Event invites from Mail appearing in Calendar as "Maybe" but not showing in Calendar inbox

Hello everyone,
I'm actually new to using invites and Calendar on iPhone, so maybe it's something I'm missing.  But when I receive an invitation for an event that was created and sent from another iPhone using Calendar, I am not easily finding the option to "Accept" or "Deny".
The calendar source is a CalDAV server, and all systems are functioning 100% as expected on that end.  The calendars are accessible and editable by any device, so I'm pretty sure the issue isn't here.
I would expect the "mime-attachment.ics" received in the email to allow me to reply from that source, or to at least find the invite automatically listed in my Calendar "Inbox".  Neither is the case.  However, if I go and find the event in the calendar itself, it's sitting there with "hash" marks through the event until I go in and "Accept" or "Deny".  At this point, it shows up in my Calendar inbox under the "Replied" section.  So, it's definitely making it into my calendar.
Should it not automatically show up in my Calendar inbox under the "New" section from the beginning?  Or what about being able to "Accept" or "Deny" straight through Mail?  Hopefully I'm not goofin' up here -- but I sure am stumped.
Thanks for any help.

Eustace, sadly this did not work. It's a full week and I had to keep using Thunderbird to check that I'm not missing any mail. I don't get it, some comes in, some gets left out.
Today I tired Eric Root's reindexing solution and that did not do anything either.
I saw mail bringing in 188 messages and NOTHING new showed up. It did in T-bird because it was all the past week's mail
Thunderbird *****. It doesn't even pay attention to rules I set up in it. I want my Apple mail back!
Can I try to reinstall the mail app from my disks without having to delete the mail app entirely? Will the new files overwrite the old ones and 'freshen' it up (so to speak) and fix this communicaiton issue?

  • ICal.app doesn't grab events/invitations from Mail.app

    Morning.
My colleagues are using MS Outlook and send me invitations. I receive their emails with ICS attachments. In iCal.app I've activated »Preferences > Advanced > Automatically request invitations from Mail.app«. (I use a German GUI, therefore I do not exactly the terminology on an English GUI.)
But iCal.app does not grab and display such invitations.
What's wrong? What can I do to solve this serious problem?
    TIA and kind regards, Friedrich

In fact the feed is at http://bongqiuqiu.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default
The oldest post in the feed is November 10, and Mail is showing back as far as that - a total of 25 posts.
There may be older posts on the website, but many blog creation services limit the number of entries shown in the feed, moving older ones to an archive page and out of the page once that limit is reached. I don't know about Blogger, but I would assume that this is the case with this feed. You can expect the November 10 entry to disappear once a new one is added.

  • Sync Work calendar to MobileMe but not my personal Calendar

I would like to sync my work calendar to my bosses MobileMe account and sync with her work calendar but not sync my personal calendar. Can I do this? I can log in to her account from System Prefs but I don't seem to be able to select which calendars to sync. Thanks.

    Hi,
The short answer is: you cannot choose which calendars you want to sync with MobileMe.
Now, the longer answer: there might still be ways to achieve your goals other than syncing with MobileMe.
If you don't need to make changes to your boss' work calendar, and she doesn't need to make changes to yours, you should just publish your respective calendars, and subscribe to each other's calendar.
Otherwise, if you need to make changes to each other's calendar, you might want to look into the CalDAV support in iCal.
    Hope this helps

  • My mac mail inbox is acting funny.  I receive an email from today and the window shows me an email from a different person and topic from 2011.  How can I fix this?  The mail appears correctly on my phone but not on my computer.

I receive an email from today March 13, 2013, but my inbox displays an email from a different person on a different topic received in 2011.  It seems like some type of corruption but I don't know how best to fix it.

Hi.  I checked on the order and it says the order is currently being processed and I should check back tomorrow. I'm mostly just concerned because I got an email saying the order was on hold, and I want to make sure it actually does go through and I'm not just waiting for a delivery that's not going to come. I'm still confused as to why I'd get an email saying I had to call the fraud department only to be told I shouldn't have called the fraud department.

  • Have downloaded my library from a portable hard drive to itunes but not showing in library on home site please help windows 8

trying to download music from portable harddrive and wont go to I tunes library saving as I tunes link.  working on windows 8..... Please help

I'm not sure if iTunes will like to run those files if they're on an external drive. Honestly I've never tried. Have you tried dragging a few songs, maybe an album, into your 'music' part of your drive, then try to import them into iTunes?
I moved computers a couple of months ago and that's waht I did, saved my music to a portable drive, then dragged it back onto my C drive and into the music folder, then imported it into iTunes.

  • Why do Outlook calendar invites appear on my iPod touch calendar but not my icloud calendar

Why do Outlook calendar invites appear on my iPod touch calendar but not my iCloud calendar? I use Outlook at work and if I want to add events to the calendar on my iPod Touch which I use as a PDA I simply create the event in outlook select my gmail email address and invite myself. The event appears on my iPod Touch...all well and good...now with the advent of iCloud I would like to see all events on my iPod calendar on the iCloud calendar that I view on my PC. At the moment only events that I have added directly onto the iPod calendar appear on the iCloud calendar.
I have messed around abit syncing and unsyncing, Turning the Calendar on and off in the iCloud setting on the device but nothing is really working. Any easy to follow suggestions or is it a trip to the geniuses in order?

Not sure why you'd want to alter an artist name anyway but...
In iTunes, right-click selected track and click "Get Info" then edit the artist field and possibly the album artist too (edit as in... make sure they have a value (the correct artist name)). Delete the faulty track on your iPod and then re-upload the new one.
Another thing is that if you left the music player open on your iPod when you add the new track, sometimes I find that it doesnt find any of the new songs you add until you close and then re-open the app on the iPod.

  • Lotus Notes (Domino) Meeting Invitations from Mail to iCal

I use an iMac at work and a MacBook Pro at home. They recently switched to a Notes-based calendar program at work, and since I don't have the Notes client installed on either machine (someone from our IT department has spent about four hours trying to install it on the iMac with no success) and the web application only works with IE 6, and there is no provision for synching the calendar with my PDA, when I heard that the e-mail meeting invitations could be imported into iCal, I was all over that.
When I opened iCal on the iMac I found that there was a "Work" calendar, and iCal's "Automatically retrieve invitations from Mail" box was checked, there were no entries in the Work calendar--or any other calendar.
When I initially looked into it, I found several threads (e.g. http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=5186410) in the iCal forum about time zones not being imported correctly (I wish my problems were that minor!) from Lotus Notes meeting invitations. But these threads showed vCal messages and mentioned error dialogs. I hadn't seen any dialogs, and my meting invitations are just plain text messages like this:
    ======================

So I just assumed I was foiled again because the messages were not in the right format.
Later I happened to open my MacBook Pro, and, much to my surprise, I found that a small number of meetings had actually found their way into iCal, and in at least one case I know of, one has actually been rescheduled! I could hardly contain myself.
At first I thought the small number of meetings was simply due to the fact that I receive most of my work e-mail at work, on the iMac, so only those meeting invitations that I happened to open for the first time on my MacBook Pro had been imported. However, this turned out not to be the case, as I have observed many cases in which I have received new, unread meeting invitations on my MacBook Pro which have not been entered in iCal.
But what's really got me is that this whole process is so inaccessible! You'd think there would be preferences where you could tell Mail what kind of invitations to look for and tell iCal which calendar to put them in. But no. There's just one checkbox to turn the process on or off. You just check it and cross your fingers.
Just to deepen the mystery a little bit, I do know of one other Mac user who says his invitations are being reliably entered into iCal, and he can even reply to them. When I asked him for details he told me he just turned it on and it worked.
Is there anyone out there who can at least shed a little light on what I've observed, if not help me get this process working at least quasi-reliably? Is this process working for anybody else out there?

  • Meeting invitations from Mail not making it to iCal

I haven't been able to have meeting requests automatically transfer over to iCal.
I have my Mail settings set to automatically send meeting invites to iCal, and most invitations come from people that are present in my address book.
I've been on hold with Apple Care for over an hour, and haven't had any luck other than being asked to check the settings above.
Any help you can provide would be much appreciated.

  • Event Creation from Mail is no longer working

Hello, today I have been trying to create new ical events directly from Mail. This used to work fine and was very useful.
Now I get the popup and fill in all the event details but it won't save. I can Cancel but hitting the create/save button does nothing.
The only change I can think of is my recent downloading of the Google Dav syncing tool. Are there known bugs associated with that and creating events from the mail client?
    Thanks

You can set up a Mail Rule (in Preferences) that moves specified addresses to Junk or Trash

  • Not receiving email notifications of iCal event invitations from other parties.

I am not receiving emails for iCal event invitations from other parties, but the invitations ARE in my iCal Inbox. I don't use iCal often, so I never proactively go in to check my Inbox there, but rather have always depended on receiving the email notification of an event invite to know to add it to my iCal. I can SEND invitations to others successfully with other parties receiving MY email notifications, I'm just not receiving them via email.
I've now missed two very important meetings because I never received the email invitations to add an event, which were the only forms of correspondence for both. Can anyone help me? Thank you!

  • I can send event invitations from ical but can not receive them --invites go to another family member email

I am using Lion and everything was working fine -- until I got a new mac and set the older one up for my husband and put his user account on the old mac.
Now I can send ical invitations out and can get replies -- but if someone else originiates an invitation to me -- I don't get the invite on my new mac.  My husband gets it on the older mac I set up for him in his Ical.  We have totally different emails and when I click on the email name in the invite it is addressed to me and my email address but it comes on my husband's ical.
    I can't figure it out???
If I originate the event invite I have no problem getting the replies -- but when someone else originates the invite -- it comes on my husband's ical (with my name and email address)
Please help -- this is driving me crazy!!

Hello. Did you ever find a solution to this issue? I'm having the same one. My wife's iCal invitations are showing up in my iCal "Inbox" but are not coming to me via email. I discovered this while troubleshooting the issue just now...and saw that I had 10+ iCal invites for which I never received email notifications.
I never proactively check iCal, so definitely need to resolve this issue, as receiving emailed invitations is the only way they're filed into my iCal. Thanks for any insight!

    GACU,
OK, now I think I understand your problem.
If it is your calendar that is being shared with other users who have been granted editing priviliges, you will not be able to exclude those events from printing.
