the same server is responding to my GMail app. For some reason, when I dismissed the message in Mail, it popped up again, but then could be dismissed. Did something change in Mail that requires some imap addresses be deleted and readded? Any idea?
I would not want to think that Mail is programmed to befuddle if it is ignored too long. -

My iPhone will no longer picks-up the wifi at home(comcast). My mom used to have comcast and I used to connect there as well, but she changed to verison and I connect there, but no longer can get the comcast wi-fi at home. The wi-fi settings are ok there, but blank at home now. The phone's network settings are fine because I can join other wifi networks. I've done a reset with no results. Is there a manual way for me to restore the comcast wifi from the router?
First thanks for the reply and second sorry about the confusion. I was unable to get the full message out, but here's the problem:
Like I had mentioned, for a long time both me and my Mom had comcast and as soon as I came into both dwellings the phone would automatically jump onto either wifi network. Then a while ago she verison and used the same Belkin router. So there was no problem and my phone jumped on her system as usual, but at some point something happened and when I got home I noticed that the phone asked to be put on my system. I would input the password, but it would say "unable to connect" to the network. I did the standard things like check the network settings on the phone itself and they were fine. Then I did a reset (actually twice) with the same result. It seems like the phone ability to pick-up wi-fi is ok because when I go to my University I can log-in with no problem. The only thing I noticed is when I look at the settings (on the iPhone) for the router at home the whole thing is blank. My question is: Is there a manual way to get the phone to pick-up my router? I need to have it on my network at home because I use DocumentsToGo a lot. Thanks again for your response again and I hope things are clear now. Have a great day.

My daughers ipod can not connect to wifi. ALl other devices in our house do, so I am not sure if this one ahs been dropped too mnay times. All settings are fine, as I manage all the other devices, so I know it is an issue with this ipod.
Does the iPod connect to other networks?
Does the iPod see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iPod connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on the router
- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

I can use a secondary account but not my primary yahoo.verizon account. Verified all settings are correct but the password was erased. After re-entering password a message says I have to verify my password by entering it at www.yahoo.com. However, I DO NOT have a Yahoo email account. It is a Verizon email account partnered with Yahoo.
