Event dates in event view have January as month

When I hover the cursor over an event a date is shown: DD Jan YYYY
The day and year are correct for when the picture was taken but the month is shown as Jan when looking at all the events on one page or screen. When viewing the photo the date/time stamps are correct. I am only seeing Jan when Events is selected and then only for certain events. I can't come up with a common denominator as to why certian events display the correct date when hovering the cursor over it, and other events show Jan.
How do I fix the Jan issue?
How do I ensure that Jan will not be added to my dates?
I checked to ensure I have the latest build of iPhoto 11

Tech support figured out my problem was in my MBP settings, specifically in my date/time settings.
System Prefs>Date & Time>Open Language and Text...>Region>Within the Dates section, select Customize
Here you will see all your date formats in 'bubbles'. I had 'Jan' typed in (When I first got my MBP, I was trying to set up a certain date format) Once I removed the 'Jan', my Album dates were all correct.

Over the last week my photos older than 7 Sep 14, in event view have become invisible, but can be seen when each event is opened. I have iPhoto version 9.5.1 does anyone know how to correct this? As it has meant the photos are also not available to email or see in Albums.

I have CS4

I have the same problem and so do at least a few others from the looks of a few similar posts dotted around the forums. It seems to be caused by an error on 64bit Windows trying to address 32bit DLLs, causing a conflict.
I have found a workaround on one of the Microsoft forums:

however, installing 3rd party software to hack the code of the Form Designer exe is the kind of thing that makes me nervous. And besides, this is something that Adobe should fix in an update...
For reference: I'm running an Intel Core i7 3GB RAM Vista Ultimate 64Bit OS. Microsoft SQL 2008 is not installed.

This error keeps cropping up now and again on most of our domain controllers (OS-2008 AND 2008R2)...Usually a restart fixes the issue however the issue repeats and security logs don't generate.
Any advice on how to fix this issue permanently would be greatly appreciated.

Events cannot have multiple exceptions for the same date

I just starting getting this message and could not sync to one of my Google calendars. I'm posting this for others who might get the same problem.
I didn't find the answer on these forums but did find it on this thread on Google:

I've been having the same problem with my iCal calendars and the "Events cannot have multiple exceptions for the same date" error. Once it gets going, it uses up a lot of the CPU and resources. After reinstalling iCal, all my calendars were missing and I could not even resubscribe to them.
I took my MacBook Pro to the Apple Store, and they were able to solve the problem by moving some of the iCal files from their existing folders out to the desktop, and reopening the program. That got it working, however, now I'm having the same problem again. So back to square one. Anyone else having this issue and know the cause?
My setup is my MacBook Pro uses Entourage, use that calendar in my iCal. And I subscribe to two calendars my wife publishes on her Macbook. We're both using Snow Leopard.

I am new to Mac and am wondering if I make an Album in iPhoto by moving similar events that have been dated into the album will they just merge or will the events move into the album and keep their date

I am new to the MacBook Pro and am wondering if I make an Album in iPhoto by using events that have titles and dates will I loose the titles and dates??I had hoped to combine my ie. 2010 Trip pictures Grandchildren pictures etc but do not want to lose the dating of them.
What advice does anyone out there have for a program to add text to the pictures. I have been using Paint Shop on my PC but want to switch totally to the MAC

1 - iPhoto is a database and there is a learning curve - it is all about photos and nothing about files - under teh help menu ==> iPhoto help watch the movies - that will help get you started more smoothly
2 - there never is a reason to go directly into the iPhoto library - do not do it (inclusing via the all images display in teh finder) - doing so can cause loss of data and photos
3 - preview or a third party editor can add text to photos
4 - events are very basic automatic automatic things and generallly it is best to leave them as buckets of photos and organize via albums and folders - and using keywords, faces and places and smart albums
5 - dates are part of the metadate stored in the EXIF fields of the photo - moving a photo will not affect that (but note that file managers like the finder do not look at the photo metadate - they look at teh file metadate which is seperate

My thumbnails have all disappeared. If I view events there is the same one for all 270 events and if I open an event I have clack thumbnails. I can only see the photo if I open it individually.

No. Quitefrankly I didn't know I could even use iPhoto on iPad, I just have the photos app that came on it. This is on my laptop. I don't particularly like iPhoto I use it essentially to take photos off my camera and store all the originals. I use Photoshop. To work on them and store them in Dropbox (don't get me started on iCloud!). As I said this is a problem that seemed to crop up overnight after backing up to my external HD.

Events show pictures in Events view but have no contents when opened

Hi. Using iPhoto 9.5.1 with Mavericks 10.9.1 with library storage on Mavericks Server. When I go to Events view (under Library on the upper left navigation panel) I see events and on each I can hover over and scroll through and see the pictures. When I double click to open the event, no photos show. When I go to Photos view I see the pictures.
Thoughts on what to do? Thanks.

Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.

Multiple Event Viewer Error Ids, Corrupt Catalogs, System not working right. Please help.

Since I could not find a list of the Event Ids that was accurate at all or not too general as to be useless and Microsoft won't let us know how to fix these ourselves without having a programming degree, I am begging for help from anyone who can help

Please provide a copy of your System Information file. Type System Information in the Search Box above the start Button and press the ENTER key
(alternative is Select Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, System Information). Select File, Export and give the file a name noting where it is located. The system creates a new System Information file each time system information is accessed.
You need to allow a minute or two for the file to be fully populated before exporting a copy. Please upload to your Sky Drive, share with everyone and post a link here. Please say if the report has been obtained in safe mode.

To access the System log select Start, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Event Viewer, from the list in the left side of the window select Windows
Logs and System. Place the cursor on System, select Action from the Menu and Save All Events as (the default evtx file type) and give the file a name. Do the same for the Applications log. Do not provide filtered files.

Some Event Viewer reports are generated solely because the computer is in safe mode or safe mode with networking. You have at least one example of this in your long list. If you do not see the same report for a time when
the computer was in normal mode then it can be disregarded.

Windows is Scanning and repairing drive... (- Errors in Event Viewer)

Long post, please be patient... :)
I have a fairly new (purchased 8/2013) Lenovo ThinkPad T431s with Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit (updated from 8.0 -> 8.1). It has a very tricky error coming basically 8 / 10 boots:
Windows is Scanning and repairing drive...
Error details from Windows Event Viewer (a new similar error appears on every boot to event viewer):
A corruption was discovered in the file system structure on volume \?\Volume{f62db2cf-efe4-4b55-a3f7-0e7db991a984}.
A file on the volume is no longer reachable from its parent directory. The parent file reference number is 0x2000000000002. The name of the parent directory is "". The parent index attribute is ":$I30:$INDEX_ALLOCATION". The file reference
number of the file that needs to be reconnected is 0x400000003db80. There may be additional files on the volume that also need to be reconnected to this parent directory.
What has been done 1st trying to fix that:
SSD disk has been changed (image from previous SSD copied back) ->
no solution, error remains
chkdsk /F /R -> no solution, error remains
SFC /scannow -> no solution, error remains
dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth -> no solution, error remains after a few boots
TRIED using Windows 8.1 "Update & Recovery -> Refresh Your PC without affecting your files" -> Inserted the Lenovo "Operating System Recovery Disk Windows 8 Pro (OEM Activation 3.0 Required)" BUT Windows did not accept
that DVD claiming "The media inserted is not valid"... ???
Ended up calling Lenovo Support and they instructed me to order the Recovery DVD from
Lenovorecovery.com -> Unfortunatelly Windows does not recognice the DVD(s)...

Step 1 If you have an MCS-7830 and build the OS with the new 2000.1.2 OS installation, run the OS upgrade version 2000.1.3 to fix the NIC card problem.
If this is not your problem, verify the following actions:
Step 2 Ensure that your WINS address is correct.
Step 3 Ensure that Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP is chosen.
Step 4 Ensure that the WINS address is correct on the master browser \\AACCM1.

Event viewer warning

Hi!
So, the problem started after I moved the BusinessObjects XI 3.1 server from hardware environment to a virtual environment.
This is the event log warning:
Unable to contact server EEEL132.WebApplicationContainerServer on machine eeel132 to perform status notification. Please check the server's system log for errors.
EEEl132 is the hostname of the server.
Event ID is 33017
Source BusinessObjects_CMS
Any idea how to remove the warning from the event viewer and fix the problem?

BI 4.1 Multiple Errors on Event Viewer

My client uses BI Platform 4.1 Support Pack 1 Patch 1. During the past 2 days, there have been several errors logged on the Event Viewer on the BO server. Now, the infoview platform is unresponsive and just hangs for all the users. On having a look at the Services in CMC, the WebI Processing Server status was "STARTING" though nobody had manually tried to stop/start it. So, when I checked the event viewer fr any further errors, there were several repetitive errors which were logged:

I tried to search on the forum, and i see suggestions stating that it could be related to network or connectivity. I'm not quite sure though.

Events View in iPhoto '08

When I go to the Events view in iPhoto '08 about half of my events groups do not show the key photos. Similarly, when you drag the mouse across the front of the event window in some instances no photos appear, in others only half appear and the rest do not. However, when double clicking on the event all photos show in the file. How can I fix this? Why does it do that? Thanks.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
The reason iPhoto won't let you select the Library is because it does not see a valid Library there. This means that your database has been damaged.
Try these in order - from best option on down...
1. Do you have an up-to-date back up? If so, try copy the library6.iphoto file from the back up to the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) allowing it to overwrite the damaged file.
2. Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums back.
3. If neither of these work then you'll need to create and populate a new library.
To create and populate a new library:
Note this will give you a working library with the same Events and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, calendars etc.
In the iPhoto Preferences -> Events Uncheck the box at 'Imported Items from the Finder'
Move the iPhoto Library to the desktop
Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
Go into the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Event Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library on your desktop.
In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.

I have installed and configured EPM-11.1.1.3 Hyperion Foundation, Essbase, Planning, Reporting & Analysis and ERP Integrator. The Configuration was successful without any error. Financial Management, Startegic Finance and Performance Scorecard are installed but not configured as it is not needed.
Now my Event viewer giving me the below error.. what could be the cause..?
