Event names sitting over the preview image...

I have been putting all my photos into iPhoto 8 on my new i-mac.
It is all working fine but the event names are now appearing over the top of the preview image for that event, rather than underneath.
Does anyone know why this might be happening and what I can do to sort it out?

Have you been turning on or off any Fonts?
Use Font Book to ensure that the
Helvetica
Helvetica Neue
fonts are enabled. Then restart your Machine.
If that fails:
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the apple and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.

Can you change the size of the preview images on an Apple TV without changing video resolution?

I have a 32 inch LCD TV. My room is relatively large and I can't easily see the preview images or read the text on the TV across the room. Is it possible to change the size of preview images in the menu screens without increasing the resolution of the TV itself? I think this should be possible, but can't seem to find a way to do it.

No that's not something you can do on the Apple TV.

In iphoto, when I click on Print, the preview image it shows me is an enlarged section of my photo. I cropped the photo and checked with no restraints. Once the photo goes to Print, I can't fix it back to the way it is in iphoto.

It is working now. I no longer get the message about the item not being available in the US and I can access the store.

Where are the preview images stored

When you launch iPhoto 8.1.2 and you can look at the preview of the photos in the main screen, Where are these file fragments located?
I have many original pictures that are deleted (yes they are gone and right now I dont care about that) but they still show up in the preview area of iPhoto.
This is a great thing for me since the originals have been deleted and I am trying to salvage whatever sanity I have left in these deleted photos.
I know the images for the previews are somewhere in this machine? is it in a database file or something that needs a special tool to extract the thumbnails?
And yes I have already looked in all the folders inside of the 'show package contents' window. So I am left to believe this is a hidden database preview structure since the photo is truly deleted but it shows up clear as day in the preview area of iPhoto. But of course when you click on the photo you get the big "EXCLAMATION POINT" telling you the photo is gone. Yes I know the photo is gone.
I just want to know where the preview images are stored so I can recover them.. (even if it is the lowest quality and only a few kb in size) its better than nothing as far as I am concerned.

Will building the preview images kill Aperture performance?

So Aperture 1.5 will have the option to continually generate JPG preview images. This is how it gets the new "drag and drop iPhoto like ability" because when you do a drag out of Aperture to another app or desktop you are merely copying a file and not rendering a JPG file on the fly...
I cannot imagine what this will do to performance to have preview images being constantly generated in the background.. Everytime you make an adjustment to a version, the machine will be taxed with generating a JPG based on your preferences, almost like doing an export after each adjustment..
I am basing this on how much work it takes Aperture 1.1.2 to export images...

Preview-building won't get in your way, as it is designed to happen in the background, only when you are not directly interacting with the application. The moment your actions require CPU cycles, automatic preview-creation is temporarily paused and then restarts again when you're not working on images.
In addition, you have control over when and how previews are made. You can turn off automatic preview creation and then generate the previews on demand for only specific projects, or only for selected images. (For example, create previews only for your selects, not for the alternates or rejects in stacks).
If you need previews of certain images immediately, you can choose a command to generate the previews; this action becomes a high-priority request and is moved to the front of the queue so that the previews are made right away.

I need some help taking my site over the top.

Ok, i built the site for a small business and i believe it looks better than most sites in the industry. How do i get it noticed in searches and take it over the top and make it look like it was done by a professional. How do i increase the search hits. Has a cottage industry spawned with people who do this in IWEB. i want to maintain control of the site.

F380. When printing the first time, the preview image shows the same old document

I have a HP Deskjet F380 All In One. The OS of my laptop is Windows Vista, provided with the latest updates. When after starting the laptop, a first print order should be executed, after pressing the PRINT button, the preview window shows not the concerned document, but a very old one. The printing order will be corrected finished, however the old document preview remains somewhere. I am looking for a way how to remove that old document from the preview.

[About old MacBooks, I can see by the OS X version that it could be
almost any MB prior to 2010 that could run Snow Leopard. My old
MacBook1.1 (coreduo, first edition MB 2006) can run it, but isn't.]
Been several years since I used an HP all-in-one, it worked OK until one
day it would not print. It pretended to print, the heads went back & forth;
but no ink came out. New cartridges, almost new HP device; checked
drivers (got newest) and as the unit was new-old-stock, the warranty was
gone in short order. A relative bought it ahead of need; clock was ticking.
So my current AIO is an Epson, bought it new at 55% off. Even has a
real phone modem for the fax. And it does OK prints. Not as good as
my older Epson photo printer, whose inks are harder to find now.
Anyway, hopefully you could fine the helpful paper usually included with
the HP printers, a quick reference set-up guide; they have Mac info, too.

Changing The Preview Image for File Types

Is there any way for me to change the image that shows up as the preview for file types? For example, I use OpenOffice and all my .doc files show up as blank pages of paper, which I don't like. I've tried to change this to no avail, from using the "Get Info" window to within the program itself. Any help?

If you have an image that you want to use, do a Get Info on it, select the image at the top of the box and then copy from the Edit menu. Then on your OpenOffice document do a Get Info and paste the image into the little image icon at the top of the Get Info box.

Premier Pro shuts down the second I mouse over the preview of an asset. Whats wrong?

I am new to Premier Pro and am using a Mac Book Air with Windows installed.
As soon as I create a new project and import the assets (the "Eagles Documentary" example), the whole thing shuts down when I mouse over the assets to see them move.

Is there a way of printing the file name from within the Preview application?

If I'm printing a file within Apple's Preview application, I sometimes want to be able to print the file name at the edge of the document. Does anyone know of way of doing this?

Thanks for replying, that goes some way to answering the question, but I'm also looking to see how much space each app and its associated documents are using, i.e. Pages comes in at 112Mb for the app alone, but I'd like to know how much space is being used by the documents as well.

When I import into lightroom and hover over the preview, it displays the incorrect capture time

If the time happens to go past midnight then those photos get put into a dated folder that hasn't even happened yet. (eg took the photos on the 20th and they get put in a 21st folder) After importing if I got to the metadata panel in the library it shows the correct capture time as per the
camera. As you can see in the screenshot, it was taken on the 19th of October, but place in the 20th October folder. The date and time in the camera are correct, as is the time on my computer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This bug was reported over three years ago and still hasn't been fixed. See this thread in the official Adobe feedback forum and add your vote and opinion: Lightroom: Import: Wrong folder names organizing by date around midnight when using camera USB. Many people are able to work around this bug by importing from the memory card rather than via a USB cable.

How can I update the preview images in Lightroom 5?

And as has already been mentioned by Jim Hess, if you want to continue editing in Lr where you left off in NX2, then you have to import an NX2-saved tiff (or jpeg) file, and edit that instead of the raw.

Picture Library : upload image with same name overwrite the image in thumbmail or WebVersion view but not the actual image link points to the old image

I am facing a wired issue with Picture Libraries in SharePoint.
We created a custom field and added it to UserInfo list, the column based on custom field lets user upload their personal images to a Picture Library with the name <User ID>.<Image Extension> e.g. 1.jpg where UserID is internal Listitem ID of the UserInfo list and set its URL to the field value which we use to display the image on our custom user profile and some other WebParts.
If the user uploads a different image, it will overwrite the existing one it keeping the same name.
The field worked perfectly with sites using widows Based authentication, but as we move the field to sites with form based authentication we find that the field is able to upload the image properly first time but on each successive upload, although a new image gets uploaded with the name userid.imagextension and is shown in the allitems.aspx page in the thumbnail view and in the picture preview on the dispform.aspx page, but the link next to the name field and the image shown on clicking the preview points to the old image.
To put it other way

Would show the updated image
but the actual URL

what’s even more strange is that even after deleting the image the url still shows the old image at

I confirmed the same by actually repeating the same exercise on a picture Library in the User Interface
Uploading an image say upload.jpeg in the picture library using SharePoint interface.
Then uploading a different jpeg image keeping the same name upload.jpeg again in the picture library.
In allitems.aspx thumbnail view and on dispform.aspx page preview filed image now show the newly uploaded image but when you click the preview image or click the link in the name field value it takes you back to the old image.
I have seen this issue on environment where we have enabled form based authentication and the issue is not seen on another server where we have wss with windows based authentication.
Has anyone noticed such behavior and is there any workaround to that!

I had the same issue.
In my case, Blob Cache was enabled for the web application in which the image issue was occuring.
I cleared blob cache, and after doing a hard refresh of my browser, the correct image was then displayed.
To clear blob cache, do the following:
Navigate to:
http://yourwebapp:port/yoursite/_layouts/objectcachesettings.aspx
Select: "Object Cache Flush" and "Force all servers in the farm to flush their object cache" check boxes
Click the OK button

Dreamweaver CS4- I can't get my site to display the proper image.

I have a Dreamweaver CS4 Template with an editable area for a header image. I have already assigned a new image to all the header regions but when I moved the site to the web host the pages will only display the Default header image from the template in the editable region, even though when I check the file name in the Modify Templates window it displays the proper name, but displays the wrong image.
What is wrong? any help would be greatly appreciated.
