Event search filter - clicking the cross causes FCPX to crash

Hi. I have encountered numerous times where I have clicked the small cross next to the event search filter, and immediately FCPX crashes.
This doesn't happen every time so not able to fully re-produce.
Has anyone else encoutered this?

Clicking "webcam settings" causes skype to crash

Running windows 8 desktop skype, i'm not using that metro "app" nonsense.
It's fully updated, logitech camera drivers fully updated. Every time I click "Webcam Settings" in Skype > Options > Video Settings, the program immediately stops responding and closes.
I NEED to go into webcam settings, for one it's way, way too dark everytime I restart my computer because the settings reset and I'm back to looking like i'm sitting in the dark. This has been happening for a very long time, my solution was to sign into Windows Live Messenger and using the settings window there (It does NOT crash WLM.... I'm extremely disatisfied with the news that WLM is shutting down in favour of this..) and then calling my coworker on skype.
I've tried re-installing skype, I even got a new hard drive and fresh installed Windows + all my video games to an SSD, I put skype on there as well thinking maybe it would fix my issue but it did not. Same problem.

I'm having the exact same issue -- Skype crashes whenever I click on webcam settings. The video is very red-shifted, so I want to be able to adjust it. I wonder if you have any suggestions, but I have different hardware.
I recently bought a Lenovo Y580 laptop, running Windows 8, but I'm using Skype Desktop, *not* Metro. The laptop comes with a built-in camera. Device Manager show it as:

Any suggestions on getting this to work would be greatly appreciated. By the way, I have a Logitech C510 webcam from my desktop that works just fine with Skype on the laptop, but it would be nice to be able to use the built-in camera and adjust it.

When I click the new Composition Lightbox Muse crashes

-When I click the newly added (empty) composition box to work with it Muse crashes. I have 9 lightboxes and the newly created 10th composition is the one which causes the crash. All the others behave normally. The others have roll over images and text and on click they have vimeo videos, images and text in the lightbox display.
Currently I can't even click on the new composition to delete it without Muse crashing.
I have the current 7.3.5 build and I am running on macbook pro 10.9.2

Does the crash present an error dialog? An Apple crash report? Other?
Are you using a Mac produced in 2006-2009? What version of Adobe AIR do you have installed. (The AIR version is available in the About Adobe Muse dialog.)

Updated Projects that used Color Assist Cause FCPX to Crash

Hi All,
After it's release I used Technicolor's now defunct and unsupported Color Assist software to grade a couple of projects. I've recently upgraded those project and events for use with 10.1. The projects and events appear in the browser but show a missing pugin warnning me that Color Assist isn't available.
I'm not worried about retreiving the grade - my loss thanks to Technicolor. I would however like to somehow preserve the project intact for re-grading later.
I've tried removing the Color Assist folder from the Project folder prior to performing an upgrade but no dice, FCPX still crashes.
I'm sure the solution must only involve trashing the right render folders to wipe out any trace of Color Assist from the project. Anyone know which render files/folders I need to trash?

Running the VI causes LabVIEW to crash

Hello
While debugging a SW, I found that a particular VI, when run, causes LabVIEW to crash. This happens whether this VI is called while executing an exe or called by higher VI or even when it is run separately.
The VI to be run is NLD_Test_PP_Plot.vi present in the folder "Generic VI's".
The input for this VI is .csv file, which is attached. The csv file needs to be placed in a separate location and that path needs to be entered in the string constant in the VI.
Note: This VI is developed and run in LV v2009.

LabVIEW did not crash for me (nor did it throw an error). It made a bmp of your data and then exited. I am using LV 2013.
Did it actually crash or did it throw an error? If it crashed, do you have the crash zip file?

Placing an image from the Desktop causes Photoshop to crash

i am running CS3 on a MacBook Pro purchased 1 year ago. i cannot place an image from a folder on the Desktop without Photoshop immediately crashing. (i think i have experienced this with InDesign and Illustrator as well, but have not documented it.) is there any help for my situation? thank you.

G5 DP 2.0 (2003) - right clicking on files causes finder to crash

I'm having a rather strange problem - I have a G5 dual 2GHz (2003) with a 160GB HD and a second 500GB HD. I installed 10.4 fresh with erasing the disk. I've upgraded with all the upgrades it's found. I daily fix permissions, etc.
Intermittently, when I right click on a file (say to open it with another program or something or just get info), the finder crashes. When it comes back, I'm able to right click on the file just fine.....until I try another a few minutes later and get the same results.
What I've done so far:
1. Fixed disk permissions
2. Ran disk utility to fix any disk problems
3. Zapped the PRAM (three chimes in a row before letting it boot up)
Still have the problem....help!

If it is an issue with the Finder, then it is likely going to be in
~/Library/Preferences
... not with permissions (which looks at /Library/Receipts and could deal with a bad mouse or usb cable, but most likely something that looking for corrupt plists might find, or a new user account; sometimes just move/rename the Preferences folder helps. And I would use Applejack to delete the cache folders, always a likely source for problems and corrupt files and very active.
Hardware issues or changing hardware can result in corrupt nvram in which case a single or dual boot of PRAM/NVRAM reset is enough, or quicker still, a trip into Open Firmware (cmd + opt + of) will do the trick with
reset-nvram
set-defaults
reset-all
... and I find quicker, but only when adding or changing PCI, RAM or disk drives.
If you use 3rd party mouse driver (USB Overdrive) then look in that direction.
I had a folder with 1000 items. No trouble. Let it grow to 2000, and still no trouble. But around 2400+ it would just cause the Finder to beachball if I tried to save to that folder, until I broke it down into smaller sub-folders of 500.
Disk Warrior 4 would be another tool to scavenge your drive for files and directory issues (Option click on the Repair/Rebuild button does a more thorough read of the hard drive's contents).
MacFixit has some excellent tutorials and 3 yrs of tips on CD even. There are a plethora of FAQs, too.

Question about AD search filter

I'm a newbie here. I've AD to OID sync and have the following search filter in the mapping parameters.
searchfilter=(|(objectclass=group)(objectclass=organizational unit)(|(&(objectclass=user)(!(objectclass=computer)))))
Can someone explain what this filter exactly does?
Sync is working for regular users but I want to get users who are members of some groups. How to I change the filter to get groups and members within groups?

It all depends how the code is written. Somewhere there is going to be a setting that says what your multivalue group objectlass is. The frist query will pull your users, and the second will get the userID for each user and query again for that user's groups. Since the groups are not actually on the user profile, the user's are on the group profile.

Jailbreaking devices is a bad idea (and for most people, it's really old school). Update the devices to iOS 7 and all of your problems should go away.

How to add an Event action filter when victim address is " na "?

Using VMS/IPS MC to add an event action filter. IPS MC requires an victim address in the event action filter, however the alert in Security Monitor has "<na>" as the victim address.
I tried "0.0.0.0 255.255.255.255", which caught the alerts that had victim addresses, but the alerts with victim address of <na> are still being reported.
The signatures are 3250 and 3251 (tcp hijacks).

I would like to add that in any field usually means that the signature does not require anything in that field in order to fire, and therefore, it is truly "not applicable". In the referenced post, marcabl indicated that filters should be a little more controllable in version 5.1. However, we haven't upgraded from 5.0 yet so I couldn't confirm that. I would hope that regardless of whether the data is applicable to the signature or not, the sensor would gather and display the information in SecMon.
With 3030, it came down to a question of, "is this signature really helping us keep this network secure?" I pulled a lot of hair out over that signature.

Trying to find out which line of AS2 code is causing flash player crash in firefox & chrome browser

I have a flash movie (AS2) created for the website visitors' registration and this flash movie is longer in size than the browser's window height so that site visitors need to browse down using browser's vertical scroll bar to see all of the contents in the flash movie.
When users click the submit button in the flash movie then
Firstly, the AS2 code attached to the      on(release){    event scrolls the html page back to the top (because the user must have scrolled down to view the flash movie content at the bottom of the page and I want the html page to go back to the top of the page)

Here's my question.
Almost everytime the user/visitor click the Submit button, the firefox browser users and google chrome browswer users see the Flash Player CRASH...
This doesn't happen often with the website visitors using MS Internet Explorer.
I have read some www articles (by searching google) saying that Adobe Flash Player in Firefox and Chrome browsers crash a lot.
But, for my flash movie, everytime the visitor clicks the submit button, flash player crashes. Therefore, I guess it is the AS2 code that I'm using (associated with the on(release) event of the submit button) is causing the flash player crash rather then the flash player compatibility with Firefox and Chrome browsers.
So, someone please tell me what's causing the flash player crash.
Is there a better code to make a web page to go back to the top?

by repeatedly commenting out lines of code you suspect are causing the crush and retesting you should be able to pinpoint the problem.

ITunes Match causing iTunes to crash

I have read many discussions around how to work around the Match causing iTunes to crash, but I cannot seem to get past it with the suggestions made in other discussion threads, hence I thought I might try a new one to focus on my specific case.
I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, i7-2600, iTunes 11.0.4.4.
One option many suggest is to add to the View iCloud Status. Unfortunately, I do not have this option in my view menu! It goes from "Grouping" to "Kind". So, I can't see which songs are potentially causing the issue. I did delete songs with no time (less than 1 sec), but it was only a couple and did not make a difference I think.
It has crashed many, many times as I have attempted to go through the process and although I generally make some progress through the entire process, it still gets hung up and I have not successfully made it the entire way. I do have access to what has uploaded through my devices, but it is so frustrating - especially at the $25 per year cost for this.
The additional frustrating part is that when it does crash, you have to log off, log back on, then turn the whole darn thing back on to start it over once again! Mind you, it does go through the steps quicker, but regardless I am sitting here watching the thing go through step 1, step 2, then on to step 3, start uploading artwork and remaining songs, only to have it continue to crash with a couple thousand songs left to go.
Can anyone help with additional suggestions on what to do, how to show the iCloud status, etc.?

I did find how to add the iCloud status - which shows up as an option when Match is turned on - but I didn't try to access it while the Match was working previously. Unfortunately, it STILL crashes but I can at least see what is eligible or not until it does! [Why doesn't it still show up when Match is turned off? Just rhetorical questioning.]

I have imported my I photo library into Aperture. all the old i photo events are now in the aperture library showing number of photos but when clicked none display. I can see the photos if i run the cursor over the project. Help please.

I can see the i photo events in aperture library as events with the number of photos in each event.
When you click events in the aperture library no photos appear although if you roll the cursor over the event icon it show the photos. If you click on the event either on the event icon or in the library no photos appear.

Check, if you have any filters set. The search fields in the Insector panel and the browser should be showing "All items" or "Showing All".
The Browser search field could be set for each project and album individually, so you have to check it for each project.

For example: The projects count shows "20 items", but the browser is empty, because the project's filter is set to show only rejected items.
