Event ID 219 - driver fails to load
I have the following error each time I restart my Dell Optiplex 780, Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit. Event ID 219
The driver\Driver\WUPDFR failed to load for the device WpdBusEnumRoot\UMB\2&37c186b8&STORAGE#VOLUME#_??_USBSTORE#DISK&VEN_DELL&PROD_USB_MASS_STORAGE&REV_200#7&3B0D4174&08&HW6y6Q1&0#.
The bold and underlined portion of this long string is the Service Tag # of my Dell V313w Printer. I have completely removed the software, using the Control Panel/Applications and Features/Uninstall. I then downloaded the latest printer package from Dell for
Win7 64-bit for my product. I installed it and I still get the same error(s), each time I restart my PC.
Any thoughts, suggestions or solutions to this perplexing problem? BTW - everything seems to work just fine, but my event log is getting clogged with this persistant error.
Sincerely,
Doug Shreve

USB CDC-ECM driver failed to load on 10.5 & 10.6
Hi,
I'm using a device with ECM.
On 10.7 and up the AppleUSBCDCECM driver loads automatically and I have tethering.
But on 10.5 & 10.6 the driver fails to load and the tetheing doesn't work.
Someone have an idea?
Thanks,
YanivHmmm, in 10.5.8 PPC Mac I have version 3.2.13 of /System/Library/Extensions/IOUSBFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleUSBCDCECMData .kext
And the same version of /System/Library/Extensions/IOUSBFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleUSBCDCECMCont rol.kext
Is that what you have in 10.5?
Open console in Applications>Utilities, check the system log for the date/time of the last problem & the Startup right after that for clues. -
HP1102 Driver failed to load and printer not recognized by Win8.1
Dear All,
I have very weird problem and for the last 3-4 days I couldn't succeed to find any tangible solution to that which cause me to pull my hairs. I have bought a HP LaserJet 1102 printer and have new laptop which stubbornly denies the installation of printer into the printer category, original smart isntaller always fails . It constantly getting installed as unknown device, but the name in device manager is correct under the unknown devices ( "HP LaserJet P1102").
I followed the http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=tr&lc=tr&dlc=tr&docname=c03327635 instructions
wihtout sucess, printer is really not recognized by OS Win8.1. Runing the HP Print and Scan Doctor retrieves that printer is connected but the diver is not installed. So what am I supposed to do to solve that problem.
Your guidance will be appreciated,
Regards,Hi @HP1102_User,
I see that you are having issues setting up the printer on Windows 8. The driver won't load and the printer isn't being recognized properly when running the Smart Install. I will certainly do my best to help you.
Is this printer the Laserjet P1102 or the Laserjet P1102w? How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
Make sure the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet and the USB cable is connected directly to the computer. The USB cable shouldn't be longer then 6 feet. Try another USB port on the computer. You might have to try another USB cable to see if that is causing this issue.
Check the USB port on the Laptop, to see if it is a 2.0 or 3.0 port.
How to determine whether a USB 3.0 device is operating at SuperSpeed?
Try and update the driver from the Device Manager in Solution two: Software troubleshooting.
'Device setup failed to complete' or 'Unknown device' Message Displays in Windows during USB Install...
You can follow this document for either printer model.
Windows 8 steps: Click the Windows Key + X to open the Start Menu. Select Device Manager from the Start Menu. (if you are still having issue go back to the beginning of the document)
Then check the power management settings also in the Device Manager.
Select universal serial bus controllers from the list, for each USB root hub, right click and left click on properties, for power management remove the check mark for "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power". It allows computer to limit or turn off power for this device.
If you are still having issues, download and try to install the newest drivers for the printer.
Delete the printer from the Device Manager and disconnect the USB cable first.
Temporarily turn off any Antivirus Software, to make sure it doesn't interfere with the install.

Soundbooth CS3: Audio driver fails to load on MacBook
On both my MacBooks (white and one-piece aluminium), I get the following alert when I launch Soundbooth CS3:
The audio driver has either failed to load or the device is no longer
connected. Please re-load the driver or connect the device and try again.
[ OK ]
I am also unable to record any sound. If I click OK in the above alert, then click on the red record button at the bottom of the window, I get a dialog which allows me to choose input:
* System Default Input
* Built-in input
* Built-in microphone
Regardless of which of these I select, the red record button has no effect.
I do not have this problem on an older iMac.
A search for the key words in the alert on Adobe's support system comes up blank.
Has anyone else encountered this, and has anyone been able to fix it?
Thanks in advance.I have not done any recording or messed with an input. I have only done editing of existing sound files. I tried holding shift at startup as well as deleting the library 1.0 folder. Still getting the prompt when the app starts. Then it crashes. Here is the report that is generated:

Fingerprint driver fails to load with a new X240 and Windows 7 64bit
"Validity sensor (WBF) (PID=0017)" appears with a yellow exclamation mark. system doesn't recognize the sensor, after driver is installed. enabled in Bios. newest bios updated.
newest drivres used from lenovo support website. reinstalled and installed ten times.
FULL and complete MSinfo here: http://wikisend.com/download/533912/x240.nfo
please help.
ready to help in debug.I could not find any problem. I started with X240 and did clean install of Win7 64-bit. I installed ethernet driver, started Windows Update and installed all available updates. Then I installed ThinkVantage System Update and installed all available updates. Fingerprint works fine. I think there must be some problem with your OS image. Is it Lenovo factory Win7 preload or something else?

Nvidia driver fails to load with NV GT-220 graphics card
I am using 2.6.33-ARCH of May 13th, I installed a Nvidia GT-220 graphics card over my onboard 6100,
it was using nouveau, i tried to upgrade to using the nvidia driver but find now that i am not able to
modprobe -i nvidia i get Fatal: Error inserting nvidia (/lib/modules/2.6.33-ARCH/kernel/drivers/video/nvideo.ko
modinfo nvidia shows it in the above location.
startx gives me: cannot execute binary file.
even after !nouveau in MODULES /etc/rc.conf it shows up with lsmod |grep nouveauI installed the nvidia drivers with: sudo pacman -S nvidia nvidia-utils
I seem to of gotten more than one problem with my attemps at resolving this. The issue with nvidia module has been resolved by reinstalling the previous kernel26 2.6.31.3-1 it apparently doesnt have nouveau. and lsmod |grep nouveau gives null reply so its gone...
I used sudo nvidia-xconfig and it completed as expected and wrote a new xorg.conf but i am still getting
cannot execute binary file when i try using startx.
startx gives me: cannot execute binary file. additionally using: sudo X -configure gives the same error.
the versions of nvidia are under question: I have nvidia 195.36.15-2 and nvidia-utils 195.36.15-1
I am not sure if different minors are a problem, just noting the difference. -
Intel HD3000 graphics and sound drivers fail to load on Server 2008
I managed to install Windows Server 2008 x64 on a separate partition without Boot Camp, but I'm having issues with my drivers. Windows 7 drivers are compatible with Server 2008 in most cases. Since Boot Camp doesn't support Server editions I attempted to install the drivers myself, but I keep getting error 39 on my HD3000 graphics drivers. Went through multiple reboots, rollbacks, and driver reinstalls using both the official drivers and the Boot Camp drivers.
Is there a way to modify the Boot Camp driver install package to bypass the Windows 7 requirement? I tried to manually install the drivers from the Boot Camp folders (tried several variations of them as well) but I'm still not getting proper sound, graphics, or wifi. All my services are properly configured to enable them, and the device manager shows driver failed to load errors.
If people are able to get Windows 7 drivers installed that means there needs to be a way to do this with Server 2008 (not R2).
I need this to run natively, not virtualized.
Seems to me the easiest way to fix this would be to bypass the desktop-only limitations of Boot Camp, but I'm guessing there's no easy work around.
. Why the restrictions?
I'm running a MacBook Pro 8.1 (late 2011 release).
I tried using test mode but that failed to fix what I thought might be a driver signing issue.IIRC, Apple doesn't expose the Intel embedded GPU to WIndows, only the discreet GPU. If my memory is correct, that would explain why you can't install the drivers for hardware that WIndows doesn't see.

Boot-Up Problems, fail to load utilities
Booting up my K8N Neo2 Platinum i often get error messages which seem to indicate that something (BIOS?) is misreading my board and not loading utilities and thinking the utilities don't go with the board. The error messages are
The service has not been started
Failed to load Hardware Monitor driver
Failed to load driver
No hardware monitor
Core Center does not support your motherboard (which of course it DOES support my mobo)
Then every once in a while everything loads like clockwork. I don't understand what's going wrong and would love to fix it. I think the Audigy card can have some compatibility problems with some processes/components - could that be it?
I have an AMD 64 3400+
2 512 sticks of Corsair memory
Audigy 2 ZS sound card
Plextor 716A CD-DVD drive
ATI Radeon 9600XT graphics card 256 (Diamond Viper)
Win XP Pro SP2
Thanks for any advice and experience anyone may have to offer
Miklplease See this.

then give a try and update the driver of the Audigy (12/05/05).

[SOLVED] XOrg fails to load Nvidia driver on startup
Hi,
I'm having a fairly strange issue where XOrg is failing to load my driver when I start up my laptop. I'm using kdm, but this is causing it to fail. However, doing a simple
$sudo systemctl restart kdm
works, and everything starts up fine. When kdm is in the failed state, I see this:
$sudo systemctl status kdm
● kdm.service - K Display Manager

And in my XOrg log, I see:

Last edited by straemer (2014-12-20 13:03:58)Hmmmm, that doesn't seem to be the issue. I have a nvidia geforce gtx 670mx. The nvidia website does link me to the 340xx driver for that card, but downgrading to that version still has the same issue. I suspect the issue is in Xorg, since it seems to load the module, but then decides it doesn't have a driver to run for some reason.

HTTP.SYS fails to load after ProLiant NIC driver update on Server 2008 R2
Hi team,
This has been driving me crazy for a week and I can't find any reference to solving the problem in Technet or any forums...
I have a ProLiant ML350G5 server that I installed Server 2008 R2 on and migrated all my domain AD, DNS, File Services, Shares and files from SBS2003 (end of life, so let's take that out of the network) - Exchange and SharePoint were not being used so Standard
server 2008 was the choice seeing that the server hardware is 4 years old...
Everything went well, migration was successful, AD was primary and active.
Then (stupidly) I decided I'd better install all the updated drivers and management software from HP. The NIC is showing as an HP NC373i which is a Broadcom BCM5708C. I updated the FLASH in that card (HP utility) and updated the driver to the latest version
7.8.52.0 along with a bunch of other updates all handled by HP's Support Solutions Framework (msi).
After the reboot required, I noticed that the Print Spooler (set to Automatic) didn't start, neither did IIS or Web Services...
Trying to manually start them gives the error that a dependency failed. Now Print Spooler only uses HTTP (no longer a "service" but integrated into the kernel for multiple http connections on the same port and controlled using netsh http command
prompt...) DCOM and RPC. The last 2 are running, so that leaves HTTP as the culprit.
The Event Log shows that HTTP failed to load as "the services cannot be started. Either because it is disabled or because
it has no enabled devices associated with it"
From an administrator cmd prompt, net start http gives the same failure error.
netsh http show servicestate returns "The handle is invalid" - it's not seeing http at all...
OK. If you've read this far, thank you - keep going...
Here's my thinking... Updating the NIC driver has "broken" the association with HTTP.SYS - How to I get that association back?
I uninstalled anything http related, IIS, BITS, Web, Printing Services. Reboot after reboot and still no HTTP. I deleted http.sys from \windows\system32\drivers and did sfc to get windows to give me a clean one. Reboot, still doesn't load so it's not a damaged
http.sys.
I uninstalled EVERYTHING ProLiant, uninstalled the NIC, deleted the bxnd60a.sys driver so Windows would use it's own, rebooted, let it load NIC drivers, set the IP's up again, reboot - still no http.sys loading...
I've tried older versions of drivers from Broadcom, the latest version of drivers, still in the same hole...
Does anyone know how I can get HTTP.SYS to associate with the NIC? Can I do anything in the registry to achieve this? Do I have to do a System State Backup (is that the only way to preserve the AD and DNS?) scrub the server and start from scratch and then
restore the System State to get my AD and DNS back? If I do that will it bring the http.sys fault back?
I'm really at a loss - please, someone, please help...Hi team,

E72 - The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device ROOT\SYSTEM\0001
I have a problem with my ThinkCentre E72 (Windows 8).
Suddenly, it shuts down with "shut-down" screen. Later, in my Event Viewer, I found the following System Warning:
"The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device ROOT\SYSTEM\0001" where the source of problem is Kernel-PnP.
Only thing that is plugged in my computer is mouse, keyboard and monitor.
Many thanks,
MatijaHi,
PNP0A0A is not a default pnp ID, you need go to the manufacturer websites to find the ACPI driver, download and install it.

IMovie -Problem restoring events after external hard drive failed.
iMovie 09 – The external hard drive failed where I stored my 2012 events. I do not have a backup copy of these events. I bought a new external drive and named it exactly the same as the old drive. Then I uploaded archived original video clips to it recreating the events. I used the exact same event names. However when I view the projects I made from the original events, I get “this clip’s media file is not currently available”. The file path I created should be the same as the old, so why does the project not recognize the recreated events? Any suggestions what I could try?
If I were able to retrieve and copy the old events from the failed drive to the new drive, would that work?
Has anyone successfully dealt with this problem? That's a very interesting scenario that you've described. I've been concerned about a potential situation arising where I may need to restore Events from a backup drive. However, your situation is somewhat different in that you've had to re-import the Events to a new drive from an archive.
My main video drive is a Maxtor One Touch III Turbo comprising two 500GB drives set up as a RAID 0. So, effectively it appears as one drive totalling 1TB, with data being written to both drives simultaneously (but not mirrored). However, if one drive fails, the other becomes ineffective as it contains only partial data about imported clips (the remaining data being on the failed drive).
I backup the Maxtor to a portable 1TB drive by cloning it using SuperDuper. My thinking has been that, if the Maxtor fails then a simple rename of the backup drive to the same name as the Maxtor is all that will be required for iMovie to retain the linkages between Events and Projects. I hope this is the case!
I hope you get a solution to your predicament - sorry I can't offer any useful advice!

Hi Apple Ppl of the Wrld: I need help I been working on installing windows 8 on my Mac.
Spec of equipment:
Mac Book Pro Mid 2012
Bootcamp Version: Version 5.0.4 (473)
Bootable USB Flash Drive: Type Scan disk 4 GB windows 8 pro iso image but without the driver and the 2nd Scan disk USB flash drive with 32 GB with the Bootcamp Drivers downloaded and saved to this drive.
Please Note: I also have the original back up installation disc for Microsoft 8 Prof 64 from Microsoft where I purchased it from.
1st Bootcamp is not recognizing the Original Microsoft 8 Pro backup disk from microsoft itself.
Solution: I created the New Image from the Original Microsoft installed disc in my desk top and changed the extension to .ISO then burned the ISO image into the newly purchased DVD+R. Then I ran Bootcamp Once again and it get the following error message "The installer disc could not be found -- Insert your Windows installer disc and wait a few seconds for the disc to be recognized. Solution
2: Created a bootable usb drive with bootcamp assistant successfully with bootcamp. Yes I close, ejected or un-mounted any image that was open or had been previously used then i restarted the Mac. Next, I start the bootcamp assistant tool once again then i get the same insert your windows installer disc message.
3: Then I try to resolve the installer disc not found issue: this are the steps i took: a). Lauch disc utilities
1. Selected the top most drive 750 GB Macintosh HDD
2. On the right you’ll see 5 tab buttons: First Aid | Erase | Partition | RAID | Restore.
3. Choose Partition. Then I clicked + to add another partition size of the partition was 222 GB
4. Change the Name of the Partition to BOOTCAMP
5. Change the Format to MS-DOS (FAT)
6. Click Apply to save the changes and then reboot your Mac and we’ll begin Windows installation.
7. During reboot, press and hold the alt/Option key and you’ll be presented with drives to boot from.
8. Use the arrow keys and return button to select the Windows yellow USB key drive containing your Windows 8 installation files.
9. This will begin the Windows install. --> then i get the following message: "Booting from Boot Camp Assistant created USB Drive...Failed to load BOOTMGR".
4: Take the Mac to best buy and let them resolve the issue and charge me like a million dollars for it :'( since i have no other idea who to get this bootcamp working at all. This has been a terribly lengthy issue and it is not as simple as it is claimed to be since i started with the Original Windows Disc Purchased from Microsoft and I have the Optical disc drive which it should be simpler from what I understand.
Please can you help It would be of great help.
<Email Edited by Host>from what i understand you are trying to install win 8 pro from a "backup disk" the one that you purchased from microsoft.
this will not work, it is not an installer disk.
you need to start the process again. erase the partition you made on your hdd. in disc utility click the minus button after selecting the bootcamp partition, then manually drag the divider down fully then apply.
next, erase your usb then format it.
download win 8 iso from here;
http://getintopc.com/softwares/operating-systems/download-windows-8-pro/
it is perfectly legal to use your purchased product key in this install.
in bootcamp select the iso image you just downloaded, select your preferred partition size, check all 3 options.
you have the support software on another usb but you wont need it so it can be discarded. the install will work far better with the iso and support on the same drive.
