Event could not be deleted because of a server error

I entered a repeating event into my iPhone 5s calendar. It syncs with iCal on my Mac and with iCloud. Now when I attempt to change the location of the event, or even delete it, I get this:
"This event couldn't be deleted because of a server error. Please try again."
When I try to delete the event on iCal or my iPhone it says:
"Access to (event name) in (name of iCloud calendar) is not permitted. The server responded: "403" to operation CalDAVWriteEntityQueueableOperation."
Help please!

I have the same problem as reported in https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5835990?tstart=0
I "Sent to Apple" my Reminders Problem, but so far there's no indication that Apple recognizes the problem. Everything still shows green. Does anyone know a better way to report service failures?

  • File could not be deleted because it could not be found

OS 9.2.2, Pismo, and a strange error. I have moved these files to the trash, but I can't delete them! When I try to delete them, the OS spits up this error: <filename> could not be deleted, because it could not be found. Yet, it's right there in the trash. Any ideas?

    Hi, FifthWheelAt80MPH -
Some more ways to get rid of a file that won't trash properly -
    • Boot up to your OS Install CD, and try emptying the Trash then.
    • Create a folder on your desktop. Put the problem file in it. Create a SimpleText file, give it the exact same name as the problem file. Then drag the SimpleText file into the closed new folder. When asked if you want to replace the file already there, click okay.
    • Use DropStuff. Double-click DropStuff, and in its Preferences turn on Delete original after stuffing. Then quit DropStuff, and drag the problem file onto DropStuff's icon. The problem file should vanish, and the archive created by DropStuff should be easily trashable. Don't forget to reset DropStuff's Preferences afterwards.
    • Download this utility - FileBuddy - and open FileBuddy. Select Delete... from FileBuddy's File menu, navigate to the problem file, select it in the list and click "choose" - confirm you want to delete that file in the splash screen.
    <hr>
Sometimes having one or more files that won't trash normally can be just one of those things that occasionally happen for no known reason.
Sometimes, though, it can indicate that there are some problems with the hard drive, such as damaged directories. To check for that, boot to an OS 9 Install CD and run Disk First Aid (it's in the Utilities folder on the CD). Let DFA examine the hard drive, and let it repair anything it finds wrong. There are several kinds of directory damage that DFA can diagnose but can't repair - should that happen, there are other utilities available which can usually fix them.

i delete my iphone from find my i phone and now i want to make active my i phone  i get the message  your i phone could not be activated because the activation server failed i try it several time but my iphone is not activate help me fpls

Activation issues are almost always the result of a device that has been hacked or jailbroken.  If that is the case, no support can be provided here.
The other possible issue is a device running the iOS7 Beta.  If that is the case, and you are a developer, sign into the developers forums for assistance.  If that is the case and you are not a developer, try google.

how to configure my 3gs iphone? it says your iphone could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable......
i live in iran. this 3gs was a gift from america .. it contains NOTHING. i can do nothing with it. it cannot be updated cuz the version is low. i dunno what t do please help.

    Possible causes:
    1. Your antivirus is blocking access to gs.apple.com.
    2. Your phone is jailbroken.
    3. Your computer has been used at some time in the past to jaibreak some iOS device (not necessarily the phone with the problem), and its network database was corrupted by the hacking software that was used.
    4. Apple's activation servers are down (very rare, and never for more than an hour or so).
    5. The phone was reported stolen. If it was it can never be activated again.
For 1. try disabling your antivirus.
For 2. & 3. you need to go somewhere other than an apple forum for help. Although you can try deleting lines containing gs.apple.com from your "hosts" file on your computer.

  • I am unable to add Firefox for some reason. I get a message that "the addon could not be downloaded because of a connection error on Mozilla.addons..."

I am running Firefox 10 on my MacBook Pro. I have tried several times to download the Firebug addon, but get the following message:
"The addon could not be downloaded because of a connection error on Mozilla.addons.org"

Type '''about:config''' in the Location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key. When you see a warning, click '''I'll be careful, I promise!''' button.
-> right-click somewhere, click '''New''' -> select '''String'''
    * name it '''xpinstall.enabled''' and set the value to '''True'''
-> Close the '''about:config''' tab and then Restart Firefox.
All the downloads should work now. If you delete this value some time later it still works.
Check and tell if its working.

  • HT4623 iphone could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable many time

iphone could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable many time

Your antivirus or firewall may be blocking access to Apple's activation server at gs.apple.com.
If you have ever used your computer to hack or jailbreak any iOS device at any time in the past your network database on your computer is corrupted. Open the hosts file and delete any lines that contain gs.apple.com.
    Mac: /etc/hosts
    Windows: c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
It is a hidden file, so you will have to set your file explorer to show hidden files.

I changed my security preferences and still get the same thing poping up.  I am not able to open PS CS5.1 on my mac.

    MikeNewsome.com

I don't think the application installation would be corrupt because I uninstalled and re-installed according to adobe and all the times I did so, it was from adobe website.  and I am thinking about the OS, if that were corrupt, a lot more applications, ... would be giving me problems.
It is only PS. I am almost at wit's end trying to solve this issue. I would have thought re-insatlling program (prob did this about 10 times), would solve any issues.  I did use the cc cleaner but only yesterday as a last resort. I just don't know where to go with this problem.
when 1st happened I just uninstalled and reinstalled a few times and when that didn't solve anything, also then ran utility programs a few times.all the while deleted prefs

  • Can not open photshop CC 2014     ERROR  could not initialize Photoshop because of a program error

    Hi
I can not open Photshop CC 2014
    ERROR
could not initialize Photoshop because of a program error

I've had the same error happen to me.  I deleted the preferences file, updated JAVA, etc.  none of which worked.
I've spent days systematically working to isolate the variable that seems to make Photoshop work one day and "not initialize" the next.  I simply can't afford to stop work when Photoshop doesn't want to initialize due to: PSOWLListenerProxyBaseCocoa.mm : 52 : REQUIRE failed
Apologies, but I REQUIRE YOU TO INITIALIZE!
I think that I've isolated the problem.  I have a dual monitor set-up.  Sometimes I use the second monitor and sometimes I don't, sometimes monitor 2 is powered on and sometimes it's not.  It's really the only thing with any variance on my system.  I disconnected my second monitor.  Then I clicked the Photoshop icon and the program opened...
I am running OS X 10.9 and Photoshop CS 5.1
There appears to be a link between Photoshop not wanting to initialize and Graphics Card / Monitors.

  • IPhone 4S could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable

If you got the "scary" message that you could not activate iPhone 4S neither by Wi-Fi or iTunes, I want to share my experience:
I decided to reset my iPhone 4S, and used "Erase All Content and Settings" under the reset menu (Settings/General/Reset), I was hoping that the erasing just does that, but for me the nightmare started!
I was taken to the activation screens, and begun with the welcome one, choose language, choose location services (later on it also disappears) and selecting Wi-Fi and/or iTunes for activation.
I chose a Wi-Fi network the process started, and gave me a message that it will take about three minutes to activate iPhone, few minutes later a screen with this message appears: "Your iPhone could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable."
Then, I decided to try the activation using iTunes…
Using iTunes, after few minutes, it shows the following message: "We could not complete your iTunes Store request. The iTunes Store is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later."
I tried several times in both ways, trying 4 different Wi-Fi networks and 3 different computers in the whole process, and I was going desperate! I started to find out some info about this trouble over the Internet, and guess what? I was not alone! But I did not find any answer or solution either!
Finally, I joined Apple Support Communities, and started searching with no good luck at all, until I found (many hours later)  this old (2009) solution:
    +Do a DFU recovery:+
    +1. Open iTunes.+
    +2. Connect the iPhone+
+3 Press both the home and sleep/wake buttons until the Apple icon appears (ignore the red slider if it shows).+
+4. Continue pressing the home button alone until iTunes sees your phone in recovery mode.+
+5. Follow the prompts to restore the iPhone.+
(THANKS A LOT!!! modular747 and Easily Easy, you saved me!!!)
Then I suggest everyone to use this, of course it will erase everything, but you may be able to recover your data from your last backup, or you can also choose to configure iPhone as a new cell phone.
The process took me about 92 minutes, but it was worth it, now I own an unlocked iPhone 4S (it was an AT&T when I purchased from Apple Store in November) and is working perfectly!
Hope it is useful for all of you facing this trouble!
Good luck and enjoy your iPhone then!

I tried the process and was happy to note that there was some process that I managed to start because the process did start ...
However to my disappointment,  landed back at the same status which says
We're sorry, we are unable to continue with your activation at this time.
Please try again later, or contact customer care
I was using a GEVEY sim unlock with iOS 4.1 since (almost) last 2 yrs now in India on Vodafone. But as Apple designed it, there were several apps including Whatsapp, Facebook, Gmail and LinkedIn that stopped functioning due to the iOS updates and the subsequent (I guess 'mandatory' App updates). Finally yesterday I thought of updating to the iOS 6. As soon as I did that, I have been left with no choice but to see the above message.
The process by jhidrowoh starts corectly but iTunes doesnt give you the option of restore only ... it is forcefully clubbed with update and the button that is displayed in the dialog box that appears on pressing 'Restore' in teh recovery mode, shows 'Restore and Update' and as soon as the iPhone is restored, it automatically updates the iOS as well to iOS 6 and hence leaves you hanging in the stale situation.
Guys ... Need the data desperately ... Can anybody please help???

I am trying to update my Iphone 3 and when i get to the activation step after a few minutes it shows a message that says " Your iPhone could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable. Try conenecting your iPhone to iTunes to activate it, or try again in a couple of minutes.

I been trying for a few times now and I keep getting the same message. How can i fix it? now my phone doesnt work.

These are the steps mentioned in the article iPhone: Troubleshooting activation issues
Perform the following steps if you receive one of the messages above:
    Restart the iPhone.
Try another means of reaching the activation server and attempt to activate.
Try connecting to a known-good Wi-Fi network if you're unable to activate using a cellular data connection.
Try connecting to iTunes if you're unable to activate using Wi-Fi.
    Restore the iPhone.
If you receive an alert message when you attempt to activate your iPhone, try to place the iPhone in recovery mode and perform a restore. If you're still unable to complete the setup assistant due to an activation error, contact Apple for assistance.
