Event 701 - The Application Impact Telemetry (AIT) Agent is not running because AIT is disabled.

In a survey of several Windows 7 systems, in the Application-Experience Program-Telemetry log, I found daily instances of Information Event 701 "The Application Impact Telemetry (AIT) Agent is not running because AIT is disabled".  The trigger
for this event is execution of the built-in scheduled task to run Aitagent.exe daily at 02:30.
The message "AIT is disabled" is puzzling to me. 
I checked participation in the Customer Experience Improvement Program (CEIP) on the idea that a setting to disable participation could translate into "AIT is disabled", but CEIP is set to Yes (participate).
I checked Windows Error Reporting settings - they are set to "Automatically check for solutions and send additional report data, if needed"
I checked the REG_DWORD value AITEnable in HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\AIT is set to 0x1, which should indicate that AIT is enabled.
I would appreciate if anyone can explain where/how AIT is disabled.

Thank you for suggesting installing the
Microsoft Application Compatibility Toolkit 5.6 (ACT).  This is quite an enterprise-level program (the Step-by-Step guide says "We
recommend that you collect your data from approximately 10,000
computers")! 
Anyway, installing the ACT and sending an empty data set to Microsoft worked, but did not eliminate Event 701 when the scheduled task to run AitAgent.exe executed
(as scheduled or manually) or when AitAgent.exe was run from an Administrator command prompt.
Since the scheduled task to run AitAgent.exe is part of a out-of-box installation of Windows 7, and its description states "Aggregates and uploads Application Telemetry
information if opted-in to the Microsoft Customer Experience Improvement Program", it would seem that it would run without error, at least when participation in the CEIP is enabled.

    My previous post referred to .ashx files, and the problem seems that Firefox, by default, does not recognize a .ashx format being read by Adobe Acrobat.

    Gotcha... But actually its limited to 9 icons in the L theme as the Profiles icon is always present. From that screen hit the Menu key to display the bigger list of icons. Arange them so the first 9 icons are the ones you want to see on the L theme.

    The iPod's firmware is corrupt. You'll need to restore it again in iTunes. If necessary, place the iPod in recovery mode for iTunes to recognize the device. Use the instructions in this Apple support document to walk you through the process of placing the iPod Touch into recovery mode.

    Download only one application at a time.
    Click all downloading applications until they all say "Paused".  Then click one at a time, let it complete downloading, then click the next and repeat.

  • Crash, crash, crash The application arch quit unexpectedly.  could not load inserted library (???)

    I keep getting the notice on my desktop, "The application arch quit unexpectedly.  could not load inserted library: /Library/Application Support/DriveGenius/libdf.dylib".
    If I dismiss the notice it reappears in 10 seconds., crashes every 10 seconds.
    I'm assuming that Application Arch is an archive file.
    I've got several hundred archive files according to the app "Find Any File", dunno which is the offending one.
    In /Library/Application Support there's no DriveGenius/libdf.dylib to be found, not even in ~Library/Application Support. I can't even locate a DriveGenius/libdf.dylib file anywhere in my system.
    I don't even have DriveGenius installed.
    Where do I go from here?

    Drive Genius must've been installed at one time & not completely removed.
    You may have to install it again to remove it, or see if it has an uninstaller uption in the installer.
    Might Check System Preferences>Accounts>Login Items window to see if it or something relevant is listed.
    Also look in these if they exist, some are invisible...

  • Cisco NAC agent services not running on Windows XP

    I've problem with Cisco NAC agent services on Windows XP professional SP3.
    After first installation using user local administrator, the services of Cisco NAC agent on windows machine running well, but after logout, and login using another user which is registered in domain users, the services of Cisco NAC agent is going to stopped (going to Manual mode not automatic, and the status is stopped).
    This situation is not happened on all windows machines, several machines running well.
    Cisco NAC agent version 4.9.0.42
    Has anyone seen this type of problem?

    Hi thanks for your answers, dbconsole is started in services.msc and also Agent, but goes on to say that the agent is not running.

    Hi Ratish,
    Following are the things i did and things which are happening .. :)
    created a scenario and scheduled it.
    And from Topology Man.. Agent Window... clicked on "Update Scheduling"... Output is "Planning Update is Completed" and when i click on Schedule Information" it is throwing warning saying... "Unable to retrieve Agents Schedule"... and my scheduled job is also not executed at scheduled time.
    Any idea what could be the problem?

    No, Acrobat is not a word processor.
    More to the point Acrobat lets one "work" PDF and PDF is not a file format designed as a word processing, editing, formating, or page layout file format.
    PDF is, essentially, a "final destination" format.
    What it is is described in the ISO Standard for  PDF (ISO 32000-1).

    I try to set up a datasource to SQL server 2008 Express.
    And I get always that message :

    I spent a full day looking at all forums threads, I have learn a lot,
    Looking through all Google return on that subject, but it still not working.
    I ask for help to solve this situation.
    Here is my situation :
    - Windows server 2008 R2 - CF9.0 - SQL server Express 2008
    - Working through TSE (terminal server)
    - on SQL server , I can acces the management studio, connect, create DB, anything
    - I can Stop/Restart the SQL server service throuh the SQLconfig manager
    - I have enable TCP/IP in SQLserver for 2 IPs : 127.0.0.1 and the server externel IP on which I connect through TSE, both on port 1433
    - SQL server Express 2008 is installed on Hard Disk D:  (not on C:)  (C is small for diskspace)
    - The SQL server Instance showed in SQL management Studio is : LARDE\SQLEXPRESS
    - Authentification in SQL server : SQL server and Windows
    - the CF datasource is declared as follow :
         Driver : Microsoft SQL server
         datasource name : any
         database : the accesible SQL database name where i created a new table
         server : LARDE\SQLEXPRESS   port : 1433
         no login
    And I get this error in CF admin datasource : The requested instance is either invalid or not running
    - I tried also with a new connection on SQLserver (username/password),
      add it in the datasource declaration (user login)
      same error.
    It seems to me that it is a question of Coldfusion access to that instance of SQLserver
    I have the same config at home on local, all is working fine. (difference is TSE)
