Event handling in view cluster

Hi,
I've two customized table setup with view clusters....so on navigating from one node to another i need to check for a value and make change to the visting node....so how to handle the data tht is changed in the view clsuter? i'm using the event code 09 but not sure on how to handle the data tht is changed and how to set the set for target node...any inputs pls?

there again...for those who are intrested used the event 10 to catch the value before change....

  • How to create EVENTS for a View Cluster.

    Hi Tech Gurus,
    I have created a view cluster on 5 tables. I need to do a validation and this can be done by using events. But i am unable to create a EVENT for the View Cluster. Could anyone please tell me how to create events for a View Cluster.
    Thanks in advance for your esteemed replies.

    Raghavendra Goutham P.

    Hello Pasapula
    When you are in the View Cluster maintenance dialog (SE54) click on dialog "Events".
    Below the field for the view cluster you have an additional field <b>FORM routines main program</b>. There you have to add the main program containing the FORM routines called by the VC events.
    For example: I had defined a normal report containing an include with all the FORM routines. The report contains only the following lines of coding:
    report zus_0120_u1.
    * Common Data und access routines for user exits in VC maintenance
    include LSVCMCOD.
    include  zus_0120_f1. "FORM routines for VC events
    Now in the "Events" dialog of the view cluster maintenance you assign your FORM routines to the events.

  • Query on view cluster event trigger during transport

    Hi SAP Gurus,
    I would just like to ask if the subroutines set in events for view clusters would also get triggered upon transport.
    We had created a function module which is meant to regenerate a dynamic program when changes are made to a particular table.  We're planning to call this function module in a subroutine that is called during an event in the view cluster (set to "before saving the data to database").  However, we would also like for this dynamic program to be regenerated automatically once the table changes are transported to the test/prod systems.  Thus, I wondered if setting up the event is sufficient, and that it would also be triggered automatically prior to saving the changes to the database during transport, or if we still need to set up XPRA for this.
    Thanks!

    Some events are triggered when exportingthe changed data,
    - 10 After creating the change request header entries (E071)
    - 11 After changing a key entry in the change request (E071K)
    - 12 After changing the key entries in the change request (E071K)
    which are suitable to add a XPRA entry in the request
    But many events (AFAIK those without dialog) are triggered during import (and we can check if the program is called via transaction or import via flag VIM_IMPORT_MODE_ACTIVE, eg. do not execute a form which fill hidden fields like created by and created at.)

  • Events in View cluster

    Hi .. i have a scenario where i created a view cluster with two tables/views.. so when i display data .. i dont want to see all the entries of my table.. i want to restrict data according to some conditions? how to do that? i have checked there are some events..but how to use it..i checked, but didnt get any help..i dont want to put events in my individual views, only in view cluster events? any ideas..

    Hi
    I don't think it can do it by event of the view cluster, but probably it cna't do it by event of the view of the single table.
    If you want to load all data in according to certain condition, you should create a table view and insert your condition there and so create the claster view based on this table view

  • Hiding a Maintenance View in a View Cluster

    Hello ABAP Experts,
    We have a scenario where we would like to hide a maintenance view to an existing view cluster based on condition.
    Is it possible via events of a view cluster, where i can hide the view at runtime based on some condition before the view cluster is displayed ?
    Is there any way as well, which help achieve this hiding of views ?
    For example in the below View Cluster, i would like to hide "Define object links" view from the main view cluster "Define document Types".
    Thanks,
    Naresh

    Hi Naresh,
    Yes, you can do it in events of a view cluster, define a subroutine and bounding it to event(02) in SE54,
    when you define the subroutine, it will ask you creat a mian program, in this main program, you need  'INCLUDE lsvcmcod'.
    Then you can access some standard data, http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/62/c302c7de8e11d1a5960000e82deaaa/frameset.htm
    INCLUDE lsvcmcod.
    FORM yourSubroutineName.
    DATA: viewname TYPE vclstruc-object,
            error_flag TYPE vcl_flag_type,
      viewname = 'ZTEST_VIEW1'.
    *  PERFORM vcl_set_table_access_for_obj USING    viewname
    *                                       CHANGING error_flag.
      ----> according your condition to change the view.
    IF xxx = yyy.
      DELETE vcl_struc_tab WHERE object = viewname.
    ENDIF.
    ENDFORM.

  • How to Call Event Handler Method in Another view

    Hi Experts,
                       Can anybody tell me how to call Event handler Method which is declared in View A ,it Should be Called in
      view B,Thanks in Advance.
    Thanks & Regards
    Santhosh

    hi,
    1)    You can make the method EH_ONSELECT as public and static and call this method in viewGS_CM/ADDDOC  using syntax
        impl class name of view GS_CM/DOCTREE=>EH_ONSELECT "method name.
                 or
    2)The view GS_CM/ADDDOC which contains EH_ONSELECT method has been already enhanced, so I can't execute such kind of operation one more time.
                         or
    3)If both views or viewarea containing that view are under same window , then you can get the instance ofGS_CM/DOCTREE from view GS_CM/ADDDOC  through the main window controller.
    lr_window = me->view_manager->get_window_controller( ).
        lv_viewname = 'GS_CM/DOCTREE '.
      lr_viewctrl ?=  lr_window ->get_subcontroller_by_viewname( lv_viewname ).
    Now you can access the method of view GS_CM/DOCTREE .
    Let me know in case you face any issues.

  • View not copied or enhanced with wizard Error while creating Event Handler method in Z Component

    Hello Friends,
    In one Z Component (Custom Component), in one of the views, while creating event handler, it gave me error message that view not copied or enhanced with wizard.
    I am aware that in Standard Component, if we want to create the event handler method then we need to first Enhance the Component and then we need to enhance the view.
    But, in the Z Component (Custom Component), how to create event handler method in one of the views as while creating event handler method i am getting view not copied or enhanced with wizard error.

    Hi,
    Add a method in views impl class with naming convention eh_on__* with htmt and html_ex parameters.  I dont have have the system right now. Please check any existing event import export parameters.
    Check out do handle event method in the same class.
    Redefine that method.  Call that event method in this handle method. See existing code for reference.
    Attach that event to the button on click event in .htm page.

  • MVC Best Practice (handling multiple views per action/event)

    Looking for the best approach for handling multiple views for one action/event class? Background: I have a small application using a basic MVC model, one controller servlet, multiple event classes, and multiple JSP views. For performance reasons, the controller Servlet is loaded once, and each event class is an instance within it. Each event has an eventProcess() and an eventForward() method called by the controller, standard stuff.
    However, because event classes should not use instance variables, how should I communicate which view to forward to should based upon eventProcess() logic (e.g. if error, error.jsp, if success, success.sjp)? Currently, there is only one view mapped per event, and I'm having to put error handling logic in the JSP, which goes against the JSP being for just view only.
    My though was 1) A session object/variable that the eventProcess() sets, and the eventForward() reads, or 2) Have eventProcess() return a mapping key and have the conroller lookup a view page based upon that key, as opposed to 1-1 event/view mapping.
    Would like your thoughts!
    Thanks

    Your solution seems ok to me, but maybe the Struts framework from Apache
    that implements MVC for JSP is a better solution for you:
    http://jakarta.apache.org/struts/index.html
    You should take a look at it. It has in addition some useful taglibs that makes life much easier.
    We have successfully used it in a project with about 50 pages.

  • Event in maintainance view not working in View cluster

    Hello All,
                I have created a view for a student table, which contains three fields. The third field should be automatically incremented, based on the entries in the first two fields. The functionality is working fine in the view created, as i have used the event01 in
    table maintainance generator->environment->events; with the codes for incrementing the third field automatically.
               After getting this functionality working, i have created a view cluster with the particular view also.
    The problem now is that, when i try to enter values to the table via view in the view cluster, the same event is not functioning for auto-incrementing. While saving the entries, the third field is remaining blank.
    The internal table 'total' which i am using in the view is displaying the table entries in the view created, but the same table is showing null value in the view cluster.
    Can anybody guide me in this?
    Thanks in Advance,
    Shino.

    Hi Shino,
    Let`s say you have a table ZTEST_TABLE1. You create a maintenance view on it ZTEST_VIEW1. You generate the maintenance dialog for the view with Function Group ZTEST_FUGR1. After this you will be able to maintain the table from SM30 using view ZTEST_VIEW1.
    You create view cluster ZTEST_CLUSTER1 and include your view ZTEST_VIEW1 in it. After this you can maintain the table from the view cluster as well. You then create a subroutine pool for the event routines like ZTEST_PROG1. In this program you include the program I mentioned: INCLUDE lsvcmcod.
    Now you create the event 04 - Before saving the data in the database. You specify the routine name eg BEFORE_SAVE and assign the subroutine pool as the main program. There you create the FORM. Example code below.
    I suggest to check the SAP Library, there you`ll find more details as well.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/62/c302c7de8e11d1a5960000e82deaaa/frameset.htm

  • Capture comp controller event n enhancement view - handler not triggered

    Hi,
    Enhanced a std WDA component through the enhancement framework.  Added a view in the enhancement.  This view will be a popup requesting user supplies more details.
    Ive enhanced a std component controller method to fire off a component controller event.  Ive also created an event handler method in the new view and associated with the component controller event.
    Unfortunately the new view method doesnt trigger.  If I add an event handler method to one of the std views through the enhancement framework it does trigger.
    Grateful for any solution/info, cheers!

    Hey,
    Std view A is the active view when the firing of the event occurs within the component controller.  Enhancement view Z is where the event handler method is defined.Defining an event handler method in active view A will be triggered upon component controller event firing, but not event handler method in view Z.  Handling within event view Z (not active/displayed) beyond the realms of WDA eventing?

  • Sorting event on view cluster possible?

    Hi,
    Can anyone please tell me if it is possible to create a event for view cluster for sorting on a non key field of one of the underlying maintenence views.
    Thanks..

  • Error while saving a Entry through view cluster ( getting TK 319 message)

    We are  facing an issue while saving the entry in one of the view at the lowest level of the three level View cluster.
    Please find the Details of view Cluster below.
    1)First level- Key  => MANDT( CLNT, 3) + RULE_ID( CHAR , 20) .
    2)Second level-Key =>MANDT( CLNT, 3) + RULE_ID( CHAR , 20) + LOCATION_TYPE (CHAR , 20) + START_DATE( DATS ,8).
    3)Third level (Lowest level  )-key => MANDT( CLNT, 3) + RULE_ID( CHAR , 20) + LOCATION_TYPE (CHAR , 20) + MEAL_RULE_TYPE( INT1 ,3) +  START_DATE( DATS ,8) .
    we are not able to save the Entry at the Third level  and is getting the  Message "Fill table key for table ITC_CALCRULE_ML only up to position 044 only " .
    As per our understanding problem is that " the transport interface is called with a incorrect object key for table ITC_CALCRULE_ML  "  . we thaught of either reduce the width of the key or if we want
    to define also  the date, by  changing the order of MEAL_RULE_TYPE and START_DATE .Also we could use a CHAR1 instead of the INT1 for the MEAL_RULE_TYPE.
    After analyzing  this  we came to a conclusion that we have two solutions for solving it.
    1) Database Design Change : Which is generally not preferable.
    2) Apply the Event  12  ( After changing the key entries for the change task (E071K) ) on the view and in its code we reduce the Object key width for the Transport Organizer  and
        would be able to save the entry in the database  and would be able to transport the entries to our Q-system.

    Hi. Were you able to fix the error?

  • Sorting of a field in view cluster

    Hi All,
    Is there any way to sort a field in main screen of view cluster.
    SE54->Edit view cluster->Test.  I want to sort a field in main screen, after pressing test.
    Is there any event for this?
    I know the events which get called after pressing test, but tables TOTAL and EXTRACT are blank in these events so I can't sort them.
    Pointers will be highly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Seema

    hi
    In your method there would be a parameter ie ON_TOGGLE where you can write the name of your event .
    Whenever your checkbox will be clicked that event wil be called.
    You can write your code in that event itself.

  • How to create wizard for a custom mainenance view/view cluster

    Hi Experts,
    I have created 5 custom maintenance view and have maintained all the views sequencially and have made the first mainenance view as the start view & header entry and all other views are child or subview of the header view in a custom view cluster. But I want a wizard to help the user / end user successfully enter all the required values for all child views, it will help  the user to navigate  from the start view to all the child views where the fields of the wizard will be associated to the child maintenance views.
    Please suggest how to create wizard for view cluster.
    I'll give max reward point for the helpful answer.

  • Event Handler/Create User Event bug

    This is a problem I've run into a few times on my system (Win2k) so I finally went back and reproduced it step by step since it wasn't too hard. It causes LabVIEW to crash and exit without saving.
    - Create an Event Handler
    - Place 'Register Events', wire output to dynamic event terminal
    - Place 'Create User Event', wire output to 'Register Events'/User Event
    - Place an Empty String Constant [""], wire to input of 'Create User Event'
    - Set empty string property -> Visible Items > Label = True
    - Rename label from "Empty String Constant" to other such as "Event"
    OR
    - Create a cluster constant with something in it
    OR
    - Place a boolean constant
    - Set boolean property -> Visible Items > Label = True
    - Name label something su
    ch as "Event"
    - 'Add Event Case...' to the Event Handler, select Dynamic / : User Event
    - Delete the constant wired to 'Create User Event'.
    - Place a constant of a different data type and wire it to the input of 'Create User Event'
    LabVIEW immediately disappears (all changes are lost) and this error is displayed:
    ================================
    LabVIEW.exe has generated errors and will be closed by
    Windows. You wlil need to restart the program.
    An error log is being created.

    Thanks for the detailed request. We are aware of this exact issue, and the problem was actually fixed for LabVIEW 7.0 for Mac/Unix. Unfortunately, it did not get fixed for the initial release of LabVIEW 7.0 for Windows, but we have plans to include the fix in the first LabVIEW patch for 7.0.
    Also, the Discussion Forum is great for notifications of this kind. For future reference, you also have the options of emailing NI engineers directly, or calling us with suspected bug fixes, if you would like more direct communication.
