Even though updated to 4 successfully Firefox keeps asking me to update to 4. Why?

Before going further try to confirm what version of Firefox you do have.
What do you see looking at ''about firefox'' from the help menu ? I ask because your ''System Details'' are showing Firefox 3.6.17 not the current version Firefox 4.0.1.
If you turn off the option to display the menu toolbar do you see the firefox button in the top left and do you get an option to use [why are tabs on top?|tabs on top], both are features of Firefox 4.
It is not easy to find help articles, or even other posts at the moment there appears to be a problem / [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/forums/contributors/706420#post-35304 glitch] in the search system.

If you're positive the information is correct, ask the issuing bank why the transaction is being rejected.
You're getting this error because the store can not authorize the card with your bank.

I keep updating my software but it keeps asking me to update the same things

My computer asks me to install the updates. i click update 12 items. After my computer restarts, it asks me to update the same 12 items again. I have done this 5 times. What do i do now?

For some days now Firefox keeps asking me to update to Firefox 31.2.0esr, although I have done this already without receiving any error message.
The program is on 31.1.0

What does it tell in Help > About?

I am not getting an errr #. It just says that there are purchases on my ipod, not in my itunes. I transfer all of my ipod purchases into itunes. Then I try an download the new version of my ipod 7.1.1. It still says there are purchases on my ipod touch. So I just hit continue because their are not purchases on my ipod, that aren't in itunes. It extracts the software, and backs up ipod. Then itunes just closes. When I reopen it I get the same message A new iPod software version (7.1.1) is available for the iPod “My" iPodl”. Would you like to update your iPod now? My imac has recently been restored to as new, I have the newest ipod touch, and my version of itunes is also the newest version. The only thing that I can assume is that the problem, is another untested & bad update, from Capn Cook.

Do not use [[Clear Recent History]] to clear the "Site Preferences"
Clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, and passwords.

Websites remembering you and automatically log you in is stored in a cookie.
* Create an allow cookie exception (Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: Exceptions) to keep such a cookie, especially for secure websites and if cookies expire when Firefox is closed.
Make sure that you do not run Firefox in Private Browsing mode.

firefox keeps asking to authenticate to kerebos even though it is no longer using the xserve as a proxy, do i have to reset something in firefox or delete something so it works with a new windows proxy? can't seem to get past this as i can't authenticate as it is no longer using that proxy, so just keeps popping up all the time with cannot contact any kdc for requested realm . There must be a way to reset firefox to not look for kerebos? any ideas would be greatly appreciated?

When the Kerberos login window appears just click cancel. Firefox should then use the next authentication mechanism it can or it won't bother if that's all there was. You can 'reset' Firefox by removing the Firefox folder from /Users/home/Library/Application Support. Relaunch the application afterwards.
Don't trash the moved folder as you may want to reinstate the Bookmarks.html? If you do it should be fairly obvious to you as to what you need to do. If you don't want the bookmarks trash the folder.

Go and log out of your MobileMe account and then try logging back in again with a dummy username and password. This can help clear it and then just log back in again with your normal username and password.
Note though that iWeb does not require a password or username to use it - this is MobileMe.
Also, start thinking about MobileMe alternatives before you are forced to in June.

Firefox keeps asking to install Flash. When I attempt this, I get an error message stating it failed. Flash works in Google Chrome, but not FF.

There is no other information given and I'm just left hanging. I've tried this over twenty times with the same results. I've even uninstalled and re-installed Firefox, but this continues. I'm unable to watch any YouTube videos. I then installed Google Chrome and all is working fine. I can't stand the Google company though and really with I could continue using Firefox. Why is GC working for me any FF not? How can I fix this?

Google Chrome comes with its own Flash plugin, so doesn't require to install Flash separately.

You may have to run the Flash installer as Administrator (right-click: Run as Administrator) and make sure that Firefox and possibly other browsers are closed.

Can't do anything on iTunes without getting a "open software update" button. I already updated the software, but it keeps asking me to do it. So frustrating!

Then it simply was NOT Brand New. Doesn't matter what the box looked like when you got it or if you went through the setup pages when you first turned it on. If it is registered to some other Apple ID then someone else had originally registered it and locked it to there ID.
Type in the serial number of the system into this page.

Problem is with Yahoo mail which keeps asking me to update my Safari browser but everything is up to date as far as I can tell. Have reset Safari & empties cache.
But no change- every time I go to open Yahoo mail it goes to a page with update boxes for Firefox & Safari asking me to upgrade but on hitting Safari upgrade box it just takes me to an Apple page that explains the benefits of the new Safari ( Mavericks maybe ) with no option to upgrade. Can anyone suggest an answer to this annoyance.

Your post is pretty lengthy and I have to admit I didn't read it all. Please try restarting in Safe Mode, if that doesn't work please do both a SMC and PRAM reset. These may take 2-3 attempts.
SMC RESET
Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer's power cord and all peripherals.
Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
Release the power button.
Attach the computers power cable.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
PRAM RESET
Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys.
